The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

Service was crap 30 minutes for breakfast come only 1 in . Then 3 more come in we got are breakfast last 🤦🤦. Food half cold not taste

Homemade shepherds pie 2 weekends ago, best cheesecake I've ever had! Everyone loved the dinner including our toddler! Her favourite and fresh chicken bites from proper chicken and strawberry ice cream! Lovely and cosy pub, with a great outdoor area for young kids.

This is a really splendid pub and restaurant. The welcome was warm. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent.

Great food great service great beer, staff and other people in the pub very friendly , castelton has two of the best pubs in the Peak District.

We’ve been coming to the splash for years now and we’ve never had an issue with any of our experiences. The food is always lovely and the staff are so welcoming. We really would recommend going.

Popped in to see if the had any tables left without booking, and the bar staff got us seated immediately. We only went in for a sandwich or something and ended up having the butchers block for 2. Well.......it was the nicest Sunday dinner I have ever had and worth every penny. The waiting staff were spot on. The food was exceptionally good. I will definitely 100% be back again. Thank you guys it made a refreshing change to go somewhere and it be..........perfect, well done

We had Sunday lunch here and it was great. We received a friendly greeting and were quickly shown to our table. We were served primarily by Harriet who was lovely as were the other staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The food came in good time and was very tasty. Highly recommend you try it and we will definitely be back 😊

1'st but definitely not the last time we will be eating in this establishment. Where do I start, on walking through the doors the staff were so helpful and highly knowledgeable! Of all parts of the restaurant, from where to seat 9 of us to what they had to offer. We were there for a birthday meal and wow what a meal. We had two of the sharing starters, Most of us had carvery ( better in my opinion than main stream carvery places) very warm the carvery was very polite and had time to talk to each and every person. There was one child with us there food looked of good quality, and one adult was eating from the main menu good food also. Then the dessert wow no more to be said. Can't wait to come back thanks to the whole team. Sorry no photo to busy eating

Lovely food and well presented. The staff were lovely apart from the older lady who was pointed out to me as the owner, sadly her perfume overpowered our food! You could actually taste her scent as she walked past! Maybe spray a bit less or give it a complete miss. We will return as the food is well worth it 😊

Lovely pub that cooks wonderful home made meals staff are so friendly especially josie behind the bar who served us quickly and generally was a very friendly and welcoming.

Have always loved this Pub and now it has had a recent makeover it is extremely attractive I telephoned to book a table for "Christmas Lunch" once their set menuhad been published and was available Fine However when we arrived we foundthat we were required to pre-order if we required to use this set menu Unfortunately we were not advised of this All dishes on that menu could be ordered from the A laCarte menu We had a lovely meal and enjoyed ourselves but of course it was moreexpensive so beware if you are thinking of using the set Christmas Menu!! It was a shame however that the little touches eg Christmas Napkins or a little Christmas decoration on the table had not been thought of Still hey there was a tree and a few other bits......

Nice local pub, Lovely beef and ale pie, the best homemade Victoria sponge in my life! Friendly staff. Worth to visit, great garden view

Lovely unspoilt village pub with no loud music blaring. The bar was busy with people having a post work drink and as it was early not too many eating. Our meals were lovely. Couldn’t fault them. Quick and efficient service all served with a smile. The steak was cooked to perfection and the chunky chips were awesome. Will definitely be returning.

Couldn’t have enjoyed a meal more than I did today, food absolutely spot on and plentiful. This meal was well worth the money we opted for 2 course and with drinks for 3 of us cost £65.00. Will definitely be going back and recommending to family and friends.
