Blue Chippy in Leicester

First time going here, bought a big bottle of fanta, tasted disgusting. Checked the bottle & it was almost 5 months out of date. Won’t be going here again.

Brought chips from this place and the next day myself and my daughter vomited throughout the day. I did find the taste of the chips a bit off compared to my locals. Definitely will not be visiting this place again

Put vinger on chip's on person before who didn't want it vinegar so they just chucked them back with other chip's

Ordered a large chicken tikka with naan bread and chips. Massive portion, enough for 2 people. Delicious chicken pieces with plenty of salad and chili sauce. Chips were soft and tasty, as I like them! No parking outside but worth walking a bit. Would recommend 👌

Best kebab you can ever get loved it will be back now this is my main chippy the food is one of the best and decent portions and the staff are so lovely.

Im guessing it's a family run business. They are great, I don't even bother going anywhere else

I used to love the kebabs from there but last time I went they got order wrong, forgot items and the lady owner is so miserable!!! My sister also had a battered sausage that was mouldy!! The food looks like it’s been there all day! Sausages are shrivelled up, salad all dry been there days. Wouldn’t eat from there again they only care about making money. AVOID

This is now our regular chippy! Family run and friendly faces everytime we go. Portion sizes are great, hot and tasty!

Chips in pitta wonderful, quality is great, sometimes given stuff we didn't ask for and spices not mixed properly but still great food.

Generous portions and fast service. Not too busy at 8.15pm on Friday night. Excellent value …pop in if you’re passing by…

Havnt been for a while and yes the prices have gone up but the portion sizes make up for that it's still really good value for money.

Hands down the best Chippy out there. The best sourced quality food, highly competitive prices with the best owners whom offer an honest service whilst running the business with the utmost integrity! Hard to find nowadays!

This is my fave Friday night takeaway! The chips are authentic fish and chips chips! Freshly cut and cooked! And they have so many other Indian options on the menu! All the tikka options are amazing! Reccomend the paneer masala chips! The best are the green pickled chillies you get on the side!

Very poor service and fish felt like been refried would not recommend anyone to try their food. The chap made me wait 20 mins and then ended up giving me the fish that was cooked before I ask for Cod he said we dont do that we only have Haddock and very rude to his customers.

it was okay, the kebab 10/10💖 The fish however, extremely greasy and far too big it could feed 5 people. The chips are far to salty, dont ask for salt🤟 All together, 3.6 - 4 rate! Reccomend i guess.

Very slow service. 2 customers but lady took so long to serve she looked fed up.sadly I had to wait 23minutes. But food was good.

Food variety is really good, they do vegetarian alternatives. The service is abit slow also if you pre-order over the phone your order will not be ready done until u go into the shop, you will end up waiting as long as it takes.

The paneer here is pretty great 👍

I went today and ordered chicken downer on pita bread and chips, owners wife took the order, Husbend delivered different. Funny thing is they avoid visual contact and shield what they are serving. Very disappointed to say one should avoid this place unless no option.

I’ve been going to this chop shop for years. As a child I used to have a chicken tikka masala but since moving to Brighton I’ve become a vegetarian. Now my favourite takeaway option when visiting Leicester is a paneer tikka kebab!

Its not the first time this has happened, Be very careful with the owners wife serving you, check your change, shes got a very bad habit of short changing you. Very bad customers service. Not a good woman.

Food was terrible, too much sauce. Wasn't even asked how much I wanted. Not enough panner. No way worth £3.80. Bad food, poor customer service and attitude. Won't be going there again. Food went in the bin!

Being going to blue chippy for many years now and I absolutely love their food. The food is good quality and is a great takeaway for a late Friday night. Totally recommend it if you are in the area.

Good variety of English dishes and Indian. Place looks clean 5 star rating on display. I only had a cone of chips with beans and gravy on £3.20 very expensive for what I had. Think they should review the prices other deals didn't seam to bad.

a decent chippy worth a visit if your near by the chips are tasty and an average price in the area the staff are polite aswell.

Man behind counter is rude and asked for fresh fish to be cooked, not happy about this but did it, wish I hadn't asked as it was still raw in middle when got home and batter full of grease as were the old and dry battered sausage and chicken & mushroom pie, chips were soggy and half cold. Vile experience. Never again. Avoid like the plague!

The female owner is really rude, finds the simplest questions objectionable. It is entertaining watching her argue with her husband however. Ok the food, hygiene is poor just look take a moment and think about what your seeing, the cod is not cod. Not worth the bother to be honest, wont be back

We used to go here all the time on a Friday for dinner but recently it was all just grease and today around half an hour after eating 3 of us had to rush to the toilet

I heard good reviews about this place and thought it would be nice to try with the family... I ordered a COD fish to be made fresh, but I was truly LIED to!! The lady claimed to give me a COD but this was with all the others. I did not question it as I was told it was a "COD"... When I got home to the family and realised I was LIED to and was given a cheap alternative!! TASTELESS and OILY!! What a waste... You should get what you paid for, I just got ripped off!! ***Next time I will stick to my usually chippy down the road... Gipsy Lane Chippery... All the way!!***

V good lunch take out. Smaller fish but great size for a lunch snack. Quick pleasant service. Good price also cheaper than expected.

This is my fav chippy. For indian options. Paneer tikka and kebabs are top. Sauces salad and fresh naans make the meal spot on. Superb value aswell. Busy for a reason

Good size chip portions every time, variety of rake away foods, very busy but worth the wait would recommend to anyone
