Run down. Glasses filthy. Not following guidelines, have to fetch your drink from the bar, mr no personality who works behind the bar not wearing a mask. Was going to eat but don't think i will bother

We have been here twice last week and going back this week everything was great nice food Good drink choice great staff every we’re is nice and clean

Arriving at The Dukeries, there is ample free car parking. From the outside it appears reasonably well maintained but inside it is tired and shabby, over due a refurbishment, with torn seating and peeling paint in the bars.Whilst it was busy, attracting families, dog friendly and parties going on and quick, friendly service, there wasn’t a ‘Quiet’ space to sit without noise.Staff are friendly, although eating food behind the bar was not something I’d expect or the sight of staff seemingly leaning up against bar furniture, when the place could do with a good clean.

We held my mums wake at the Dukeries. Have to say that John and the staff were great. Plenty of food in the well priced buffet. Everything ran very smoothly. Only problem was lack of cups and hot water for tea and coffee but was rectified quickly.Thanks for making a difficult day easier.

We found the food here amazing...my partner and i both had a mixed grill and it was cooked to perfection...all the meat was lovely...the welcome was pleasant...yes i would agree the decor needs updating...but you can forgive small things surely when the welcome, the service and the food are all lovely....we thoroughly enjoyed our meal....

Been here a few times, mainly for lunch. Menu is basic and unimaginative, specials limited, place is tired and needs modernising.. service varies / inconsistent Food quality is basic but generally freshly cooked / heated and served hot..

This is the 2nd time I've been in a matter of months and held off writing a review after the first time hoping it was a one off.We had our works Christmas lunch here and while it is a cheap meal it was not good.To be fair to them all the starters were nice and the pie that I had was flipping lovely and would recommend it. The cranberry sauce on the pate should be put on the side and not all over it as my colleague; some people don't like the sauce so they couldn't eat the starter.All bar one Yorkshire pudding was burnt as were all the pigs in blankets. I heavily questions the chef's abilities if they have looked at that food and thought it was acceptable to send it. The Yorkshires were replaced but had a very odd taste to them - almost chemically and it would be my guess that the pans aren't very clean that they are made in. The mash potato was cold and the cauliflower was pureed which made a for an odd tasting baby-food type accompaniment. The service was much better this time than the last time we went and I feel sorry for them having to listen to all the complaints I'm also less than happy that there was a Chihuahua wandering around the place that started chewing my clothing;. If you're going to be dog friendly then keep the bloody thing on a lead.

Firstly the website boasts Sky Sports and the sign outside confirms this. However, they no longer have Sky Sports so surely their signage should be amended.(Trade descriptions?)Went for Sunday lunch.The traditional Sunday roast choices were only turkey or half a chicken. Why no beef, pork or lamb? Pie not available, etc., etc.We were a large party but the meals came out very sporadically so there was no chance of eating together. Some people had finished eating before the last meals arrived. I had the half roast chicken with cremated Yorkshire puddings. All very ordinary with watery gravy.Also, plates were being cleared away while some of our party were still eating.Not good.The decor was very tired and the chairs were stained and dirty.Personally I would avoid the place and try elsewhere.

Great service, good welcome and nice environment. Good choice of food to suit all needs. Steaks well cooked.

I was a little apprehensive about stopping but we were Hungry. It goes to show appearances are deceiving because the Fish was superb I'll be back.

the hygiene was awful, it was just dirty everywhere, made me feel very grossed out even before i got my food, my food wasn’t great, the chicken tasted weird and i couldn’t bring myself to finish the whole meal

Room was clean if a little dated.The food in the bar was great value and well prepared. The staff were helpful and sorted the allergy lists very quickly.Only minor niggle, the plumbing for the surrounding rooms appears to run through our room so it can get a little noisy if the other occupants get a shower early on.Other than that a great little hotel.Will be back.

Activities done we were looking for a late lunch. The Dukeries offered welcoming smiling fast service and amazing food: succulent ribs, well balanced tikka, and a lovely veggie soup of the day. Unmissable, thank you for a fab experience.

Would like to say a big thank you for the catering provided after my mother's funeral on the 26h July.

