Service was quick and the staff were friendly and the meat was nice. The vegetables didn’t seem as good as when we have visited at the weekend. Looks like veg had been reused and using cheaper vegetables and less choice, It was a quiet time of the day and the view of the pond and countryside was very relaxing,

Food was delicious. I went for the carvery which was plentiful and hot. Staff were welcoming.

Been several times and the meat portion is usually good but not this time. Ordered a starter to come out with mains never came we did get a complimentary drink though. It just wasn't a friendly atmosphere this time.

Served by Claire. Excellent customer service. Cheerful and happy although, she always seems to be on her own having to be rushed on her feet. Credit to her & the team! Shout out to jjulie too and back of house team

Had a delicious meal. Thanks to Claire who was serving us and was really helpful with getting me gluten free gravy. And the chef John. The meat was delicious and hot. Can't beat a carvery! Delicious and fresh food and plenty available.

Me and my partner went here this morning, it were our first time out for a breakfast without our little one, so our intentions were to fully enjoy it. We got our food, went to use the salt and there was an ant in the salt. As we were eating my partner then pointed to one near my plate which I squished on the napkin, as you can see from the photograph. I then got up to go and get a refill on my cup of tea, as I did this I went by the bar to see ants all over the bar top. However, because of this I then proceeded to look in other places to find that the walls and ceilings look awful too. Overall, we were disappointed with our morning breakfast.

The £5 pizza offer. Was brilliant. Really enjoyed it .the pizza was delicious and brought over with smiles from the cooks. All four of us enjoyed them. And only down side was unfortunately we waited over 10 minutes to be serves in a long queue with only one staff member on the till. And he was busy.

The only decent thing about our experience with this place was the carvery was ok. When ordering food we were told the burgers and pizza was going to be 35-40 minutes wait. So we ordered a starter. 40 minutes later I had to ask for the starter it had been sat on the food counter so I had to carry it over because there was no sauce ready with it. The starter was cold.... when we speak to the staff member she did get us some fresh starter, but it came with the mains. 1 hour later our food came then we're told the chicken bacon salad was going to be another 2 minutes, that 2 minutes took 10 minutes how can a salad with 2 hot ingredients take longer that 5 other hot meals. It was as if the because we weren't regulars at this restaurant we weren't wanted. Not somewhere we'll be going back.

Went for the first time about 9am and everything was really fresh, ordered mushrooms extra that came out very quickly. Could not fault it and Sharon who served us was very nice and helpful

We went for breakfast with santa on saturday morning. The lady on duty was so helpful and seemed very proud of her workplace which was lovely. Santa was a little on the young side but made the experience memorable with our son having a little boogie with him! The meal itself was standard breakfast buffet. But the service made it. I was shown pizza party set ups,recommended for my partners 8 year old. The lovely lady mentioned her granddaughter was cooking breakfast for reference as to which member of staff I mean ☺️ a credit to the team!

First let me say the food was nice and fresh. The word "THE' Should be replaced with the word "SCRUFFY" "SCRUFFY HOLE IN THE WALL" We didn't stop long as the tables needed cleaning and clearing. I would love to hear what the owner has to say. I will refrain from posting photos

I tend to make these kinds of visits solo and this is one of the few places where I feel totally at ease. The staff are wonderful, especially Sharon, who is lovely and friendly and works her socks off! The food is great and good value for money. I would definitely recommend and I'll be visiting again very soon.

We visit every Friday. Food is always great and service is top notch. We always turn up with about 8 of us and they have no problems accommodating is each and every week. We always look forward to our visit

Came in today for lunch on Friday really enjoyed the fresh selection of food and although very busy our food arrived quickly and hot.

Lovely staff and amazing carvery turned up at 6:30 on a Saturday. Lovely building and nicely spaced out seating not to cramped. Would come back again without a second thought.

All the food was cooked well in a timely manner, Claire is always polite and makes you feel welcome

One star is generous, absolutely dreadful service, food sat out for 20 mins, Stone cold by time it arrived, staff unhelpful and not interested in being helpful at all, poor and to think these people get paid it's beyond a joke.

Lovely carvery and even better freshly made pizza! There was an item unavailable on our order, the lovely Charlie M came from the kitchen, explained the issue and quickly sorted us an alternative. He made some brilliant pizzas which made the kids very happy! Fast service, great food and lovely staff. we will be back :)

waited 2 hours for 2 pizzas, absolutely ridiculous! and they didn't have the guts to tell us the truth when they had clearly forgotten our order, they said 10 more minutes and then 40 minutes later we got our food. the service was diabolical, we were literally ignored by the staff members who walked around us like we were invisible. shocking and I won't go back! it was a mid-week evening, and even if youre super busy (which they dodnt appear to be) that's no excuse for terrible service.

