The John Fretwell Center in Bolsover

I'm currently sat watching Notts v Yorks at the venue. The sun is shining, it's an absolutely stunning day. Notts lost the toss and they're batting first. The facilities are wonderful. Bars, cakes, burgers, more seating than a really big seated thing, it's a pleasure to be here. Parked easily and picked up a coffee on our way to our front row seats. Anyway, I better put some sun tan lotion on, it really is a belting day.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS is a good D.I.S.C.O, which was what we got. The RED RED WINE was flowing which put me IN THE MOOD FOR DANCING. The dinner was FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD, and the service was like A RACE AGAINST TIME, Very fast and proficient. The bar staff were ALL IN IT TOGETHER, and worked as GOOD AS HELL, and as FAST AS A SPEEDING LIGHT. It gave us all MIDNIGHT MEMORIES. The MONEY MONEY MONEY were excellent, and GOT THE PARTY STARTED. By the end of the night we were seeing BLURRED LINES and were SHUFFLING as THESE BOOT WEREN’T MADE FOR WALKING. This night made us Pharrell Williams HAPPYYYYYYYY. I’M REVIEWING THE SITUATION, and we all had THE TIME OF OUR LIVES. So THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC……

The venue was great The food was great but very slow to come out. No ashtrays outside We wasn’t very happy that the bar closed early

Been on a number of occasions and delighted to see they have finally got their act together. I need a special diet and previous I have waited an age to be fed and then given a very poor menu. Tonight I had swift friendly service and a very good selection of food

A place which facilitates sporting events, weddings, private parties and corporate functions. Great foods. Great and assistive staff. I have attended for many different reasons in the past. The wedding fayre was lovely. Cant wait for my wedding here next year.

This evening was amazing. Preparation and planning with Mark and the team was effortless. Sue ran the floor on the night and service together with the food, was spectacular. The food was perfect and not just me saying it, but people on our table kept commenting whilst eating. Loads of veg which was great. I really think if you work with Mark and the team they can do anything. Brilliant location. We had a band from London, who also received great hospitality and they sounded awesome.

Had already raised concerns to organiser about not being able to cope with dietary needs he kindly overlooked my meal which had I not had to wait until clearing away everyone else’s plates after looking at everyone else eat was reasonable

We jab a black tie event here with approx 130 people sitting down for a Lovely dinner service efficient and meal well cooked lots of space between tablesFollowed by a brilliant Garry Barlow tribute singer .Access is all on one level disabled toilets very close and handyLarge car park on same level wide doors Large bar area

We attended a charity auction on 22-03-19. £5 per ticket. The auction was OK. Advertised were the band, Administer Burnes and the Rugcutters plus two singers. The band played to a diminishing audience. The singer never got chance to sing, no fault of there own. The restaurant then decided to close the bar at 1045. No notice of this was given. I was told the bar closes at 1100 only to be told later at 1050 that "we have now closed up" This place is in the middle of no where and we had to wait 40 minutes for a pre booked cab.This place treated its cashing up with more of a priority than its guests.I have never been in such an establishment that is operated so poorly and such a disrespect for it's clientele. Never again comes to mind

The take that tribute was fab, good atmosphere for dancing and having a laugh with friends.I found the food bland and didn’t enjoy my meal and not worth the £35. Asked for more veg and we was ground on for asking.Lovely place just food let it down.

Went here for a wedding reception...Room is large, very clean and nicely decorated with lit drapes. The hot and cold buffet was beautifully done and the food was tasty, plentiful, and a good variety.Not sure if disco was one belonging to fretwell or organised privately but he was really boring, bad mix of music and his catchphrase...we're going back in time really annoyed everyone on our table...Other than that enjoyed our evening

I attended a sit down dinner here last year and ended up with fruit juice for starter and then waited and waited for a main meal and ended up eating left oversWent again this time it was a buffet and all that could eat was a bit of salad garnish it was pork pie, sausage rolls and sandwiches asked for gluten free and they looked at me like I was an alien and no cakes again not for me

Good service, friendly staff. The quality of the food was good, and replenished regularly. The venue was great value, too.

Staff are so rude, asked for no parsley as it upsets me, it came with double amount, asked for it to be removed and chef came out saying i was strange and i should eat it and stop moaning,

I chose this venue for my hubby’s 50th. Mark was most helpful from start to finish. Had so many compliments over the style of buffet we chose - we opted for chicken and chips in a basket, was perfect! Even catered for our gluten free guests.

went to jf centre and its lovely everyone couldn't do enough to make your night worthwhile lovely place excellent beers

The Inner Wheel Club of Warsop held it's first every charity ball at the John Fretwell Center. Mark Waterfield the manager could not have been more helpful and guided us through the ins and outs of hosting a big event.

its was a Take That tribute act we had a great time the drinks were priced no more then a pub .The room looked great with all the twinkle lights

The venue was very good went for our Christmas outing the tribute act was quite good but the meal was very poor I had braised steak it was very tough more like a beefburger the vegetables there was not enough to go around I had 3 potatoes a couple of Brussels was not very nice and Xmas pudding was a microwave which wasn't hot very disappointed after it was arranged a few months ago

Went for a Christmas meal with work colleagues. It was a very poor meal. More like microwave meals , and to top it off a take that tribute band which I did not stay to see. I would not recommend it .

