Unable to go to another location we wandered around Thrapston and spotted Bennetts the manager stated it was lunchtime and about time I treated her so in we go, opening the door we were met delicious odour of lovely food making for a nice meal to come obviously very popular as all but three tables were in use. We were greeted by a lovely lady who told us where they were settling in we went through a comprehensive menu, for such a smallish restaurant very surprising eventually we settled for a Tuna mayonnaise sandwich accompanied with salad on the side for myself a ploughman's. The lovely young lady took our order the coffee turned pretty quickly promptly followed by our meal we both went Wow, they were large, I mean large the managers sandwich was whole meal bread filled about an inch thick! My ploughman's was perfect fresh sliced baguette plus butter a lovely slice of cheddar and brie beautiful coleslaw, a little dish of pickle, sausage roll accompanied with salad drizzled with some gorgeous dressing. Needless to say we thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend Bennetts to anyone, thank you to all the staff for an enjoyable experience.

Really great coffee and an excellent Bennett's bap (sausage, bacon and egg). Very impressed. Oh, and the sausage rolls were great too.

Staff are bullies and the rudest people I’ve ever met. They don’t know me at all and yet have treated me so poorly. I used to be a regular just going in for breakfast and always being polite but now it seems I can’t even bare the thought of going into the cafe anymore and it’s in my own town.

I stayed at The Royal Oak for one night whilst on a business trip. I also was fortunate enough to enjoy dinner and breakfast there. The staff were super helpful and friendly and both meals delicious. I have a couple of special dietary requirements and everyone was extremely accommodating. My room and bathroom were very clean and beautifully appointed. I would like to mention Emma on Reception who was particularly helpful during my stay I highly recommend The Royal Oak.

Always good quality and value for my shopping, especially at the time items are reduced ! Staff are very helpful. Great to be able to get a yummy coffee after buying all my food etc Thanks

Staff were friendly enough, service was prompt, however I got a paltry amount of chips to compliment my "chicken" burger....no salad or owt. The meat was actually beef, which wouldn't have been an issue in itself, but the accompanying roll and 'toppings' were for a chicken burger, so I had mayo & lettuce on my beefburger. Not great, not even sure how that went so wrong and wasn't picked up by anyone. Photo shows the combination received, and the largely empty plate, can only imagine the focus was on the brioche branding.

No words can describe how fantastic this pub is, this has become our regular and we have no faults! food is fantastic, we have started doing the bottomless gin afternoon tea ,again fantastic, great supply of Gin well looked after, cakes to die for! Highly recommend! Staff are fantastic and very welcoming! Location of the pub is great, sit in the comfort of the country pub or down by the river overlooking fields. Highly recommend this pub :)

Seeing as my review was removed I will try again! Stay away. I went to the so called “quiz night” and it was awful. You would have found a better atmosphere in a morgue. Hardly any there, no music, vile smell and it was dirty. I use to frequent the pub before lockdown and it was fantastic. It has apparently changed hands since and not for the better. I will definitely not be going back. The smell and filth were enough to put me off my beer let alone dreary feel to the place. Very sad to say that I will not be recommending a once lovely pub
