Came with a party of 11 fussy eaters , nothing was to much trouble . Ordering and changing items on the menu was a breeze . Last minute drop in and the staff were very accommodating. Delightful carvery even though it was nearly finished all the vegetables were hot and fresh. Megan served us she was so nice and directive of what we needed to do. I will be recommending to family!

Good range of hot drinks, especially at breakfast when it’s unlimited, even better for a coffee drinker like me. It can also be had with a small pudding, which I enjoyed. Megan was good at serving me, lovely young lady.

Regular for breakfast, always enjoy the food and unlimited coffee, Megan and Emma make the experience good being friendly and always helping us where we need.

Food were great and the waitress Megan H were absolutely fantastic, nothing was too hard or difficult. Catered to my families needs would highly recommend.

Pizzas are bang on especially the fajita chicken with salsa,sour cream & guacamole tasted like a burrito on pizza. Sharing Starters are great value for money. Definitely worth revisiting.

Had great experience with Fish and chips in this place. Tried their burgers as well they have wide range of options i had southern fried bbq burger. Desserts are spot on that toffee pudding with custard is my go to.

When I say this place is the best, its and understatement! They always cater to my needs, food is delicious, especially fish and chip. Top standards. And the staff are friendly, especially Megan and Louise, can always count on them to have service with a smile and give the best quality customer care. This is why I will always come back. The ice cream station, all you can eat as well just tops it off, can’t beat it.

We go here quite often. We went for our tea. We had the burger meal deal. We have tried a lot of the meal deals. Also we quite often go to collect TGTG bags. We like the food here and it is always v nice. We also have a drink and sometimes sit outside (depending on the weather). The staff are always helpful and polite. Just lately we always seem to be served by Megan. Megan is a pretty,dark haired girl (don't know her last name). She always has a smile and it's professional/friendly/helpful at all times. She always seems to be v busy. We will be back soon.

I like to call in here after work to unwind. Louise is always chatty and welcoming. The girls on the bar are always chatty and make me feel welcome too.

Great food, brilliant service with friendly staff. Megan greeted us and got us seated quickly. Louise brought our food out, she was very friendly and made sure everything was ok with our meal.

We came for dinner as a family and the food was absolutely delicious there was a good range on the menu for everyone. Our waitress Megan was brilliant at her job, went out of her way to ensure our experience was amazing! she gave us a great experience with good advice on what to choose and made sure it was quick! Honestly this was the saddest pub/restaurant experience I personally may have ever had. Food- Absolutely shocking, sad and not worth the calories. We had 3 for £9.99 Crispy chicken with garlic mayo 3 nuggets on a bed of iceberg lettuce, absolutely shocking, frozen tosh. Buffalo chicken wings- 3 small wings on a bed of iceberg lettuce (they love a bit of iceberg lettuce) ps we got the Carolina rapper wings not buffalo, rubbish no the less! Garlic flatbread- This reminded me of when you get sand in your mouth on the beach on holiday. Rubbish! Simply beef burger- frozen bought in beef patties that looked like digestive biscuits. Simply rubbish! Simply crispy chicken burger- simply bought in frozen chicken fillet, again dryer than a bucket of sawdust! Gammon and eggs- which is just the ham from the carvery with inedible brown garden peas a two perfectly cooked eggs hahaha My kids had the ice cream refills which was the best bit. Every time the ice cream machine kicked in it scared all the kids stood waiting. Sticky toffee pudding- wasn’t sticky, dry (definitely microwaved) and just so sad. * Had to ask for this twice from the lady at the bar Service- I’m not going to be to harsh on the FOH team because it’s clear they are doing things by the M&B book, but it was pretty poor. No glasses cleared, plates sat on the end of our table for 45 mins, no check backs. Atmosphere- There is none. It’s just a pub full of people queuing for a carvery. As you can probably guess, we will not be returning so please make sure the RBM for this brand gets to see this feedback. Feel free to send me a response because I’d love to hear what you think!

