We weren't planning to stop here for food but very glad we did. Excellent friendly service, tasty food and a delicious selection of cakes. Clearly popular with the locals and I can definitely see why.

We popped into the Coffee Cup for a coffee prior to visiting the castle on a miserable rainy day. It turned out to be a homely, very friendly place. The coffee turned into a full English for all four of us, which we enjoyed thoroughly. Good tea and coffee. Reasonable prices. The lady who served us was exceptional. It makes a lovely change to encounter someone with a sense of humour who obviously wants the customers to be happy with their experience of the place. Sadly we were too full to try the cakes, which looked delicious. On leaving we discovered the little courtyard with interesting shops and an outdoor seating area, a pleasant surprise!

We found this cafe on a visit to nearby Bolsover Castle and stopped for lunch. We all had panninis …two tuna, cheese and chutney and our grand-daughter had bacon and Brie. They were all delicious ( and huge!) and with tea for two served in china cups and one cold drink excellent value for money! The staff were very pleasant and it was a great find!

Took over 45 minutes for food to arrive during which time at least five tables got the wrong order. When it did arrive ours was wrong too, and turned out to be for a table who ordered an hour ago. Person taking it out did not have a clue where they were going, just shouting what they had rather than taking it to the numbered table. Food was excellent and a good price though.

Never been to Bolsover before & my daughter & I were lucky enough to stumble upon this little gem. We made the most of the sun & sat outside in the pretty courtyard. We had the sandwich & cream tea option - delicious & very fresh. So cheap too, only £6.20 for all this food plus a drink (see photo). Service was great - very friendly & attentive. Highly recommended.

I ordered a Mocha and Chicken, Bacon and Cheese with BBQ sauce Panini, with salad. I had the last available table downstairs, very popular for 11.30am. Nice and warm inside, very inviting. The Panini was nicely presented. The salad was fresh, crisp and delicious. The Panini was oozing with flavour. Tables were thoroughly cleaned between quests. They also do all-day breakfasts. I can see why it's still no.1 in Bolsover.

My family ordered food for my grandfathers 90th birthday tea party. We asked for it to be done for 10 people and we were more than pleased with what we recieved. It was a great variety of delicious fresh sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls and more. We also got cheese and plain jam and cream scones which were fresh and tasty. Staff were really pleasant and helpful and we couldnt recommend them enough.

Great café, friendly staff, lovely setting, fab food and fantastic value. Been several times and it never disappoints. Afternoon tea booked for 22nd October. Can't wait. The Coffee Cup thoroughly deserves its reputation.

First time in Bolsover and we were ready for lunch. At 2pm we found a couple of places that had already finished serving for the day and another eatery that we felt was overpriced. We then saw the Coffee Cup but wasn't really impressed with the frontage. However, we walked a little further and found the lovely courtyard, with several tables, a recycling workshop and well stocked wool shop. We ordered cheese and tomato paninis but they only had one panini so we had that and a toastie. The staff were very nice and the food was very tasty! (and half the price of an establishment close by). The cakes and scones looked scrummy but we were already stuffed unfortunately. Will return given the chance.

What a lovely little place. Sitting outside in the glorious sunshine, or indoors if the weather’s not great, you could be anywhere. The food is homemade and delicious with a wide range of choice available. Thanks to Sally and Ruth for a lovely afternoon tea.

This cafe has just re-opened. Big front windows let the sunshine in. Has an upstairs dining area as well. Quite a good menu selection with various specials. I had my usual choice, mocha and on this occasion, the cake was date and walnut. Definitely homemade....

I nip down during a break at work to grab some tasty baked stuff and a sandwich. Always helpful and friendly.

Everything really good except for one strange thing. On checking the bill more closely later I found that I had been charged 1p each for the three glasses of TAP water given for "Service". If I'd known that at the time, I'd have taken 3p off the 15 pound tip I gave at the end. One pettiness deserves another?

Lovely cafe, great friendly service with a welcome as soon as you get through the door. All the ladies served with a smile and provided a treat for my dog. All tables were spotless and were cleaned as soon as any customers left. Had the Pump breakfast which was really tasty, and treated myself to a cake from the extensive choice. Will definitely be back

My mum and dad are receiving meals delivered by “take a break”. I can’t speak highly enough and thank them for what they offer. Obliging and caring. Delivered hot and the previous crockery picked up. My mum is used to cooking meals but she says how tasty and delicious their food is. Very important when you are not on your best form. The meals have fresh vegetables and certainly are a generous plate full. All the meals go down well. Thank you to the team and keep up this important service.
