Had a family meal out food was great friendly staff would highly recommend 🙂

Wow! Amazing first experience, no request was too much, staff go above and beyond; will definitely be visiting again!

Quite possibly the worst pub meal experience I've had in a long time. We waited just under an hour and a half from arriving to receing a meal and it really wasn't that busy). Service is shocking and I do think they forgot our order and came up to ask what we had ordered. Has a depressing down and out vibe. Could do so much better it's a shame.

It's a pub and how you would expect it outdated and warn out, dingy dive bar, needs a good tidy up, but what's not acceptable is dogs wandering around in and out the kitchen from the smoking area doing there business outside then back in the kitchen. Friendly staff, it's okay to get drunk at.

Staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond with service. My Niece even made her own pizza which she loved doing and made the experience even better.

We went to watch the football match & the whole time was great, we enjoyed our time in there

Expensive, no WiFi or mobile data, an hour wait for food, chips and fish burnt

Really cozy atmosphere, the staff are really friendly and it is dog friendly. Definitely recommend the homemade pizzas, will be visiting again for definite! 🍕

If carlsberg did pubs it would the Cavendish Hotel Bolsover, probably the best home cooked pub grub I've had , absolutely outstanding food at the right price in these hard times , dog friendly and the staff are very welcoming 🙏.. would highly recommend a vist ,we will definitely be returning 😀

Came in to watch the football and have a quiet drink while exploring Bolsover. Owner was arguing and shouting at, I’m presuming, his daughter about the tv not working. Ordered 3 Pepsi max which ended up being poured from a bottle (which cost over 7 quid), not from the pump which is available, as was used by the young lady when we first arrived, so the drinks were warm. When the owner finally got the tv working and stopped shouting at the young lady it was left so loud that we couldn’t have a decent conversation without shouting.

Had an amazing breakfast here it was all cooked fresh and all staff was very frustrating would definitely recommend to friends

Went for food both Xmas eve and Xmas. Lovely food and friendly folk. Will be coming back for more whenever I am in bolsover. The pizza is very good although I only had a slice of my uncles.

Great atmosphere friendly staff.

Went with colleagues following Christmas meal - really enjoyed our evening there. We had a dance then Karaoke came on and that was it. In my element. We never left for another pub all night. Happy to spend there, a great atmosphere and some really decent people in there. Overall, would recommend and go again. We didn't eat, we just celebrated our Christmas 'do' after eating elsewhere.

We have been living here for over 2 years now, we took our friends here few weeks back. The food is 👌 perfect. Very tasty, good portions and freshly made. The staff is very nice and welcoming. Will be coming here more often.

So so impressed with the food here! Lovely, very typical English feel to the pub and the food was exceptional. 2 kids had pizza -delicious. I had the Sunday roast £9.50 for the tastiest biggest roast I’ve had and a pudding which was also delicious! Thank you!

Visited for Sunday lunch and there was only one other table with 5 guests eating at the time although quite a number drinking in the bar area. Waited a good 20 minutes for our main course and one of the meals had the wrong meat on but I accepted this. The meals were absolutely enormous and there were enough vegetables on each plate for a family of 4 so rather a waste of food. We were advised that the price which was really good included a desert so ordered. After waiting a furthe 20 minutes my husband’s desert arrived but still no sign of mine after he had finished his and waited an additional 10 minutes, ended up leaving. Unfortunately they did not seem to have enough staff working to cover both bar and dining areas, will not be returning.

Food was good however was given wrong main course and gave up waiting for desert, waited 20 minutes for husband’s desert and waited a further 10 minutes for mine and then gave up. Far too many vegetables on plate there were enough for 3 people which was a big waste of food.

Cracking staff brilliant atmosphere with good quality of drinks and snacks brilliant food the landlord is not too bad but we all can get on with him 😀 😉

Could be good. One young girl on her own, can't do the roper food hygiene between pulling pints. People allowed to vape everywhere.

Been to cavendish for coffee lovely fresh coffe and great service also been on numerous occasions for food excellent service and home cooked food well worth a visit. Well done Emily and team cavendish

My dad ordered lunch and drinks, the staff hadn’t a clue what they were doing. She had to use 2 different tills, 1 for drinks and the other for food. My dad asked for a receipt and was told it had to go to the kitchen. The food took over an hour to come out, it was inedible, the meat tasted off, as if it had been lying around for a couple of days. We complained and was told we could have a free dessert ( we didn’t want one), then 15 minutes later we were told we could have a free drink ( we didn’t want another drink either because would already had 2 of each). The manager in charge (couldn’t work out if he was head chef) was sitting in his chef’s whites, talking to his mates in the main bar. When I went over to DISCREETLY complain, he became ‘shirty’ and told me I wasn’t getting my money back. When I asked him to read up about ‘my rights’, after I explained about the Food Standards Agency, he started shouting at me and told me that we were barred. Don’t worry as we certainly WON’T be going back. Most disappointing, as this place had been recommended.

