Lovely wainwrights beer, cider and food with friends in a sunny beer garden! Great for dogs, families and everything in-between.

We've visited quite a lot this summer and have booked for Xmas day. One of the reasons we come is the children's meals are lovely. You have the option of potatoes and veg which you don't get in a lot of places sadly. My daughter had the mixed veg and I was expecting the type that's in a frozen bag but it wasn't. She had a good and really enjoyed it. It's served beautifully too and good value, it includes ice-cream and a drink.

Average food. Went for a family meal and paid premium prices for food I could make better myself. Used to be so much better. Won’t be going again I’m afraid unless food improves to match the price.

Had some of the smokey bacconaise wings...we're really delicious and filling...the service was great and staff very friendly...would definitely recomme

Called today, we all had fish chips and peas which was delicious and served quickly. The staff were very attentive and asked if our meal was okay which it was. Nice cold beer, a lovely visit many thanks.

We have been visiting for lunch for several years probably once a month and have always been satisfied with the smaller lunch menu. When the new menu was announced we visited to see what had changed, pretty much everything ☹️. The old lunch menu had gone to be replaced by a new menu where the only lunch options were jacket potatoes and baguettes/wraps etc. Often in the past when visiting we had to book as the pub was packed, today the pub was almost empty. People no doubt voting with their feet, we mentioned our disappointment with the staff who said they would pass our comments on. We said that we would no longer be coming in at lunch unless the menu changes which is a shame as we really enjoyed the food on the old menu and the bar always had a great selection of different beers.

The food was amazing and the pub itself is warm, cosy and very welcoming. All credit goes to the management and staff who made us feel at home with excellent service. See you again soon!

Visited here today 29th Sept 2023 being fist time since lockdown. Wasnt too busy to start but got busier. Good menus and decent prices. we had the burger which was very nice indeed, a few more chips would have been good. great customer service. Will be back

We enjoyed a really lovely lunch today both food and service were excellent. Dale the guy behind the bar and also waiting on was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was excellent . Two ate duck one ate steak all were well cooked and presented- dessert was equally good two crumbles one millionaire pud again really good and well presented.

We are locals and call in for drink most weekends but the service at the bar is dreadful each time we go in there is normally only one person serving and others just wondering around. While I appreciate the staff have to tidy up wouldn’t be better service to serve the customers that stand waiting at the bar and then “ tidy up”

We live local to the Queens head and its a pub with a nice atmosphere but the food last night was not good at all, the hunters chicken which was cooked so long i should of asked for a steak knife, and the meal wasn't very good to look at for the price with limited chips and a few peas , the other meal lasagna was clearly just a microwaved meal with sweet potato fries which were cold and like card board , overall not a good experience which is a shame with it being a local and nice pub , your only as good as your last meal served and these were well below a good standard .

Beautiful pub, friendly staff and excellent food. Called in with my husband as a last minute decision on our way home. The bar tender was extremely friendly and attentive. We ordered 3 small plates to share and they were very tasty. The garden is beautiful with plenty of seating offering sunny and shaded areas. We don’t live close but we will certainly be making more trips to this pub as it was that nice.

Had the rib-eye steak ! Service slow Mushrooms were stone cold on everybody’s plate pepper sauce was watered down. I asked for a medium cooked stake absolutely raw ! They took it away to cook it a bit more Came back burnt,it wasn’t my steak the brought back to me. Nobody ever asked if everything was ok. Manager disappeared when we went to pay. Don’t wast your hard earned money.

Breakfast is amazing quality and good value! The service is always exceptional and we always feel welcome. Keep up the good work!

I come to the queens very frequently, the staff are amazing, one particular girl caught my eye, was meant to write this a while ago but we went away, haven’t seen her recently, but I think her name is Emelia, the dedication this girl shows was amazing, sat and watched her clean a table a child had wrote on in marker, she was so nice and polite, always asking if everything was ok, such a lovely girl, I see her often around ockbrook, the queens are lucky to have such a vibrant young lady on the there staff, some of the staff are always hanging around, I do hear them moaning about hrs, which can be quiet off putting, the food is amazing, but do think the management need to have a shake up with there staff, do hope we see Emelia again, such a happy girl who goes above and beyond..

Visited today as close by Elvaston Castle for Food and drinks, Sunday Lunch was beautiful, Great Price and they even offer you EXTRA Roast Potatoes and Yorkshire Puddings! Me and my friends have been regular visitors to the Wednesday pub quiz at the Queens Head. The staff have always been very welcoming and have been very catering towards my milk allergy whenever I have ordered.
