Excellent food and service as always

Had a meal here a couple of weeks ago with some friends and bumped into some old friends not seen for a while, we enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere, would definitely recommend 😊

Came for a Sunday dinner, the food was lovely and the atmosphere was busy but pleasent. Had a large dinner which was a little too big. But was worth it. Everything was cooked lovely and the meat was really tasty. Only downside was it was really warm in there, especially when your having food.

Carvery was lovely. There was lots of choice for meat and veg and was good value for money. The staff was lovely even brought the dog and was made welcome in the bar area and he got lots of fusses and puppacino

Had carvery which was ok for the money but not brilliant! Beef was very fatty, yorkshire was clearly bought in, veg was a bit dry and the cauliflower cheese had no sauce at all where it had sat there so long it dried out! Probably would go again cos it's cheap and cheerful but wouldn't recommend for anything other than a quick, cheap meal.

Had fish and chips with garden peas fish was beautiful would have been nice if we got more chips there wasn’t even a hand full on my plate ask waitress were the rest of the chips were and she just said sorry and walked off . All 3 meals looks like children’s meals

Ordered soup with a carvery..my partner had eaten hos carvery before my soup arrived. Had to ask where my soup was...wasn't even busy 5.00 saturday 12th October ill not recommend

Stunning service once again! We were served by Katie who was amazing, she helped us out whenever we needed it and was always there with a smile on her face. Spoke to one of the chefs (Sam) who was stocking the veg at the time and we couldn’t stop laughing! He was quick with the jokes and made sure we was enjoying our time as much as possible. Such a wonderful experience would definitely recommend.

The venue is unkept and not welcoming. The carvery staff were rude. My son (6) asked for gammon and turkey but he was rudely told no, he could only pick one. Children are apparently not equal to adults and are only allowed once choice of meat… when I questioned this I was rudely told “that’s just how it is, kids get one meat!” Now I am not sure what the difference is as he was given two small pieces of gammon so surely he could have had a slice of meat from each one. The gravy was watery and there were flies around the sauces. It was really quiet for a Saturday evening ,another family walked in and quickly left (I wish we’d had done the same). I made a complaint last time about a similar issue but clearly management are not taking our feedback on board and nothing will change. We will be travelling to Toby Carvery in future even though it is further away from us.

Decided to pop in for a drink and food after a shopping trip. Ordered 2 Gin & Tonics and 2 Carvery’s .. gins were poured then was told they didn’t have any Tonic which I find strange especially in a big place like this so decided to change our drinks order. The Carvery wasn’t as edible or as nice as it has been in the past and to be honest the place is looking really tired and unwelcoming.This used to be packed when we’ve been before and now just a handful of people in … The carvery meat wasn’t looking great inedible end pieces of gammon that were impossible to consume the turkey was very sad looking and not looking it’s best and the beef was obviously the cheaper cut as was half meat half gristle … all the veg was the frozen variety which is again obvious to see same with the yorkshire puddings and lumpy gravy.. in my opinion standards have definitely plummeted at this once nice place and we were very dissatisfied and won’t be returning in the future… management need to take a look at what their customers are seeing and make changes if they want this place to survive into the future ..

Starting to look very run down inside. Well ready for a lick of paint and a refurb. The food however was as good as ever.

Welcome to another edition of the breakfast club. This time we travelled to a rainy Glapwell to visit the Young Vanish pub for our brekky! A trek up M1 in torrential downpour led us to this fine establishment. We were given the VIP treatment as my colleague had reserved a table (top marks to Gaz). We all had a nice glass of Diet Coke to quench our thirsts from taking it too far the night before. The breakfast itself was impressive, an all you can eat style buffet putting Bartlewood Lodge to shame! It’s good but it’s not quite Filling Station…Just yet. The sausages were impressive aswell as the fried bread. Spaffsy had just secured some treacle’s number the night before so spirits were high! To note, the car park around the back is impressive with the size and layout, a play area for the little ones at the back too. We actually stopped off after the match for a drink because we thought highly of the establishment! To conclude a steady breakfast and lovely staff, impressive!

Carvery was rubbish every thing was cooked from frozen even the potatoes. Dismal atmosphere. Went late afternoon. Really gone downhill from last time I went. Won't be going back Food terrible 😡

The meat-free carvery was very good but the potatoes were a little hard and the gravy was not labelled up as being suitable for vegetarian, however the staff were really helpful and were happy to confirm this for us, although I think it should be labelled. That being said, we really enjoyed it and will definitely come back.

We had booked a table for the three of us as a treat for exam results day. When we got there, there was a server who past us and ‘show’ us to our table rather rudely. We were then told that there was no cooked food and there was only what was left of the carvery. As we sat down the three of us discussed that we should find somewhere else to have a nice me as we didn’t have much of a choice in what we could eat. Safe to say we probably won’t be going back as we aren’t sure if we’ll be treated properly the first time. I’d understand if we had just walked in and hadn’t book a table but we had reserved one so they could’ve at least show us to our table and spoken politely instead of rushing us and being so rude.

