Called last Thurs for carvery great food great friendly service thanks Rita Claire n John you were all brilliant couldn't fault a thing keep it up.

Had a lovely beef carvery today with a friend. The food was great, the meat melted in the mouth and there was plenty of it.

Twice ive ordered through uber. 1st time half my items where missing and i received a partial refund. I decided to try again and yet again items missing. Couldn't get a refund through uber and the place itself told me the contract was with uber. First meal barely any beans only half the items in both breakfasts. Second meal no chips for two meals, missing items from my carvery and no drink i ordered. Absolutely shocking place. Foolishly i ordered again, 3rd time soggy due to packing of items.

Had carveries through to good to go app, what can I say .. food was very nice & plentiful, & the members of staff are nice, & always welcoming, as me & my family have been here a few times before, we Highly recommend this place 😀 👍

We went for food today as a group of 14 people (which included 3 babies who were not eating) The food was lovely when it arrived, but some meals including 2 children's meals took well over an hour to arrive. We went at a relatively quiet time too. Our waitress Mellissa was extremely apologetic and offered us all either a free desert or drink each. When it came to us ordering the complimentary desserts, the manager came to take our order and was nothing but rude and made us feel unwelcome by the poor customer service provided. It seemed to be an inconvenience that we had claimed the complimentary desserts offered to us. Again, Melissa was lovely and couldn't apologise enough, it's just a shame that our Easter family meal was tainted by the slow food and bad attitudes from management.

Staff friendly and helpful. Appreciated the courtesy call to advise that we might want to arrive a bit earlier than planned to make sure we didn't miss out as the carvery had been very busy earlier on and might be closing early. Some of the veg on the carvery was getting a bit past its best but it was the end of the day and there was plenty left. Overall it was fine and we had a perfectly acceptable meal. Always happy with Stonehouse for a good value carvery. Would be very happy to visit again.

I came with my family and the food by Colin, Olha and Rita was great.I had the meat feast calzone which was really nice. The front staff (Curtis and Mellissa) were really friendly and very chatty. We were made aware of what food was available and overall it was a lovely meal out. Would highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the pizza from The Hole in the Wall Team, and I must say, it was **fantastic**! This was **the best pizza I've had in a long time**. Very nice carvery, even late in the evening everything was available and tasted good. Staff were friendly and the beers were good too.

I’m coeliac and worry about eating out .but no here I felt the staff were very attentive and very knowledgeable of what I could & couldn’t have . What told about the risks, but definitely felt they went out off their way to make cross contamination practically non existent. Cook cooked some veg separately for me . And CLAIRE was the lady that made my day for me . Everything & more she she could have done she did .BIG WELL DONE TO CLAIRE .thank you we will definitely will be back .oh and Dog friendly on Thursday !

Carvery - Monday, arrived to eat at 6pm - very few people in the pub/ restaurant - literally only scraps of beef/ fat, a turkey carcass with one portion of turkey left on the bones and a decent half gammon joint! Chef said that's all they had left, great for business but bad for folk arriving after 6pm who didn't want gammon!

I have been a few times before with my partner and really enjoyed it. Sunday we had a booking for 3pm. We arrived on time, ordered drinks and 2 carvery meals. We put our drinks on the table and went to get our carveries, it took just over 30 minutes to get back to our table due to a queue. The queue was across the pub. The lady serving the meat was very slow and lacked any care for the customers. By time we got our food, I was past looking forward to my meal and didn’t end up eating much. Our drinks were basically flat by time we drank them. Such a shame.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a young female member of staff who asked me to sit anywhere, as they were not currently busy. Once my wife and daughter had arrived, after selecting our food and beverages, I proceeded to the bar with my young daughter. I was greeted by an individual who appeared to be the manager. He had an uncut, scruffy beard, greasy hair, and oversized Star Wars badges that did not align with the Stonehouse branding. This initial impression was quite negative. I subsequently placed an order for pizza, children’s fish goujons, and an adult vegetarian finger sandwich, followed by three drinks. After the drinks were prepared, I informed the manager that I had a couple of vouchers to redeem. He expressed surprise and looked at me in disbelief. I then presented him with a free adult meal voucher, which he initially denied, claiming that it was a buy one get one free offer. However, after I showed him the terms and conditions, which clearly stated that it was a voucher for a free adult birthday meal, he scanned it and was surprised to find that it worked. At this point, my wife inquired about my extended stay at the bar. During our conversation, the manager remained perplexed and stated that the till had removed the children’s meal from the menu because it was the most expensive item. This decision left me feeling frustrated. I informed him that we would only have the drinks and disregard the food. In terms of the overall ambiance of the pub, it was in a state of disrepair. The lighting was inadequate, and most of the tables were sticky and covered in dirt. The benches outside were covered in moss and had broken parts. In my opinion, the Stonehouse company would be better served by either closing this pub or undergoing a significant overhaul, including replacing this staff member. This establishment does not reflect the quality of other Stonehouse restaurants, such as Bartlewood Lodge, which is our preferred choice and where we will continue to dine.

