Very friendly service, my boyfriend had the English breakfast, I had soup and sandwich with brown bread which was delicious.

Ordered a Special fried rice, sweet and sour with battered chicken balls. The special fried rice was perhaps the driest, most tasteless special fried rice I have ever ordered. The battered chicken balls were almost all batter, it wasn't terrible but was bland. The sweet and sour sauce was the only redeeming factor, it was okay.

We stayed in Scarcliffe for a few months for work. Popped into the Horse & Groom on the first night not expecting much…went back the following night for more. We was in there every night. What a great place. Ran superbly, very welcoming and accommodating. The locals there are incredible and a proper crack! Made our months there so much better. We couldn’t have done it without this pub. Real pints, real people 👍🏽 The lads from Margate say Hello and hope to see you soon 👋🏽

Called for a snack at lunchtime found there was a funeral wake taking place but was still very good service and the food was excellent 4

We decided to try the Elm Tree because we are moving to the local area soon. We went on a Friday at lunch time and it was clearly very popular; with a lovely atmosphere. When we arrived at 12:30 they were already low on some ingredients so some meals weren't available. The staff were very polite and attentive. The menu is a little more expensive than other places but the food was mostly cooked well and very well presented on the plate. The only issue we had was with my partner's meal which was the mixed grill. The steak had a lot of fat (not marbled but uncooked fat around the edge) and he didn't receive the onion ring on the plate as stated on the menu. We raised it with our waitress and received an apology. It wouldn't stop us from going back but the response was a little disappointing.

Soup was outstanding,coffee lovely and quiche was good,but then the panini came with hardly any cheese in a cheese and panini sandwich,really disappointing.Very busy so I can only assume it was an oversight but it spoilt what should of been a great meal.

If I could put 0 stars I would. We ordered from here on Sunday, it took nearly 3 hours for our food to arrive this was after phoning up 3 times for updates. It magically appeared after I asked for a refund and to cancel the order, obviously by this point our food was cold so I contacted food hub they did try to help however because I ordered from the official website they couldn't provide a refund. The manager was ment to contact me, no shock that it didn't happen what a joke of a takeaway don't waste your time or money folks.

What can I say about The Devonshire. From the moment we stepped through the door you could feel the warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff were very lovely and attentive. Nothing was to much trouble. There was no wait time at the bar or for our table. We oredered the blade of beef and the lamb shank. The service was quick and efficient despite being busy. The food was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The meat melted in the mouth, it was delectable. Nothing was over cooked or under cooked. For desert we both had the lemon sicilian baked cheesecake, beautifully presented, full of delicious flavours and very light. Overall a fabulous meal. I would recommend booking early as it gets very busy very quickly, but I can highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant. It's also very reasonably priced. Can't wait for our next visit ❤️

What a fantastic venue! Amazing food, friendly staff, and a lovely, warm atmosphere. We were quite a large party (30 + guests) with a variety of ages and dietary needs, but everyone was catered for with care and attention. Well done Scott and your team. We’ll definitely be back.

Had a really tasty 3 course Sunday lunch, plenty of food excellently presented and cooked.staff lovely the decoration superb. My local restaurant and absolutely devastated to hear it has to close . Will be missed
