Food excellent. Parking convenient. Problem is they have rammed the place with tables. So no privacy at all .

I must say pizza was really good, but burger fries, horrible , no sald, and the garlic sauce the worst. Defo we coming back for pizza 5 ***** but I think that it .

Making accomodation for my party of 10 at such short notice Some of party specifically wanted carvery others wanted pizza so The Young Vanish was the first choice

blue pills in the bathroom😜, but had to wait 20 mins for my brownie but was reasked what i ordered i just want to make it to starbucks for my starbucks caramel

Meat was very good, some of the vegetables were dry and overcooked, but still edible

We had 2 full works carvery and 4 traditional carvery with pigs in blankets, the menu said x5 pigs however the chef was adamant it was 3 and they haven't got the updated menus yet, also my son had a kids carvery which should come with free pudding, however when I asked if we could get his pudding we were told unless you tell them at the till when ordering the offer is invalid,

My Wife and I visited The Young Vanish Today as we have on many occasions. Normally the food and service is great and indeed the lady that served at the bar was very pleasant and friendly. Also the young gentleman that was serving at the carvery was also polite and friendly. Once he had served us our choice of meat he left to return to the kitchen. We moved down the counter and plated up with the selection but when we got to the Cauliflower Cheese (one of our favorite) the tray was empty. We stood patiently for about 3 or 5 mins to see if he returned but we could see he was busy in the back. A young lady, her name we could not get from her badge as it always seemed to be away from us, she was short, glasses , blond hair tied back in a pony tail, she looked like she was in charge of front of house. Anyway she walked past three times and just blanked the fact we was stood waiting. In the end as she came out of the kitchen for a third time I said.... excuse me is there any more Cauliflower Cheese. She stopped and said in a very patronizing way and while saying it turned her back on us to fiddle with something on the Pizza counter. They are doing it now sweetheart and as she then walked off said.. sometimes we just have to be a little bit patient, don't we. Both myself and my wife just stood there with our mouths open and my wife just said... omg wow, how rude. We did have to wait probably another five mins for the Cauliflower Cheese and the young man did pop out to counter a few times and apologized and said sorry it is coming very soon. Which is fine but no need for her to be rude to customers. I did not know if anyone had noticed it was empty, she did not know how long we had been waiting and we only asked as she walked past three times oblivious to us standing patiently waiting for service.

Nearly always smells like burnt pizza 🍕 😐 gets quite smokey and very hot in there

Carvary was lovely veg was fresh and tasty meat succulent and plenty of choices worth a try Lots of other meals are available But best is the Carvary

Very disappointed with the cleanliness of the place and the staff who were generally unkempt. The ladies loo needed at least a good scrub but desperate for a refit. The queue to order was ridiculously slow due to lack of staff. Three of us ordered scampi and a burger, all underwhelming. Will not return. Having written all this, the place was very busy with people eating a pile it high carvery! Perhaps they should go to Specsavers

Food was lovely but me and my family were stood waiting a good 4/minutes before someone finally came to serve us. The atmosphere I found to be a bit too busy and I found the layout of the tables could be better as I felt like I was crammed in. Other than that a great place and lovely food.

It was our first time visiting this restaurant. Upon entry, it appeared to be very busy. Fortunately, we had reserved a table, but since we were late, we expected it to have been taken up. Luckily for us, it wasn’t. We sat down and ordered the all-you-can-eat breakfast via the app – quite simple to do. Unsure of what to do next, I went to the bar where I was greeted by a lovely lady who was extremely helpful. We then went to get our breakfast, and there was a lot on offer! It was hot and plentiful. Though we didn’t visit the toilets, cleanliness throughout appeared to be kept on top of. Tables were cleared quickly. Overall, we can’t complain for the price! We highly recommend it for anyone who wants a place to catch up with friends over a cheap, all-you-can-eat, average-tasting breakfast! We will definitely be back! It's great value for money!

