The food seems to have gone down hill recently, the service from the young girls however was brill. They were very helpful 🙂 just a bit disappointed with the quality of the food for the high price.

Always enjoy calling just had a pint outside on a rare occasion the sun was shinning so able to chat with local people as I have for about 50 years

Not been before but I will be back. Lovely atmosphere, clean, friendly staff, good food. I would say that the menu needs reviewing though.

1st time I've been in the pub, great atmosphere excellent food and service although menu was ok i thought it needed an update . But I will be going again 👍👍👍

Had the beef roast dinner. Beef was of very low quality. Very fatty and chewy. Dinners look nice stylishly plated up but unfortunately once you begin eating it's a case of style over substance. Would not recommend. Will not be returning.

Fish was good, chunky chips very dry, same goes for the mushy peas, very expensive, same meal, much cheaper in Windsor, will not go back in a hurry.

Stopped off for a spot of Sunday lunch and have to say, what a lovely place, great food, staff and dog friendly too !

Excellent food, really high quality and not too expensive. Good selection of drinks, better than average. Prices were typical of pubs now.

Can't believe price absolutely over priced macdonalds sauces.waitress service as if u wasn't there, having to Flagg them down..never to return. The plaice fish was a mixture of bitte4 taste

Came for the comedy night. Was absolutely fantastic. Quick service at the bar. Lovely and clean. Would recommend, didn't eat but my mother in law says the food is amazing.

We ordered the sandwiches with their option for soup and fries as addition. First they served a wrong sandwich and afterwards not the included fries or soup. So the price doubled for us. When you order here be careful of being scammed. This is why we are giving 1 star. The food was good.

Lunch time break. The Chicken Taco was wonderful, the presentation and taste perfect. The let down, it was slightly messy to consume. Will I go back, definitely yes, will I have the same again, certainly as this may have been a one-off.

My food was great but my wife who's a vegan wasn't able to choose anything as the menu didn't have one vegan option. Disappointing as the old menu always had options on for her. Service and staff great 👍

Delicious food, helpful staff, and comfortable seating. Easy parking too. If the amaretto custard is on the menu, highly recommended! It comes with panettone bread and butter pudding, but I would have quite happily just had the custard. Highly recommended 👌

Always have great meal in the oak really good local pub

Went here for a family lunch there was 13 of us and a dog .(don't let the dog friendliness put you off).food was spot on and the staff really helpfull. I had a Sunday lunch and would like to return to explore the menu as the other dishes looked great too

Lovely pub, just called in for a pint or 2 after visiting sherwood Pines . The pub is dog friendly and was very busy. Didn't eat there, but the food looked amazing

The Royal Oak has a very welcoming atmosphere has soon as you enter through the doors.staff are friendly and there are a great selection of drinks on offer.the food menu is excellent and the food tastes absolutely beautiful and well presented a credit to the chef. there is a fab atmosphere and gets really busy so would recommend booking a table if there is a party booking for food. During the warmer months there is a great seating area to the front so you can enjoy a drink and watch the world go by. Highly recommend 👌

They found us a table at short notice in the dog friendly end. The food was nice, apart from my wife's beef, which was tough, but the manageress reflected this in the bill. The service between the main course and the desert was a bit slow. But it was very busy.

Really appreciated their dog friendly attitude. Food was excellent and staff were friendly. Great carpark too.

Great food and place, nice staff

We sat down for food near the kitchen for about 10 minutes, then decided against staying and ordering any due to the attitude of the head chef. He was throwing plates and pots around, obviously in a mood and was rude towards other staff. Not only did this create an awful atmosphere but we didn’t want to support that kind of behaviour a grown man was showing to all the younger staff members.

Never had a less than great meal here. Lovely staff and relaxed atmosphere

For the price that is being paid for certain things, I think the service could have been a little better. Can't understand why a steak can be cooked rare but a beef burger cannot. Makes no sense what so ever.

Had a late lunch here for the first time and we we very impressed, even though it doesn’t look like much from the outside compared to posher looking gastro pubs this place over delivered on the food and service. In particular the short rib and Mac and cheese was great and one of the best pub burgers I have had in a long time, it’s nice to have a burger you can taste rather than the extras inside it. Highly recommend this place.

We visited this pub on Sunday for the pub quiz. The quizmaster was awesome and the quiz was great. The drinks were very reasonably priced too!

Really good staff. We were celebrating a big birthday and they let us bring our own cake. I had the bream which was the best meal I have eaten out for a long time. Beautifully cooked on samphire.

Lovely food, well worth the wait, great choices and tasty mains and really great desserts, great staff and service and they allow dogs. I definitely recommend it.

Wow, I read good reviews but did not expect it to be this good! The chips tasted like they'd been slowly roasted then fried, the pizza was as good as any we have had in Italy and my cauliflower dish had serious Thai flavour and actually felt healthy to eat! The burgers (if we ate meat) looked incredible as did the mushy peas, the pies and mash.. If you are the area... definitely worth a visit.

Long time since I've been there. It's changed a lot, much brighter and cleaner. The hand pull beer was good if a little cold, but I think the young and germans like it that way

Steak and burgers excellent pizza poor quality

Called in for Sunday lunch with family. The waitresses were all lovely and pleasant. I actually had fish and chips and they were so nice better than I've had from a fish and chip shop.

Expected really good food looking at the reviews. Was blown away but what was delivered to the table. With out doubt the best Steak and Ale pie I've ever had.

A lovely Sunday roast. I had turkey and others had beef- clean plates all round. The beef was a little too pink for my liking. Friendly and efficient staff. It’s not cheap but it’s quality and you get good portion sizes.

Had a meal in here when was at Centre Parcs .The braised shoulder of lamb was amazing .Best I have ever had

Just called in, as Dog Friendly, had one of the best meals I've ever had in an English pub. Excellently food, great service overall: "blown away" great to know that I can still be pleasantly surprised.

So happy we went here, we left Center Parcs for the day and chose The Royal Oak for dinner. My wife and the children (8,5) all enjoyed it and the food was comparable with any very good restaurant in London. The lamb particularly was delicious.

One of the best steaks I've had

Every time we stay at Sherwood Pines, we book Sunday lunch here. Best pub Sunday lunch ever. The attention to detail is just excellent. Superb food, superb service. Can't beat it.

Meal was presented beautifully but could of done with a shard meat knife tho as beef was a little tough to cut through, x

Good food and a nice place to be in

Absolutely superb, the food was nothing short of perfection seriously delicious, Abby was lovely and very attentive all in pleasant surroundings and reasonable prices. Not on the list of recommended dishes was the lamb-melt in the mouth Mmm mmmm

We are up from Bristol for the week and decided to stop here a quick bite to eat. I'm allergic to fish in all forms and one other in our party is allergic to red meat. We chose there royal oak burger and chicken burger. Wow what more can be said the chicken was cooked well away from the beef and the onion rings were cooked in oil which hadn't had fish cooked in Service was top draw and very polite. We all would recommend you visit here

Not the cheapest burger in town, however it was delicious and worth the price in my opinion.

Seberice straight away no time to decide what to have. Really nice service.Posh but apart from that quite good.