Been here a few time reasonable prices but this visit was the best of them all staff wasnt to bothered witch is a down fall we had no cheak back at all and thats disapointing as there food was beautfuly cooked couldnt fault the steak amd ale pie the beef just melted in you mouth. The one thing that let this place down was the fact you could tell staff really didnt care. Manager sat on his phone and was waiting at the bar for him to get out his chair the look on the managers face when my partner asked for his mix grill to be well done. His face said it all like the chef will have to do some acuall work instead of pinging things in the microwave. Its onlt getting a 5* due to the food being perfect

There are two parts to Dukeries Lodge. The bar/restaurant and the Accomodation.

Went with my boyfriend and his dad. Ordered mushrooms to start they came out frozen in the middle obviously sent back when the replacement came they had refried my original one including the one with a bite out of it! Boyfriends dad ordered and 8oz steak and two 40z came out no steak knife had to ask! We had the vegetarian special absolutely abysmal dry over cooked just terrible. Offered no refund discount or pudding for frozen mushrooms had to go and ask myself got a free pudding and they managed to ruin that too... I dont know how you f**k up ice cream but this place managed it!

Had tea here and i can say the setting is fantastic and the food was beautiful. There was a massive choice on the menu and the staff were very friendly and welcoming this is a must if you are in the area. Portions were enormous. No complaints and just wish it was my local. Keep up the good work guys.

This is part of a chai, 'Pub People', bit like spoons only not quite as good. Place is similar to a lot of their places though, bit tatty and knocked about, appealing to lowest common denominator etc. Food ok but basic, cheap eats, usual type of offers, reasonable beer selection. I saw on the web site blurb it's the 'hub' of the surrounding villages - er, I don't think so......................

Had lunch here. The are many, many food choices on the menu. The fish and chips were good. The staff were a bit slow. The prices were very reasonable.

Lack of staff, one lady seemed to do it all from reception to bar tender and waitress, room very basic with a well worn mattress that sloped and you rolled into middle, chiboard furniture from the early 90’s very tired and dated, shower tray filled with so much water that wasn’t draining away that you had to turn the shower off wait 5 mins and carry on ! Windows had wooden blinds with some broken slats and months of dust covering them

Lovely food, really warm outside but still heating on. Had to eat and leave! Sit by an open window and you’ll be fine

Cheap as chips!! Quick service if you are in a rush! Very cheap but great food. Staff friendly and manageress gets stuck in running food out and on bar too.

Valentine’s Day is supposed to be a special occasion. I always take my wife out for lunch and we decided to go into Sherwood Forest on a beautiful sunny day. We made for the village of Edwinstowe off the Doncaster to Nottingham A614 and turn right onto the A616. One goes through the High Street and out of the other side of the village to find the Dukeries Lodge. It looked online to be an imposing mock Tudor hotel.

Visited here after booking a table. Large car park. Reasonable access into the large bar area. Good range of beers but some of the pumps are rather large making contact with the staff difficult. Lots of different dining areas but seem a strange mix.

Had lunch here.. Was nice and staff friendly... Food was good and served very quickly.... Lots of space... Had my disabled dad with me but plenty of room to get around the pub.. I would go again next time I am visiting the area

Although Dukeries Lodge is sat at the side of the road it is well worth the visit , great bar staff a young gentleman and Becky who tended to our every need nothing has been to much trouble for them and I took a group of adults with disabilities and the staff interacted with them and treated them with 100% respect . We loved our visit to the Dukeries Lodge . Will definitely return in the future , thank you .

Found out about this place from one of the chains new refurbished places the Blue stoops at Walton Chesterfield on Sunday it was packed and the atmosphere was good, by the way the locals were just flocking in. Anyhow we were let down by another dinning trip and wanted a ride out on this nice sunny day, arriveing at 12 openning time the place was still locked a guest staying there who had come out without his keys was now locked out.A trip back to the car as he had no phone to get the number. A phone call and we were all let in. No wine list available but the young man showed us the wine, i chose a merlot that turned out to be excellent We sat down at a nice window table and i went to order the meal we shared chichen gougons whith a salad for my lady and myself steak pie off the main menu that came with mixed vegatables. the gougons arrived well over cooked but ok, my ladys salad was ok. But my pie was the one offf the cheap menu small dried up and very poor i was probably the pie off the cheap menu even though i had paid for the better one as it contained kidney something i do not eat. Nobody asked if all was ok We had a share desert and it was Had to ask for the Vegatables got peas again off the cheap pie of the day menu.

