Bright and friendly staff, food excellent as always, lovely atmosphere brilliant

Nothing was too much trouble, food was delicious and Bobby was very attentive to our needs

We wanted small carvery but not served on a Sunday. My mum only eats a small meal as do I

We came to the vanish once again a couple of days ago and once again I can say the service was absolutely lovely! The food was amazing and can always recommend people to come and enjoy a brilliant meal over and over again. Staff members were polite and cheerful and can say I’ve always had a laugh with everyone there.

Food is fantastic, the carvery’s are to die for and most the staff are smiling talkative and pleasant however after todays experience me and my partner came for a carvery and there was one particular member of staff running the pizza and burger table whose attitude towards her staff Members and customers was unbelievable, she shouted at the carvery staff for something she herself got wrong then when they went to assist she came to do mine and my boyfriends carvery, she was sulking and slammed our plates down sliced the meat and chucked it on the side, then picked the meat up and slammed it on our plates. She then again got angry at the staff that were trying there best to assist and get the fresh food out where she then said what the hell is this for, and the staff member politely it’s in your cheque. This really upset us as every time the carvery staff are so lovely and she was not nice to them! Such a shame and I found it rather hard biting my tongue - more for the way she treated the other staff. The two other men on the carvery were fabulous and don’t deserve to put up with this lady.

Definitely a good place to eat, been the one off times food been a bit odd but mostly lovely place to dine

The restaurant was full today. I put this down to the friendly staff, they all make you so welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

Came in for breakfast this morning, everything is really fresh and cooked perfectly, staff were really accommodating and polite. Will definitely be coming back 10/10

The Young Vanish has been a regular stop off and meeting point when traveling to see family for years. The prices are fair, the food is reasonable and the location is convenient.

Carvery was good but ran out of turkey, but could smell burning

I met up with a friend for a nice meal and a drink. I had a meat free carvery and the quality of the food and the service at the bar and at the carvery was excellent. If I was being really ultra-picky, I would say that the gravy was not labelled as being vegetarian like the rest of the carvery, however I have been numerous times and have asked staff about this before, so I know that it is. It would be nice if it was labelled though as some people could get confused. Other than that, an excellent experience and I will definitely be back.

We go to the Young Vanish as a family a few times each year. Normally on a Saturday evening around 5pm as this seems to be a nice time to be there. It can get quite busy if football is on but I'm not a football fan so avoid these times where possible. Food is always brilliant, good size portions and a good choice at the carvery. Staff always friendly and polite. Really is a nice place to go with the family.

Staff very polite and helpful towards myself and family members. We were left to enjoy our food in peace. When we needed help staff available. Food was tasty and warm. Place was clean. Car park, spaces available. Thank you for a lovely meal

Great eve spent with family, saved me cooking...one had carvery, one pizza and one festive burger which was delicious 😋...helpful and friendly staff. .will go again.

We go to the young vanish most weeks, the food is decent, Jordan Tara and all the staff are really helpful and go out of the way to make sure you leave feeling happy, myself my mum and my girls enjoy it here.

Zoe was lovely, went out of her way and managed to find us a table when fully booked

The waiting staff was fantastic, so helpful and went above and beyond for us, so give them a gold star

Have to say I’ve always had a first class meal and service here but today was different. Staff brilliant but food was not as good. Tough beef and cauliflower was raw and I couldn’t slice through it and the veg was defo frozen and not fresh although they might argue it was Yorkshire pudding wasn’t homemade either as it looked less risen and not as crispy as it has been in the past. I’m sure that the government imposing increased national insurance and taxes have forces businesses to either cut staff or quality. It was a nice treat to eat out but I left half of my plate and so did my friend. Have to say what I managed to eat was tasty but I’ve had better here.

Was very pleased with bar staff and others apart from staff serving carvery,food was ok but not great also having to pay 99p for a empty dish for my grandson to eat a little of our food as he is not quite 1yrs old yet I thought was disgusting won't be going there again soon

Absolutely a lovely family friendly place. Great atmosphere and it's brilliant we can bring our dog too. We have started to pop in more often for a lovely carvery too.

Always enjoy the carvery, 5 of us had it, good food, reasonably priced.

Top tip first, use the car park furthest from M1 - the other one is very small with limited room for turning around. I chose 3 tapas for £9.99 - great value. All the dishes were derp fried - vegetable dippers, salt & pepper mushrooms and prawn tempura. Batter was excellent on them all but I thought the dips were rather bland. My cousin had fish and chips, very good but serving on a piece of paper when there are mushy peas involved is not a good idea. Again very good value at £9.99 Soft drinks were expensive at over £3.50 for a pint of coke. We thought the server was offhand when we asked what the process was for ordering food.

