Jenny's Cafe and Restaurant in Lincoln

We called here by chance as several other places closed on a Monday. We received a warm welcome and our order was soon taken, 2 cups of tea, 1 bacon panini, and 1 cheese and pepperoni paninni. The brews were very hot and best I've had for a long time. Both paninnis were piping hot along with the chips that my daughter had with hers. Great friendly service and the bill came to £18 which we thought was great value for a city centre.

Cold poached eggs on cheap toasted bread. Only people in there. Didn’t return as found somewhere much nicer

My wife and I stopped off here for a hot drink and a bite to eat after driving up from Leicester and it wasn’t too bad an experience. The staff were friendly and efficient, the café was clean and the price of food and drink wasn’t all that bad. We had tea, which was good quality, and bacon rolls, which were tasty with a lot of bacon on them, and I mean a lot. Just a good place to stop off for a sit down and refresh after the particularly long drive from our hometown.

Stopped here for breakfast - and wished we hadn't. I chose their Olympic breakfast which comes with baked beans and tomato - I don't like either and asked them to leave these off which they did but didn't offer anything else instead. When I started eating the sausages I wished I'd chosen something else - in my opinion they were the worst tasting sausages I've ever had and the texture was awful. In all honesty I couldn't recommend this place at all.

Probably the worst breakfast ever wouldn’t even give my dog this breakfast..!! And they went next door for a strawberry milkshake that I ordered..!!!!

A very friendly establishment, we were greeted and seated on entry. Our order was taken when we were completely prepared. The food was correct in all respects, hot and flavourful. Relaxing after the meal we were engaged in chats with the staff and other customers which made it the most interesting visit to a cafe I've had in a long time. It felt more like a holiday lunch somewhere sunny instead of a grey rainy Lincoln! Thank you Jenny's, I'll be back!

Was nice to be welcomed to Jenny's back Athem (David) yesterday. My husband has used the restaurant over the last 20 years, as a couple we have also us ed it regularly. It was a while since we had used it, and decided to go for lunch before we went to watch Buddy at the theatre. He greets you like a long lost friend. The food is amazing value for money with all dishes understand £10 for example, a chilli in jacket potato, minced beef and onion pie with peas, chips and gravy and homemade lasagne. As we we're leaving us wife who had just arrived, offered us pieces of Turkish backlava, when said we could n't eat it now, they dutifully wrapped it and we had it later for our tea. They go the extra mile with their customer service

Popped in for a small bite to eat and found the staff very pleasant, I ordered a jacket potato with tuna which was delicious, came with a side salad which was very fresh and had a delicious hot chocolate for a drink, my other half had a chicken wrap which was huge, very tasty and came with chips and salad, he had a can of coke, good value for money and will return again

Ordered 4 coffees waited over 20 mins service really slow but when it arrived us was really good x x

We visited Lincoln for the day and we wanted something quick to eat, to keep us going , until going back home for dinner . We all had either the chicken or southern chicken wrap. It was tasty and what you expect from a chicken wrap in a cafe like this one. My order came with more chips/fries but no salad and my partners (ordered the same) had bit of salad but less chips/fries 🤔 prices were good. Staff were friendly . I saw a very nice double burger, been served to the table next to us , and looked very good. Maybe I’ll have that next time? If we go back. The tables were clean. The only thing I didn’t like , on my way to the loo, was the fact I saw washing bowl filled with used dishes , and that put me off , as it can attract flies. It needed covering up with a cloth or to be taken for washing immediately, rather been there were customer can see it. I would score the cafe between 3.5-4 maybe?

Food was awful all the food tested strange the waitress seem very uninterested when you spend 85 between you all you expect a nice breakfast or even a half decent one definitely not recommended

Worst pie in my life.i had chicken and chips .the pie was sloppy, not cooked, had been in mircowave and was uneatable.i left pie , was asked by young lady why. i told her it was not cooked, and was the worst pie ever. a man who worked in shop. was told they were not interested.no offer of any money off, we never go back.

Food plentiful. Not the best quality but you get what you pay for (though don’t order ham, egg and chips. Fried, supermarket wafer thin ham. Gross). Breakfasts are the best thing here). But don’t expect friendly service. Unless you are one of their friends/same nationality you’ll be barely acknowledged.

The food was very good and so was the service. The young lady who served us was really, really beautiful! I think our eyes met a few times but unfortunately I missed out on talking to you.. Jenny's Cafe is where you want to stop for a very good meal. It's where the locals have breakfast and lunch. We've had lunch here and the soup is delicious. The menu offers so many choices. Service is friendly and efficient. This is just a great little spot for very good food!