It was very nice dinner very hot staff was very welcome I would like to ask if I can give the names which was cj the carvery and she did come and ask if I need help carrying my food to the table as the other staff was very busy I said if u don't mind that will be very help full

The kids loved the pizzas then ice cream for dessert with lots of toppings and sauce to choose from. We had carvery which was tasty with a good selection of vegetables.

We visited on Monday evening. We had pizza and burgers. The food was tasty and the staff were friendly. I would recommend visiting Derodes.

Been going to De Rhodes for some time now, always for breakfasts as it's close to where we visit. Never had what you would call a brilliant breakfast there but they've all been pretty good {with a couple of passables}. I went this morning and I was let down terribly, the bacon was the saltiest I've tasted there, the black pudding was as edible as a hockey puck and as for the eggs well they were just like those plastic trick ones you get in a joke shop, and they tasted like it too. The wife had one egg and I had two and we left all three very disappointing all round. From now on it's the young vanish for breakfast.

Enjoyed a lovely carvery meal again. Service very good also.

Went for Sunday carvery. Food wasn't bad. Hardly any deserts to choose from, so didn't bother.

I've regularly eaten at Stonhouse restaurants, The young Vanish, Moorhouse & today at DeRhodes Arms Barlborough. Today is Easter Sunday & we dined at 6pm, the restaurant wasn't busy at all & the meat selection was Beef, Turkey, Pork & Gammon, all of which had just been refilled.I opted for the Large carvery as I am a meat lover...I was very disappointed with the amount of meat that I was given....I had a small wafer thin piece of beef, a tiny piece of pork & again a tiny piece of turkey....I asked if I could have another piece of turkey, the sever grunted disapprovingly & put me another piece of turkey of around the size of a small tomato. In all there wasn't enough meat on my plate to cover the palm of my hand....please bear in mind that I had pad for extra meat. Last Sunday at Moorhouse I was given 3 times the amount of meat on their large carvery which is the usual amount when eating there....I wasn't asked at any time if everything was OK & when I spoke to the waitress she shrugged her shoulders & walked away....hence this negative review.

Me and my little one go here every Sunday for the breakfast buffet and we love it! The food is great value for money and we are often waited on by either Meg or Emma who are both friendly and very helpful and quick to act if we need anything. Would definitely recommend.

My friend and I went to De -Rhodes for breakfast Monday 25th march 2024 , to be honest the breakfast was very poor. Bacon under cooked and the fried bread was not even cooked on one side looked like they put to many slices in at once, fried eggs like bullets and swimming in grease. Horrible experience all round. The staff didn't seem interested when I asked the question about the breakfast.

Not enough staff!! If staff off sick must have back up plan in place, this was good Friday so potentially you knew you would be busy. Food was left on side until my husband went to check where it was So food was cold before it left the counter, pizza and fish and chips were cold, not enjoyable and the batter was soggy on the fish because it sat on the counter. We did get a refund for the pizza and fish and chips, the deserts were hot and tasty just a shame about main courses being cold. A lady and 2 men came in one man had carvery and had eaten his before the other 2 guests lunches came so they came out together but had to eat separately, not good really if you come out as a family you expect to eat together. Sorry but doubt we will re visit. The server with blonde hair in a pony tail and yellow jumper was apologetic and got us a refund which was nice of her.

We went here for a meal for my son’s birthday it was excellent food and we felt welcomed since we walked in, all the staff were helpful especially Megan, she was always smiling and was very polite. Will definitely be coming back here

Visited as a family, amazed how quick and friendly the service was. The food topped it off we all enjoyed our meal on the buffet carvery. Young lady I think called Meg was really helpful with us. Recommend 100%!

Food is lovely, the dirty Philly pizza is best around. You’ll find something for everyone on the menu as they also helped cater for our allergen with our daughter who is dairy intolerant. The girl Megan got her some strawberries so she didn’t miss out on desert. This made us very happy and will 100% be returning. Great staff and great food.

I come regularly on my own and I will not stop. It is outstanding service, the food is always delicious with good choice off vegetables. Our regular waitress Megan young blonde has always made us feel welcome has a good laugh and makes sure everything is top notch.