Good was ok meats and roasties in the carvery was nice but the veg was over cooked and the mash was like slop. Would have liked to have seen whole potatoes as another choice of potato as not everyone likes mash potato. The place could do with a smarting up as the decor is looking tired. The staff wasn’t very attentive they were too busy talking to each other than serving We wasn’t even asked if our meals were ok either, it’s just the little things that go a long way to make the experience better.

Lovely place the staff cannot do enough when we visit with a group from work. Always lovely service we have even started bringing takeaway carvery for those staff unlucky enough to mis out!

The manager dealt with the situation at the time but an employee was extremely rude to my sister regarding vegan gravy, getting into her personal space when completely uncalled for. It made her feel very intimidated and ruined the whole experience of mother day. He did this in front of her nieces. Completely aggressive and uncalled for behaviour.

Can highly recommend the young vanish for breakfast, the staff are all very friendly. My server (Lauri) was excellent when it came to my order. She explained everything to me as it was one of my first experiences with breakfast. So easy and simple, can’t wait to go again. The whole breakfast was cooked perfectly, even the chicken wings which I originally thought were strange for a breakfast but was surprisingly very tasty, you must try them.

Food was absolutely amazing just like every time we come here often, kitchen manager Glenice is lovely and always makes sure the food is amazing, jade the manager is so friendly and so polite and always makes sure we have a great experience.

Pizzas were nice could have done with a bigger quantity of toppings. Was a slight mistake with order but Zoe rectified it quickly and was very attentive.

The Young Vanish is a lovely warm and welcoming place to come for families to eat and for just a quiet drink. All of the staff are very hard working and helpful. Even when the staff are noticeably busy they remain polite and professional. Tara and Yvonne always find the time to welcome me and have a chat in passing which is nice. The staff and the quality of service is what keeps me coming in.

Food quite good. Didn't eat roast beef as almost rare. Other meat good. Yorkshire puddings bit hard. Had unlimited ice-cream. Could do with cleaning floor by toppings as as slip hazard. Staff quite helpful. Food order didn't come with all toppings so manager gave a free dessert or starter.Recent visit . Helpful staff and carvery calzone were good.Feb 2024. Good carvery meat. Plenty of vegetable choice . Roast potatoes were better than normal. No apple sauce available. Most staff friendly.

Nothing great, booked a table and got turned away as no tables even though we booked and no carvery left. Shocking.

This was retirement club meeting out and everyone enjoyed meal and a few hours in Newark.

Went today (Sunday) as a walk in. It was packed but staff quickly found a table for 2. I ordered the veggie root bake with cranberries & apricots as an accompaniment to the carvery vegetables and it was honestly absolutely delicious. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, roasties crispy. Nice cauliflower cheese, not full of humungous lumps of cauli. Noticed even the gravy was veggie too, with a vegan gravy option. Well impressed. Thankyou to the chefs for your hard work. It's really appreciated, especially when going out for a meal really is a treat nowadays when everything is so flipping expensive.

Came for a quick spot of lunch as a little bit of a treat for the Kids. Food was fantastic i had Carvery which was really tasty the beef was delicious. The pizzas were alot bigger than we expected and was able to take our left overs home in a takeaway box. Service is always great here was served by Jordan who was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Great visit and will definitely be returning.

Definitely will be (vanishing )if they don't teach the (young )unhelpful lazy staff how to work in the hospitality industry, absolutely rubbish

Table staff polite and nice, but carvery staff very rude with no customer service skills. That's if they are actually there, seem to spend most of the time out the back leaving everything unattended. And they insult people under their breath or when going into kitchen. Food was OK for the money, nothing special though.

Cant beat the Buffet Breakfast. We go every time we go on a lads jolly. Pint and big breakfast 😋 Great value carvery and burgers, plenty on the menu, nice pint of Guinness ☺️

Go for breakfast most Sundays It's spot on good value 👌 and well cooked 🍳 They've even got fried bread and black pudding. Keep up the good work 👏

Best carvery I’ve had in a long time

we’ve been going to young vanish for years and it only gets better. Amazing service, great staff and brilliant food.

