I don't go into coffee shops alone. Had 40mins to while away.Saturday early afternoon Good coffee and tea cake. Lovely attentive lady serving.Shame they where out of cheese scones. Nice safe cafe for timid singles.

This is a really nice place with a very cheerful and friendly lady serving. Contrary to some previous reviews I feel that the prices are very reasonable. What prevents it from getting five stars from me is that it does not serve fair trade tea and coffee. I am surprised and disappointed that a cafe run by the Salvation Army fails to do this. Incidentally, it is now called Sally Ann's cafe.

I visit this cafe at least once or twice a week and i am never disappointed. The choice of food is great with daily specials covering many taste palates. Olive branch rivals many cafes in the area with one even situated across the road, but in terms of hospitality atmosphere and food this one wins it for me. Many more visits to come, check out the charity shop too!

I have been visiting this place for the past year, although it is owned by SA i feel that it has well presented staff, food and place. Its not just a cafe, its a place where people of all ages go and and meet, socialise and have some reasonably priced food. TBH due to it being a charity people have the perception that the prices should be cheaper but i can honestly say that the food is priced to reflect the quality so well done olive branch.

The two of us had a prawn and salad filled jacket spud, and shared a pot of tea for two. Would both have preferred an oven baked more crispy spud but apart from that it was great to support such a kind organisation. Great value at just under ten pounds for it all, and much nicer to go here than you're run of the mill "Cost-ta-lots".

Food was expensive, and advertising paid vacancies, so not volunteer run. Food good, lovely clean, but food over priced

No pre packed food here. We went for light bite. I had tea and a cheese and ham sandwich on gluten free bread. It was definitely better than average. The ham was off the bone the bread was bake house. Hubby had two crumpets with cheese on and a millionaire short bread as well as a coke. The bill came to £9.00 . We thought that was quite reasonable. I have heard that they do very good lunches as well. I had a look down the menu and it had a good selection.

Had homemade quiche, salad and chips. Absolutely delicious. The cafe was so busy we sat in the overspill lounge. The new cook/manager Mary is an excellent cook

We often start our shopping day in Rushden with a tasty breakfast here at The Olive Branch. Would definitely recommend this lovely cafe that is adjoined to the Salvation Army HQ.

Cheap and cheerful, staff were friendly and surroundings basic but clean and light - being a wheat freer there was not much on the menu for me unfortunately, but a jacket spud with prawns and salad was well presented and tasty, well priced at £3.20 too. Very popular at lunchtime so get there early, other people were tucking in to a variety of cafe foods with gusto, can't blame them at these prices - try it!

We visited this café/restaurant today for a light lunch and were not disappointed. My husband had the pate with toast and a salad garnish for £2.70 and I had the cheese and onion filled potato skins for £3.70 which we thought was very good value. You have to order the meals at the counter but the food is then brought to your table and we did not have to wait very long for them to appear. The meals were very hot and tasty. Not many places now charge £1 for a pot of tea and it was very good value as we managed to get 2 cups out of each pot. The staff were polite and friendly and we will definitely return again.

Although the service in the cafe was slow and the staff forgot to bring me my order, the food was actually very tasty. However, the visit to the toilet was horrendous - the toilet seat in the unisex, accessible toilet had been left up to, to expose the most disgusting orange/brown urine staining (see photo's). I reported this to the store manager, who couldn't have been less interested - despite me showing her the toilet seat, she offered no apology, smiled and stated that it had already been reported and she was already aware of it. I believe she said that it was being addressed next week, so if anyone needs the toilet, you may be better to cross your legs until you can find somewhere more sanitary to use! Very annoyingly, the manager saw fit to speak to somebody on her headset whilst I was talking to her - really disrespectful and patronising. Really not the standard that I expected from Waitrose!

Old fashioned pub, just as I like it. Cask ales, excellent bar food.