Very bad service understaffed no one checks on you to see if everything is ok our food was in one word crap shoot the chef .

The bar staff - one in particular - are hopeless. When we asked which beers they had we were told none as they'd just changed barrels and there would be no real ale until tomorrow. No apology and just basically 'tough'. The food service is no better. The food was OK. Nothing great and not especially hot. We waited 15 in an empty pub for dessert and then had to ask the surly bar staff who promptly brought the OK dessert. Why we were leaned over yo serve when there was plenty of space I have no idea and why on earth we had to pass finished plates for collection was equally baffling. Just awful staff and only mediocre food. Too many other places to eat in Edwinstowe to venture back.

Dukeries is a chain pub so some of the food is best of Brakes. Overall it is a decent local pub with good beer and okay food. It is family friendly and cheaper than the other pubs in Edwinstowe so probably better for those who have fussy children!

I booked a lot of my Wedding Party in here this weekend and they all complimented the place with the bar and menu choice. Nine of ate here with most of choosing the more affordable menu of fish and chips from a great selection and all the meals served together hot and substantive portion. The bar is vibrant with a games room and a lounge food area including a lovely decked outside area for eating and drinking.

Not an enjoyable experience. Ordered at 7:15pm, by 8pm, with no sign of any food or even cutlery I asked at the bar if there was a problem with the order. The barman said it was on the way after checking in the kitchen. He then came to check the order and it hadn't even got to the kitchen. It was on the order system though. When it eventually came, some of the food we cold although the plate was warm! Poor cuts of gammon and greasy egg. We were offered free deserts but we declined.

Service was pretty slow and not very efficient. Several errors were made during the course of our meal (appetisers, mains, desserts and drinks).

We have been as a family for several lunches. Always served promptly. Good choice on menu. Reasonable prices. Sunday lunch is a plate full. No waste on any food with our family. No complaints on the food. Staff welcoming and friendly. Special occasions catered for.

We visited mid-week and just feel this place is left down by the service - albeit welcoming, there's no 'extra-mile' - no simple 'hello' as you enter, no fussing - just a case of find a table, find a menu, order at the bar and wait.

The food was really nice and we didn’t have to wait long for this to come out. The staff are really friendly and are keen to help. The pub was clean and well laid out. Wide range of different food and great food deals ( 2 for £10).

Tasty, inexpensive food, bargains vary with days of the week. My wife's strict gluten-free diet was well catered for.

Visited with a large party, 30+, of ex work colleagues and the general opinion was well done Dukeries Lodge. Most of us arrived at same time and as there were only two staff at the bar there was a bit of a queue and wait to place our orders. The majority of the party chose the 2 for £10 menu, the food arrived reasonably quickly and the quality and quantity was excellent. Fully expect we will be visiting again.

We popped in after taking the kids to Go Ape. We all went for different burgers and chips and was pleasantly surprised. Freshly cooked, tasty and quick service.

We went for dinner on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised when there was plenty of table space. The food came quickly and was very delicious. I loved all the Christmas decorations it was very festive!

We enjoyed a family lunch for 8. The building has lots of character and a beautiful large staircase, which leads up to the hotel rooms. Our food was served hot and tasted delicious. Good size portions for the prices paid. I enjoyed a really filling prawn marine rose sandwich with a portion of chips. Loads of sachets of sauces were available on the tables. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and most of us were tempted with the pudding menu

We were met by a blond young lady who was totally rude. Her face was like stone and she obviously was put out about something. I asked for a pint of shandy and a wine and could she start a bar tab for us. "No" she said "we don't do that". I wanted to leave but my wife talked me into staying. As a matter of safety I would only order starters and out came burnt chicken wings and a prawn cocktail with just a few prawns. We should have known!!! Who owns this operation, where are they, and who is responsible for staff training. The front of house is a mess and it looks like the kitchen is in a similar mess. Will NOT be returning.

Rude staff, "manager has no customer service what's so ever! The only qualification you need to work he is to know how not to smile and make sure they make you feel unwelcome. Can not comment on food as we did not stay to try it.

