A really lovely cafe in a lovely old building. Very bright and airy. With Beth's Kitchen operating out of the cafe, I asked them in advance to make a custom birthday cake for my wife. We came in and had a slice there with our twin toddlers - and it was fantastic. The kids toys were handy for keeping them entertained. Would visit again!

Really glad we went to the cornerstone cafe , it is now our favourite place to eat out in Ashbourne . Tapas really good. Also tried carrot cake with lime cheese topping which was a-maz-ing! Friendly cafe and well behaved dogs allowed. Recommended.

Excellent cafe. Coffee is great, and Beth’s cakes are out of this world. Never had a bad one, always moist. The place is always clean and tidy and lots of books and toys. Best cafe in Ashbourne by far.

We decided to break our journey home on the way back from The Peak District & came across this amazing cafe in Ashbourne. SO impressed with the food, staff & ethos as well as the quality of the toys & books available for our Granddaughter. If we visit the area again we will be back & might just order some of their delicious brownies in the meantime! One of our party has a gluten intolerance & that was no problem. Alternative milks were also available as well as a healthy & balanced lunch for our Granddaughter. Thank you so much for making the end of our holiday special.

One of our regular stops in Ashbourne. I often meet up here with friends and our little ones; books and toys available to entertain the young ones (and the not so young ones too!) There's a series of rooms so nice and relaxing for us Mums as people can easily choose not to sit near your table to kids if they don't want too! Beth and Paul make DELICIOUS food, and the cakes are to die for!! Such a lovely atmosphere. We've also done a few of their monthly Supper Clubs and they are brilliant, (off their again tonight actually!) It's a family business, with fantastic quality. LOVE this place.

We went as a family group to celebrate my Mum in Laws 80th, (with my lactose intolerant Sis in Law). The food was fabulous, creative, colourful and tasty. We work in hospitality also and appreciate how well run this cafe is. My sis in laws allergy was professionally accommodated. This is our second visit in a couple of weeks and we shall be regulars here. Well done Beth on your fantastic menu, a wonderful and welcome addition to Ashbourne, which is quirky, original, and well executed. 5 stars all round.

Discovered this delightful coffee shop on our visit to Ashbourne. We only had the appetite for coffee and cake, which was a shame as the small plate lunch menu looked excellent. The coffee was superb and the carrot cake the best I have ever tasted! Also loved the selection of cook books to browse whilst eating.

Such a gorgeous cafe in Ashbourne. Stumbled across it on our way somewhere and the staff were just lovely and the food was absolutely delicious. We went for the Cornerstone breakfast and the smoky beans were so tasty - every aspect of the breakfast was delicious. Drinks tea and coffee were fantastic, fast service and dog friendly. Absolute gem of a find.

We enjoyed a fabulous brunch on a Saturday morning, with excellent friendly service from Beth & Paul, and their team. The menu was varied, catering for any taste, with local produce the cornerstone of the food. I had the cornerstone breakfast - the beans were smoky, and I really enjoyed the sausage patty, which was a nice change from a the traditional shape! All very tasty without being excessive. The flat white was perfect - a properly constructed coffee, that puts many more famous chains flat whites to shame. Go on treat yourself, pop in, chill and enjoy the food and drinks. We have to go back so we can tuck into Beth's fabulous cakes.

We popped in to Cornerstone for a quick drink but stayed much longer. The relaxed atmosphere was exactly what we needed and the food was just lovely. As vegetarians, there were multiple options on offer and we were blown away by the quality of the food. Definitely a place we will return to.

I'm not used to leaving reviews but we had the loveliest time here last week. We had the genius small plates so you can craft your own little dish (and pick and mix with your friends) and then went back for cake (and then more cake to take home!) Really comforting and warm inside and lovely staff. Some of the most delicious cake (and food in general!) I've had out before so thank you! We'll all be back soon :)

Had a selection of food for lunch followed by coffee and cake. Tea and coffee cups were a lovely touch (porcelain). The kids choice was smart and had great options. The food we had was delicious. The cake was possibly the greatest I've ever eaten in cafe. Or possibly just ever eaten. The service was friendly and thoughtful. I'd love this cafe where I live

Catered Hen Party weekend, we had fabulous catering for a themed evening on Friday and a formal evening on Saturday. Both evening the food was great, but the formal evening meal was stunning. The entire team were accommodating, friendly, and left no trace that they had even been in the kitchen. Highly recommend for any private dining event.

We have been here many times and spent hundreds of pounds over the years but we won't be going again. We were celebrating our anniversary and booked in advance making it clear that one of the party is GF due to a severe allergy. We arrived to find one male server who clearly was unable to cope as he was doing the bar as well as serving on the tables. We had to sit in the bar to start without being offered a drink then were taken to our table but despite reiterating my allergy I was served gluten containing bread which I had to point out. It was taken away and replaced by molten GF bread followed swiftly by a sirloin steak in what purported to be a peppercorn sauce which, although tasty, contained lots of unexpected herbs and was extremely watery. We were asked if we wanted a side and were sold a cauliflower cheese which chef bought to our table pointing out that it contained GLUTEN!!! At no stage did anyone apologise for selling us a side that was totally inappropriate. Nor did they enquire if everything was satisfactory. When we came to leave a miserly 10% was knocked off the bill which included the gluten containing cauliflower cheese! You'd have thought the least they could do was subtract it from the bill but no they charged me for it! So in reality the 10% after subtracting the cost of the cauliflower cheese came to an allowance of less than 2 pounds! Needless to say I was not impressed and felt the servers paltry allowance for what he called the gluten fiasco was wholly inadequate and really added insult to injury.

Lovely independent bakery. We had 2 sandwiches to take away. They were very good. Ciabatta and top quality fillings for a very reasonable price. The sausage roll was amazing. Friendly service. Will definitely return when in the area again.