Had lovely lunch at a very reasonable price, carvery was huge , hot and plenty of choice the 2/3 course set meal price was only around £11/12. Great value for money, can’t take dogs in but plenty of space outside and the staff (Emma and Linda) were very friendly and obliging

Food isn't that great take away breakfast is "all you can eat" but they limit everything! I was disappointed with the food and probably won't go back, the young lady on the bar was lovely and attentive

Lovely venue, staff and food. We visit every Sunday morning for breakfast and wouldn’t go anywhere else. The restaurant itself is always clean and all of the staff are welcoming and helpful especially Meg. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely fabulous place great value for money and wonderful family atmosphere. Meg and Emma go above and beyond to make sure you want for nothing. We go every week and are made so very welcome.

We had a pizza party for my daughter’s 9th birthday today and it was excellent. The staff were friendly and made sure everything went smoothly. It was brilliant value for money and all children enjoyed it, I would definitely recommend it.

Just had my sons 8th birthday party here, we did the pizza making party and it was brilliant. I’ve been swapping and changes the numbers since booking (sorry!) but they was so accommodating. The manager who hosted the party couldn’t have done a better job, 8x 8 year old boys making a pizza each including the bases! To finish bottomless ice cream and a gift bag for them all. Thank you so much for making this exactly what he wanted and more than I had expected! There was no hidden costs, I paid a set price per child and got pizza chips and drinks.

I have been to several Stonehouse carvery pubs and De rodes is by far the worst. The meat portions were so mean. The turkey was cut so thin you could see through it. Furniture was filthy. Organisation was poor. We will not go here again.

Yesterday was the second visit this year. The first was to eat in the second for a take away and both for the carvery. I was disappointed with the choice of vegetables on both occasions when compared to other venues and the quality left much to be desired. All were luke warm and had been left to stand way beyond the time they should have been. Yorkshire puds that my knife couldn't cut and roasties like cardboard. The gravy may as well gave come out of the fridge. Having said all that the beef was beautifully cooked.

The service was poor. We waited more than an hour for food, and the staff do not appear to communicate with one another.

Visited this evening, have been many times before and always had a good meal but unfortunately things seem to have gone down hill. My husband and kids ordered burgers but they are very cheap burgers and no one enjoyed them. I had carvery, quite a lot of the carvery was overcooked, blackened roast potatoes and pigs in blankets. Sadly we won't be back in a hurry

we have been the De Rodes many tines during the week, it was first time we went on saturday. the meats were small and thin on the standard carvery. it was mush less than during the week.

Popped in here today on the way past for some breakfast. Unfortunately we had missed breakfast so had a standard carvery, instead. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was very tasty and plentiful. It's a fair way from where we live but would drop in again if passing

Visited today with my family I always have been impressed and would recommend to people but not today shocking no organisation. Food wasn't very good on the carvery realy disappointed no gravy people had got there carvery and was waiting 15.ins maybe longer for more gravy by this time there meals had gone cold no communication. Between staff .total disaster my husband was offered another meal but after he had queud for ages he give up as didn't want to go up again and have another long wait in the queue..but the manager was fantastic dealt with the situation and offered my money back or a free meal for 2 but we will go back again I think they should let tables go up so many at a time we ordered out drinks my coffee was cold by the time I got my food

Lots of people crammed into a small space, don't bother with the Yorkshire puddings they are very soggy, had to wait for 30 minutes for my grand daughter to get her dessert, queue could be more organized.

Been coming here for years. Over the last few weeks the food on the carvery has got worse. Green beans very over cooked, sloppy mash with cheese in. Cauliflower was hard. A pan of watery gravy with big pieces of onion I. Was not good value for money as had to pay full price, as I don't have an which gave deal on carvery. I am 75 my friend is 92. When we complained, manager offered to put an on my phone but no apology and no refund. Have to really think if I bother going again

Food definitely set up for a Carvery, we orded from the menu I had a house burger which for me was over cooked and the bacon was missing, the other person had scampi and chips no tartar sauce and the garden peas we're cold. I would come back and try the Carvery.

Roasties were over cooked, verging on burnt, mash you could drink they were so watery, and the gravy was like brown tap water, no better than a soup kitchen.

