Terrible. Ordered through justeat for delivery. Estimated delivery time was 30-45 mins. We waited 1 hour 45 mins!! We called after 1 hour, 1 hour 15 and 1 hour 30 minutes. They tried to lie to me on the first call saying the driver will be here in 2 minutes however, the sentence previous to this was that they haven’t got any orders but then obviously found it when I reeled it off. So they had not seen our order which is why it took over double the time. We also ordered 5 pick and mix starters and only 4 came. When it did come the food was stone cold. Stick to in house food because your delivery service is shocking. We certainly won’t be using this place again

We had exelent service from Vickie we had a problem at the till Vickie kept saying she was sorry but it was the till not her but she kept on it untill she sorted it emma came to the table to make sure we was happy with our meal she spoke to us for quite a long time while we where waiting for our Deserts she was very polite and know a great deal of the company which was very good HATS OFF TO THEM BOTH fantastic service all round.

Worst meal I have ever had there. The variety and quality of veg has always attracted us to the De Rhodes, unfortunately they appear to be cutting costs by using lots of potato dishes and cheaper veg. Very disappointing. Desert £1.30 for one scoop of ice cream or £5 for two. How have they worked that out? Worst visit by far.

We called in for breakfast has we do every week staff looked miserable waited 10minutes for beans (We gave up) think we will stick to the young vanish Glapwell food always piping hot and plentiful staff are always friendly

Hadn’t booked and was easily seated by friendly staff. 7 of us in total. Children and adults all happily fed

We love our weekly visit it's a lovely place for food. Meg is the best about she always makes us feel welcome.

Meg was brilliant at guiding us through our visit, she's polite and very chatty. We had a great lovely food and will be coming back.

Beautiful dinner, staff are brilliant. Meg Vicki and Leah were great at explaining everything for us on our visit and very welcoming. Then Emma who was on the carvery was polite and had a big smile. 10/10

Lovely experience at de rodes was lovely and clean our waitress vicky was lovely with the children and went out her way to do anything she can including bringing crayon to entertain the children thank you

Plan for a Roast dinner tonite, a friend recommended D.R stone house , drive pass before and saw refurbishing. Just few miles away . Around 19:30pm Sunday , carpark nearly full . Walk in , get know limited carvery left only , other main dishes waiting times 40mins . So we order ( scan and mobile order ). Beer Large also limited 🙄. A carvery + three started Mix . Carvery sauce and those roasted vegetables taste good , we share for it . Than really waiting 45mins for ours 3 small starter plates. Will try again on week day and early hour . Thank you for the lovely staff servicing.

Another great meal, always nice selection of veggies on offer and in newly refurbished surroundings.

De Rodes is always busy, and for a good reason, the carvery is legendary, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere, can highly recommend.

Meg was brilliant with us at our meal last night, she was fast polite and gave us a great laugh! The food was so good and the place looks amazing!

We had booked a table for 6.30 we were taken to our table and we chose to Oder via the app . Drinks came quickly with only a short wait for the starters to arrive . Unfortunately things went down hill after this after waiting nearly 40 minutes for our main course my husband went to the bar to enquire how long our meal would be and was told 10 minutes,so it took over50 minutes for our main meal. We then went to the bar to tell them we were ready for dessert, the server had told us to tell them when we were ready, after waiting 25 minutes my husband again went to the bar and we were told it would be 3 minutes 2desserts arrived as ordered it took so long for the third dessert to arrive that 2 of us had finished our dessert then the 3rd dessert was not what we had ordered but the server put the plate down and very quickly left before we could say anything. We felt the service was poor but it was entirely due to there not being enough staff on duty for the amount of customers. Overall we were disappointed.

Reopened after refit. Certainly brightened up the place and looks and feels more modern however, it does look like the company has tried to cram in as many chairs and tables as physically possible so now looks cluttered and would be difficult to get around if all tables are in use especially for disabled people. Staff are friendly and kind. Unfortunately, the carvery is not the best option for Gluten intolerance as there are a few dishes containing Gluten with no alternative option.

Waiting ages for food , shocking service

Great food and atmosphere love what they have done with the remodelling and great service from Emma, lovely girl and very kind deserves a lot of credit.

How can people say its good value just paid over six pouds for icecream portion size was absolutely discusting not quality ive cream either tesco value icecream at best

Lovely pub! Went as a family with two little ones. The staff are excellent and helped keep the little ones entertained. The food was delicious we had pizzas and they are so reasonably priced. The puddings were fab very filling. Can’t wait to go back!