Came in with my family and friends on a busy Monday night earlier in the week and I had a delicious Philly pizza I think cooked by a chef called Liam I think that’s what the server said, the service was great and the carvery was really nice according to my friends

Food is very basic (burger like you'd get from a van on the motorway). Staff are friendly.

We were a party of seven who enjoyed the full English buffet breakfast. Have to mention the bacon. Best tasted bacon I have had for a very long time. I complimented the bacon with beans, tomatoes, fried slice, & soft white bread. Hot food on to a hot plate just as it should be. Clean throughout & polite cheerful staff. Good parking. This is my second breakfast here & it will not be the last.

Very busy on arrival so was a bit hectic. By the time the rest of our party arrived it had calmed down a little. Menu food was as per. Carvery, beef was a bit fatty and chicken a little dry, but otherwise everyone enjoyed their meals.

Went for food on a Friday night. Not at all busy but suited us. Staff very friendly and food very nice. Good value. Will definitely come back

Broke down with a flat tyre and managed to park in the carpark. All staff were amazing even bought me coffees out to my car whilst I waited to be rescued. Amazing thank you x

Arrived at 11am ordered 2 full English breakfasts, very little choice staff said they only cook a few items at this time due to cost and wastage, had to wait for bacon, eggs, only a few beans and tomatoes left, there were other customers after us and I felt guilty taking items that others were also waiting for, staff were still taking orders for breakfasts at the bar while we were queuing?,

Pleasant feel to the place..i havent been for over 5 years..the food was hot and well cooked, very tasty and service was spot on.

Last minute decision to go for a meal but managed to easily book a table. Decided to have the carvery and it was delicious

Been back a few times now, food always good and very good value for money. Staff always very helpful and courteous, nothing ever a problem. My only niggle is getting into and out of the carpark. The footpath dropped curb needs widening to save accident s happening 👍

First time visit to to The Young Vanish despite passing by on numerous occasions. My first impression was that it all looked a bit tired and untidy. Bar full of empty glasses and only one member of staff running around cleaning tables. The layout is a bit strange with the carvery tucked away behind a wall. Menu looked ok with a good choice and the usual offering of mains and burgers that you would expect from a chain pub. Ordered via the app, which was straightforward enough. Halloumi fries for me and the boy chicken bites for the wife. Starters arrived in good time, but they were a bit disappointing. 5 prices of halloumi, each with a honey dip presentation, was non-existent and not even half a tomato as a garnish just 5 fries and dip in a white bowl. Chicken was 3 pieces and a BBQ dip again in a white bowl with no salad. Mains were a phillyy cheese burger and fries for myself, camembert for my wife and the philly steak pizza for the boy. All came out in good time, but the camembert was a little strange. My wife had to collect it from the pass and then go the carvery for her vegetables, bit different but hey she was happy that she could just get the vegetables she wanted. Pizza was a very thin base, not much meat, and the cheese was a cheese sauce, which my son wasn't a fan off as he said, " it just coated your mouth in gloomy cheese". Burger wasn't up to much more, two burger patties, cheese sauce, topped with a hash brown, and a bit of pulled beef on a brioche bun with a side of chip's. Expected it to come with some side of some sort, either salad or slaw but no just burger and chips. Burgers were bland with no seasoning of any sort, and the cheese sauce just meant it slid out the bun as you took ypir first bite. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience and nit one I'd been keen to repeat any time soon.

Recently moved to the area and have heard nothing but great things about this beautiful pub and was not disappointed. The Carvery was delicious with plenty of choice by far the best in the local area. Staff were all friendly and could not do enough to help. Will definitely be returning to try the breakfast which looks incredible value for money.

Stopped over here whilst visiting Chesterfield, atmosphere was lovely and the staff were super friendly, the food was amazing, would be happy to visit again.

I called in yesterday, for the first time, and as I made my way to the bar I noticed the carvery, so I ordered my drink and meal (carvery) directly at the bar, having not looked at the menu. A carvery ticket was issued, and I went there to find no staff. I started to put food on my plate, including pigs in blankets, when an extremely rude young man appeared, and actually snatched the plate out of my hand! He said that I could not just start loading my plate, and demanded, not asked, to see my ticket. I was then told that pig's in blankets were £1.50 each, which I wasn't aware of not having consulted the menu, nor did the bar person inform me of this. After this, very bad, start, he then carved me 2 wafer thin slices of meat, muttering something about did we expect to carve our own meat also. I then continued filling my plate with mashed potatoes that were watery, cabbage which I felt was undercooked, cauliflower cheese (ok) and roast potatoes (passable). I did not really enjoy my meal, due to the bad attitude of the server, and I certainly won't be returning any time soon. 1 star for his attitude.

