The dove in Leicester

Quality and quantity was spot on, no problems. Three small 'issues'; no refills on herbal tea but there is on normal tea and, being charged for milk to go with the tea? Lastly, no butter on or with the bacon bap/bun. Probably fair explanations and this isn't a slant on the quality or food on offer as it was great. Plenty of breakfast options too and service was spot on.

I had a great experience, the bar staff Kyron and Misty made me feel very welcomed and we're always on point with the service and banter 😀

The pub itself is very cutesy, but the staff aren’t very mindful, very demure. We waited a long time to be seated (with a reservation and it was dead) We felt like a massive inconvenience for coming in.

Hidden gem! Great setting, incredible food, excellent service. Our 5th visit after discovering The Dove a few years ago. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Delicious food served with a smile in a totally relaxed, unrushed atmosphere. We'll be back again soon!

Didn't have any food but will do next time. This was my third visit - I come down from Edinburgh every 2 to 3 months and my nephew, who lives in Leicester, always brings me to The Dove because, he kowes I like a "good pint" and The Dove does not disappoint!

Good food as always, and good value. Lovely atmosphere, but I always find the service a bit hit and miss. Last time we visited service was fantastic. Today we were seated and asked straightaway if we would like drinks. Then didn’t have the feeling we were being looked after. After 10 minutes of waiting I had to gain the attention of one of the waitresses standing by the wall, so we could place our order. I’m not sure how long we would have had to wait otherwise and it was not particularly busy. Having said that we always enjoy the food and atmosphere and it’s on our doorstep.

OMG! What lovely food. The staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. The menu choice was good, enough to choose a meal that met your needs. There was no pressure, you didn’t feel “hassled”, it felt like you had all the time in the world! The service was spot on, food presented beautifully and hot. Everything was freshly made no microwaved or frozen food here. We hadn’t been for many years and the transformation is great!! They also have started a breakfast menu and have speciality menus, all of which we will be returning to try!!! Well done Alex and Rheanna, you’ve made the place somewhere we will definitely be returning to soon, keep up the good work and standard!

Sunday lunch for a table of 11 in aid of our Mum's birthday. Food was so nice that we will all be returning again in the near future The service was also fab. Having taken a cake for said Birthday. The team were very helpful with bringing out and providing napkins. Would recommend you give them a try!

I was so excited when I saw the Chef’s Specials (on Instagram) at The Dove as the N’duja Pasta looked incredible! I was heading over to Oadby anyway and thought what a great excuse to go for lunch and try the special. When I arrived, the girl that looked after me was so kind and welcoming. She was very attentive and gave me ample amount of time to browse the menu before ordering. She was able to tell me some of their mocktails they have on offer, despite not having a drinks menu, and I ordered a Peach on the Beach which was incredible! I didn’t really need to browse the menu as there was only one reason I was there…the pasta. I was so excited and was already having a lovely experience. She brought out my food and I dug in. Now I understand that N’duja has a kick to it but I wasn’t expecting the dish to be as hot (in spice) as it was. The heat kicked in very quickly so I ate the sundried tomatoes which gave a lovely sweetness to the dish. I then tried the chicken to take away from the heat of the sauce, but the chicken had definitely been left on the grill too long (for my liking). I love grilled chicken, but chargrilled is not for me (and it wasn’t stated as this either). The garlic bread wasn’t great either. Overall, I was really disappointed with the meal. To better my experience, I decided to have a dessert as the menu looked fab! I opted for the Lemon Meringue Cheesecake. Two other customers also ordered this so I had high hopes. It looked delicious but as I made my way through, it became too tangy. I love cheesecakes and have only ever had sweet tasting ones. Unfortunately, the cream cheese mixture wasn’t to my taste. After feeling really disappointed, I was quite quick to leave and the waitress sorted me out very promptly. As she was the only waitress manning four busy tables, I didn’t want to hold her up and waste time feeding back about the poor quality of the main dish. I simply paid and left. Altogether, the bill came to £31.65 for a main, a dessert, a mocktail, and a half glass of Diet Coke. Personally, I feel that this was quite pricey for what I received, and in comparison to other establishments that I have visited where I have received far better meals for the same price. I really enjoyed my last two experiences at The Dove so feel really disappointed. I don’t feel that I’ll be in a rush to come back unfortunately. The three stars are purely for the service and in hindsight, I wish I would have tipped the waitress for her impeccable service.

£6.20 for a pint of peroni?? Absolutely ridiculous, you’re not in London but hipsters you wish to be… very attractive interior and the menu sounded interesting but bar prices are extortionate and unjustified. (Also kitchen is not open until 5)

Just had lunch here with my family for a catch up. We travelled up to see grandparents (we live in Ipswich, Suffolk) and it was worth the visit! Our server (I think her name was Shaniya? Or something similar?!) was so sweet and friendly, very attentive. Food was really nice and affordable. The decor inside the restaurant was really cosy too. I also like how in the ladies toilets there is a basket with toiletries and sanitary products. Very nice welcoming touch!

A very pleasant family meal. Jumbo chicken wings with garlic butter and parmesan, followed by a really tasty lasagne - both hit the spot perfectly. Staff were pleasant and very efficient - nothing was too much trouble.