Top notch carvery, really good stuff. That being said, I wouldn't order anything other than carvery when it comes to mains, as you're waiting significantly longer than it takes to get the carvery so it'll make your party's eating times very split. We came in for a Monday afternoon and I think it ended up busier than they expected but the waitresses were still lovely and the carvery chef was brill. Very good value for money in my opinion.

I used to work here, if the previous owners could see it now. Staff arguing with each other in front of customers. Checking to see if the meat was cooked in front of everyone. 45 minutes waiting for food after arranging a collection time, just eat/uber drivers leaving because their collections weren’t ready. Shameful. Left in the end without any food and still had to wait 25 minutes for a refund.

Reopening looks brilliant, food as good as before and staff are brilliant happy and smiley. Loving the new look, and atmosphere.

Staff very friendly as always . Meg showed us to ou table and asked if we were OK with it and if we wanted to move to another one. . Very polite .

A warm welcome is always received the staff are always more than happy to help and accommodate your needs, the food is lovely and carvery always has a varied array of vegetables and cater well for vegetarians. The refurbishment to the decor has made the pub feel very homely and comfortable.

Staff was very friendly on arrival, they got us a table very quick gave us all the information we needed to order from the menu with the QR code, the drinks arrived and the paper they give you to go up to get the Carvery came very quick even though the restaurant was busy. The food was excellent and well cooked, and seeing other people’s food going past all looked amazing. The only downside is we had trouble using a gift card for payment via the QR code.

First meal back after the refurb, absolutely fantastic meal. Great carvery, fresh and tasty. Especially the roast potato says best I've ever had in a long time. Desserts were fantastic, extremely filling and tasted great 100% recommend massive improvement can't wait for a meal there this weekend 😁

Great night at the dry run for De Rodes Arms reopening after their remodel to Stonehouse 25! Some great new dishes and tweaks to old dishes. Thanks to Vanya and the team for hosting and providing great service as always!

Just tried the new menu and it was bloody beautiful couldn't fault it all all all came out red hot and not cold or warm which was a good thing.

Beautiful food, quick service and very polite waitress called Leah. Will definitely be coming again! Highly recommend 😁

This is a lovely pub, the food is great at a very reasonable price and great opening times for breakfast or dinner which ever you prefer or both! We often come here for an all the can eat breakfast and you do get a great choice, sometimes all of the items aren’t available and you have to wait for things but that’s to be expected when it is an all you can eat and some can eat plenty! The carvery is always lovely and fresh, no frozen carrots etc which makes a huge difference Great service from staff, they are always friendly and welcoming with any issues resolved straight away A little note for anyone wanting to visit, although Google states this is currently open, they are incorrect. This pub will be closed until the 28th of march for refurbishments! Please make sure you call before driving there.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Ambience was warm and inviting. I will be definitely coming back to this place and highly recommend it to everyone who’s looking for great food and an amazing service.

Came here at the start of February and the breakfast was awful. Nothing was topped up all the food was cold. The staff looked over worked.

Very poor and while I understand the place was due to close for a refit the lack of any kind of staff enthusiasm was off-putting. The carvery was OK but the kids meals were very disappointing both in size and quality

Ordered for delivery before 4pm. Estimated for 4:30, then estimated for 5:10 then estimated for 18:30. I’ve cooked my own dinner and ate it and bathed. Told my missus she can eat mine tomorrow for dinner. Place is absolutely pathetic. Don’t reply saying you hope our next experience is better, because there won’t be one.

Great breakfast and lovely service from Megan? (I think) shown to our table which was reserved and very attentive with anything we needed. Would recommend.

Me, my husband and my grandad have come for a carvery today 19/02/2025. Me and my husband had the plant based chicken, the food is absolutely lovely all three of us absolutely enjoyed the the food. All the staff are absolutely friendly and polite. Will definitely come back here again my grandad enjoyed his meat, everything bit of food had plenty of flavour. I mentioned to my husband I could just eat the cheese and onion mash that was absolutely tasty. Loved all the food. There is no complaints from us three, I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a real good meal

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bartender was patient and helpful while I tried to locate my birthday offer. The food (carvery) was good, but not hot. Just about warm. Good Yorkshire puds.

Nice place to have brunch. But carvery serving is too little we think, not enough meat for the money we spend. Friends had same opinion.

