Not been for about 1 year. Today went for Sunday lunch. Had a drink in the bar before going to our table. Had the roast beef (pink). It was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Couldnāt fault all the accompaniments. Ordered cauliflower cheese as an extra and it was so flavoursome. Me and my husband always rate places with āif itās better than we cook at home then itās worth going backā and we will disunity be going back. It was a lovely dinner, I didnāt have room for a pud. All staff lovely and very friendly.

Often get a full English breakfast from here as a weekend treat. Good is decent and the staff are nice. Partner also likes the sandwiches for lunch.

We love visiting Harley Cafe! The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Dogs are allowed outside where thereās lots of tables. Weāve been three times in a week because itās so good! I love the fruit French toast which varies throughout the year. Currently itās rhubarb and lemon curd and absolutely delicious! Sometimes the staff bring our dogs sausages as a treat. Highly recommend!

Had the best steak here. Was delicious after a day of walking! Pub is beautiful and service was good. The only thing I would say is the back room looks a bit like a canteen , doesnāt match the atmosphere of the gorgeous pub but still pleasant.

I'm currently sat watching Notts v Yorks at the venue. The sun is shining, it's an absolutely stunning day. Notts lost the toss and they're batting first. The facilities are wonderful. Bars, cakes, burgers, more seating than a really big seated thing, it's a pleasure to be here. Parked easily and picked up a coffee on our way to our front row seats. Anyway, I better put some sun tan lotion on, it really is a belting day.

We stayed next door at the Renishaw and came here a few times for breakfast. S21 Sandwich Bar is a British style cafe serving mainly cooked to order all food, including breakfast and made to order sandwiches. The breakfast plates come in different sizes, but even the smallest plate is filling enough for me. Itās an understatement to say the portions are generous. The place is spotless, the service is just lovely. Itās just a shame the cafe is far from places. They do seem to get a lot of passing traffic though and hopefully will continue to do so.

Wow what can I say , absolutely amazing. We booked bottomless brunch for six people. 2 hours of draught beer , cider, wine prosecco, cocktails. Any meal from the lunchtime menu. At first we thought... Slow to take orders for food and drink...thought this is the fix, however this was not the case the drinks were plentyful. After our first two drinks the food came. What can I say. Hearty meals. Ploughman's, hunters chicken, Cajun chicken pasta, lasagne and Garlic bread, burgers, pies...and more. Jordan or server was the man of the hour, attentive to every need. Bus stop just outside to neighbouring village Will definitely come again. Well done, Rose and Crown. Proper hidden gem

Absolutely fabulous although the night was a bit like visiting a faulty towers restaurant in that; no staff were in attendance on the carvery so we had to wait. A lot of the food looked dry and emaciated. The gravy bowls were bone dry on the condiments table as was the mint sauce. The queue to get drinks was a total fiasco as there was large group in attendance. Despite all of the above issues the team at De Rodes dug deep & were genuinely happy at their work And most importantly they solved every issue instantly calmly & apologetically. I take my hat off to them. The food in the carvery actually tasted yummy and once all the meats and empty foods had been replaced things got cooking realy quickly ( excuse the punš) . The cohesive teamwork shone through as one team member dealt with the large group taking pizza š orders and ensuring they were married to correct customers. Whilst the young man on the carvery apologised for absence and got someone to fill up all the empty condiments. Voila! The food was super tasty and the large group were catered for and fed back they had enjoyed thier experiences. The De Rodes team gave a masterclass in how to manage a busy midweek eatery successfully. The fact they actually offer a carvery midweek is a bonus. Every member of the Stonehouse team was engaged and committed to making the experience of all its patrons the best possible. Well done the De Rodes Arms Stonehouseā“ š š

Country pub & restaurant not far from Hardwick Hall. Perfect on a sunny day. Loads of outdoor seating & grassed areas for the kids. Good service in the restaurant on our visit with the family. Specials were good value, home made pies nice. One of our party opted for the Venison which was well prepared. Can be very busy in the summer & advisable to book in advance for meals. Visited here many times over the years & never fails to impress. The country roads en-route are narrow & unlit at night . Make sure you enter Hardwick Inn into the SatNav & not the Hardwick Hall as itās quite a trek between the 2.!