En realidad tenía una gran noche, los precios del bar caro, pero esperaba. La cerveza era agradable sin embargo. Mesas de comedor y luces centellean pared todo bien. Debido a fondos limitados y caros bufetes nuestro anfitrión hizo para el chip de mazorcas. Era de condimentos provideded junto con un sandwich sin gluten opción chip. Aunque una nota de un chef a un chef! Patatas cocinadas en una freidora anteriormente utilizados para cocinar gambas u otros productos empanadas no puede ser llamado sin gluten! No me molestó, ya que no soy demasiado malo un ceiliac pero tome nota para el futuro.

Mi hermano y su mujer tenían allí boda en el lugar y fue absolutamente increíble. Es un buen tamaño y es impresionante cuando está hecho con las mesas. Fue una de las mejores bodas que he ido porque de este lugar.

my mum and dad had their wedding there beautiful food and to top it of we loved watching the cricket and when they finished we played for hours on field love u mum colette wheat and dad ashley wheat

Attended grandsons football presentation night here. Nice spacious venue and good facilities outdoors to keep youngsters amused. Decent selection of beers, wines and spirits. Took our own food but bar staff where polite and efficient. Only snag was the plastic glasses.

Nuestra hija y yerno, eligió este lugar para su boda el sábado. Una excelente elección. La sala era preciosa, Callum y su equipo era impecable, nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos y todo transcurrió sin problemas. El buffet era fresca, deliciosa y abundante. Todo el mundo comentó sobre lo buena que era la comida. El hog asado en la noche también era delicioso y satisficieron sin gluten también. Recomiendo altamente este lugar, la ubicación es ideal, con un montón de espacio exterior para las oportunidades de fotografía.

Went to a friends wedding reception at the fretwell centre , the room looked beautiful, all staff were very friendly and and polite, afternoon buffet was lovely and fresh , fantastic soul band on the night that they had booked , would highly recommend we have previously been here to other events and always had a lovely time,

Fuimos a un evento de corbata negra de la cena. Las habitaciones de tamaño decente. Desplazamiento aparcamiento tiene ladrillos estúpido donde los tacones para moverse. Tamaño de la habitación buena y todo estaba limpio. La cena era terrible, como el personal espera que en olvidar para servir a la gente y preguntas de la gente. ignorando 10 a una mesa, pero sólo 6 rollos de pan verduras duras como una roca y un crouton en la sopa como s donuts nadie pudo romper con una cuchara. Me sirve un hilillo de café y me dijeron que tienen para ver si tenían más. El precio por cabeza por encima de la media.

Beautiful room done up in the bride's choice colours for weddings lovely food for sit down meals and eveing buffet all set in country side surroundings the beer prices a bit steep tho

Had a great time,the wedding was lovely the food and the entertainment was really good . The Christmas evening was really enjoyable and our party hoping to go again this Christmas

A party of 60 people from work went here for our Christmas do recently, and considering the very large number of people present and the mass catering, the food was brilliant.The staff were also extremely considerate and helpful with my food allergies which can make eating out rahter difficult - top marks for that!!

Works Christmas party. Very nice settings . went last year and both times had issues with food! Not consistent. Meals not arrived or forgotten! Some of our party had no starter and waitress just shrugged and said oh well let's hope you get main course!!!!

Fantastic wedding venue amazing decor for weddingslenty of field for kids to run around. Will accommodate anything regarding wedding we had a broncho bull for our wedding very obliging with this. Evening buffet great. Daytime wedding breakfast very good food and service. Recommend to anyone wishing to get married

Our directors paid for a VIP table to watch a colleague in the charity boxing match.Service was great, the food was yummy!! Very clean, tidy and well organised.Fast service on the bar too.

well what can I say ,absolutely fantastic venue ,brilliant staff,and fantastic entertainment.beautifull food could go on all night with the praise.we had our party on dec 21st best night ever ,would certainly book again ..

Very pleased with the Xmas party, catering was very good for so many people. My only complaint is that some people on our table did not get coffee as they had been absent from the table when it came and they did not do a second circuit to check. The entertainment for the evening was outstanding. They could also do with a few patio heaters for the smokers as it was very cold out. Will be happy to return.

Went sat night to see staying alive tribute to Bee gees well not very good but the disco inbetwern and after was great DJ was really good . Also should have been jacket potatoe but got pie chips and peas instead which was very tasty . The wine was also very good price .Only down side was how hot inside it was could hav done with some aircon . But must say the inside was lovely clean but band not up to much
