Pavlos Kebabs And Pizzas in Leicester

I got my take-away thinking it would be another 'classic' chip-shop-like experience. Could I be more wrong? The guy in front, was lovely, very kind and fast! The fries were crispy and tasty, not soggy and tasteless. The mix I got (chicken-lamb) was delicious. The pita bread reminded me more of my home country (Greece) and less of a naan (which in this case is a plus). The mayo mixed well with the mix and the tomatoes and onions that I had picked instead of a 'classic' salad. The result was amazing. The portion was large. The price was reasonable (not cheap that makes you question quality) but not expensive (as inaffordable) either. Pavlos under the new management seems to be doing really well!!! I'll be a regular, after that!

Always a warm welcome. Excellent kebabs with crisp veg. I don't know ow what they put in their hot sauce, but if they bottled it I would buy a case. Hands down the best tasting lamb donar meat I've ever had.

The kebab shop was originally run by Greek cypriots and the food was great I've been going there for donkey's years. Then it was taken over by an Indian family who continued with an almost identical menu but added some Indian spicy kebabs to it so the food was still great. Now it's taken over by Muslims and all of the food is halal so all of the authentic Greek pork based sausages and kebabs have disappeared and you will get turkey ham and turkey based salami or pepperoni not the real thing on your pizza. Every time I've been they've managed to burn the pitta bread and the Doner kebab is incredibly oily and greasy where as it used to be fantastic. This is such a disappointment. I've been going therefore probably 25 years. With a Company name like Pavlos Kebabs it's got to be serving Greek food no matter who runs it and the Indian family did respect that and it's such a shame they gave it up after just several months because now it's just a rather unpleasant tasting shadow of its former self with a very limited halal only menu.

The meat in the kebab is ok sometimes a bit under done. Salad: sometimes it’s as though someone couldn’t be bothered to chop the lettuce or cabbage into smaller pieces, chunks/chunky is the flavour of the day. What on earth have they done with the tzatziki- it used to divine under the previous owners. Urgh disgusting tastes as though it has gone off.

Great kebab, plenty of flavour and a generous size but guys, the kebab meat needs sorting. Nearly broke a tooth on several pieces of bone! Tell your supplier to stop grinding up bones and adding to the mixture. You're going to send customers elsewhere. Other than that brilliant!

I first went here years ago, and was blown away. Never had kebab as good anywhere else, all made on premises as I understand. I used to eat here regularly. Owned by a wonderful Cypriot couple. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

First visited this place in about 1988 and it's as good as ever - the best kebabs in Leicester by far. Freshly cooked with great care and attention - and the owners are lovely. Try the pastourma - quite remarkable!

There is no place that does kebabs like this. Been coming here since I was a little girl. My kids even have the same views. Food is always amazing and definitely worth the wait.. when they are extremely busy food is still so tasty. Lovely family great service every time.

Best kebabs in Leicester and margarita pizza always cooked fresh to order my grandaughter loves her pavlos pizza. always clean and friendly staff. yes you do have to wait as cooked fresh to order but you are given estimated time on phone if collecting. The best things are worth waiting for !

This has been my favourite kebab shop for over twenty years. Run by a lovely husband and wife team, scrupulously clean & always tasty. My favourite is a large spicy chicken shish with extra chillis, though recently my partner had a pizza & thoroughly enjoyed it. I love this place, what more can I say!

Great food but shame about the service. It can take an absolute age to get your food but it is fresh and well cooked. However, this is the second time in a row that they have forgotten some of my order although I have paid for it. Will go elsewhere from now on.

The headline says it all. I’ve been coming back week after week for over 30 years because Chris & Marie’s kebabs are simply THE best! Their doner is home made with lamb and spices and is nothing like the greasy muck you’ll find in other kebab shops. The lamb is tender and the chicken is succulent. The salads are always fresh and their taramasalata is great too! I have mine in a wholemeal pitta with hot sauce, everything on and chillis ... mmm delicious!

Food delicious,served quickly and piping hot. They don't deliver on Fridays or Saturdays however we didn't mind, there was only one person working Saturday night and she was very friendly and hard working.We've tried a lot of takeaways over the years and can definitely say Pavlos is the best in Leicester. Will definitely be coming back.

I have to say it really was the best kebab Ive ever had. We ordered it then went over to the The Tap for a pint before and it was freshly cooked for us. It was delicious. So fresh and very tasty. Not fatty or greasy at all. Had the Kebab Specisl. Very very fill8ng and so very tasty and delicious. My first visit but it most certainly isn’t the last. I’ll be back!!!

Yes they are slow.... so be prepared to wait. But in terms of freshness, homemade, excellent quality takeaway food... I wouldn’t go anywhere else! And a friendly service too. 10 out of 10 every time.

Visited after reading all the “good “ reviews....Ordered chicken shish kebab, no taste , meat was absolutely plain, no marinate no spices, i wasn’t 100% sure it was even cooked properly by looking at it so had to check every single piece of meat before eating itSauces- again no taste Waiting time - waited over 30 mins for one kebab?! Very slowCan’t imagine to wait there when it gets really busy!Would I come back? Absolutely NO

Have known Chris and is wife years. Would not go anywhere else for a kebab or Pizza. Lovely people excellent service. We used to live Leicester but for 14 years live in Coalville but always go to there for our takeaway.

Most people get upset by the idea of eating kebabs when they have not been out for a heavy night out but this is one place that I will happily order kebabs from as an alternative to another takeaway. The kebabs are always made fresh to order and you can customise what you have with them - from bread and salad through to sauce. I don't think I have ever have a bad kebab from Pavlos! It's really nice fresh food and not at all how you might think of kebabs!

Well what can I say brill Food is fresh ,and tastes beautiful and tasty The only problem was the wait it was over an hour but went up the road to the pub and came back for it Worth the wait Well done

Have tried lots of other local takeaways- Pavlos is still the best. Delicious freshly made food. Their veggie burgers are superb.

All elements of this fine kebab establishment are and have always been the toppest of top notch. On the occasions I return to Leicester, I always make time for a Pavlos. Happily, my parents have moved closer over time!

Deliciosos kebabs en negocios familiares. Especialmente amable para los clientes (am convirtiendo en uno! ). El doner kebabs son mejores que puedes conseguir con ensalada de col con clase (especialmente en jugo de limón), real y fuente chili chilis con una variedad de niveles de calor. Entrar allí!

Been going here for 5 years. Utterly fabulous staff and food. never ever had a bad meal. Prices are much better than the franchises so get down there.

This place is excellent. I eat here often for the kebab meat and salad. They make their own donor, sausages, and pizza dough, and you can massively tell the difference compared to other takeaways.

For over 20 years Pavlos has been run by the same couple. We've never had anything but excellent food from here. Genuinely top kebabs!

i have been using Pavlos, at least once a month for over 20 years now...and can honestly say ,they do by far the finest kebabs in Leicester. in fact...i wouldnt even entertain of thought of going elsewhere.

BEST take away in Leicester without a doubt. The food is literally worth dieting all week for! We have recommended it to so many friends, and all of them have gone back for more. In fact, we have NEVER had a bad meal from them, or even mediocre. The service is absolutely fantastic - personable and friendly. It is rare that a week goes by without us giving Pavlos our custom! (P.S. All the extended family recommend it too!)

This kebab and pizza takeaway serves some of the best kebabs I have had in the UK, it is always a busy spot and very reasonably priced for the quality of the food served
