Courtyard Kitchen in Bolsover

I was visiting Bolsover for the day and fancied something to eat and came across this cosy little cafe tucked away in a courtyard near Morrisons. There was lovely outdoor seating but, it being one of the hottest days of the year, I chose to sit indoors. Well, what a treat! The omelette I ordered was the fluffiest, most unctuous, and delicious one I've ever eaten. The lady who served me was so friendly and the atmosphere was just what I needed: peaceful and cosy, with some magazines to tuck into while waiting for my food. Lovely little eatery.

Good menu options for food. Food was tasty (we had burger, toastie, and jacket potato), generous portions and fair prices.

Opening night for the evening menu. Staff were friendly, and prompt with taking orders, food was delicious, hot and well portioned! Cocktails tasty & the desserts were yummy! Will definitely be returning :)

Went for Sunday lunch last week, absolutely loved it. Portions were massive and the food top quality. The staff couldn't do enough for us. A Little hidden gem, a must try! Will definitely be returning!

Walked in all lights on music playing no one around so shouted hello no answer.. walked upstairs ask if anyone was serving to get a blunt reply from someone in the kitchen. We're not open till ten .. that's fine but maybe lock your door until your open

Lunchtime, sat outside , dog was welcome which is nice. The food was brought promptly, hot and was enjoyed as was evident by the empty plates at the end. Coffee was in a big cup and hot. Milk shakes delish. Would definitely visit again. Recommended.

Nice place, clean and comfortable, there's a little area to sit outside in the court yard which was nice. When we ordered a sandwich though, that was litterally all we received no crisps or any salad on the side, which was a shame. But I have eaten here before and the cooked food has been good

Called in on our way to Morrisonns for a late breakfast. The small cafe was nearly full as is the case most of the time. Service was quite slow, but we'll worth the wait. Nice and warm and clean inside. Cafe has a 5 star food hygiene rating. Our breakfasts were ample in size and decent quality and, good value for money.Well worth a visit.See photo.

This was our first visit here and we had a really lovely experience. It was Friday lunch time and the restaurant was busy, full of people chatting and eating, creating a friendly atmosphere. The menu was quite extensive and we opted for the carrot and coriander soup with a white cob. The soup was absolutely delicious, nice and hot, and full of flavour. The cob was large and fresh. It was a very filling meal and considering it was only £3, it was also really good value. We treated ourselves to some apple and blackberry crumble with hot custard and this was so devine, so tasty, so scrummy. All the meals are cooked fresh and there were plenty of drinks to choose from. What would be useful though, would be to have all the meals classified as vegetarian or vegan listed together, so you can see easily what your options are. We can't wait to come back for me crumble!!

I regularly have breakfast at Courtyard Kitchen and am delighted they cater for vegetarian and vegan customers. Their vegan breakfast comprises of vegan sausages, hash browns, mushrooms, baked beans, tomatoes and toast. You can also enjoy a vegan lunch: for example vegan sausages, mash, baked beans and or onion gravy. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It has been operating for a great many years and the majority of staff have worked there since it originally opened I highly recommend it.

We have eaten breakfast several times and called for lunch recently. Friendly, efficient staff and good, home cooked food with the added bonus of being very reasonably priced.

Called in for a late breakfast/lunch with my wife and grandaughter. They had steak and mince pies. I had the large breakfast.Everyone enjoyed their meals. It was very busy, but we didn't have to wait long. My breakfast was huge not large. Good quality items. Best hash brown I can ever remember eating. Rest of items were also really nice.Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Service was very professional .Hope to call again soon.

From the moment you enter you are always greeted with a warm friendly welcome. The breakfasts are always well cooked and made to order, and a good range of sizes to suit small appetites up to their huge 20 item belly buster! We've tried lots of places for a nice breakfast and they beat all the local competition, and places in Chesterfield and Mansfield by miles. We will always be regular, repeat customers.

Always call in when in Bolsover. I have the home made pies with chips peas and gravy every time. Same are very filling and very good value. Well worth a visit..

The cafe is lovely and clean and airy. Quiet a lot of reserved tables. Good sign. I had bacon and mushroom cob. Really tasty. Very good value for money. Hardly a wait for food. Cafe was quite busy. Always are 1st choice in town.

We found this small establishment online and based on previous reviews decided to give it a go for breakfast on our way up the M1 to Leeds. And I'm glad we did.

We called into the town of Bolsover before visiting the castle. Lovely little village feel and we town this amazing place. We parked in what I think was the main car park and that's when Hubble stopped this place (he can always sniff out a good Breakfast!). We'll I'm going to say it's best we've every had and that NO lie. We have the large breakfast and when ordered at the till asked if we wanted to change anything...... on my god that's a rare question normally, so the very lovely young lady that served us swapped the black pud for bacon. It was served with a smile and when it was put in front of my husband I said that looks lovely and it was 3 Bacon 2 Sausages beans tomatoes hash brown and fried egg. When down a treat after a long drive fro the south. Thank you courtyard kitchen. Highly recomend you over look this one you'll miss out ......no pic was to nice to wait

Such lovely food we refuse to go anywhere else for our breakfast now. Cheaper than you think but the quality is amazing. Friendly staff always smiling and the range of food and drinks is especially good.

Visited yesterday with my daughter in law, we enjoyed every moment of our experience from entering the cafe the friendly warm atmosphere enveloped us. The service and food was excellent the cleanliness is superb and the prices are very reasonable. Will certainly visit again.

