The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

It’s worth veering off the main stretch of shops and restaurants in West Bridgford to find Tiffin. It’s a lovely traditional tearoom and cafe brimming with homemade, high quality sweet and savoury treats in a welcoming setting. We called in on a Saturday lunchtime and found excellent friendly service, a delicious lunch menu with a tempting specials board, an inventive cake selection and a list of specialist teas. I could have happily sampled the entire menu but we tried the rarebit and avocado and halloumi on sourdough, rounded off with a generous slab of Neapolitan cake. All superb! We were surrounded by tables who had booked the afternoon tea which also looked excellent. Pick this place if you fancy your hot beverages served in floral china cups and saucers, a lovely atmosphere and a change from your usual ultra modern coffee shop.

Normally the best chippy in Wellingborough they are usually extremely generous with their chips but this has been hit and miss recently & today was a total miss. They were supposed to be freshly cooked but again a big miss on that too 🥹

Would have liked the quiz to be same as before. And the bingo. Maybe next week, when the manager is in. 🤞

Order regularly for work on a Friday dinner. The cans of drink regularly get forgotten. But great food... the cheese cakes are a must

Great atmosphere, obviously popular with locals on a Friday night. Felt welcoming too. Would have stayed for food but fully booked and would have been a long wait..... Obviously a good sign! We will be back.

Great service and delivery from here. Food was as always spot on - tray of meat,roe and chips. Never had a bad meal ever ….. its always fresh, hot and tasty!

Went for a walk along the Marina to Attenborough and back. Popped in the cafe for something to eat. Very friendly establishment. I had double egg, chips, bread and butter and a tea. Went down well. Thank you Tony and staff.

Had a meal here, last week, amazing food, great atmosphere, the owners are very welcoming, perfect portion sizes and the whole place is clean and tidy, will definitely be back here soon :)

Booked a karaoke party to celebrate my daughter turning 10 & wow wow wow. Was 10 out of 10. Simon the party host was on it, knew how to keep everyone upbeat, happy & make it one special memorable birthday party. My daughter felt so special & we would 100% recommend booking this venue if you’re thinking to have a party. Thank you so much to Simon & the staff for one unforgettable birthday party & such amazing decoration & loved loved the digital light up board & the Photo Booth, chocolate fountain - the list can go on on on. :)

Closed. 😭 A cosy cafe with friendly and attentive staff. Indoor and outdoor seating in a quiet courtyard conveniently located just off the high street. Nice breakfast and lunch menus available; and of course a good selection of cakes and deserts. Well behaved dogs are allowed inside and outside; water and complimentary treats offered. Parking just a couple of minutes walk away; toilet / baby-changing facilities on-site (ask staff for key). Card payments accepted. Highly recommended.

Regularly attend for the bar and pool table. Not experienced dining service here. Always a friendly welcome from all the staff and a lively atmosphere. The plough hosts a good choice of bar drinks and a good table for a quick game of pool. Would recommend.

Food was delicious good company lovley staff.

Called in as it is in the CAMRA GBG. A tad disappointing as several hand pumps were dead. The Ashover Littlemoor Citra was in good order though.

No finer value anywhere, all food freshly cooked, good portions and excellent prices.
