Eat out scheme excellent value, great food and the service staff are lovely. Shame place has closed as the food is exceptional. 🙁

Most amazing burgers sold with lots of love staff are all amazing with evn better food. I must add as a person who come to montys all the time they where not open in April so last review means nothing to me LOL

The state they leave their rubbish outside the burger house is horrific. They dont care about the disgusting state of the street and the mess they create.

Ordered food but completely different items were delivered. Asked them to replace them they would not wanna know.

2nd time visit and it didn't disappoint. Food and service fantastic. Atmosphere buzzing but not to interfere in table conversation

Every time we come here we have the same best food and service experience. Burgers are to die for, especially cajun chicken and pulled pork yum. Really recommend trying this lovely place, it never disappoints.

We went this evening for the 2 6oz burgers for £12 deal. We both had The Cowboy.Best burger I've had in years! No joke. So fresh, juicy and seasoned to perfection. Sauce combo on the burger complimented it amazingly.Slightly pink in the middle, exactly how it should be.The waiting staff were lovely, so friendly and chatty. We'll be back! Highly recommend.

This is a small 'Burger' restaurant who make their own 'meat patties' It was my first visit and definitely won't be the last. A good choice of burgers- we had the 'Cowboy' a fantastic blend of meat, bacon cheese and various sauces. I've never been a lover of the ubiquitous burger served at so many fast food outlets but the burgers served to us proved there are places that serve REAL burgers. The food was fantastic, the service prompt and friendly and the atmosphere eclectic. WE will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely food at competitive prices. The service was really friendly and helpful and the selection of beers good too. Two small gripes- seats are pretty uncomfortable, with wooden box seats full of gaps and rather tired cushions on top, and the burgers could have been served hotter but it was a busy night. Will definitely revisit.

Not been for a while and I was thoroughly overjoyed. This is the best burger joint in town. I had the cowboy 12oz. I’ve tried burgers in various other places and they have been disappointing. The service was excellent. I chose this place for my birthday lunch. Absolutely love it

Best burger I have ever tried. montys have a great selection for young and old and has an amazing atmosphere they have a chef called Jack who is top dog great chef

We had booked a table for 10 and sent through a pre order. This worked extremely well and the burgers were all very well received. They were big and filling, and the sides good as well.

Came here with my boyfriend and the burgers are amazing! Definitely one for avid burger lovers. Staff were also really friendly. Only thing I’d say is that the side dishes aren’t as good as they could be (we had tater tots and onion rings) but the burger saved it :-)

Drove down from Gloucestershire to try this burger place out, and Monty's did not disappoint!

Slightly off of the main square so we nearly missed it but be sure not to! It’s worth finding!

One of our favourite places to enjoy a burger. There is another branch in Pokesdown but I much prefer this branch for ambiance, location and staff. Also the smell in the Pokesdown branch is of disinfectant and rather offputting. This branch is very convenient to the city centre and Winter Gardens.

Super friendly and attentive staff. Our starters came out in good time (mozzarella sticks and tater tots) great portion sizes for sharing or a big appetite. The mains came out shortly after, the beef burgers were the best quality and well seasoned. We ordered two of the special 'Sinner burger' which contained hash browns and chicken nuggets etc... never seen or had anything like it before! Really tasty and unique. The pulled chicken burger was also tender and full of flavour. Can't wait to come back!

Saw the pictures on Instagram so decided to see if the food was as good as it looks... God yes it is!! Can’t wait to go again in a few days!

I visited Monty's on Tuesday 25 June 2019 at 7.30pm, a weekday during term time. I was with three other people. This was my third visit.

Highly recommend Montys. Best burgers and brownies we have ever had! Make sure you visit next time you are in Bournemouth.

We went here 16/5/19 for a family birthday meal,the staff were fine and helpful we ordered 3 adult meals and 2 kids meals..the adult meals were great but when we saw the kids burgers we had to laugh..they were tiny,but i suppose for the 4.95 price you don't expect much and there was a soft drink and fries inculded.

My partner and I popped in for a quick bite to eat on Wednesday evening.

We came here last night. I consider myself a proper meat eater, I love burgers, i have had so many and made so many i have lost count. This place does amazing burgers. Like seriously amazing burgers. I thought 7 bone were good but this place has well and truly outshone them. As you may imagine, they do various types, my preferred last night was the pulled pork with an extra patty and hash browns. My mate had the mac and cheese burger as I looked on in awe at this gooey beast they presented in front of him. I ended up having a foodgasm. I literally cannot tell you the conversation that we had at our table as I was too focussed on eating my burger. All in all, brilliant food, excellent service and a great night had by (I assume) all. Again, i ended being too focussed on the food rather than my friends to see if they were having a good time.

Nice relaxed restaurant, good food, well priced and good service. Portions were a really good size, great burgers and fantastic sweets. We all left feeling very full😀

I’ve heard lots about Monty’s, so finally decided that I’ll try, and been there already twice! There is lots of great options for meat lovers. Burgers were fresh and reasonable size. Last time I had the “iceberg wedge” On the side too. How shocked I was when I literally got a quarter of an iceberg lettuce in one piece in a bowl. Still, dressing and bacon was very tasty, but that was bit weird. Also the atmosphere is quite cool, waitresses are very friendly, however, you need to be very patient there. Even if there were only 3 tables, we had to wait for everything for ages. To order, for our food, then for a bill and another 20 minutes to pay. In the end we just went to the bar to pay. If the staff was less chillin at work, they could get nice tips. Overall great place if you’re not in hurry ;)

This place is always consistently good and we average a visit about once a month!