Dinner seems to get better and better here. First class carvery and they don’t adopt this stupid new practice of making you wait at the door for a table

I had a takeaway roast dinner back in about June/July time last year and was pleasantly surprised, unfortunately either they were having an "off day" yesterday, or it has gone extremely downhill. My intention was to add the optional 5 pigs in blankets to the standard roast, but after a deal with Uber it worked out the same price to get the large roast instead, which boasts 5 pigs in blankets, an extra yorkshire, and extra meat. I did think it strange that I could order up to 4 different meats with the standard roast, but the option for pork was not available for the larger roast dinner. Anyhow, due to the value I ordered the large roast. I received 3 burnt pigs in blankets and a standard size sausage which could be likened in taste and texture to cardboard. I had two very small slices of gammon, one slice which was half fat and half meat (pic below is after removing fat), and one very thin slice of beef - so much for the extra meat... The yorkshires were stale, and the potatoes although tasted alright, were very, very dark on the outside and the skin was bitter. The gravy wasn't enough for a kid's meal, never mind a large roast. The mash was enjoyable. Says it all really that this is the only positive. When I had a takeaway roast last year from the same place it arrived in a tray with sections for veg, meat etc, and it came with a decent helping of gravy. Despite ordering a larger roast than the one I ordered previously, it arrived crammed into a smallish bowl with a small tub of gravy. It was also cold and took over an hour to arrive after ordering, making me wonder whether it had just been sat there awaiting collection for ages. I was extremely disappointed.

Ordered a delivery carvery today and I have to say it was terrible there was ONE piece of tough fatty beef on one and ONE Piece of turkey on the other, there were 6 black roast potatoes and the worst selection of undercooked vegetables I have ever seen, I have never had such a bad Sunday lunch in my life and I will definitely not be buying anything else from this place ever again it was terrible

Think it's called atmosphere but very dull even to read menu. Carvery very standard not much veg choice ok if you like potatoes as 3 tubs. The staff are very welcoming , very polite and friendly chef on the Carvery.

Had a carvery delivered on Sunday and it was absolutely awful it was cold the meat was all fatty ! Tried to contact them they have not replied to my message so here I am doing this review I will not be ordering again !!!

The carvery was lovely and the pudding was awful first of all a child’s pudding came out when we ordered normal puddings once that was sorted the browine was awful I couldn’t even cut it with a knife. And then you had 4 staff on the tables where dirty and not set up. There was dirty glasses all over the bar. And was us and 3 other family’s in. This in in general is dirty I had to clean the table before me and my children sat down and get my own cutlery out the cupboard as the doors and draws was open then where the clean cutlery was had all food crumbs in. I use to like this pub it’s gone down hill a lot. Would have said food was spot on until we received pudding wrong and then the brownie wasn’t edible. And no staff to be seen to send back so left. Won’t return in rush.

Food was delicious. The only thing I can suggest is to make pork or even lamb available all week.

Needed bigger table as the was 5 of us but put on a table that seats 4 also I rang the day before to let them no about a leg injury that I had and was told there was loads of room at the table but there was not witch made it alot more difficult for me to move

Was very disappointed. Booked to breakfast with Santa to be told that Santa wasn’t there so replaced by mrs clause. Also the service was absolutely awful. A full pub of people with 3 members of staff. Food was being cooked by 1 person who was absolutely run off his feet and had to wait over half an hr in the que while food was being cooked as even before we got to the front they ran out. Think the chef needs a very big bonus not the measly minimum wage he is on. There was food not being able to be cook as the que was that long people were complaining. No bread or butter for the toast either. For the price we paid for 6 of us it’s really disgusting

I came here several months ago for a meal with my family and have to say the it was ok at best. We visited again last week and found the service, food quality and general ambience so much more welcoming, warm and friendly. One of the managers was particularly helpful and very jovial, apologies if I get his name wrong but think it was John ? Nothing was too much for him, we are very fussy eaters with tuff dietary requirements but he was amazing. We will be going again soon.

Went for a carvery as part of a celebration with friends. We all enjoyed the meal and John was very helpful on allergy requirements. Looking forward to the next one.

Absolutely lovely food. The service is spot on and great little pub.

Very kind polite staff. I've been on a Monday and been on a Wednesday for a carvery but Wednesday carvery seemed to be alot better more choice in carvery, the turkey wasn't as dry and the gammon tasted loads better and we was served by the chef with a smile which goes along way.

Had a great takeaway breakfast from here on Friday. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Tasty foo too with the bacon cooked to perfection.

Staff were friendly and helpful. There were no draft lagers or ciders on the day we visited which made drinks very expensive.

Went as part of a big party (23). Food was pre ordered, carvery was lovely, very tasty and puddings were huge. Will definitely go again.

Random visit didn’t actually start eating until 9 (our choice) so much carvery left over we had as much as we wanted with staff encouraging the whole way the lovely man behind the counter called John was amazing and even let me fill a tub up for my dog to bring home as well as one for me will deffo return , everyone was lovely 😁😁

We had the festive meal it was very good

Good quality food but service spoiled that. It was busy when we arrived so expected delays initially but when it came to ordering most had left leaving very few orders to deal with. Even worse when desserts were ordered to take 50 minutes after having to remind twice that we were still waiting.

Food was brilliant, when it turned up. Staff didn’t seem to care much. We were told 45 mins wait on food. It then took an hour and 10 minutes just to get some pizzas and 30 minutes for some deserts. The staff also completely forgot to bring the tickets for the carvery until we went and asked after an hour. Toilets were the dingiest public toilets I’ve ever seen and the ceiling was absolutely covered in mould. After waiting for food for a total of 2 hours there were no apologies from staff at all.
