Although the service in the cafe was slow and the staff forgot to bring me my order, the food was actually very tasty. However, the visit to the toilet was horrendous - the toilet seat in the unisex, accessible toilet had been left up to, to expose the most disgusting orange/brown urine staining (see photo's). I reported this to the store manager, who couldn't have been less interested - despite me showing her the toilet seat, she offered no apology, smiled and stated that it had already been reported and she was already aware of it. I believe she said that it was being addressed next week, so if anyone needs the toilet, you may be better to cross your legs until you can find somewhere more sanitary to use! Very annoyingly, the manager saw fit to speak to somebody on her headset whilst I was talking to her - really disrespectful and patronising. Really not the standard that I expected from Waitrose!

I just wanted to let management know that Dawn, who was working in the flowers section (Waitrose, Oundle) is an absolute credit to your team! Fantastic customer service, going over and beyond what I expected. I couldn’t find a feedback form on the website, hence the review here. Many thanks Dawn!

Upon receiving my rock solid jacket potato that wasn’t even warm enough to melt the butter I was already frustrated but working in this industry myself I bit the bullet and ate it anyway. All I could hear behind the counter was the girls slating their other colleagues and complaining to each other about working hours.Poor professionalism and frankly not acceptable. The only redeemer was the latte.

Just like every other supermarket. Last time we were in there the coffee machine was broken, but we were allowed to claim one from the cafe so that wasn’t too bad. They also didn’t have any quinoa one time which put a slight dampner on lunch.

This is my go to store and it is so convenient for me. Plenty of parking with a lovely car park attendant called Malcolm who is always happy. A reasonably good number of mother/child and disabled parking bays. The staff/partners are always so helpful and friendly and their range of products for a smaller store is very good. There are also well stocked cheese, meat and fish counters where you are served by very knowledgeable 'partners' and an excellent selection of wines and spirits. A great place to shop or 'top up' shop.

My husband and I popped into Waitrose Oundle for a quick cuppa as we had another appointment in an hour. I ordered my Tea and the obligatory sticky bun at half price. My husband asked for a soft drink and could only find a "Ginger Shot"?. Although I had a tray everything was put out of reach round the side of the counter. The assistant knew the person behind me and ai couldn't help feeling she wanted me out of the way so she could chat! The Ginger Shot was in a quite small container - I politely asked if I could have a glass. The assistant reached under the counter and produced a large pint glass. I laughed and said don't you have a smaller one to which she replied no! She wasn't happy that I had interupted her chatter. Sorry Waitrose I won't be using your cafe I'd rather take a free coffee away!

Why is it that Waitrose has good food and some really terrible staff. I’ve just returned a faulty reusable cup (£12!!!) and the staff member not only had a massive attitude issue - perhaps she forgot that I’m a customer - but then my partner overheard her gossiping about me to another customer afterwards. How unprofessional! Please would the Waitrose Oundle manager do something about the staff at this store!

I like the store but the only thing I hate is the sushi. Sushi is supposed to be soft and taste rlly good. But with this “sushi” the rice was stale, it was hard to eat, the seasoning was bad, I found mayo in it (WHY?!?!?!?!), I found tuna salad in it (WHAT!?!?!?!?!) and it just wasn’t good. Me and my family didn’t care for it so pls don’t get the “sushi” at Waitrose or any other waitrose.

We visited the supermarket whilst visiting Oundle the store was much the same as other Waitrose stores, the staff were very pleasant and helpful as they always seem to be in Waitrose. One plus was that it had a good car park. We completed our few purchases and left I can give no comment on the café as we used an independent one in the town.

I’m a regular Shopper at Waitrose but I am aghast at the number of reviews hear that suggest it is a great place to go for coffee and cake! The produce available at the cafe may will be very nice but why not visit the many local independent establishments For your bun and cuppa? It’s not the cafe it’s a supermarket and if we don’t support small local businesses there won’t be a nice town like Oundle to visit in the future. Does anyone care these days?

Too small for purpose and has limited services. I echo recent reviews about items being regularly out of stock and as such you cannot rely on finding things. Having just tried to order household item on line form Waitrose, I discovered I had to spend £40 to get delivery and then to discover that I had to travel to Peterborough to collect them. I complained to the store. I think discovered I could order the items via John Lewis where I had only to spend £30 for free deliver to Oundle's Waitrose! One wonder Amazon Prime household box started to look attractive!

