Great cosy spot, love that the produce is local & fresh, food was well seasoned & presented beautifully. I had the wild venison, it was so tender & the sauce complimented it so well, would recommend & come back.

The Wheatsheaf is highly recommended in a very quaint village. The restaurant is cosy and the staff very attentive. We went with the family and thoroughly enjoyed both the quality of the food and the presentation was outstanding, I had the venison which was cooked to perfection and so tender it melted in the mouth. Compliments to the chef and restaurant staff for a very pleasant time which was well spent in the quiet ambiance of the Wheatsheaf

My wife is a great cook so it's rare for us not to feel we we would have eaten better at home. But not last night. The food, service, ambience, and value were excellent and the Wheatsheaf is to be congratulated. The menu was interesting and varied. I started with scallops (well cooked. presented and generous) and took the Hake as a main course. It was cooked to perfection and accompanied with a lovely source, samphire, and potato/crab croquet My wife had pumpkin soup with a home made bread loaf which she enjoyed and finished. She followed with loin of venison served medium rare, and accompanied with a shredded venison loin tart topped with potato. Happily she is not a big eater and left me some of her dish to try. My word it was good. We had wine by the glass(plenty of choice. We have eaten widely in Cambs. and Northants. and we would agree that regardless of price we have rarely had better fare than at the Wheatsheaf

This was our first lunch at the Wheatsheaf. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table while we waited for our friends to arrive. The food was excellent including 2 starters, 4 main courses and 3 desserts. The service was attentive yet discreet so we didn't feel rushed at all. All the staff were very pleasant and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The pub is cosy and snug and although it was busy it wasn't noisy. We would definitely recommend the Wheatsheaf for a relaxed Sunday lunch. Thank you to the team.

What a delight! Gemma has turned the pub round! The new head chef is a creative and innovative master of the kitchen. His culinary skills are immediately obvious when one studies the menu. It’s a blueprint and testament to his craft. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The presentation of each dish was a work of culinary art and it tickled the tastebuds!. It was served on hot plates with delightful garnishes, delicious sauces and good sized portions. The prices are very reasonable. The smiling and attentive food service team also rise to the occasion, smartly attired in new tee-shirts with the pub's logo. Gemma is quite rightly proud of her team and her efforts to improve this now wonderful local pub. We will be back frequently. Well done, everyone!

From the moment we stepped through the door the staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly, what a gem of a village pub. We had called ahead to say we might be running late for last food orders but they didn’t put any pressure on and the food we had was delightful, fresh crisp batter on the fish and a proper steak pie with proper pastry. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

The pub and restaurant are nicely decorated, the staff attentive and welcoming however we came for a family meal and the food was overpriced and distinctly average at best. For example my starter was described as..... " Pan fried King Prawns, white wine, garlic and chilli butter and crusty bread".....what I actually got was 4 king prawns in a sweet chilli dipping sauce straight out of a bottle! Despite ordering a Sirloin Steak rare I'm 99% certain I was served a Rib Eye steak .....the shape was wrong for a sirloin steak and the marbling throughout the meat was reminiscent of Rib eye....plus it was overcooked. £8 for my king prawn starter and £29 for a steak is at the higher end for pub food in my opinion ....I didn't think the quality was reflected in the price.....looking back I was disappointed. My wife had Sea Bass ...which again was overcooked. I'm actually surprised as the Wheatsheaf is now under the same ownership as the Woolpack at Islip ( our usual restaurant of choice) and the food there is exceptional in comparison. Maybe we were just unlucky last night and had a poor meal, however I'm not risking a repeat visit.

Went with friends, arrived, were seated with a drink bought to us by waiter by 6.45pm. Found in the menu that some dishes were only available up to 7pm. Finally got asked what we wanted to eat at 7.15 to be told that "we are too late" I said we have been here well before 7 to be told that "we are very busy". No apology, so ordered from the main menu. My wife's Chicken Kiev was completely overcooked and the leaks were hardly cooked, my pot of micro-waved peas were cold in the middle. Should have complained but didn't want to embarrass our friends. Disaster. Shame.

We looked on Trip Adviser for somewhere to have lunch not too far off the A14 - we were travelling from Stafford to Ipswich. Trip Advisor suggested the Wheatsheaf - a lovely little pub in Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire. Excellent choice. Off the A14 - straight down a little country lane for 5 minutes to a pretty village - good food, nice people, not too expensive. Plenty of parking. We’ll definitely be back next time we are hurtling along the A14 at lunch time!

Our main beef and chicken meals were ok, except for the lack of hardly any vegetables which I expected to arrive separately, but never did. We had four deserts, for four people. When the bill arrived, it seemed quite a lot, and on closer inspection found we had been charged for seven deserts. When we alerted the guy who seemed to be in charge, there was no apology whatsoever, he just blamed the young lady who had been serving us. He should have taken responsibility himself. Let's hope the meals improve and the manners of those in charge. Although I won't be returning.

We ordered a chicken burger and the fish and chips. The fish and chips were disappointing. The portion of fish was small and most of it consisted of overcooked batter, with just a small amount of fish inside. Most of the chips were overcooked and dark brown in colour. The peas were acceptable. Drinks-wise, we ordered a jug of tap water to start with as it was a hot day. During the meal were not asked if we would like any other drinks. We had to get up to ask for the bill and once this was paid, the waitress turned her back and walked off without saying a thank you or goodbye. Overall, disappointing.