I was ill all week from there roast . Avoid 100%

Took family for a night out . What an awful night . Ordered 9 meals and they said it would be half hour . Over an hour later asked if our meals were coming . The waitress said she would ask . A further ten minutes later two of the order came out and they were stone cold . Clearly they had sat in kitchen and appeared to have peas microwaved hard enough to be like bullets . Poor show all round while we were waiting meals were been taken out for takeaways appears that's their priority . It wasn't busy at 7pm on a Saturday now I know why seriously won't set foot in the place again . A special night out spoilt luckily treble bob accommodated us if you plan going here don't go over the road instead

Went to De Rodes on a Sunday and had a burger, which was very disappointing and a mistake. The patty was inedible and could only be described as soggy, heavily processed rubbish. The chips were also disappointing, and I'm amazed how somebody could manage to make chips so bad. Tasteless pieces of cardboard. Others in my party had the carvery which looked very nice and the only reason why I haven't given a 1*.

All good on this visit carvery excellent/service from all departments (bar/carvery/floor staff) friendly and helpful will visit again when occasion arises. Well worth a visit on a Sunday 👍😁

Firs time visiting de rodes must say i am not in no rush to go back. The atmosphere was bland. The service was ridiculously slow. The food was awful chips undercooked, how you even manage that is beyond me. Portion size for the children is dreadful. Overall overpriced crap nasty food

I would just like to say how Leah from the Stonehouse restaurant in Barlborough Chesterfield was an absolute sweetheart and bent over backward to look after me. What an asset to your company, such a beautiful person inside and out. She will go far.

Went for my friend’s birthday in October, the food was shocking, the pizza was disgusting, and the carvery was horrible, and my friend agreed, we hardly ate any of it and complained to the waitress, she was sent to the opposite end of the pub to clean tables and seemed as though she’d basically been told to ignore us until we left I feel sorry for the waitresses that work there when they have such poor and ignorant management, I used to be a regular there but haven’t been back since and won’t, I’ve found somewhere that’s far superior and that actually cares about what there doing.

This place should be ashamed of its self...it really has gone down hill....went for a carvery only had beef left.... a woman behind the bar said we could all have chicken or a sausage basically because they have no other meat went for my food asked the chef and she basically called me a liar....her remarks was.....I bet she did then walked off .... when I explained what the woman said behind the bar.... ABSOLUTELY NO MANNERS AT ALL.....used to enjoy going here......definitely will not be returning..... I know this will make no difference what so ever just expect to be called a liar and spoken to like dirt 👍

We had an enjoyable meal this evening. The food came relatively quickly and was great. Staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. A special thank you to Louise. We will visit again

En route home we were hungry stopped off here as looked quite busy , the menu didn’t really grab us but my partner had the chicken breast burger and chips and I just had loaded nachos with chicken - his was acceptable, not great , but acceptable for the price , mine was shocking !!! Who these days puts that horrible cheese sauce on nachos in a pub/restaurant rather than proper grated cheese ??? It was disgusting and the added chicken was merely from a sandwich style chicken packet it wasn’t even heated up !!! Although the lady who served me drinks at the bar appeared to be the manager and I couldn’t fault her friendliness and welcome , but I would never dine here again , it’s cheap in price for a reason , and I would rather pay double and enjoy my food !!

All staff are amazing and funny! Makes it worth the trip for breakfast having kind professional staff greeting you at the door! Then staff continue to be polite helpful and funny the whole time you visit. Chef Em is bright and bubbly person behind the carvery counter... Yours sincerely Man in the hat.

Went here on the off chance of getting a table on boxing day....we were greeted with open arms and the manager, so didn't catch her name, was so accommodating, she helped her us with friendly professionalism. She went above and beyond.

To start, the food was delicious and historically we have had some wonderful meals there which is why I've given a 3 instead of lower die to consistency. On this day though, we were a family of 6, they forgot 1 meal so it came out 17 minutes after the main. Then an additional burger meal was ordered after everyone had eaten and they made the burger wrong as they put sauce in it when it was requested no sauce, so they had to restart again causing another delay of roughly 20 minutes. The place was maybe half full. Most of the Staff were friendly, some were attempting to be friendly I guess, however unfortunately it seemed through gritted teeth sometimes. Avergae overall on consistency, would still go again though, food is good and you can have a good experience there. The only place that doesn't do refillable soft drinks though that I have been to in a while

Just waited 2 hours for a carvery delivery for it to be cancelled with no explanation. Absolutely disgraceful.

Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Full English or toast with jams. I would like the option of bacon/sausage sandwich. Bottomless coffee and tea!