A small party of us booked a table and it wasn’t what we expected, so we asked for the manager and she told us that’s all we’ve got in a very abrupt manner, (with her hands on her hips). one of our party told us she’s not nice at all and why did we even bother booking here. She needs a lesson in manners. We soon left and had a nice meal in another restaurant close by.

This is our local go to place for a quick lunch or tea.

Just a chance to say thank you 14 of us ate at this hotel last night friendly staff, good atmosphere and lovely food which was cooked perfectly! We will recommend and return!

Visited for 1 night, I was unsure of whether this would be good or bad.It was good. Pleasantly surprised when walking into the building of how modern the inside was, and the place was full of people eating an evening meal, which after looking at the menu were quite average price.

Lovely big open clean pub, friendly staff and food is lovely! Also good if you want a cheap meal on...

Visited here at lunchtime as we often do when we're in the area. Good choice of food and at a decent price. I do love the venue, if this pub was in a city it would be packed. The only thing I would say is that the staff need to smile a bit more and be a little more welcoming, these are the small and easy things that make all the difference

Our visit surpassed previous - we often make an off site meal at the Dukeries. The meal for 8 on this occasion was again an excellent experience. The food arrived very quickly and was excellent quality and value for money. Every member of the parties food arrived at the same time, all cooked to the highest standard and was presented well; tasted lovely.

Occasionally stay here if I'm in the area.

Hemos comido mucho en el pasado y nunca hemos realmente disfrutamos de una comida tan poco como el último par de veces hemos estado. Los ingredientes y la calidad general de la comida que se sirve es bastante pobre, comparado con lo que ha sido en los últimos años. Y el cambio es notable. No muy inspirado o impresionado por la oferta de aquí hoy en día, y a pesar de que no evitaría el lugar por cualquier medio, no lo recomendaría para comer fuera por desgracia.

We have visited The Dukeries many times before as it is "cheap and cheerful" but the last time was over a year ago. As a treat for a sporting achievement I decided to take my son for dinner (Monday night). The menu had changed since the last time and when I went to order the girl stood at the other side of the bar to take my order. I had to ask her to come over so I didnt have to shout it across to her. 40+ mins later we were still waiting for our meal, it was only when some customers who came in after us got served their food within 10 mins of arriving I questioned how much longer we would be waiting. The barman went to find out but 10 mins later when he came back he could hardly tell us anything further apart from "probably not too much longer" The meal...when it came was wrong. My son asked for a cheeseburger that they had put bacon on. When it was brought to the table he was asked if it was a problem. He was so hungry by that point he said no. My "pan fried salmon" was in a greasy batter?!?! I actually sent it back. I paid by card and was refunded for my meal by having a load of change dumped in front of me on the table. As I was hungry I was picking at my son's chips and when he had enough of his burger I ate what was left...and nearly choked on it it was so burned! I left my name and number for the manager to call me today as she was not there last night and guess what? No call! When I eventually called them I was told she had been in but had left. There are some fantastic places to eat and drink in Edwinstowe. Do yourself a favour and go to one of them! Trust me!

I went to lunch Thursday with my daughter and grandson, there were 2 on and it looked busy, Ive eaten there before, but over a year ago, the service was slow, I asked for a wheat and gluten free menu if they had one, out came this thick folder with what I can only say was not a menu, but advice on allergy and food choices not a menu. We eventually ordered and our food came, my chicken was burnt and dry as was my jacket potato, peas, yep that was it, looked awful, I didn't complain I just won't eat there again ever. Over priced and poor.

Telephoned ahead very helpful reception. We were a party of 4 with a service dog. I had read reviews and had seen 5 star food hygiene. It did look a little in need of a revamp however the food was fresh and well cooked with lots offreashly cook veg. Good vehicle option. Waitress more than helpful. It was clean and good choices.

Nice rooms, cheap prices, friendly staff. Bar, good breakfast. Old fashioned but nice decoration, tea and coffee facilities I the room, no complains.

Friendly atmosphere and staff. Plenty of choice in meals and drinks. Reasonable prices and it also does b&b.

this pub looks nicer from the inside than the out, it is well decorated and laid out. The service was good and prices decent. Its fairly standard pub food, with good choices , it was hot and portions generous

Booked up late for a table for six, staff helpful and friendly, we were served a lovely meal, no rush between courses, the food quantity was good as was the quality. Meals were excellent value for the price which was very reasonable, thanks for a lovely evening. A good drink selection.