Our favourite place for a carvery. Dropped a star on service only because there's always a long wait to order and pay for food and drinks at the bar but that's probably because its so popular.

Took my grandson, this Sunday just gone, Very satisfying breakfast, Emma served us and I think she said Morgan was the chef, both very helpful and pleasant, enjoyed our first experience there will be going again

Been for the carvery today with my sister for my birthday I booked on line for 1:30pm it was so busy with ques waiting to be seated , and ques at the bar for drinks and food orders by the time we got our food it was 2:15pm my sister is disabled I requested when booking a table accessible for easy movement well we coulda’t have been seated any further away from the bar and carvery area but with it being busy we just made do, I seated my sister and made my way to the first que for our drinks and food order 15 minutes took our drinks to our table then joined the queue for the carvery 35 minutes took our food to our table, but the wait was worth while the food was delicious 😋 hot and very tasty we both enjoyed our lunch, the staff were very pleasant and our table was quickly cleared and we were asked if we had enjoyed it …. To the answer of yes thank you very much, so even though the process was slow our dining experience was excellent, next time we will look at a later time in the day …. Obviously between 1pm - 2:30pm is the busiest time. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Food is good if you time it right and no complaints today. However the food wasn't even on the hot plate at 12.10 and the queue was massive. I waited 35 mins before being served. Also my disabled mother was with me and was very uncomfortable on her chair, when she asked a server if she could help her change chairs she flatly refused.

When we went there were no soft drinks from the pump, limited soft drinks in the fridge, only a few bits of meat left and veg tasted like it was from frozen

It is always a great place to eat, a very warm and cosy pub and the food is always great.

Ordinarily this place has always been good for food (hence why this was my first choice) The last visit was not ideal but mistakes were corrected (I didn't leave a review) so I thought we would give it another chance.... I wish I hadn't bothered! I visited with 8 family members for my birthday meal and we placed orders separately (3 orders) and asked for the food to be served together. The food came out at different times and was cold. It wasn't particularly busy, yet we waited around 50 minutes...for cold food. We had to send cold food back, my pizza had hardly any toppings (4 small pieces of mushroom?) or cheese on it and was so well done the crust was inedible. One of the others was burnt on the bottom. The self serve ice cream was melted and extremely tasteless... fortunately, there are sauces to give it a little flavour. The staff were lovely but nonetheless a very disappointing visit.. We certainly won't be rushing back there to eat! Not only has food/service/wait times failed to improve... They are much worse now.

Hot food, Could do with more food being topped up regular, staff friendly.

I arrived earlier than I normally do but quick service and plenty of food ready. Eggs are always a bit of a lottery as all pre-cooked so trying to find a runny fried egg is often a matter of luck. Otherwise all other food great and this morning beans not running in sauce which was great. Emma always welcoming and rest of staff are OK. One on the till was a bit over gushy!

Salad bar could have been better

We visited at about 3 pm. Only gripe the gravy bowls were nearly empty and the gravy was a bit congealed. It was my free birthday treat so can't grumble, overall we enjoyed our visit. Thankyou

I come for food on a Thursday dinner and I’m always greeted with a smile from Megan, she’s a great asset to the team and if there’s ever a reason to come back it’s the service with a smile! As well as the great service, I always enjoy my carvery, the roast potatoes are my favourite from anywhere. There’s always an option if you’re a picky eater, or have a spesific dietary needs, so I will always be returning!

Been for a dinner on Wednesday, the meat was so tasty. Along with the veg,one of the only places I've been that have fresh steamy vegetables at all times of the day.Its a happy environment, Megan and Louise were great with their service. Directed us right to where we needed to be, and they always have a smile on their face, best mother daughter duo I must add, haha! Visit here and you won't be disappointed with great food,great environment and lovely staff!

I always pop in for a coffee and dinner on my work break, without a doubt the best place around for quick hot dinner. Food is always delicious with a great range of options on the veg deck for Carvey. And Louise who is usually on when I go in welcomes me with a friendly chat and guides me where to go if I need. She's one of a kind! Also, a shout out to Megan , vicki and Emma who were on breakfast, they made me feel very comfortable, chatty ladies and were service with a smile.