Bought my 3 year old granddaughter a piece of cake it was £4.50 a slice. Beans on toast £4.00. Too expensive we felt.

Young lady that served us was very surly. Never broke a smile. We were an inconvenience to her. Other customers agreed. Needs to be said. Service appalling

We head to Jenny's every Saturday and we always have a delicious breakfast. Staff are always lovely and friendly...

I received a friendly welcome and my order was promptly taken. I chose a roast chicken dinner for £7.50. I didn't have to wait very long before my roast dinner was in front of me. A very nice plate of food and very tasty, nothing was left of the generous portion. My only complaint would be the floor was dirty and in need of a sweep. I would definitely return if I'm in the City again.

We tried this place by chance on Jubilee weekend when we woke up late and reached high street past noon. This was only place serving English breakfast that time so we entered. The staff here are very commendable as they were attentive throughout the service....

simple cafe by the road in cental Worksop. Large menu apperas to be available all day. small step at entrace, clean toilets.

We visited the restaurant and they accommodated 9 of us with out a booking. Service was excellent, good choice of food all served hot and fresh. Great prices and Milkshakes we’re fab. Definitely worth a visit.

The very worst meal EVER. Greasy, overcooked, sat on a road with stinking cars passing. Felt closed in by the number of advertisement signs all over-tends to be a bad sign!

Cafe centrally situated in Lincoln with an adjacent ice cream parlour with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is reasonably priced. The menu is mainly traditional English dishes such as Sheperd's pie, chop, steak and kidney pies etc....

Their pricing on a large board outside gets explained at payment time as "take-away only" whereas there is no mention of this. They appear to deliberately try to mislead on their pricing structure. The quality of the both the bacon and the roll was appalling...

Excellent friendly service , lovely Roast chicken dinner with a hint of spice lovely refreshing not stodgy yet a propper dinner and plenty meat infact i struggled to eat it all , will deffinitely go again

Jennys kitchen is a little gem in tbe centre of lincoln. Fantastic selection of food and drinks, prices exceptionally good.food well cooked and very tasty..all served by very pleasant staff. Recommend a visit, we will return..!

We called here for a snack on a sunny morning and enjoyed teacakes and tea. A friendly little cafe, well run with a good menu and reasonable prices. With a small seating area outside we enjoyed watching the world go bye. Well worth a visit , and a welcome change from faceless chain coffee cafes with their standardised everything and faceless anoniminity. On seeing the huge ice creams after walking around the town we returned late afternoon for - yes you guessed it ice creamLooking forward to returning for a lunchtime or breakfast meal soon.

When we go into town we all ways go the Jenny`s even if its only for tea/coffee, Always happy to see you and always have a natter to you so very friendly can not recommend it highly enough, the best in Lincoln

It always seems to have people in it so we thought we would try it. They have a good range of food for lunches/snacks. We ordered a jacket potato with prawns (this was a large plateful) and a tuna roll (again large roll). This and two drinks was just over £13 in total.

Such a contrast to the previous cafe we tried in Lincoln,we were met with smiles and a welcome. The menu gave extensive choice at very reasonable price and the order was soon dispatched piping hot and very tasty. Cheese and ham omelette for me, jacket potato with lashings of tuna for my daughter and a well filled cheese sandwich made with real cheese for the child. And a surprise gift of a lollipop for the little boy eating all his food.We will definatly be back.

Me and my family came her for a breakfast and we really enjoyed the food. It came fast, at a good quality for a reasonable price. The service was good with a very friendly waitress and the chef came over to clear our plates.

In the past I believed a traditional Blighty Breakfast was something that was difficult to get wrong, Jenny's managed this spectacularly however.

Called in for a quick lunch. We were so pleasantly surprised. Quick service, excellent Bacon baguettes it’s a cup of tea. Faultless!

Lovely cheap quick bite.large range to choose from.not master chef but what do you expect from inexpensive food.ideeally placed .toilets not easy to get to if you struggle with stairs.I like the place would go again.

Possibly the worst ham salad sandwich I've ever eaten. Cheap white sliced bread, see through ham & a few bits of tomato, cucumber & lettuce.

Hubby was pleased with his all day breakfast, coffees were lovely. I ordered a prawn jacket potato. Prawns had no sauce. Dehydrated and dry. Uneatable. Have to say on the positive the serving staff were lovely. But disgusting prawns that looked like they’d been left out too long.