A pleasant evening here. Standard pub food. Value for money. Surprised by the choice of menu. Friendly polite staff. Huge building, plenty of tables available. Not fine dining but that is obvious before you go in, good pub food and drink.

My wife and I used this hotel for lodgings,whilst at a wedding at the nearby Rufford mill.For what we paid it was ok.the rooms are in need of a revamp,but had a great nights sleep all the same.the hotel is situated in a kind of gastro pub.and the food good..the breakfast is very good...and made to order.the staff are friendly enough and accommodating.if you are after a cheap room around sherwood forest. ..this is ideal

Went for a family meal. Was told they had ran out of the stuff we wanted so ordered something else. Food was terrible and expensive for what it was. Will Not be going again.

Great value pub chain with fairly extensive menu. I called in recently and had the sizzling fajitas! I hadn't expected there to be quite so good and generously portioned, having always had the meal deals on 'two for £9' previously. I'd recommend the prawn fajitas - especially if you are quite peckish! My friend had the chicken. I'll definitely be back for it again as I enjoyed it so much! Pleasant bar area and separate dining room also. Good staff too. Plenty of parking to the side.

This place is great for a nice pub grub meal, decent prices get what you pay for really good portion sizes. Meals are loads better quality than the desserts. The drink prices are good value and there's always a nice atmosphere

Arrived at a great location near to Sherwood Forest, on check in we found the computer system for the booking had selected the day of purchase rather than the day of travel, so on check in they had told us we may have to pay again as we were a "no show". My friend was 7 months pregnant and there was no way we were driving back to Merseyside at 6pm. Once the manager came in she was so helpful and understanding, she sorted a room straight away an even helped us with our bags. My friend and i had a meal there at it was 10/10 faultless, so fresh, piping hot and staff were just lovely. For the price it was brilliant. As for the room it was very basic, old style windows, noisy and walls very thin, didn't get much sleep. Breakfast was brilliant, cereals, full English, hot drinks and juice. Free car park with cameras. Great little pub.

Here is your basic pub grub. It's cheap and okay for what your paying for it. Wouldn't come here for a nice night out but for a quick meal with friends it's okay. Have to pay for bbq...20p for a tiny pot it's appalling. Okay for drink prices too.

Good choice of food on the menu, reasonable prices and quick service. Great location to take children with a strong selection of children's food as well. Reasonably cheap prices and if you are looking for simple quick food (burgers etc) this is a good place to drop in.

We went for a large party, we had a group of 40, good choice on menu and for kids, staff wasn't to friendly. Our group had a few orders incorrect and was late bringing some of the food out. Apart from this I enjoyed the food. Prices was reasonable for both the food and drink.

Wonderful service not one dish was faulted.Polite friendly staff and nothing at all was too much trouble.Highly recommend this place for atmosphere, comfort and food

Stopped here between Christmas and new year with part of my family whilst visiting other family in the area.Somehow I expected more. Family room which was booked for 4 only had two beds on arrival. A further portable bed had to added later into what was already a small room. This made the room too small for 4 people with limited floor space.The room had an ensuite,very tight, and with a shower with only just a trickle. Toilet is a saniflow. Explain that to the kids!Room was draughty at night and although centrally heated a further warm air heater was provided although not used.Food menu was good and reasonably priced.In summary, best viewed as a tired b&b rather than a hotel although have stayed in better b&b's for less. I would not stay here again.

I took the 3 kids to The Dukeries just before Christmas for a late lunch and have to say I am starting to feel like the decor and the menu, tired! The menu has changed recently but the food choices are essentially the same and the portion sizes/quality has definitely reduced. While you can't complain too much at the 2 for £9 choices, the overall standard of food has dropped. The staff are pleasant enough but don't really engage and with the choice of eateries increasing around Edwinstowe, places like The Dukeries have to differentiate themselves. This place is becoming more and more of a generic pub that serves grub, which is a shame.

