We visited the Oak Room on Friday 17th and couldn’t be happier. The setting is stunning, food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and courteous, Mel was lovely and Martin was so professional making our evening even better. Thank you, we will definitely be back.

Absolutely loved the visit at the Parlour Tearoom! Staff were friendly and service was awesome as a whole. The scones were incredible and the brownies, just wow. Honestly, with those brownies, I was thinking of the song “Heaven is a place on earth” by Belinda Carlisle whilst eating those brownies. So crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, absolute delight to eat those! Definitely recommend!

Not the best!!! The amouth of hollandaise sauce was far too much, which overpowered the dish! The muffins were untoasted, bacon under cooked & overall cold!! My friends smoked salmon croissant was awful, especially for £9! We thought it would be a flakey, hot croissant with fresh smoked salmon pieces & cream cheese separately, not mixed together & piped on! Very disappointing visit after hearing good reviews. Won't be returning, unfortunately.

We had some of the best fish and chips from S & E we've ever had when we stayed in West Bay 2 years ago, so were prepared to wait the 40 minutes it took to be served. We were unsure why it took so long: there were long periods when no-one moved at all. We wish we hadn't done so, as the chips were not nice to eat (they looked grey, were not crisp, and tasted "earthy") and the batter on the plaice was hard and very thick. The only good thing was the plaice itself. That's why I gave more than 1 star. Will we bother to queue again when there is so much competition within a few yards? Very unlikely.

Having read the reviews we decided to book for a family lunch. There was a limited range of drinks available and the food served was barely luke warm and pretty small portions with one of our party not having any meat at all with their roast potatoes and veg. The choice for dessert was ice cream only so we decided to cut our losses and went to a nearby farm shop for coffee and cake. All in all a very disappointing experience.

Generally the food and service was ok but one small chipolata sausage for the kids meal with chips and beans for over £6 was very disappointing. I did mention it to the waitress. I understand how some customers might try it on ordering kids meals for adults but this was barely enough for our 18 month old grandson and definitely not enough for our 3 year old.