Pop in here when in town and the food is always consistently good, had a bacon roll and a sandwich baguette, hot chocolate and latte always nice , defiantly recommend

The sandwiches were a disgrace Stale bread - the Tuna was dry and as for the so called prawns they were inedible

Not the most quaint of buildings, do not let that put you off. Nice staff, actually polite and make sure all good. Food portions would make any one on a diet run a mile. The liver roll a dream to eat.

I eat here whenever I'm in Lincoln. Good prices and outstanding customer service.I've only ever had the early starter breakfast but I highly recommend it.they do loads of other meals which allways looks and smells great.goog location for town centre shopping

We dropped in here for a drink and snack. The menu choices are vast, indeed it is amazing that they offer such a wide choice from such an apparently small kitchen. There was a quick turnaround of customers as the food was steady. It was cheap and cheerful and just what we needed for a quick bite to eat. The staff were friendly even though they were clearly very busy.

We were passing by one morning and decided it looked a nice enough place for breakfast, we should have continued walking by.

I have never written a bad review but here goes. Ex-military, so well versed in eating in bad places over many years but couldn't eat the breakfast. Cheap frozen sausages deep fried, two over-cooked fried eggs, a pile of fried mushrooms swimming in fat, a fried tomato ditto and don't start me on the bacon. Wife felt ill after a mouthful of her bacon butty (oozing in fat). Tea came with milk already in it and the teabag still in. So milky she couldn't drink it. Sorry, just couldn't recommend this place to anyone.

the cafe was busy, decided to try for the first time. went with friends to have a snack, we had the toasted tea cake and sadly felt very ill afterwards, they were whole meal, not had that kind before.

This is an amazingly good value decent food place bang in the city centre of Lincoln. I am diabetic and instead of chips and burgers with everything (you can get those if you want them) I was able to have a roast dinner with vegetables . I was also able to have soya milk with my coffee. Only go there about three times a year but the friendly and efficient staff recognised us and greeted us like old friends

Service is very quick here so popped in for a spot of lunch,had sausage,chips& beans and my hubby had a baguette with bacon,cheese & tomato,both were very nice and filling,defiantly recommend here if you want a quick lunch.

We came for a family breakfast over the school hols. Huge menu and massive portions. Be aware that a lot of things come with chips, even if it isn't mentioned on the menu. I ordered a spanish omelette, and it came with chips, a small portion of peas and a small portion of salad (for £5.60). Must admit I wasn't expecting to eat chips for breakfast but actually they are lovely crunchy chips!

Its cheap and cheerful, food isn't to bad, staff are friendly enough but their English isn't that good. Been a couple of times but wouldn't rush back.

Unfriendly, old man came in and asked for steak or chicken, but they said they can only do sausage and mash. The owner said 'sausages' or go somewhere else. Very abruptly. Never again. Ordered a tuna & MAYO baguette, but guess what no mayo just some next dry tuna. However it was only £25 for 5 people. It's up to you really.

After walking around Lincoln last yesterday 29th July having tried one pub which had stopped serving food at 2pm on a Summer Saturday (clever), and visiting another where the noise was intolerable we came across Jenny's Cafe and Restaurant. Our food was well cooked, served with a smile and the portions large. We had no complaints.

Stopped off here a couple of times. The staff were friendly and the service swift. Food range is great but done well. Inexpensive and pleasant on street seating.

We visited twice to have tea. We included some delicious carrot cake. The staff were excellent and friendly. On the second visit, one of the staff remembered us from the day before and recalled exactly what we had ordered. The tea and cake were great.The tea rooms also have other items for sale.

My partner and I ate here on Saturday 3/6. I had lasagne. When it came there was like water all over the plate and no béchamel sauce on it at all!! I asked for it to be taken back and for another portion, but I think they had just replated the one I had and added some chips to the plate!! It didn't look very appetising! My partner had jacket potato and that wasn't very nice either.When I got home I was not too well and put it down to the lasagne!!!We have had not too good meals here before and said then we wouldn't go back, but this time we wont!!!

Have been before so when we returned to Lincoln visited again . In four days ate here three times good hot food not all chips actually got vegetables! Great value recommend it

If I'm in in Lincoln(usually a few times a month) this is where I go for a good breakfast.low prices,friendly staff,job done.