Called in with my wife yesterday for a lunchtime meal. I ordered the triple stacker burger and she had the butternut, cheese and beetroot burger. We both had a pint she had Dark Fruit whilst I had an ale they had on tap. My ale was warm and I don't mean room temperature it was warm to touch I have drunk colder coffee's. When the food arrived my burger was extremely over cooked my chips were cold and yet my wife's were cripsy and overdone. My chicken on my burger was way overcooked too. That's £25 I'm not gonna see again and I will not be returning to this awful place. I would review the staff too but as they were virtually non existant that seems unfair. We will not be returning one of the worst meals I have ever had.

On a biking trip with pals, used it every night, mains and desserts are equally great, a very well varied and priced menu. Staff were great and sky sports on big screens which was a big plus.

The people were lovely and so is the building.....that's tha good part ! We booked a large double, well if ou room was large ( room 1) goodness knows what the others are like ! We knew there would be noise from the pub but no one told us about the kitchen fan going all night hence no sleep ! Food was ok once they got it right....needless to say we will not be stay nor recommending the hotel ever !

When visiting we used to like this place as you got what you paid for. It wasn't brilliant food but for the price you didn't moan. However they have now pushed their prices up significantly and the food is worse! I think it's a shame and if you're charging those prices I think the food has to be up to scratch. The steaks appeared smaller, the fajitas were awful, you used to get cheeses, plant of peppers etc, this time it was a dull grey mess, no cheese and very tasteless. The steaks were not as good as they were either. So apologies but we will now be using a different venue for our weekly,meeting place one where the quality of the food reflects the prices. :try Forest Lodge instead.

We had a family dinner and the lights above as in Poe repair with shades taped up. The food was ok but slow too come out.

very friendly and helpful reception on arrival. Room very clean and comfortable, with on-suite. Tea making facilities in room. Breakfast - full English was excellent, full range of cereals and fruit juice available. Excellent value.

Well been coming here for years same restaurant different names. My sisters and I go out every month to anywhere that takes our fancy and as we had not been here for a while we thought it's local cheap and cheerful we've always ha a nice meal. When we arrived it was quite so found a table easy finding a clean one was the hard part we ordered our drinks and our glasses were very clean. We ordered a platter to share and then a main course each one of the mains came before starter so sent back and asked for the started waitress shrugged her shoulder and walked off no comment platter arrived very nice and hot we all enjoyed. Then the mains came prawn salad ok only ate about half. Braised beef portobello this was very nice wish I had had this beef was lovely and tender. Then mine come vegetarian risotto with salad and garlic bread looked nice that's all it did it was so mushy it went through my folk there was not much rice and what there was it was like baby food puréed the veg was soggy I asked waitress to take away and if I could order something different after explaining what was wrong to which she said I will go and ask the chef she never returned so I found a waiter did not get his name but he could do with doing your training because he was so polite and helpful and soon got me another meal prawn salad I thought this would be quick and easy what could go wrong and it was cheaper but no refund well my salad consists of an onion some lettuce 3 cherry tomatoes 2 slices of cucumber 4 slices of pepper topped with prawn and Marie rose I started eating but felt this was not fresh I had about 4 helping then decided no more. When waitress came to clear table she asked if everything was OK to which we explained it was not and that we had been coming here year and this was the worst we had ever had to make light of it we even said has the chef had a bad day she just shrugged and walked off no sorry no offer off refund no explanation nothing. Come on Dukeries what is happening this place use to be brilliant food service friendly very welcoming and busy could do with taking a leaf out of the bistros book on the high street now they know all about good service good food chef even comes out to see customers. It is such a shame.

We have just got home after staying here and we will definetly be returning. Our room was lovely and very clean, a bargain at £65. When we arrived the staff were very polite and quick to help us to our room. We then had a quick lunch, I can highly recommend the cheese and chutney baguette. We also are our evening meal here. my partner had the sharing tapas which he said was beautiful. I had the fresh cod and chips which was delicious. The staff were very efficient and the service was very quick. We found the restaurant very clean the whole time we were there. We will definitely be returning

Walked in at 12 for lunch when they opened. Sat at a table, it was sticky, sat at another table, sticky and salt all over the table. The last thing that happens before an eatery closed is the tables should be wiped clean. We were sitting in a small room next to the outside tables. Noticed the old fireplace was still all paint missing and dirty, like it was last time we were here 3 months ago. Looks like it has been that way for years. We both wondered what state the kitchen was in if this is how the dining area looked, so we left.