Sunday evening family meal at the young vanish inn what a mistake. Starter of cheesey garlic bread erned them the star The cook as they certainly can not call himself a chief who served my carvery needs leasons in the art of carving what i got was a very small gammon steak with at best burnt pigs in bankets goodness knows how long they had spent sitting under the hot lamps with almost liquid mash. And gravy pots near empty As for dessert gone are the bowls for the unlimited icecream and replaced with small and I mean small paper tubs (see photo) the topping sauces had run out and had to ask a member of staff for the icecream sauces. While the sprinkels end up on the trays and not on your icecream. Surely with 3 members of waiting staff 2 bar staff and at least an other 3 cooks something this simple should be kept on top off. I recommend going to some other carvery which is £2 cheaper for the carvery and if wanted or needed you can go back for more veggie's. Plenty of parking though

Last minute decision to eat out. We had a lovely meal, served quickly, and well looked after as ever. The new berry sundae was a winner.

Carvery and pizzas are good. I love the no-nonsense order/payment system, particularly when ordering via the app. Staff are polite and friendly. Good value and nice family atmosphere 👍👊

Can't tick any stars, very Very poor on quality of food and service. One of the WORST MEALS I've ever had. Nobody asking if everything was alright with our meals. Would NEVER go again. Not recommended.

The food was so good! And the whole process was nice and simple from being shown our table, ordering at the bar and then going up to get our food. Really enjoyed it

First of all it's not Chesterfield, wrong side of the M1, Mansfield side of junction 29. Glapwell is the name of village to find it on the A617 Now to food, meat chioce was good and not dried up as some carvery meats can be veg was cooked well and Brussels were spot on- not undercooked (my taste) and of course for Pizza fans (next visit) This visit late in day 8.15pm so not sure how food would be but still good and freshly presented on carvery side, pizza side was busy as well and looked good when presented to customers so all round happy visit 25/7/23 Quick call in for food and wasn't disappointed so good meal. 28/9/23 Quick call in for food all good, service spot on, parking good . So what more do you need. 9/2/24 Bit different this time carvery was finished so it was ether pizza or standard pub menu. Wasn't disappointed so all good, as usual staff were friendly

What a fantastic and friendly pub. We were just passing and we were hungry. Thought we’d pop in made to feel very welcome by the staff food was great beer was better lol. We would highly recommend this pub for food, drink and the atmosphere

Having signed up to the Stonehouse app i had received a voucher for 50% off main meals which is an incredible deal. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming and could not do enough to help. We both had the Carvery which was wonderful the beef tasted delicious and genuinely could not recommend more to our friends. We will definitely be returning and hope to make use of some more great deals soon.

Having been for unlimited breakfast before we decided to visit The Young Vanish for an early Saturday evening meal as a family. The young lady behind the bar was very welcoming and was happy to show us to our reserved table and explained to us the ordering process. We had a mix of carvery and menu items and all food was excellent. The service and food quality here is always second to none and we will happily recommend to friends and family and will definitely be returning again.

We’d been on a walking trip and decided to book into the young vanish on our way home ,we arrived at our booking time and no one was available to show us to our booking table we flagged down a staff member who got the person allocating tables, we then decided to book through their app and completed order and payment we were sat ten minutes received drinks and carvery ticket,my daughter ordered a pizza, I ordered a carvery but decided to wait for her pizza to come,30 minutes in I said I’d get my carvery as her meal couldn’t be much longer,went to the carvery and waited with another customer in front for ten minutes with nobody to serve us,the person in charge was behind the pizza station and saw we were waiting,two members of staff chef uniform came out of kitchen walked straight past us and numerous waiting staff as well,the customer in front said how poor the service and I agreed,eventually the the person in charge told waiting staff to tell kitchen staff to come and serve,eventually I got my meal and went back to table and my daughters meal still hadn’t come, I flagged down a waitress and told her the order wasn’t complete,she then sent the person in charge who said they hadn’t received a ticket for her order and told her to order again and pay again ,my daughter showed him the app receipt and he said he’d go and make it ,waited a total Of 1.hr and 10 minutes for a pizza and carvery,we’ve been numerous times over the years but sadly won’t be going again!!