Best pub ever, meet amazing characters every time, fantastic staff, love Les the manager. The best home made pizzas and food. Best pub in Bolsover, welcomes our two annoying cockapoos. Can't fault anything. Lucky this is our local. X

We have lived in Bolsover for a couple of years now and finally managed to pop in for a couple of pints. Guinness was superb. Bar staff really friendly and chatty. Will be back soon

Went in for a meal and drink, after paying for both we sat down and had our drinks and waited and waited 3/4 hours later asked how much longer the meal would be the lady said she is by herself and hadn't even started ours yet and didn't know how much longer it would be so we asked for our money back, can't believe she was left to run the bar and cook for people, we did feel sorry for her as we upset her for asking for our money back, but it really wasn't her fault being left alone to cope.

I asked about it and girl said the landlord makes his own doe to his own recipe and it showed. Topped with LOTS of toppings. Just awesome. I’ll be back to try the main menu soon. Lovely pub with a comfortable friendly atmosphere and lovely staff. Oh, had a pint of Morretti and they clearly keep their lines clean regularly too. It was a fresh tasting pint. Just what I needed in this hot weather. It’s right on the high street opposite the bus stop so you can’t miss it. Well worth a visit. Oh footnote. I’ve picked parking below. Although they don’t have a carpark they are RIGHT next door to Morrisons with no parking time restrictions. So happy days.

Kira and Diane looked after our party like we were royalty. We travelled from London to Bolsover for a wedding and found this excellent place to eat and drink. I strongly recommend the pizzas. Cooked in front of you and the service is fantastic. Like the staff here, the prices are very attractive. I would recommend this place to anyone. ♥️

Really disappointed, we went on the bank holiday Monday afternoon and admittedly it was busy but when we placed our food order we were not told about any wait for food or anything. From here things went downhill, I ordered a Coke Zero and when it arrived it tasted like sparkling water, there was no flavour to it at all, they then replaced it but it took them about 10 minutes. We ordered 2 coke zeros, a fosters and a tea. Everything but the tea came out and it took about 15 minutes for the tea to actually come to the table. we ended up waiting for about an hour for 2 wraps, a burger and side of chips. When the food arrived the burger tasted and felt as if it was cooked in the microwave, the side of dirty chips that came out where absolutely caked in bbq sauce which made them almost un edible and the chicken wrap had 95% lettuce and 5% chicken in it. Definitely not worth the almost £60 that was paid for 4 lunchtime meals and 4 drinks! Do not recommend!!

Absolutely amazing Sunday dinner for our party of 7 we all really enjoyed all the food and the atmosphere was great the staff did everything to accommodate our needs kids ate every bit of their dinner great value for money.

We came for a lunch/dinner and ordered some steaks, tasteless and under/over cooked. The mashed potatoes didn’t taste like mash at all. More like old potatoes. The service was slow - we waited an hour for the stakes, the bar had no staff, and we only managed to ordered one drink each and from then we couldn’t manage to order anything. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Incredible place!!! Les has been in the business for over 35 years and this is the best of the best. The only thing left to do is try for yourself!!

Les and Tammy have done such a wonderful job at creating a wonderful, clean and happy place. Wonderful atmosphere and made to feel very welcome by staff, great service from both Lilly and Kira and an excellent meal cooked and presented excellently by Emily and Donna. Great team and will 100% be returning.

Really welcoming. The food smelled and looked delicious but we didn't eat on this occasion. Very nice cup of coffee.

Very disappointed with the service, despite being very friendly, it took over 45 minutes for a sandwich and a baked potato. Right now I can’t tell you if it was worth the wait as I’m still waiting as I write this review

We called in for an all-day breakfast. It was the best breakfast I've had. Each breakfast is cooked to order. I would highly recommend to all to try it once you've had it. You will be back for more. They also do a great Sunday lunch. Good food and good service from the hostess on Sundays

Nice small, local pub, tasty food, although service wasn't great. They did let us know food would be a while due to a big booking, no problem with that. But 90 minutes later for 4 meals and they got one of them wrong. Also waited half an hour for a coffee.

Absolutely love this place! After getting a puppy we struggled to find somewhere to go for breakfast where she could go! Les definitely made us feel very welcome and so did his dogs😍 Darla loves Dolly and is very settled when we visit..... Even Bella that isn't a fan of puppies has started coming to say hello to us. Love the cocktails and the atmosphere is so relaxed even the regulars make you feel welcome. The food is lovely and home cooked to order. And during January the small breakfast of 1 egg, 1bacon, 1sausage, 1 hash brown, baked beans and toast for £4 is a bargain!!! We will be returning over and over again xx

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere and great staff only nipped in for a couple pints and ended up staying for food, glad I did it was all homemade and great portion sizes many that’s the chief Emily for the amazing food.

Just nipped in for lunch and I cannot believe the quality and portion size of the food here, unbelievable value for money! Props to chef Emily who has well and truly set the bar for surrounding food establishments. Cannot wait to return soon 👍🏼