Went there when empty, took ages for serving and when basic omelette was served, it was burnt!. . . Advised staff and they responded with a shrug. . .

We were trying to find somewhere to eat on a busy day - there was a festival nearby - and in desperation came here. It looks pretty awful both outside and in, great cavernous place with no atmosphere. The menus were dog-eared and greasy so we didn't expect much. We opted to eat outside but sadly the decked area just looks over the carpark, with a noisy airconditioning unit nearby. However, the staff were friendly and the food was surprisingly hot and tasty. Also very good value, two main courses for £10.

Had lunch on two consecutive days, the food was fantastic and great value for money.It was served within ten minutes of ordering, the portions were plentiful and very filling.The customer service was great with staff being very friendly and helpful.

Called here with family and as we had a hungry baby the staff were very accommodating and got us hot water and ice to cool it down, the food was excellent and quick will definitely come back keep up the good work

First was given a room that was not suitable but was quickly rectified by the manager and recieved a satisfying room ...good beds good night sleep and quite .ate in the duckeries too and the meals were lovely and reasonably priced and good portions. The staff are friendly and very helpful with a smile Loved my stay and would certainly go back. The decor is very mixed and mishmash but didn't affect our stay

After a bit of research on google I settled on The Dukeries Lodge for the venue for my wife and me to celebrate my wife's birthday with a break while the kids were at school. We parked in the pub car park and were surprised at the size of the building its huge. We made our way into the bar area where we were greeted with a very friendly member of staff who took our drinks order. We were going to sit in the bar to have our lunch but after a bit of a look around we saw the main restaurant area so we took our seats in there. The restaurant is lovely and spacious with high ceilings and a very grand staircase leading to the hotel accommodation. The menu is quite extensive with a good choice of meals at reasonable prices. I chose the 16oz steak and my wife had the Rufford mixed grill. When our meals arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes, good job we were both hungry. Both our meals were great with our steaks cooked just the way we wanted. After sharing a pudding we were full and took our leave with a friendly goodbye ended our first but definatly not our last visit to the Dukeries lodge , Edwinstowe. If you are looking for a meal in a friendly pub with nice decor and good food at good prices look no further than here. We will be back.

We stayed here for valentines 2015 had a lovely meal cooked in the evening and stayed over the night just as the rooms was being refurbished then a lovely breakfast in the morning. Lovely staff and very helpful.

Stopped by on a bank holiday Monday. Food came out quickly and each of us really enjoyed our meals. I really recommend the beef portobello- it is absolutely delicious. Well done Dukeries Lodge. We will be back!

I should have known when the car park was half empty at 1.00 pm on a Sunday the food would be grim. Their advertising slogan is Fresh & Local. Fresh it wasn't, the roast beef was inedible, re-heated (but cold), over cooked, tough as old boots and had been pre-sliced and pre-packed. Cold gravy, cardboard like yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes looked and tasted like frozen and strange tasting broccoli. I strongly recommend people give this dubious establishment a wide birth. I won't be darkening their doorstep again.

Stayed over for two nights. Room basic but comfortable. Food surprisingly good. Had 16oz rump steak and cod and chips. Both massive and succulent. Great value for the price. Would recommend.

Locale scarso. Servizio al banco. Qualità scarsa. Le cosce di pollo servite erano fredde dentro e la carne non aveva un buon sapore. Unica cosa positiva le porzioni abbondanti. Sconsigliato per i pasti.

revisited this restaurant after sometime and our meal was great we had lasagne bolognese and it was excellent great value for money

We went on a Sunday afternoon. There was 5 of us. We found seats without issue and the menu had ample food! I ordered the sirloin steak and ribs. The steak was cooked perfectly. I didn't like the fudge cake but after eating the main it probably wasn't one of my better ideas in any event! It's a local pub, cheap, free parking, and sky TV for the lads who wanted to watch the footie!

This place was amazing 2 hears ago, now you get what you pay for, cheap meals but are not anything special, the £6 burgers are decent but its pretty hard to mess up a burger really.The staff are what let the place down, on the 20+ times we have visited we nearly always wait over 2 minutes at a empty bar waiting for staff to order! Never seen a staff member smile and on a couple of occasions the staff have just been talking to eachother and completely ignoring customers!!As i said cheap and no frills but dont expect anything special or amazing service