As always ‘Courtyard Kitchen’ turning out the best breakfast in our little town. Everything on the plate just cooked to perfection. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my breakfast in Bolsover. Well done girls keep up this very high standard 😁

The staff in this little cafe are very friendly. There are about six or 7 tables seating from 2 to six people. Any larger parties are catered for if they no on advance.You can ring ahead and book your table.

Nice little cafe with friendly staff. They have a gluten free menu which was a great addition and the breakfast tasted really good. I was surprised at the great value of this place would definitely recommend.

Another detour off the M1 to have breakfast at this establishment. The first place I have been to that understands immediately the term 'really crispy bacon' - it was perfect. Also I am not a lover of black pudding so asked to not have this - much to my amazement I was asked what I would like instead! I cannot recall ever having been asked what substitute I would like so another gold star for The Courtyard Kitchen - thank you :)

Increíble joya en bolsover. Muy limpio. Magnífica comida. Precios razonables. Personal simpático y cortés. Estoy seguro de que si me ampliaron ganarían más personalizados. El lugar estaba lleno y no ver una pareja con niños cono a la puerta y aspecto muy decepcionado ya que se volteó y se fue. No me puedo quejar de este lugar, que era preciosa.

Cocina Patio en Bolsover, Derbyshire es bien vale la pena visitar si estás en la zona. El café (cerca de Bolsover Castillo, dirigido por patrimonio inglés), es un lugar estupendo, con un menú variado y un personal cálido y amable. La decoración es luminosa y alegre, con fotos de escenas locales que adornan las paredes. La comida que tomamos estaba buenísimo (atún y queso panini y champiñones y bacon tortilla en nuestro caso) y una excelente relación calidad-precio. Como estábamos en las vacaciones, seguido de un equipo crema deliciosa. En general, un pequeño café y altamente recomendado.

El patio es un café informal maravillosamente. Es el tipo de lugar que no debería importa esperar unos instantes en el mostrador mientras la señora termina su charla con un par de mujeres locales se sirve antes de disculpas, que luego se incorporan para la celebración. Es el tipo de lugar donde el ser llamado "pato" te hace sentir muy bienvenida; y siendo que ocultan las conversaciones entre clientes y personal variado te hace sentir casi local.

I have been to the courtyard quite a few times,and would differently recommend to other people. Lovely friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Very clean,with a good menu choices. Everything that I've had as been really nice. I will definitely be going back.

Called in the other day, couldn't resist the steak pie, it was a good choice, lovely pastry and the filling was excellent....Staff are really friendly and make you feel genuinely welcome....they are well presented and the place itself is very clean.....a credit to the owner and their team....

Not local to the area I ended up visiting Courtyard twice whilst in Bolsover for meetings. Nice clean cafe with a good menu choice catering for gluten free & other dietary requirements. I had scrambled egg which was cooked perfectly. Other food looked nice too. The premises were busy both visits and the staff are friendly whilst working their socks off! The prices are very good too. I will definitely return should I need to go back to the area.

Super little cafe in a quant village ,can get busy around dinner times some days,has there food is home-made ,and locals and tourists who visit the local amenities such as Bolsover Castle call for there dinners.And what makes it more enjoyable is the owners and their staff , all very friendly & welcoming .

If you like cafe dining (and let's face it, who doesn't!), the Courtyard Kitchen is the best in the area. They offer everything from toast to fried breakfasts, homemade scones to homemade pies. They have a vast menu, with everything being of a very high standard. Their steak pie is TO DIE FOR!I eat from this cafe almost daily, and will continue to do so whilst ever the current owners are in there.Very highly recommended!

Pretty busy who we went on a Saturday lunch time on way to visit Bolsover castle.Not a huge selection but everything is homemade. Good quality decent home made food for a fair price. Frozen chips that were fried was a little disappointing, but the home made pie was great 2 meals and 2 coffees £13

Simply put, if you're in Bolsover and want a decent meal in a cafe (or takeaway!), then you have to visit the Courtyard Kitchen. Their breakfasts are literally perfect, and their homemade pies are to die for (particularly the steak!). They have very friendly staff, and the cafe is always clean & hygienic... that coupled with great food makes for a great experience.Very highly recommended!

After reading the positive reviews on trip advisor thought I would give it a try.A varied menu is on offer for breakfast and dinner.I had the latter which comprised of potatoes carrots, broad beans, peas and a good home made steak pie which came in at £5.This represents good value for money and on the evidence of this I would recommend a visit

If a coffee, scone, jam and cream is wanted this is the plave to go. However, quiet it will not be. Just one inside table out of half a dozen was free, the other's were occupied by loud, often excitable, folk - often accompanied by shouts from staff at the counter to check customer's requirements. The food was good, but not, on this occasion a place for a quiet coffee. Perhaps fine on other days!

Visited on Tuesday and the cafe was extremely busy this however did not compromise the standards first class service and food. The three staff that was on were rushed off their feet but still managed to smile joke with customers and each other well done

Courtyard Kitchen Is a family run café in the historical town of Bolsover near Chesterfield in Derbyshire. It is just a short walk from Bolsover Castle. The food is all home made, tasty and fresh, with a good selection to choose from.. The portions are of a good size but you can opt for a smaller Light Bite version if you wish. They also serve childrens meals and have high chairs for small children. I make a special journey just to go for the cottage pie which is one of the best I have ever had. The prices are reasonable and more than competitive. I recommend you give this café a visit..