Lovely food, couldn't get a takeaway container though which is disappointing as different pubs of the same chain provide one.

Carvery can be very slow, sometimes they leave you stood there an age without even bothering to serve you, I can't figure out why they do it, as it never seems to happen at their Barlborough place the de Rhodes arms.. Food tends to be very good, but service is very slow.. Wouldn't stop me going but prepare to wait and age, especially if you order a pizza when they are busy..

Called in New Year’s Eve afternoon ordered pigs in blankets as an additional extra paid but when collecting my carvery was told they weren’t cooked I’d sat down and was half way through my carvery when they arrived. Still looking raw The meat was the only thing on the plate that had any taste. And to say they were only around 8 people in the establishment the service was poor 3 staff stood around while waiting to be served The staff all looked like ex convicts (no offence meant) And maybe a suggestion staff shouldn’t have their personal mobile phones. That way they may be less pre occupied My family and I have visited quite a few times over the years but sadly it’s becoming another declining premises where money comes before pride. Shame really

Absolutely the best carvery I have been to, head and shoulders above the rest for quality of food, everything fresh and cooked to perfection, others may have more choices of vegetables but there is no substitute for quality. Just to add that the carvery breakfast is also fantastic. Wouldn't go anywhere else locally.

Christmas dinner just right every department…

Although the evening was good being with family for Xmas, the edge was taken off a bit by the pub, firstly when we ordered drinks, gin and tonics (standard fare these days) and we're told sorry no tonics, Friday night 3 days before Xmas!!! So ordered Britvic orange instead, sorry no Britvic!!! Ordered the food breaded mushrooms for starters, they were a bit hard and lukewarm, main course, carvery, was ok, 4 of us ordered sticky toffee pudding for dessert, the waitress came back to ask who wanted ice cream or custard, the came back again to inform us they only had 3 left!!! To say we were a bit disappointed is an understatement, but at £14.50 for a 3 course meal I suppose you get what you pay for 🤔☹️

The place itself needs a revamp. But above all it needs cleaning along with new staff uniforms, and cleanliness!!! B/fast ok if you get there first opening

Over the years I have had a carvery at just after 12-0 & it has been really good. On this basis I recommended too my family who came down from Leeds. We turned up at 4-30. The meat & roast potatoes had obviously been kept warm from lunch time & were totally dried out. In future I will be going at 12-0 & after 6-30

Only negative is that they ran out of turkey at the carvery, i had beef instead but it was extremely fatty!!

No eggs had to ask for table to be cleaned a jar of coffee to make your own dust in the air dirty place grand son was served coke in a dirty glass asked for another yet again dirty glass the guy behind the bar had to go through mugs for two clean ones for coffee what a s t hole never again. BEEN again today lovely enjoyed everything eggs great not snotty everything looked and tasted great will be back great really enjoyed it thanks

Breakfast was piping hot and delicious. Had to wait a while for bread to be topped up to make toast, which meant standing around waiting. Luckily, the breakfast I had was fresh so piping hot. Can't fault the quality. Lovely sausages, perfect, runny, fried eggs, crispy hash browns and thick bacon. Perfect! Minor thing and I appreciate money is tight but entrance area to toilets could do with a lick of cheap paint as it's tired and dirty. Also, although it wasn't directed about me, 2 members of staff were calling a customer who had asked for some sugar for her coffee as they had ran out. The language they were using about her was definitely inappropriate for a family pub and for how busy it was. Although I love it here, it isn't the first time I've heard staff calling customers or complaining how long their shifts are or bickering about other staff. Quite unprofessional and felt uncomfortable as we were sat close by trying to enjoy a relaxed breakfast. Credit to the kitchen staff though who work tirelessly to keep the buffet breakfast replenished.

Go to the young vanish regularly, but today the food wasn't that good. But the service was as good as it always has been
