Best flapjack in Derbyshire ! Lovely service with a smile and time for a chat. A brilliant place to stop and enjoy the countryside and we only live 4 miles away?!!

We were walking the Tissington Trail yesterday and it was in the storm and we were about to turn round and go back when we saw a building in the distance. At the least it might be toilets. Then we began to hope it might be somewhere that could sell us a hot drink: in the storm and the cold and the rain and the wind we headed towards it hardly daring to Hope. And as we got there, we saw the lights on. And then hallelujah we could see it was a kiosk. Run by a lovely woman called Sue. Sue is a delight She made us a great espresso with freshly ground coffee She made me a wonderful cup of tea And we also bought a vegan brownie And we got some friendly companionable chat The brownie was delicious , the drinks were just what we needed and I just wanna say how lovely the whole experience was. The journey back to the car was Hiking right into the wind, but we were warmed up now and it didn’t feel so bad

Good selection of warm and cold food. Sausage rolls and warm cobs/baps were lovely. Next to cycle shop for repairs and rent. Both right by Tissington trail and not far from high peak trail.

Arrived around 10:45 am on 10/11/24 only to be informed that there was no hot food being served until 11:15 due to a take away order. Others in front of us left and we reluctantly ordered two coffees, a flapjack and a Pork Pie instead of the full cooked breakfasts we’d hoped for. We were charged twice for the Pork Pie, which we pointed out and were subsequently refunded for. We sat at a table that had the previous occupants breakfast plate on it (which was never cleared, considering the waiting on staff weren’t serving any food at the time) and waited for our coffee which did not arrive. We fetched it ourselves from the counter, at which point around 11:05, they started taking breakfast orders again. The place seemed poorly managed and why you’d turn away valued customers for a take away order is beyond me.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was probably the best I've had, the meat melted in your mouth and the veg was brilliant with meaty gravy

Called here this morning before going for a walk round Matlock bath. Lovely quaint little tea shop with welcoming servers. Just had drinks but the menu stated a variety of food and cakes. Great prices also. Would call again as lots of Covid restrictions in place so felt safe.