Early start in Lincoln for work required some breakfast..about the only place open. Pleasant waitress but food of the cheap and nasty variety favoured by these type of cafes and poor coffee. Also a collection of foul mouthed rough looking alcoholic types congregated on the seats outside just drinking cans of lager and not ordering anything from the cafe. No one moved them on. Bit intimidating when leaving. Wouldn't go again, I don't know the area but this part of town looked pretty grim and I would guess there must be better places in Lincoln.

Was in Lincoln shopping from skegness..Came across this little local cafe by the guildhall by accident..Glad I did..It's not trendy modern expensive.its a place where the locals go..I had one of the specials cottage pie it was delicious plenty of it and at 5.95 good value...There was plenty of choice and the service quick and pleasant..So when in Lincoln give the over priced trendy cafes a miss and give this gem a try

Nothing to add since last visit - still good friendly service with freshly prepared food. It is a bit "greasy spoon" but value for money if you stick to the breakfast menu. Coffee is fab.

Popped into this place as I fancied burger and chips, prices seemed decent so in i went.First impressions from seaside cafe decor were interesting, menu combined traditional breakfasts and chips and pancakes with good range.Quick service from the waitress and ny food was brought promptly.The burger was average, super greasy and the bacon wasn't as crispy as I'd have liked and pretty fatty too chips were massively inconsistent, some absorbed the salt well some it bounced off.Flavour wasn't really there. I reckon i was overcharged too as the menu stated burger and chips as £4.50 and can of (warm) coke £1.10 and I paid £6?Distinctly average if I was to be honest.

The staff pretty much ignored me, even the waitress who slammed down the knife and fork. She put them on the far side of the table from where I was sitting. No welcome, no smile. Never spoke to me once.I would like to say the food was mediocore, but it wasn't that good really. Best advice: avoid this one

prices are very good and there is a wide range of hot food to choose from as well as drinks. I recommend their paninis and their iced coffee

We choose this cafe for breakfast & we were not disappointed really nice food good service & pleasant service. The extensive menu is amazing there is an expansive range of food on offer . The cafe is small but it is well organised they clear the tables quickly & attentive I spilled some tea on the table & the waitress came to clean it off. Considering they were fairly busy this was amazing ! Prices of food was good would visit again.

Visited today with my wife. Mobility scooter had to stay outside. Very tiny loos. However the food was in large quantities and tasty. The place was clean and tidy with a member of staff cleaning immediatly a table was vacated. Yes, I would visit again next time I'm in Lincoln.

I don't take writing a bad review lightly but sometimes things have to be said. We visited the cafe during the extremely busy Lincoln Christmas Market period. All we asked for were two tuna mayo baguettes and a pot of tea for two people, sounds simple enough. The serving staff were nice and as efficient as they could be and our hot drinks arrived promptly. But our tuna mayo baguettes were awful. The bread had a very greasy taste, as though it had been stored next to where fried breakfasts were being prepared. There was little tuna in the baguettes and just a smattering of mayo. I couldn't eat mine. The only thing palatable on the plate was some coleslaw. Whether the cooking staff were under too much stress at this busy time, I don't know, but the experience put us off returning ever again if we visit Lincoln. Others were leaving their meals too.

Had lunch here, and the food was excellent. The portions were enormous. Nice chips, and not greasy. Friendly efficient staff. If you just want lunch this is the place to go. The toilets were a little small though.

Very wide selection and generous portions. Just down the road from the Premier Inn where we were staying. I've been there twice now for breakfast and will definitely keep going back. Excellent espresso! Give it a try.

Clean & well presented cafe & restaurant. Smiles & good manners from all the staff. We had jacket potatoes at dinner time. Good portions & we were served within 10 mins. Can recommend & will return again. Thank you.

called on wednesday lunch time for a drink and teacake plus scone. the tea arrived with the tea bag floating in hot water plus milk. we waited and waited for the food, (we noted that a member of staff rushed out and returned with a bag in his hand(. the tea cake appeared together with a cheese scone plus jam. i rejected the cheese scone and was then told that they had run out of scones.)

This was the second time we've been here, first time was a few months ago and we were really impressed with the breakfast, hence our return. BUT very disappointed this time, we got breakfast baps and cups of tea. Sausages were disgusting and would have been lucky if they contained 10% pork (cheap and full of rusk), cheap white bread rolls and tea tasted funny and had white specks floating in!

Came across Jennys when I had my 3 children in Lincoln and did not want to pay through tbreakhe nose for lunch. There is some outdoor as well as indoor seating. The menu is varied, jacket potato, wraps, pannins, and breakfasts etc. Varied menu. The food is okay and is reasonably priced. Restaurant is fairly clean. Good for a cheap eat in town