We got there at 1,30 for Sunday carvery was told there was only pork and it was going to take 2hrs to cook the beef and turkey so we ended up getting burgers and pizza the burger were ok but the chips and tots were cold so we sent them back we also had loaded chips but they came out plain when the correct food finally came out it nothing special the kids pasta was bland and probably microwaved the kids pizza was also nothing special the burgers were ok the only good thing was the staff that understood everything we complained about and tried to resolve it as best as they could I wouldn't go back again

Food was awful. Only peas as a veg. Roasties so dry. Stuffing was burnt. The burger looked like it was out of a tin! Took it home a d even the dog wasnt keen. Such a shame because we've had ok food in the past.

I phoned for a late Sunday lunch booking and was greeted with helpfulness and positivity. The food was hot, plentiful and just what was needed. Sharon was really helpful to my elderly mum who thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We shall be back!

We have chain where we live & love it . We were passing through & visited here & it also was so good .Thank you to the wonderful grey haired lady who had the 'I Do ' attitude to everything she is a gem to The hole in the wall. I always say a smile costs nothing 😁

Love popping in here for a carvery. Recently attended with our children for a last minute tea had a lovely meal great atmosphere thanks to Mellisa and Claire for looking after us.

We went for a family meal. We waited quite a while but that didn't matter. Was wxpecting better but the side orders and chips were cold and the burgers were luke warm. Would have mentioned this if we had been asked if our meals were good but they didn't. Wasn't even acknowledged as we walked out.

We booked a Kid's Pizza Party at Hole In The Wall today, and it was brilliant! Everyone had such a good time, very good value for money - Elise was particularly helpful and nothing was too much - will definitely book again, thank you!

Food was average.. didnt feel very fresh, 3 out of 4 of the deserts we had asked for they didn't have. Service - always found quite slow in here, but staff seem friendly. Its clean, apart from the toilets.

I took a group of adults with learning disabilities here for a pub lunch, the staff were incredible with them all they were patient whilst they were ordering their food independently (especially Claire, John and Curtis)! Only disappointing thing is the southern fried chicken sandwich it was awfully sad :(. However they all had a great time!!

We visited for a Sunday carvery. I've never seen it so busy. On the positive side, the staff were friendly staff, food was good, and it was fair value for money. However, the queue time to be served and then to wait for the carvery made for an overall poor experience. It seemed the staff were doing their best but just not enough of them. The issue with the carvery queue was because the chefs kept leaving the station to fulfil the takeaway orders. We were waiting at least 20 minutes in this queue, by which time it had snaked down one wall and back up the other side. Lots of people were complaining about this. There was also an issue with us being forced to queue in front of the hotplate, where the takeaways were being left for collection and this also impeded staff who were trying their best to serve customers who had ordered from menu. Potential health and safety issues there, I feel. To me, the customers in the restaurant should be served as a priority with other staff allocated to the takeaway side to avoid this situation. Unfortunately, this experience has put us off from visiting again, at least for the carvery.

The place has gone down hill since we last visited over 10 years ago. Food was ok. But service very slow. The staff were just doing a job. Nothing impressive. Wont be going again & will not be recommending. Its a shame

Ordered a takeaway for collection. We picked our own veg, staff were lovely, food was fresh and hot, we asked for extra gravy and roast potatoes and this was happily given! John was really friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble! Highly recommend!

The last few times we have been here, have not been great, twice we have been told they are not serving off the menu and there is only carvery available, even though there were people eating pizza on nearby tables. Just before Christmas we waited over an hour for pizza in an empty pub and when it turned up it was burnt. They do not serve food after 8pm, this may be just the few times we have tried to go just before 8pm. It’s a shame because it used to be nice here, it was a great place to bring the kids when they were younger, it’s local and the staff are lovely.