The shelves are regularly empty of popular things. Today I tried to buy razors and the shelves were empty - I asked why - a girl said that's because of Xmas time!!!!. she then went to the storage part and miraculously found some! Almost another sale lost due to inefficiency . I blame the management as they are ultimately responsible not the poor assistants that take all the flack.

We stopped here for a Coffee & Cake on our way back from Wisbech, and we have eaten here previously, and at that time is was very good, however, on this visit, Waitrose were NOT up to their usual standards - why? We both had Coffee (One0shot latte for me & Decaff Mocha for my good lady) both were truly awful! And for some reason they had "Ran Out" of Sausage Rolls - then why not send someone down to the Pastries Counter in the shop, and refill the Café? Should we have complained? Probably Yes - but to be honest, because of the service we had received - we could not be bothered, Waitrose Cafe's have earned a great reputation, so in theory, keeping up to that standard should be achieved wherever the location, shouldn't it? Oundle branch has to be more vigilant, otherwise, the Café WILL be in danger of loosing faithful customers, just like us. School Report would read " Must do Better". Shame.

I thought the taste was good and it was well presented especially for the money. The latte coffee was good. I hope this was just a blip.

It must have been a brave move to open a Waitrose in this small town but a successful one. They will have Carrie don't demographic surveys and ascertained they will get a wide catchment and of course the parents of the well regarded public school. The cafe is clean, staff are pleasant and you can find basic sandwiches etc.The seating areas are fine and its nice to be able to enjoy a quick read of the newspapers. For me I think the food could be improved by offering better salad garnish, eg really fresh, more colourful, and therefore more than one bit of lettuce. The cakes and biscuits are often the pre-packed cellophane type,or basic slices of cakes which unfortunately taste like they have been just cut up from one off their shelves.it would be so nice to treat oneself to something which tastes home baked! ( go to Brew bar in town and you will taste the difference!) Sorry Waitrose but you could do a bit better !

I popped in during the morning. The café is quite small and has a limited range of products. I had a Danish pastry to go with my free tea. The pastry was fine, but my local Waitrose has a much bigger range so I was a bit disappointed. There were plenty of free newspapers to read, and the café was clean and the tables had been cleared (one of my pet hates is uncleared tables). The staff were pleasant and friendly, although I did have to reach across the counter to pick up my tea.The loo was clean. All in all a pleasant place to visit.

I come less and less to this cafe now as I prefer the other cafes in town. The food selection is very small and lacks the homemade feel that you get elsewhere.Saying that, the cafe is usually kept clean and tidy, they are usually fairly efficient in serving you and it is easy enough to move tables together for larger groups. There is a good selection of drinks, hot and cold, and they are reasonably priced.

Really a tale of two experiences, arriving slightly later than our booking, not being local anyone that has to negotiate the Rushden Lakes Christmas rush hour traffic will I’m sure sympathise, we enquired at the bar to say we’d arrived, there was no room at the inn here, so we was told to go to the main door, who knew there was two, to check inn, we asked where that was, and the manageress very kindly got one of the young staff to show us (have you worked at Sainsbury’s, well done) however, the queue was back out of the door which, by the time we eventually checked in, the table had been released (I know, it’s our fault for being late) but the phaff in rebooking the table, I didn’t see 8 people come in and take what would have been our original table, was just too much like hard work, eventually we got sat down but told we had to vacate by 645pm which wasn’t a problem. Next challenge, getting a drink and ordering, the app, which would have solved a problem, didn’t allow for amendments, my grandkids didn’t want cheese on the burgers and with no option to do this, I visited the bar. There was two other clients at the bar, one being served and another waiting, I stood on one side and was told, please don’t stand there, stand over there as I need to know who’s next, which I did but then thought, there’s only 2 of us it can’t be that hard to remember, surely if a queue system is needed, then make a sign, though when I was served someone else stood where I was originally, but wasn’t asked to move as another member of staff appeared, begging the question, what if there was a queue All of this didn’t set a precedent for the meal, however I was proved wrong, the meal was served quickly, correctly, hot and with a smile, well done for this element, the hamburgers were wolfed down as was everyone’s meal. Greene King, please just sort out the front of house and ordering experience (bar staff and app) Ps. Question for any HH management, what’s the importance of the black cup you get when you’re taken to the table and the insistence of getting it back half way through the meal?