I absolutely love going to The Dove! It’s got a little bit for everyone. Great outdoor seating for the summer and a big car park for those driving. I go drinking at the pub with my mates and for a meal with the family. Staff are the best too, extremely friendly and just top class.

My first experience at The Dove and I can honestly say the food was outstanding,the atmosphere fab and the service excellent. I will be telling all my friends and family The Dove is a must. x

They gave us enough space to bring our baby to Valentines Day. And managed to get other visitors to bring their fur baby too!! The 3 course meal was worth the price and perfect for the night

Went for Sunday lunch with family. 4 adults and 3 kids. We had the Sunday lunch menu and the specials. Food was amazing…. Quality and presentation were spot on!! The service was 5*, nothing was any trouble, very attentive and friendly staff! Some of our group were visiting from London and they were really impressed and complimented me on my choice of venue…. Thanks This was our 4th visit in 9 months and the service and food has been consistent every time 😀

I'm rarely getting so surprised by how good a place is, on-spot service by the staff this evening, food was delightful, the bar bit looks pretty much like other places to my knowledge but the restaurant bit at the back is absolutely stunning, will come back.

Not had food on the last few occasions Ive visited this pub, but the service is always rubbish. The staff hired do not want to work and always have a face on them for doing their job. I have never received one smile of any of the bar staff. This unfortunately represents the owners and Manager’s lack of customer service as well. He walks around with a face on him too. Never seen him greet regular customers. Really need to hire people that want to work and change their attitude. You chose to work in a customer facing based profession, don’t make customers feel bad for entering your establishment when they’re paying your extortion drink prices.

Booked here based on reviews after struggling to find somewhere close to Christmas that offered something other than a festive menu the Sunday before Christmas. A large pub with dining room at the rear the food offered has the staple pub menu but done very well with interesting twists. I had the roast beef an was given the option of pink or well done. I had pink and it was done perfectly, the rest of the table had fish and chips, maccaroni cheese and an butternut squash curry all given rave reviews by an ofter tough crowd! Service was very good and very good value for money would highly recommend and I wouldn't hesitate to go baxk for the roast beef.

A really excellent lunch time meal, very friendly and helpful staff and all at a fair price. I had the chicken, leek and ham pie which I would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

I always love coming to the Dove. Food great but unfortunately the service was a bit slow today. The waitresses were not as attentive as usual and there was bit of fussing around us where they were going to seat late bookings. I’m just hoping it was a one off.

I made the manager aware & she just said sorry & it was her fault that she didn't pass me the wine menu yo see the prices!!!!!! Not happy at all!!

Took an hour to serve our food & then it was a small portion with a burnt Yorkshire pudding...!! Really wasn't worth the wait or the money quite expensive Sunday lunch at £17 per head...!! Disappointing..!!

My brother dragged me there for a Hunters chicken, got there & wasn't on the menu. Our waiter was ever so good, offered to make 1 expecially for him! Such kindness & great service! The food was absolute heaven! Freshest sweet potato fries I've ever tasted in a restaurant. Even my little 1 was like "Mummy it's yummy". Place looks modern and amazing! Really enjoyed my dining experience there, had a great atmosphere. Would definitely come back! Wish was local to me, I'd be a regular!!! Thank you for going the extra mile x

Sea bass was excellent, swimming in pea soup with some wilted greens and baby new potatoes. Service was a bit slow, but it was busy with two big parties eating.

Great restaurant with plenty of options to cater for all dietary requirements. Food was freshly prepared and service was friendly. The restaurant is towards the back of the pub and has a nice feel, like a large conservatory. I'd happily dine here again.

Honestly was really happy with my experience, the food was great and the portions themselves where very good. The staff were super friendly and would often come check on us to see if we were okay. The atmosphere was beautiful and I was amazed on how beautiful the place is.

We went in for a sunday roast. It had been reccommended by family and they spoke highly about the food, so we thought to give it a try. We ordered: 2 x Sunday Vegan Roasts - the wellington was amazing! We werent fan of the soya meatballs and the homemade yorkshir pudding was ok...not the best but it was soo good to see the vegan yorkshire pudding there as many pubs do lnt offer it. Lots of potatoes and little veg with a lovely gravy sauce! 1 x Bang Bang Cauliflower- this was served as a starter and it was BEAUTIFUL! The presentation, the taste, portion size, everything was perfect. 1 x kid meal - Sausages (VE) beans and chips - the Sausages weren't that great at all, the taste, texture and everything about it just wasn't right. My child only had the chips and most of our gravy. Overall we thought it was ok but not the best. We would've liked more veg to be replaced with the meatballs and yorkshire pudding with the lovely wellington that was served. Also we reckon the vegan sausages need a but more flavour / better texture.

One of the best pubs in our UK Travels. Alex and Sophie are very kind. Food is very very well prepared and presented. You can taste the quality of ingredients and also portions are generous. Try the gnocchi and the Pizza Pitta Great also the tagliatelle as side. Prices are effordable. We will surely be back.

Popped in for afternoon brunch for a quick bite to eat , good prices and the food was lovely and can’t wait to try out the restaurant for an evening meal. Also to add we took 2 labradors in with us at the time with no issues. I would definitely recommend.
