The best restaurants serving British food in Worksop South Bassetlaw East Midlands

Went here for lunch with a friend. We hadn’t booked but with a wait we could be accommodated. I’ll book next time. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. They were disinfecting tables and chairs when customers left and tables were well distanced. The menu was full of interesting dishes so was spoiled for choice. I can recommend the cauliflower and onion bajhi salad. It’s classed as a light bite but it was very filling. Had already ordered carrot cake but managed to squeeze it in. It was a proper sized piece of cake too! The food was delicious and fresh. Would highly recommend it and will be back myself.

Came here with the family and enjoyed a full English. The food was cooked to perfection and the waiting staff very friendly. Top marks all round guys, thanks very much!

Been for a coffee with a friend coffee was bitter food looked like it had been left for hours, jacket was so dry and stale, bread has mould on it and not much salad and was wilted and slimy staff were rude and more bothered about chatting and doin there own thing when we complained they shrugged and carried on and didnt care i will never go there again

Down to earth, honest to goodness. No frills, friendly staff. I will certainly go there again. A friend has decided that it's her go-to place.

Best Cafe in Workshop for good value, honest, fresh cooked food. The staff we have always found to be friendly and efficient too. My wife and family have been frequenting this place for more than 15 years and have never had a bad experience. Yes the building is old Victorian era and has been many things before in its past, so it has obviously been knocked around quite a bit. This for me gives it character, look at the old creaky staircase and wonder who and how many people climbed them in the past.... If this building could speak it would tell some interesting.tales I'm sure. There are many things you could say are not great standard if you are hard to please but the food quality and staff are top notch and this makes it a comfortable place to eat, our type of cafe. My particular fave dish is the Cheese Omelette, but between me, my wife and our children we have tried quite a good selection from the menu without complaints. We are always greeted on entry and the food is always served in a timely fashion, with a smile. We have tried other cafes in Workshop but they don't have the value, character or warmth that this one has. So try it out, if it's not for you go and be robbed by some of the other pirates in Worksop.

Unfortunately it has to be a whopping 0/10. This is not for the food or the decor, but from a manager who has no customer service experience, what so ever and very patronising!!! It was my friends birthday and had been book for some time. On the website it clearly says 12.00. So as most of us have come from worksop, they had booked a taxi for that time. Bearing in mind this is a Saturday evening. Had food , bought bottles of wine and double vodkas, enjoying our night. At just minute before 10.30, was told the pub was closing!!! Which we were all shocked about as we were told we had to leave the building. Asked if we could stay as it was cold ,raining and very windy." No" you've got to leave, "if it was worth our while staying open , then we would, but it's not!!!" Are we not worth you staying just till our new taxi come. Obviously not. " You can get another drink ". Frantically I tried to get a taxi, but its Saturday and they are all busy, but managed to get one for 11.30. We then asked if we could get another drink, which we was then told" No!! I called it 10 minutes ago" " But we were trying to organise a taxi"....." " No"!!! " You need to leave and wait on the front". She had forgotten that we hadn't payed for our meal. So we told her can't we please stay, just till our taxi come. The time was 11pm ,taxi coming at 11.30. No, was the reply!!! I actually only live on Mansfield rd, so I left at 11.05. Were the rest of the group payed for their meals. Would it really not hurt to stay open till the taxi arrived( another 25 minutes). Was our customer really not worth anything, and was it not worth staying open another 25 minutes , so that 3x women were not stranded in the cold, obviously not. Ohhh and apparently all Worksop pubs close at this time, I really think not!!! So if you are thinking of going for a special night out, want to spend money on food and lots of drinks, look at the website to arrange for your taxi home. My answer to you is don't bother. The manage was very rude, unhelpful, will throw you out at the drop of hat, and simply not give a dam whether you have a lift ir not, whether it's cold ,raining and winding. Because your money and custom is not worth staying open for!!!!( by the way, she had to clean up, cash up ,there was a lad cleaning glasses, but we could not stay until our lift had arrived . Congratulations for caring , considerate customer service. You went above and beyond to LOSE custom which obviously you dont have because it's not worth paying anyone to stay open abit longer. I wonder why!!!!!! As my local, I won't be going in again, only been in twice and had a bad experience that time as well. But was willing to let that go. But this was disgusting. It might have the look and decor of a beautiful pub, but it's the staff that makes it one to come back to .....and that's what let's it down.

5 came for birthday lunch. Excellent meal, good value for money and very friendly staff. This is the second time we have visited for a ladies that lunch date.

Los jueves esta pequeña cafetería tiene un evento social para comer. Corre desde las 4 pm a 6 pm y por £2.50 se puede disfrutar de una comida de 3 platos. El sonido demasiado bueno para ser verdad bien no lo es. Es un menú fijo así que si no te gusta lo que está en oferta no hay opción y la porción tamaños no son enormes, pero es buena comida casera de calidad y seamos honestos se puede preparar una comida de tres platos por £2.50 porque yo no podía . El personal es encantador y el servicio es excelente y es realmente una buena relación calidad-precio. Voy más semanas y lo recomiendo.

Great food, Sunday dinner and burgers at the weekend.

This pub can vary considerably in quality as an experience. The drinks are generally MUCH cheaper than `normal` pubs but they often don`t have much choice other than dreary Greene King, Doom Bar, etc. If you are lucky, it`s possible to find great beers at 1/2 the price they would be elsewhere. Wetherspoons don`t have music playing, which is great - allowing conversations to take place. However, the lady who does the quiz shouts down the microphone to such an extent that they could probably include players in the church on the other side of the road! PLEASE either turn it down ( a lot ) or abandon the quizes. It`s not as though many people actually take part, so why annoy the others?

I'm an Uber driver and I've been working with this store for 3 years. Recently, a girl was hired who speaks badly to customers and drivers. When I wanted to order food, I was refused on the grounds that I work for Uber and that I don't she is allowed to serve me. this is not true. and on her shift the waiting time increased to 20 minutes. when you ask details about your order she tells you to cancel it as she is busy and has no time to place your order. I asked her name so I could report and she refused to talk to me. it seems bad for a simple employee to refuse customers on some invented reasons

The staff are amazing and the food is what you would epect. However nothing changes so i could not go for a year but when i next go back i know what is good and what is not. It doesnt go down over time as most places. I have been going for over 10 years and would love to take me children there one day.

Only called in as I couldn't get served in the Unicorn as it was so busy. I should have realised that there was a reason why this pub was empty!!!! I had a pint of Ginuess (from a tin) but it wasn't cold enough and tasted awful. Ive been drinking the stuff for a long time and have never had to return a pint so felt suitable qualified to mentioned it. However instead of offering an apology the barmaid just argued that the tin was cold. I left it and walked out. I don't like leaving negitive reviews, but believe this deserves it.
