A really lovely cafe in a lovely old building. Very bright and airy. With Beth's Kitchen operating out of the cafe, I asked them in advance to make a custom birthday cake for my wife. We came in and had a slice there with our twin toddlers - and it was fantastic. The kids toys were handy for keeping them entertained. Would visit again!

The friendly, dog-welcoming atmosphere, paired with the thoughtful service like biscuits for your dog, really adds to the charm. The pub's popularity, evident by the booked tables, and the tempting menu make it clear that you'll want to book ahead next time. A classic cozy pub experience, especially with such attention to both customers and their pets!

Whilst I cannot fault the quality of the food, the lack of toilet facilities causes me a major problem. Previously when we have visited here we were able to use the toilets belonging to the pub next door. Having mobility problems and on medication , I politely asked if it would be possible to use the staff WC. This was refused and I was told to use the public toilets which were a considerable distance away. It took me a very painful 25 minute walk to go there and back.I am 85 years old, leaning heavily on a walking stick . I feel very disappointed as i have visited this fish shop many times in the past.

Looking for good material ideas for a prom dress .Betty’s Sewing Box is a real Alladins cave of beautiful materials for sewing, knitting or crocheting. My 15 year old Granddaughter has just started to do her own clothing designs after her work experience at David Nieper Fashions. She was amazed at not just the materials but the trimmings and patterns even for beginners. The lady there took time to talk to her. It is a great place, can’t wait to go back. The cafe there is lovely and it has its own car park. It has a great workroom at the rear. Fantastic.

Really lovely food. Loved the marmite butter. Sadly the service lets it down. Started out well, but turned to inattentive and having the bill nonchalantly chucked onto the table at the end pretty much sums up the attitude and indifference.

We tried this cafe for a quick snack as it was very close to our accommodation. My wife's sausage in a bread roll was served cold and my Panini was OK but with far too much Pesto and not enough of the other ingredients. The Iced Lime Tea was very good. The service was absolutely bonkers. On ordering the Iced Tea one of the staff left the premises and returned with bags of ice. Although our order had been written down they had to write it down again to work out our bill. Two young students at an adjacent table were handed the pad and pen to write down their own orders. An older gentleman who initially appeared to be a customer suddenly became a member of staff. He got quite annoyed because he couldnt find a pen to write down an order - the same pen another member of staff had given to the students. He then cleared a table and dropped all the cutlery. It was all rather hilarious - but not actually good value. We didnt return. (PS Cafe Impromptu is wonderful)

4 of us staying in a nearby cottage called in for an evening meal.We hadn't booked, but we're given a nice table in the small bar, near the woodburner. We ordered from the simple menu, and all enjoyed their chosen meal. The draught beer went down well too. The prices were very resonable, main course probably average £10, that's good There days. There was a nice buzz in the bar, we'd go there again no problem.

Good selection of warm and cold food. Sausage rolls and warm cobs/baps were lovely. Next to cycle shop for repairs and rent. Both right by Tissington trail and not far from high peak trail.
