Perfect fish and chips, reasonable price and great service 10/10

I had a kebab today for the first time quality was amazing one of the best iv had from a chip shop , i normally have a fish from there always bin happy with the quality of fish but now will be having a kebab chicken and Donna 10/10

Ben served us with an ease about him, very friendly and helpful. The chips were absolutely gorgeous. I don't know what potatoes they use but wow, one of the best chippies I've been to. The chicken tikka was way too spicy for me but the taste was spot on. So, if you can't handle the heat, go for something else. I would definitely return when in the area.

Food reasonable although had lengthy wait. Ordered 2 different pies. Asked the assistant to tell me the foil colour for the steak one. Black was the reply. The issue when I got home was that the foil dishes had been removed. Time for guess the pie ! Average overall.

Absolutely disgusting pie, that was clearly overcooked and simply kept warm. I couldn't even cut through the crust because it was so hard. Had to throw it straight in the bin. The worst pie I have ever had. Unbelievable how you think you can get away with it. Sent a complaint by email to their head office who couldn't even be bothered to respond (how ignorant and unprofessional). That's 3 customers you have lost.

Clean and a real professional operation, good it was open Sunday. Curry was weak and a letdown but everything else nice. 👍

I've tried George's in Nottingham before and found it quite good but this one not so much. The batter was quite heavy and chewy. And there was hardly any proper chips, they were all small ends. Mushy peas were good though. It wasn't bad, I'd just try somewhere else before going back.

Needed some food fast to feed two hungry Excellent food from here, open on Sundays too

Nice food here, but not as good as Georges used to be some years back.

Great food. Especially the homemade fish cakes. Definitely recommend

Best fish & chips I've had for a long time, remind me of sea side fish & chips, Nice crispy chips good portion size fish tasted great. Also seved in cardboard trays so environmentally friendly. I'm not from this area was passing through but would return just for the chips. Seating inside too and lovely friendly staff.

Chips warm , tastless fish average but bad stomach ache later , i had a mate with same problem ? Never again

We have used Georges fish and chip shop from time to time since the day they opened for the gluten free fish n chips and all was good, but the last couple of times we have had to return the fish as it was overcooked, dry, extremely small, and inedible, both times they have re cooked the order and it was better but no where near as good as it was during the first few weeks of opening, so today will be our last visit.

It a good chippy Price's are a little high but show me a place where there not now days. It cheaper than a pub that give you microwave snap.

Just been for a lunchtime special. Portion size is ridiculous. Not enough to feed a child. I wasn't expecting loads but this was a total rip off! The chips were dry too...

Food was lovely and lunchtime deal was very reasonable priced, the seating area could be more comfortable and inviting though

We. Went and my dad lost his phone and they gave it back with out hesitating and the food was nice just the chips were very salty. Dad - I had asked for the chips to be extra salty and thought everything was mint to be fair!!! The prices are quite high but.....You get what you pay for, its not rammel x

When heard George's at mansfield open thought great,will be lovely,how wrong was i chips had got really old fried chips so crunchy and a few new cooked chips,threw away and just ate my peas and gravy.A few people waiting but thought at least they cook on arrival, how wrong I were .The staff didn't even look remotely interested in their work and the food they were cooking,Their are far better chip shops around

When it comes to George's Tradition fish and chips, I have to say it was a disappointing experience. The fish was incredibly greasy and lacked any flavor I dont think the bone in the fish helped. As for the chips, they were dry and tasted like they had been sitting out for far too long. What bothered me the most was that the chips seemed to be missing any actual potato inside them, and the staff paid no attention, not even a hello or asked if I needed a recept ect poor customer service. Overall, the quality of the food at George's Tradition fell well below my expectations.

Great food, unfortunately missed 2 of my items. Hence the 3 stars

This is the second time we have visited George’s and for the second time it was amazing! The meal was freshly prepared, not at all fatty and very good value for money, will definitely recommend!!!!

We have experienced many George's Tradition in Uk, unfortunately this one is the last we would like to revisit. The price is not reasonable as others, and chips are less except you pay extra 1.25 pounds for larger chips. Hope it will do as good as other George's. Oh yes, parking is available.

Appalling customer service. One server seemed to have a problem ( smirk/ attitude) when a special order was messed up. Had another delay waiting for the second attempt. After all that food was mediocre and expensive. First and last time.

Would have given 5 stars if not for a bone in my large cod order today. Otherwise, really good batter, really good fries (they are still good even when I leave them cold). Best fish and chip shop tastewise.

Appalling had a chip cob that was literally chucked in the bag with a few chips I had chips and fish cake .. fish cake was good the chips where like they had been cooked ages ago

Haddock amazing. Peas too much salt/bicarb for 1st time, have eaten there 6 times previous and they have been excellent.

Loved it batter on fish excellent food hot and tasty best yet by far highly recommend

Luke warm chips and staff more interested in chatting with each other than serving customers!! Wont waste time going again far better chippys in area not to mention cheaper.

Food was okish... not very hot... Thought the portion size small for the price.

Discovered this place by accident but glad we did. Being colieac has plenty of frustration when trying to find food that's safe to eat but George's provides for this (Sundays) great quality and value for money. Definitely be revisiting.

How Much!! £15 for chips , 2 sausage , fish cake and curry sauce which was £2.35 on its own.. Daylight Robbery . Won’t be robbed again

Been here a few times now and my main complaint is with the smelly cardboard boxes this chain of shops uses, I am quite shocked nobody has picked this up, as the heat from the fish and chips really makes it pong. I would also like to see a lot more hygiene and the staff wearing head coverings and clean white aprons. Nobody knows when hair will drop into the box. Generally the chips and fish are ok but very oily and something should be done to address this issue.

Went to eat fish and chips in my local area but told us to wait 3-4 minutes. Waited 15-25 minutes so food came extremely late and many other people who came in after us received there food before us. The Lady at the counter asked everyone for salt and vinegar but not us.

Just had fish and chips,,absolutely delicious,was piping hot,fish was lovely had one medium portion of chips ,,omg could had fed a family ,was all really nice,will definitely go back again

I ordered a chicken mayo burger I was disappointed because I thought it would have salad on the sandwich It only had a squirt of mayo on it Pretty expensive sandwich for what you received

New chip shop thought we would try it ,very nice ,plenty of food .will be back.

Very good food best fish I have tasted

Been a few times and the chips have been consistent. Cod, on some occasions was very nice and ok sized but it's been far too thin (especially for the price) and not the best piece. The chips have seemed a little 'limp' every time I've been and a little thin but but very consistent. It's like they've been cooked at too low a temp or not cooked for long enough... Maybe the potatoes used.... They were very consistent tho.... All in all, it opens on a Sunday and whilst I might avoid the cod, just in case, I know what the chips will be like, which is good for me.... Nothing worse than a chip shop that is cracking one day and dreadful the next.

We had a large cod, chips, pea fritter and mushy peas. Everything was piping hot, the batter was super crispy as were the chips. We really enjoyed it.

Chips were cold, fish was nice. Was only staying on the same complex at Travelodge - the chips should have been steaming still. Come on guys sort things out, wasn't even late.

Sutton in Ashfield, George's fish and chips shop. Ordered large fish and chips with mushy peas. On 23rd February. At 19.45pm. The chips were nearly cold and the fish looked like it had been cooked at dinner time. Wasnt even edible. Went straight into the bin. Tried there a week ago. Wasn't good then. Paid a lt of money just to put in the bin.

Fabulous fish and chips. Well worth the wait for you to come to Sutton.
