Chip Inn in Bolsover

We thought we would try the chip inn after recently moved to the area. We were appalled that the fish had small flies with in the batter. After phoning to let them know I was promised £15 to be delivered by the delivery driver. I have received nothing. I have photos of the meal

never had a bad meal from here quality is 10/10 portion size is more than enough

2 chippy's in our village as well as numerous other takeaways but we would rather pay delivery to have our food delivered from here 2 villages away because its simply fantastic food , good quality decent price and very flavoursome 5 stars

Visited this evening before a walk round the woods. A lovely warm welcome, beautiful food cooked fresh at an extremely reasonable price. We will most definitely be back.

Food was good and arrived hot but I was missing the onion rings…

Quick delivery, nice food but writing this rewiew for the delivery driver. Nicest delivery driver with had and very honest don’t get these days he’s a treasure to your company, lovely man 🤩

Really disappointed to be honest never had a bad meal but this time the fish batter wasn’t cooked through, leaving the fish slimy I rekon. Ate most of what I could as I couldn’t be bothered to have to return or complain. Hoping it was a one off, will be trying again in the future though.

After ordering on the app, i arrived at the specified time to collect my order, to which I was welcomed with a member of staff saying they had forgot to do my order, therefore I had to wait a further 15 minutes. when getting home, the pie was soggy as it had clearly just been chucked in the microwave and wasn't even hot. I have used this place many a times before without issues, but this was very disappointing, and no offer of any kind of compensation, eg a bottle of drink, or discounted cost, or even an apology for the service, I may have to go further afield in future

overall it was a good meal, apart from the slight lateness off the order was a little upset with the amount of meat to salad in the mixed meat kebab we received - for the price we've had better portions from other takeaways

I had some chips with my salt. Had to throw them away sadly. onion rings were cold but my fish was nice

Absolutely delicious as always and Piping hot too. The only thing that makes me sad about the Chip inn is the guys don't make Yorkshire fishcakes 😋 or I would probably spend and extra £50 here a week 😂

Food was plentiful and just above average ingredients wise. The operator needs larger boxes instead of cramming chips, meat etc very tightly in the packaging.

Called in today for our tea we both enjoyed it and will be calling again thanks

food is normally very nice but unfortunately due to it being delivered late it was cold and we didn't enjoy it this time.

This place is a hidden secret, absolutely fantastic food, and never knew they did delivery until last week, and it's as fresh and tasty delivered as going too them, really impressed, Thank you so much !!!!!!!!

Arrived super hot which is good. The wrap was so tasty, only problem was the chicken wraps are definitely smaller than expected, I thought they would be full size especially for price. I Will order again as can’t faulty quality.

Great food always fresh and hot. Value for money. Great staff. Best chippy around. Moved away so no delivery for us so always collect. We wont go anywhere else. Kebabs , wraps and onion rings are lovely. Nice thick gravy mmm

FOOD. Had some amazing fish and chips. The vinegar is to die for. SERVICE. the staff know how to shake that salt. ATMOSPHERE. Has I left it was raining so I popped up my umbrella, it touched the shops tv Ariel that ran down the wall outside. Just then a blot of lightning came down the wire and jumped onto me. Hair raising springs to mind.

Absolutely amazing food , quality food at very reasonable prices couldn’t ask for more . Red hot really good portion sizes . Complimented by outstanding customer service . Since I used this chip shop I won’t use another local chippy . I actually go out of my way because of the quality , quantity & value 😀. It’s 10/10 from me

Best Chippy in Whitwell wouldn’t go anywhere else….

Had chips and battered sausage on Friday, cooked in dripping they tasted amazing. Each one was like a chip shaped roast potato, slightly crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Still drooling 2 days later.

Great Chippy, cannot recommend them enough. Really good menu choice, well priced. The staff are excellent, the website is easy to use to order and deliveries are made on time. Plus my dog loves the sausages

Brilliant chippy! Food is tasty-can't say same for staff though hehe, but they are very friendly and welcoming, iv been going since I was a little girl and will even travel now from chesterfield just for a spam fritter with a chip cob an curry sauce! It's always a pleasure to go an see Tim, him an his staff are Brill they always put a smile on your face, an even if it's been a while since going in you will always be greated as if you only went in yesterday.

Best chippy in the area by a long shot A+++++ Delivery lady is always cheerful too.

Got a cold sloppy bacon burger with Grissel bits and cold sloppy chips other items were edible but least the dog will have a burger to eat as it refused the bacon

Got the order entirely wrong offered to replace I refused and stated we would be requesting a refund.

Not bad today but bread roll was a bit stale but other stuff was ok

2nd bad order in a row after ordering from here at least 5 times a month for the last year. It used to be my favourite place to go as the quality of food while not being the cheapest was expectional but something has clearly changed. Donor Kebab meat was so dry, not as good as it used to be. Chips were ok but again not as good as they were. Gutted to be honest I always relied on this place to be better than the rest. By all means the food isn’t bad it’s just not great like it used to be.

Spend a lot of money here more or less every week order hours early before hand and always late and on option for part refund for being late they always decline and expect you to except their times and conditions, not very happy with this place lately going down hill lately 😡😡😡😡

My first bad experience from this takeaway but nonetheless I want to share my experience. I ordered 2 cartons, one beans and one peas. Upon arrival both cartons were only half full. Shocking given it’s £1.25 each and one carton was wrong, they sent Curry instead which I do not like. Also the amount of chips tonight was less than usual. Let’s hope it’s a one off and not the sign of cutting back on the quality which has made this my favourite takeaway in the area.

The food was cold when it arrived the food was very greasy and just not very nice I am not very impressed impressed with the food at all at it took 1hour 30 minutes to arrive which I feel is a very long time I will not be ordering from here again

Ordered cod small chips and large pies earlier to takeaway. Got home and plated up only to find the fish was haddock. I couldn’t bring it back once plated up. So got to say poor. As I asked for cod and she repeated it back to me. It’s not as they were that busy. Won’t be using it again for quite awhile again.

Wow! Ordered fish and chips (nice and simple) over the phone for delivery, and it was SO good! The batter on the cod was crispy, light, and tasty, and the fish was perfectly done. The chips (small portion) were really nice too, I have to say! The delivery was pretty fast considering the time of day, and the lady delivering it was really friendly and nice. The fish broke in two as I moved it from its own individual wrapping, so the picture really doesn't do it justice, but this was the best fish and chips I've had in a while! Top stuff!

Took over 1.5 hours to get here. When it arrived, the chips were one half soggy and white, and the other half overcooked. The fish batter was full of black powdery bits. The cob and cans of shandy & dandelion & burdock were very nice though.

Chip Inn Fish & Chips appalling customer service. Just ordered our family tea to be delivered. arrived with items missing. Called and the rude person at the end of the phone said well we put it in and we can’t get hold of the driver until tomorrow now. No apology, no offer of re delivering my items and ended the call!
