We went to watch n England game, this place really is great for the golfers, if your not and want to visit for a dog walk or cycle thens its ok for a drink, the food though is very very expensive and lacking in any sort of quality. Everything is frozen but the prize is ridiculous. £14, £15, £15 for a very small portion, you can feed two people nearby for this money.

I really can't fault the Forest Inn. Staff are friendly and courteous. Drinks selection is very good and draft beers and lagers looked after. I've arranged many events here, and on this day we had a pre-ordered curry for 45 people. Superb food. Looking forward to the summer after the new patio, new tables and sun shades. Upgraded sound and lights and the booths.

Lovely Venue, gets very busy at times

We didn't eat here today, but the 💔 menu looked really good, saw a bacon bap which someone ordered and it looked really tasty so much bacon. Would highly recommend this place for breakfast.

Great service staff, good value, good quality food, alot of golf clubs clattering past whilst eating was the only slight disturbance, and the Guinness was a bit dear lol Great place overall

Couldn't get a table for three of us, as apart from two tables which were reserved. It was busy, as always. Maybe suggest a coffee and snacks area only, and a separate area for meals especially lunchtime. As are catering for, golfers, bikers and walkers. Would normally give 4-5 stars.

A great location, whether it's just to meet up with friends or work meeting, even cycle ride or dogs walk. This is a genuinely friendly venue.

Members of staff are very nice, polite, efficient. Food is great, varied menu, good value. One of my favourites, wonderful breakfasts also. 🙂👍

We usually stop here for a beer after golf and always enjoy the service and drinks, but due to some terrible weather, we cut our game short and had lunch. A couple of burgers and a beef sandwich were ordered and all enjoyed. I opted for the blue cheese burger with dirty chilli fries , a really tasty, filling , and warming lunch after spending a couple of hours in the rain. All was washed down with Sandbanks bitter, lovely !

Can't fault our visit. A great evening at Forest Inn. Over 30 ex colleagues catching up. A superb set two course meal. Staff were excellent. Everyone without exception wants to return.. Thank you to all the staff that made this such a memorable evening.

We dropped in here based on reviews, because we were passing on a road journey. Didn't realise that it was part of the golf club. Welcome was very friendly. Tables somewhat basic - tablecloths would work wonders. Burgers not presented as shown in the photos here, but all the food was tasty. Portions generous, and prices extremely reasonable. The loaded nachos starter was excellent, and two of our party were American, so that's high praise! Relaxed atmosphere with a mix of clientele. I would drop in again if passing.

We booked a retirement party for 40+people. We were given the lovely patio area, very accommodating with music & tv (football & rugby). Food was exceptional. We had the American buffet, all freshly prepared & delivered on time. Harrison was our host for the evening & couldn’t have been more lovely. Highly recommend for a private function or just a lovely time out for a beer or lunch

Nice atmosphere, coffee cheaper than other places. Food very expensive tho.....but a nice quite well kept place for a coffee and catch up.

The food was lovely. My daughter had ham, egg and chips and the ham was very good! My burger was very nice too, well cooked as medium and juicy. We stayed in a camp site only 15 minutes walk, so will definitely go again when we go nearby next time.

Was really looking forward to my birthday meal here after reading reviews but must say was a tad disappointed. My partner when ordering asked for 2 starters and 2 mains. He was asked at time of ordering did he want these brought out at same time which he found wierd. Ordered Nachos and there was no sour cream. Then no sooner had we finished starter main was on table and it seemed it had been kept under a hot plate waiting for us to finish starter. My steak was tough and not tender at all. Plus because it had gone past 8.30 could not order a desert as they say kitchen closed. We ordered 7.30, good came out 8.05 . Surely they cannot expect you to eat two courses in 25 mins and get started ordered before 8.30. I heard another table moaning about this also. You have to pay as order as well which I find unusual. In the main disappointed big time

A great location. Whether its for friends, family or just stop for a coffee. I organised a Bar B Q for 50 people. Service was faultless and food was excellent. Thank you to all the staff that made the evening so memorable.

Had chilli 'starter', it's massive and really nice. This place is great for a pint after golf.

We each had a salad here, one the Caesar and the other the chicken, bacon and avocado, they were delicious. Plenty of outdoor seating and tables overlooking the 18th green. Scenery not so great but the Inn is worth visiting for a bite and a drink.

4 people had gammon . Chips far to thick and tasteless . Gammon chewy on 3 . Eggs hard and with pepper on ! I don't like pepper . Why is there paper on the plate under the food ? Not enough staff clearly as tables were left uncleared . Will not return

Went to the Forest Inn for breakfast with friends who have a dog. I have to say, the staff were lovely, the breakfast was great and served until 11.30 so could also go for a late brunch. The menu isn’t huge but was all we wanted. The quality of the breakfast food was first class and a full breakfast for £11 (all local produce) was well worth it. I will be going back as it’s local to me.

Held a Wake here for my late Mum. The staff were amazing. The food/buffet was even better. Cannot thank you all enough for all your efforts on the day.

We recently visited to take my mum (88 yo) out for dinner. Please be aware that the Moving Mountains burger which is said on the menu to be ‘a vegan dream’ isn’t. If you read the allergens listed the bun it comes in contains egg! Not a vegan dream! Also it would have been helpful to advise us when booking the table over the telephone that they would be showing a televised football match, the volume of which was considerably loud. If we had been made aware of this we would have booked elsewhere.

Great food and a friendly place

A great Burns Night supper for 44 guests who all really enjoyed the evening. Chefs made a really good job with the food, which was quite authentic and delicious all the staff were pleasant and helpful so well done you. Please pass on my comments to the chef/manager

Lovely and relaxing place to sit outside with your dog on a sunny day. Patio heaters available if a bit chilli. Good food at very reasonable prices and right on the edge of the Castleman Trailway. If you want a good walk there you can start from Ringwood or, the other way, from Upton Country Park - 95% off lead for a well trained dog.

Great set up, currently being refurbished but still partially open, due fully open 25th jan. Wide selection of food. Good stop off point if walking cadtlemain trail or playing golf.

Surprisingly spacious bars, good value and dog friendly.

This is such a warm and welcoming place to stop a enjoy food or just a coffee. Such friendly staff who on more than one occasion have been so kind and helpful. Being able to take our dog with us allows us to stop in mid walk. Really worth a visit.

Busy but still great food fantastic staff

We had a wonderful afternoon tea this afternoon at the Forest Inn. The food was plentiful and the staff attentive and I would really recommend it. I gather they aren’t asked often to do afternoon tea, not sure why because they certainly nailed it.

I like this place for it's simplicity. A basic menu but meals, snacks and sandwiches offered. Prices are reasonable. You can sit in or out. There is a covered area outside too which is great if the weather is a bit drizzly. My only real niggle here is that if you order a cup of tea the staff will put milk in - whatever amount they choose. I have asked for a small jug of milk on one occasion so whoever was drinking tea could make it to their taste. This is such a small thing but tea is a personal thing and a little jug of milk would make all the difference.

This pub apparently stops accepting orders for food at 8:28pm. And will do absolutely nothing to help if you turn up while they’re still delivering hot food and the kitchen is clearly still running. They couldn’t be less interested in customer care. Abysmal.

Been for breakfast this morning and disappointed- asked the staff to clear and wipe the table, which after waiting 10 minutes ( it wasn’t busy) I did myself. Unfortunately both of our cooked breakfasts were also stone cold. A shame as it’s a lovely environment