Paid just under £20 for x2 breakfast and x2 coffee The very nice lady showed us the way very politely. The coffee machine was off ! She politely got us a filter coffee from behind the bar which was lukewarm. We helped ourselves to breakfast. The black pudding was just warm Bacon well cooked and tasty. Eggs had been there for a while which were hard yolks and was supposed to be fried. Mushrooms were awful! Not a great experience and wouldn’t recommend I’m afraid! Cutlery on the table were marked and didn’t look the cleanest. Sorry but this place certainly needs improvement. Wouldn’t bother again 😕 Shame really it used to be a good pub but it looks very tired and unkempt.

Ordered online to collect in person a large carvery. When i got home all i had been given was large scoop of uncooked stuffing,scoop of cauliflower few peas and a tiny piece of turkey and beef,2 roast potatoes and a yorkshire pudding.so no mash,no sausage( which you get with a large) I paid for a large carvery and got a childs portion with stuff missing......complete piss take! Staff are rude and dismisive,no atmosphere!

Much tidier and cleaner than the last time I visited. Just settled for turkey ax the beef wasn't to my liking. Roast potatoes were delicious. Very good value as we had a voucher to use. Had a lovely table in the original part of the pub.

Came for the Carvery, good selection. Service is always great everytime I go. All Staff are very friendly and can always have a laugh with them but are also very understaffed when busy and definitely not looked after by the company, this is why complaints are made and poor reviews are given.

First visit at this Stonehouse restaurant and won’t be the last. Great welcome by a waitress (Sharon), and the friendliness was equalled by the waitress who showed us to our table and the gentleman who was carving the joints. A great experience.

I booked a table here, they gave me a courtesy call before we arrived to say they was running out of meat on the carvery so we arrived before our booked time. Unfortunately when we arrived they had ran out of meat but we were offered chicken breasts on our carvery instead the customer service is outstanding and would definitely recommend the food was amazing thank you so much for the lovley food and an amazing night with family.

Collected an evening carvery to take home and the staff were really friendly, especially the chef who served me. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Really appreciated the extra that I was given rather than seeing it go to waste. After this great experience I visited with my family for a buffet breakfast on New Year’s Day which was an equally great experience.

I ordered a salad with chicken. £10.99. After waiting 15 mins my salad arrived in a bowl. Consisting of 2 small tomatoes 3 pieces of cucumber, red onion and red pepper. A small amount of chicken. A large amount of Lettuce brown at the edges. I was very disappointed with this offering for the price. I will come back but definitely not order the salad.

Had a lovely dairy free meal, thanks to Julie for preparing it for me due to allergies. She was very helpful and went out of her way to help me with my dietary requirements. The fresh veg and roast potatoes were lovely and hot and served to my table with a smile. Thank you Julie.

Order anything other than a carvery and be prepared for a long wait. 40 minutes for a pizza, over 30 minutes for an ice cream Sunday. Honestly I don't know what they are playing at, they weren't even that busy. We were in the pub over 2 hours and still hadn't got desert..we got a refund in the end and left.

Great stress free experience for Christmas day lunch! We arrived early however our table was ready which was perfect. No stress, great organisation from the team. Food lovely as usual! Lovely table set up including Xmas card, placename and props for pictures along with crackers to pull. Easy to book and pre order online. Thanks again

Used to go many moons ago, so thought to give it a whirl again and wasn't disappointed. Friendly smiling staff as you walk in. Was walked to our table, unbooked and for 7. Ordered at the bar, and 15 minutes later food was on the table and piping hot. We will be back. Thank you.

We came Christmas Day for our Christmas dinner and WOWWW!! From the moment we walked in you could feel the welcome & Christmas atmosphere, nothing was 2 much trouble and the attention to detail and organisation was exceptional from start to finish. The food was faultless & we literally couldn’t of asked for a more perfect Christmas Day! We can’t wait to book for nxt Christmas!!! Well done to all the team 🎉🎅🏼🎄

FOOD-Decent Sunday Carvery, plenty of selection and nice flavour . SERVICE-Some of the most Happiest, friendly staff that make you feel looked after n welcome. Very refreshing . ATMOSPHERE- Fairly busy, lots of family's, lots of loud kids. Plenty of seating, nice n warm atmosphere
