The best restaurants serving British food in Bolsover East Midlands

Lovely bistro with friendly staff. We visited for brunch and the food was excellent. My husband asked for a veggie breakfast and really enjoyed the veggie sausages, eggs, beans, hash browns, mushrooms and spinach with a side of toast. My traditional full English was delicious, excellent sausages and bacon. The coffee was really good too. Very nice staff with good service. We would definitely recommend and visit again.

I'm new to the area, but have been to this store a few times over the last few months. It's not the the main store in the village (there's a Co-op down the way), but it's really handy if you're walking round the quarry, or from Creswell Crags. I've had a breakfast butty here with family, we all enjoyed it. Today I got myself brunch - food is hot, plentiful fillings, and the staff are always really friendly. They do sandwiches and ice creams too.

Stopped by for a mid week evening meal. Lovely home cooked food and really friendly atmosphere. We’ll be back. Thanks

Lovely visit on a Tuesday evening with friends. Dishes on the new menu were delicious- we all had the lamb flatbread and loved it. Service was also good as always. Will be back again soon.

Positives first. Staff are pleasant and quick even on busy nights. However be warned, size portioning is VERY inconsistent and depends on who serves you. 9/10 I order a donor meat and chips, varying small or large depending on how hungry I am. Went this evening and the guy before me ordered a large, the box was overflowing even in a large box. This is what I normally expect. I also ordered and was charged for a large. Served by a different lady but was given less than a small just in the large box. Wont be ordering a large again.

Brilliant place the beef burger and onions are to die for, everything is fresh the breadcakes are so fresh the owner is so friendly just stop and have something to eat i come from Sheffield but I travel over to see my mum inlaw in Alford and I can't wait for my burger and onions ,. Very good value for money, nice little pub, in a remote location but not too far a drive from Chesterfield and Sheffield.

Excellent food spoilt by poor waitress service. Would've like a dessert and extra drinks but never saw a waitress to order from. Sat with used plates and got tired with waiting for waitress to clear table and ask if we wanted to see desert menu.

Had breakfast here while in the area visiting family. Amazing breakfast….will definitely eat here again when we’re in the area. Great food, lovely place and really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend …looking forward to coming back xx

A really nice pub, great friendly staff and atmosphere, nice pint of lager shandy and a Steak and Ale pie with Mashed Potato and Vegetables with a lovely jug of Gravy. Could not fault it at all. Will definitely visit again on my return to Sherwood Forest.