Went for Sunday dinner didn’t realise we had to book staff member wasn’t very polite he said that we can sit there pointing out a table next to the bar when we asked if there were any other tables he said all booked has he frowned 2 minutes later a lady and 3 kids came in who haven’t booked and he showed them a table in the dining area looks like we caught him having a bad attitude minute other than that the food was great 👍

Carvery is brilliant, meaning the place is always very busy. We turned up 8 minutes early so couldn't get seated until we had drinks (that's fair enough). My only down side is it feels a bit like a cattle market, constantly rushing to get more bums on seats, which I understand as that is ultimately what makes the money. I'd advise booking in advance especially on a Sunday.

Carvery is always nice and hot. Plenty of choice. They also do a very good calzone. Staff are always friendly and polite.

If you want good food that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, then you may want to head here! Service is superb, food is beautiful, outdoor seating area (if ever ut stops raining lol) and large carpark. 100%recommend

Brilliant stop off point after a long journey. Toilets were immaculate and the staff are so friendly and professional.

Mostly the food was great little tight on the meat but otherwise good. Only thing I did have a problem with was the gravy was like water very very runny prefer thicker gravy. Maybe in future put a runny one out for the people that like it and a thicker one for me and anyone else that prefers it. Staff were very friendly and all had smiles, that’s why it’s one of my favourite places to eat.

I first booked for 4 people but 2 more was added on with no problem Then when we went to get our carvery as I was struggling because I just came out hospital the chef (wish I knew his name) shout for one of his staff didn't get her name either but I'm sure they know who they are I just can't thank them enough We are regulars at young vanish and will continue to be so Thank you once again Xxx

Came for a Sunday dinner, the food was lovely and the atmosphere was busy but pleasent. Had a large dinner which was a little too big. But was worth it. Everything was cooked lovely and the meat was really tasty. Only downside was it was really warm in there, especially when your having food.

Carvery was lovely. There was lots of choice for meat and veg and was good value for money. The staff was lovely even brought the dog and was made welcome in the bar area and he got lots of fusses and puppacino

Had fish and chips with garden peas fish was beautiful would have been nice if we got more chips there wasn’t even a hand full on my plate ask waitress were the rest of the chips were and she just said sorry and walked off . All 3 meals looks like children’s meals

Had carvery which was ok for the money but not brilliant! Beef was very fatty, yorkshire was clearly bought in, veg was a bit dry and the cauliflower cheese had no sauce at all where it had sat there so long it dried out! Probably would go again cos it's cheap and cheerful but wouldn't recommend for anything other than a quick, cheap meal.

Ordered soup with a carvery..my partner had eaten hos carvery before my soup arrived. Had to ask where my soup was...wasn't even busy 5.00 saturday 12th October ill not recommend

Stopped for cavery on way to Hardwick Hall. Food not bad, and drinks fine, roast potatoes particularly nice. If near by call in

The venue is unkept and not welcoming. The carvery staff were rude. My son (6) asked for gammon and turkey but he was rudely told no, he could only pick one. Children are apparently not equal to adults and are only allowed once choice of meat… when I questioned this I was rudely told “that’s just how it is, kids get one meat!” Now I am not sure what the difference is as he was given two small pieces of gammon so surely he could have had a slice of meat from each one. The gravy was watery and there were flies around the sauces. It was really quiet for a Saturday evening ,another family walked in and quickly left (I wish we’d had done the same). I made a complaint last time about a similar issue but clearly management are not taking our feedback on board and nothing will change. We will be travelling to Toby Carvery in future even though it is further away from us.

An excellent place to stop for breakfast, really friendly staff, buffet style so pick what you want, and very good value for money.

Decided to pop in for a drink and food after a shopping trip. Ordered 2 Gin & Tonics and 2 Carvery’s .. gins were poured then was told they didn’t have any Tonic which I find strange especially in a big place like this so decided to change our drinks order. The Carvery wasn’t as edible or as nice as it has been in the past and to be honest the place is looking really tired and unwelcoming.This used to be packed when we’ve been before and now just a handful of people in … The carvery meat wasn’t looking great inedible end pieces of gammon that were impossible to consume the turkey was very sad looking and not looking it’s best and the beef was obviously the cheaper cut as was half meat half gristle … all the veg was the frozen variety which is again obvious to see same with the yorkshire puddings and lumpy gravy.. in my opinion standards have definitely plummeted at this once nice place and we were very dissatisfied and won’t be returning in the future… management need to take a look at what their customers are seeing and make changes if they want this place to survive into the future ..

Starting to look very run down inside. Well ready for a lick of paint and a refurb. The food however was as good as ever.