As our family is spread out, we were looking for somewhere near Thrapston and remembered The Wheatsheaf. It has been some years since our last visit so decided to give it a go. What a good decision. Most of us ordered the beef which was just the right size for us and was simply lovely. Presented well, the beef was beautifully cooked, the vegetables lovely especially the red cabbage and a very tasty large Yorkshire pudding. We cannot comment on dessert as we were all too stuffed to have one! We will remember The Wheatsheaf and visit again.

Visited the Wheatsheaf for the first time a birthday lunch and will certainly be returning soon. Menu is not extensive which I like as I would rather have the chef concentrate and succeed on a few dishes rather than try to do loads and fail on them all. I had braised beef cheeks which were absolutely gorgeous, very soft and fell apart with a great sauce. My wife had prawn, crab and crayfish risotto which was one of the best she has had, really tasty almost tasting like a bisque. Orange pud for afters was really tasty with a lovely curd and sorbet. Compliments to the chef. Service was great, attentive but not feeling like we were being pushed. Best meal we have had out for ages and would certainly recommend the Wheatsheaf as a place to eat.

It was all the little things for me. I like to take my time, I hate that feeling that the staff are waiting to turn your table. I want to look at the wine list and see what’s on the menu that would go together. The roast was just warm felt as though the potatoes have been sat there a while. Red cabbage was very nice. Some of the pudding were great, cheesecake, but others were really not such as the crumble. Nothing bad enough to complain, we thank the staff and paid the bill.

We went to the Wheatsheaf to celebrate my wife's birthday, we both had the the roast beef which was excellent and the wife had sticky toffee pudding which she enjoyed. The service was good and it was good value Can recommend this place.

Forget Dominos, Pizza Express and all of the other ‘pizza food outlets’. Have just had the most amazing pizza experience at The Wheatsheaf, Titchmarsh. Extensive choice with extra toppings if required. Nothing was too much trouble. And pizza where the topping actually went right to the edge of the dough. Honestly, you won’t be disappointed. Just heard there is going to be a regular pizza night so watch this space.

A straight forward Sunday Lunch but with an alternative lighter Sunday Lunch menu. Two of our party were late but they were still very patient.

We went with friends on a busy Friday night, drinks and food service was slow throughout our visit. My fish Scotch Egg was tasty for starters and the ham, egg & chip for main was okay. Sold out of the pie I wanted which was a shame (second time that's happen to me here).

We had the olives and bread starter, lovely warm bread, good olives (I liked them, my o/h not so much) and the oil and balsamic was very tasty.

Called in on a weekday for a quick lunch. There was a large party of walkers arriving all of whom had pre-booked and came to buy drinks and pay for their meals, so a short wait to be served. A fine selection of beers (pity I was driving) and the two of us decided to share a selection of starters rather than have a main. No problem and a good selection came to our table. Most enjoyable.

Non-descript from the outside this village Pub is beautifully decorated inside in a modern, chic style that aids relaxation. The Menu is small but has enough favourites, all at reasonable prices. There's a pie menu too. I went for ham, egg, chips as the turkey, bacon, stuffing pie I wanted was sold-out. The food arrived in short order, it looked and tasted delicious. Unusually, the "ham" was a smoked bacon chop, tender and flavoursome as I said.

We chose this place because it was near A14. We left carriages way and travelled along pretty country lanes before reaching Cotswold style picture box village.

Just off the A605 in the lovely village of Titchmarsh is the an up to date pub with little touches of the past here and there, the hosts were most welcoming. The bar has a good selection of beer and wine. Food covers most pallets, I had Pea Risotto with Smoked Haddock lovely.

My wife and I went to the Wheatsheaf for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We both had the Sunday Roast, beef and lamb which were tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive although we both missed Gemma who was not working that day.

Superb meal at The Wheatsheaf tonight. A lovely smoked mackerel starter followed by perfectly cooked sea bass. Our friend's whitebait was gorgeous. Highly recommended.

Brilliant food and service! We had the crispy chilli chicken, and the Mongolian beef sizzler, both delicious! Staff were professional and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend and will 100% be back.

We come here once a week, and each week it gets better and better: Marie and Harmony are always friendly and are on hand to help us with our menu choices; I would fully recommend coming here!

Most probably the best food I’ve ever had. If you are looking for a cosy pub with great food next to an open fire then you have found it. Make sure you book though as it gets very busy. Ask for Jamie and say jack sent you.

I don't go into coffee shops alone. Had 40mins to while away.Saturday early afternoon Good coffee and tea cake. Lovely attentive lady serving.Shame they where out of cheese scones. Nice safe cafe for timid singles.

Although the service in the cafe was slow and the staff forgot to bring me my order, the food was actually very tasty. However, the visit to the toilet was horrendous - the toilet seat in the unisex, accessible toilet had been left up to, to expose the most disgusting orange/brown urine staining (see photo's). I reported this to the store manager, who couldn't have been less interested - despite me showing her the toilet seat, she offered no apology, smiled and stated that it had already been reported and she was already aware of it. I believe she said that it was being addressed next week, so if anyone needs the toilet, you may be better to cross your legs until you can find somewhere more sanitary to use! Very annoyingly, the manager saw fit to speak to somebody on her headset whilst I was talking to her - really disrespectful and patronising. Really not the standard that I expected from Waitrose!