Well where do I start .... we was out for my mum's 79 birthday and its where she want to go . We got there and there was no disabled parking left . Finally got her in there and we was sitted straight away which was a good start,. We paid and decided to get the food which I have to say was going OK until then !!!! We waited to be served and was greeted by the last bits of pork which you can see by the photo it was dry and the beef looked full of fat ... I asked if the was bring fresh to be told very rude that this has to be used first.... AS A PAYING CUSTOMER WE SHOULD GET WHAT WE ASKED FOR WHICH WAS FRESH MEAT ...so I said I would wait ... waited another 10 minutes before fresh came out the kitchen so I was there waiting to get my Mum's dinner ... the server then tried to give the dry meat so at that stage I was done... I don't know who I spoke to but they was rude too.. he told the server to give me fresh meat .... IN ALL MY JOBS I WAS TOLD THAT THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT ... finally got some dinner which wasn't the best .. but spoilt my MUMS birthday dinner

This is a great place had our Sunday lunch here today The food was delicious it was so good the meat was delicious and the potatoes both mash and roasted were just right I especially liked the Yorkshire puddings they were gorgeous The service is great and they are so friendly nothing was to much trouble for them The sweet menu was well stocked I had apple pie with ice cream witch wasn’t actually on the menu but they served it with no fuss Overall very nice place to have a great family dinner Price was well worth it as you feel you have been well looked after The portions are just right as well We have already booked for next month

Food was fine and a fair price ,but drinks I nearly fell through the floor,£16.00 for 4 glasses of coke,basically syrup and soda,and a pint of brew dog.

Enjoyed the new frozen food menu new style.

This place has seriously improved over the years so I'd recommend it now for a quick breakfest or a quick carvery if you're local. 😊

Normally have a good meal here but we called in with 2 friends and had carvery. Later that evening we were all suffering from an upset stomach

Come to the pub on the 6.6.24 and I come every week and have to say the staff that work there are relly good and go out there way to help overs

Went for a lovely dinner with the family booked are table by phone. When we arrived was seated by amie who explained the ordering service all staff was friendly and helpful as could see they was busy. When are food was ready was told by amie that we could collect from pizza station. Food was very nice and wasn't under the light too long like some places. After are meal was asked if we wanted everything else we was to full so decided not to but all together was a fantastic meal out and would definitely come back and we highly recommend.

Just want to say, that the service in this pub is amazing, Lauri and Tara are the stars of this place with Bobby a close Second. All the staff are brilliant from the bar staff, to waiting on, and kitchen staff. 5* well deserved in my opinion

Visit this place often is always great for a get together with friends. Great drinks selection and menu. I always go for the carvery as the beef is delicious and fantastic selection of vegetables available. The staff are always friendly and welcoming but not over bearing which is just right. I would absolutely recommend to oay a visit as it caters for every age and you will not be disappointed.

Superb value and great food with friendly staff

Not really sure where to start! The food was cheap in price and you could certainly taste it was! I know you get what you pay for, however the food was beyond cheap! As for the "customer service" there wasn't really any! We had been waiting for about half an hour after we had been served our mains, so I asked a member of staff if our desserts were coming to which she replied very abruptly "have you asked a member of staff" so I was like no I'm asking you as you are a member of staff, to which she just grunted at me! The whole demeanor and attitude of staff members was actually appalling. We will certainly NOT be visiting here again!! My advice to anyone wanting to try it, is don't bother!

7of is got together for a meal,food a little cool but a waitress began clearing the table when 2of us were still eating

Food all dried up. Staff had no manners. Toilets had toilet paper all over the floor and were dirty.

Arrived about 19:15 try to order on app that didn't work. Food was not very nice pigs in blankets like bullets cauliflower cheese was under cooked. No apple sauce for the pork. Bar staff didn't know how to pour Guinness, never offered glasses for bottle drinks until prompted. At 20:00 went to order puddings and abruptly told food stopped at 20:00 and refused to serve me leaving my guests very disappointed.

Arrived just after 11:00 not realizing that breakfast finished at 11:30. My all you can eat breakfast plate was completed when the staff asked the chef to make me two fried eggs as there was only one left at the carvery station. They quickly arrived and I continued with my food.

I've taken lunch at The Young Vanish four or five times and it's always been great. Generally, I'm with friends or my two brothers when we take time to refresh our family bonds. Fair enough, sometimes the vegetables can be a bit soft for my liking but food is a very subjective thing and I would not complain. Also. I think softer veg is a thing with carveries. I love that there's no awful music, and that the staff are very pleasant and attentive and that 0% Guiness is available. I like this place and will come again.

Food was absolutely amazing just like every time we come here often, kitchen manager Glenice is lovely and always makes sure the food is amazing, jade the manager is so friendly and so polite and always makes sure we have a great experience.

The only issue I had and it’s only minor, on this occasion we were on table 1, underneath the air conditioning, which was running. My food was getting cold before I had chance to eat it. We didn’t ask to move seats because all of the tables for 2 were full. As I say, it’s nothing major

Booked a table online very simple and easy to do. When we arrived a member of staff pointed out to ua which table was reserved for us and explained how to order as this was our first time visiting this pub. All staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The manager we have met before at another branch of the Stonehouse pubs and she took the time to have a good catch up with us which was lovely. Carvery was great fantastic selection of veg and meat was cooked to perfection 👌 we would definitely recommend this wonderful pub to our friends and family and will certainly be returning again soon.

The turkey was extremely dry, very small portions and very little veg left what was left was dried and looked like it had been there a while. Won’t be returning any time soon.