Welcome to another edition of the breakfast club. This time we travelled to a rainy Glapwell to visit the Young Vanish pub for our brekky! A trek up M1 in torrential downpour led us to this fine establishment. We were given the VIP treatment as my colleague had reserved a table (top marks to Gaz). We all had a nice glass of Diet Coke to quench our thirsts from taking it too far the night before. The breakfast itself was impressive, an all you can eat style buffet putting Bartlewood Lodge to shame! It’s good but it’s not quite Filling Station…Just yet. The sausages were impressive aswell as the fried bread. Spaffsy had just secured some treacle’s number the night before so spirits were high! To note, the car park around the back is impressive with the size and layout, a play area for the little ones at the back too. We actually stopped off after the match for a drink because we thought highly of the establishment! To conclude a steady breakfast and lovely staff, impressive!

Carvery was rubbish every thing was cooked from frozen even the potatoes. Dismal atmosphere. Went late afternoon. Really gone downhill from last time I went. Won't be going back Food terrible 😡

The meat-free carvery was very good but the potatoes were a little hard and the gravy was not labelled up as being suitable for vegetarian, however the staff were really helpful and were happy to confirm this for us, although I think it should be labelled. That being said, we really enjoyed it and will definitely come back.

We had booked a table for the three of us as a treat for exam results day. When we got there, there was a server who past us and ‘show’ us to our table rather rudely. We were then told that there was no cooked food and there was only what was left of the carvery. As we sat down the three of us discussed that we should find somewhere else to have a nice me as we didn’t have much of a choice in what we could eat. Safe to say we probably won’t be going back as we aren’t sure if we’ll be treated properly the first time. I’d understand if we had just walked in and hadn’t book a table but we had reserved one so they could’ve at least show us to our table and spoken politely instead of rushing us and being so rude.

Came in with my family and friends on a busy Monday night earlier in the week and I had a delicious Philly pizza I think cooked by a chef called Liam I think that’s what the server said, the service was great and the carvery was really nice according to my friends

Food is very basic (burger like you'd get from a van on the motorway). Staff are friendly.

We were a party of seven who enjoyed the full English buffet breakfast. Have to mention the bacon. Best tasted bacon I have had for a very long time. I complimented the bacon with beans, tomatoes, fried slice, & soft white bread. Hot food on to a hot plate just as it should be. Clean throughout & polite cheerful staff. Good parking. This is my second breakfast here & it will not be the last.

Very busy on arrival so was a bit hectic. By the time the rest of our party arrived it had calmed down a little. Menu food was as per. Carvery, beef was a bit fatty and chicken a little dry, but otherwise everyone enjoyed their meals.

Went for food on a Friday night. Not at all busy but suited us. Staff very friendly and food very nice. Good value. Will definitely come back

Arrived at 11am ordered 2 full English breakfasts, very little choice staff said they only cook a few items at this time due to cost and wastage, had to wait for bacon, eggs, only a few beans and tomatoes left, there were other customers after us and I felt guilty taking items that others were also waiting for, staff were still taking orders for breakfasts at the bar while we were queuing?,

Pleasant feel to the place..i havent been for over 5 years..the food was hot and well cooked, very tasty and service was spot on.

Been back a few times now, food always good and very good value for money. Staff always very helpful and courteous, nothing ever a problem. My only niggle is getting into and out of the carpark. The footpath dropped curb needs widening to save accident s happening 👍

First time visit to to The Young Vanish despite passing by on numerous occasions. My first impression was that it all looked a bit tired and untidy. Bar full of empty glasses and only one member of staff running around cleaning tables. The layout is a bit strange with the carvery tucked away behind a wall. Menu looked ok with a good choice and the usual offering of mains and burgers that you would expect from a chain pub. Ordered via the app, which was straightforward enough. Halloumi fries for me and the boy chicken bites for the wife. Starters arrived in good time, but they were a bit disappointing. 5 prices of halloumi, each with a honey dip presentation, was non-existent and not even half a tomato as a garnish just 5 fries and dip in a white bowl. Chicken was 3 pieces and a BBQ dip again in a white bowl with no salad. Mains were a phillyy cheese burger and fries for myself, camembert for my wife and the philly steak pizza for the boy. All came out in good time, but the camembert was a little strange. My wife had to collect it from the pass and then go the carvery for her vegetables, bit different but hey she was happy that she could just get the vegetables she wanted. Pizza was a very thin base, not much meat, and the cheese was a cheese sauce, which my son wasn't a fan off as he said, " it just coated your mouth in gloomy cheese". Burger wasn't up to much more, two burger patties, cheese sauce, topped with a hash brown, and a bit of pulled beef on a brioche bun with a side of chip's. Expected it to come with some side of some sort, either salad or slaw but no just burger and chips. Burgers were bland with no seasoning of any sort, and the cheese sauce just meant it slid out the bun as you took ypir first bite. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience and nit one I'd been keen to repeat any time soon.