Seriously nice burgers! Well cooked and very tasty, service a bit unorganized but very friendly, great experience. We used to have a favorite burger place around the corner but as you can never get a table we tried this one and will definitely come back!!

We had the mama Lou hot dog, tater tots with mac and cheese and the sinner burger. Everything was very tasty and good flavour combinations. Tater tots were delicious.

nice atmosphere, not expensive, upmarket burger restaurant. fridays happy hour for cocktails! nice food ,only issue probably unisex toilets (2) and broken bolt on upstairs one , loo to far from door to keep your foot on door !

I have previously eaten at the pokesdown Montys, the food was always good and atmosphere warm and friendly.

Myself and my partner visited Monty’s Lounge after a recommendation from a friend. We had a lovely evening and the food was delicious. They had just had a new menu - I had the Mac n cheese hotdog and tater tots with Mac n cheese as a starter. I’m a Big Mac n cheese fan....! My partner had a double burger which was really nice and juicy and cheesy! He also has a freakshake which looked and tasted so good! The staff were really friendly too and it was nice and busy too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be recommending it to my friends and family too.

I went for some food on a Friday night and was happy to get a table as I hadn't booked. I was very happy with my burger, the jalapeño slaw was really good and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The portion was perfect for me. I liked that the burger didn't come with any half-hearted salad as in other places; I'm having a burger= Im having a treat - so no need for a silly little salad! Looking forward to eating here again.

Please don't get me wrong i would not fault this place for anything other than two points.... well maybe 3.

It was ok, not great. Service was average and the burgers are ok i guess, but pretty small considering the price and sides are extra.

I dont know what the reviews below me are about. The blond waitress was super friendly and the food was way better than anything around here. Keep doing what your doing, We felt bad for not leaving a tip!

The food here is amazing, I throughly enjoy it.

I have been to Monty’s around three or four times. The last time I went blond waitress was really rude throwing the menus on the table without even saying hi (restaurant was not busy, so no excuse). I then went to the bathroom. When I returned to the table my friends already ordered. She told them that she will come later, so I come out of the toilet, she sees me and she does nothing, keeps on drinking her coffee outside. When the food came she left it in the end of the table and we had to serve it. I never ordered because she never asked if I want anything and we never got drinks (not even some tap water) because she didn’t asked us. Food was good but service is terrible every time. It seems like they don’t want to sell. Also the cutlery were dirty.

I moved to Bournemouth from London and Monty's Lounge does some of the best burgers I have ever had. The staff are friendly and attentive, burgers are delicious and the sides are brilliant and inventive (I would recommend the onion rings and adding bacon and maple syrup to fries!). If ever friends and family visit I always take them here and it is the first place I would recommend to people wanting to eat out in Bournemouth.

This was our first time visiting Monty’s Lounge and it didn’t disappoint. If you’re a big fan of burgers then this place is definitely for you. I ordered the full monty with skinny fries on the side which tasted delicious! I would highly recommend going for this option. There are so many burgers to choose from I couldn’t decide what to have so I will definitely be going back to try some of the others for sure. Great variety on the menu and the prices weren’t bad either. Service was good, it was fast and we had a friendly man serve us who was very helpful.

We went as a group of 7 people on a Saturday night. The staff were very friendly and quick to ask for drinks as we turned up (not all at the same time).

Simply put: Possibly the most flavourful mouth-watering burger I've ever had, the scratch-made chilli jam and baconnaise was a heady combo. The sides and dessert were all fantastic too!

I went to montys with a friend. Herd good things about this place. The service was awful. So slow. Waitress serving wasn’t very friendly. We waited 15-20mins for our burgers. Which were average. I had the shredded chicken Burger which said would have double cheese only to find a tiny smearing of cheese in it. We had tater tots which were actually very nice so we asked for another bowl. It took 30 minutes for them to arrive. It’s wasnt even busy in the restaurant. So disappointing. We will not being going back again!

Burgers are excellent not far from the pier easy to find. Friendly staff. Milkshakes were good too. Reasonable price fed two adults and a child with two beers for 40 quid

Monty’s have amazing burgers and great service, on this occasion we were served by a lady called rosie, she was very pleasant and helped choose our food, i had a “hangover burger” and would recommend it to anyone, if you love burgers you will definitely love this place.

We booked Montys for a work social, and we weren't disappointed!

Came in on Friday night for dinner. I had looked at the website beforehand and looked forward to the cocktails being on a 2 for 1 offer.

Visited this burger bar after going to the cinema have heard people talking about it, service was so slow it took two hours to have some drinks and a burger, the staff were nice and freindly. Had pork scratching as snack whilsted we waited I think if you put these under a wacker plate they would still come out in one peice, the burgers were nice but asked for bacon as a extra and paid 1.50 for half a slice of streaky bacon a bit to pricey.

Started off good as we was quickly seated by our waiter. We was waiting for someone else to join us who was running late. He eventually arrived and we placed our orders. After a quick 10 minutes 3 out of the 4 burgers arrived and they were delicious all around. Can't fault the food that we received, however my chicken burger took some 10-15 minutes to arrive after my table of friends had already finished. Finally my burger comes out from the kitchen for the waiter to only drop it on the floor. He said that it would be another 10-15 minutes to which I said don't bother, all I had was my boyfriends fries which he wasn't happy about as he likes his fries. The staff was apologetic towards the end of our stay and he did discount some of the price and drinks to say sorry which although my meal was ruined, the rest of the party was happy with. Such a shame as my friends burgers looked and tasted brilliant as did the rustic cut fries, just a shame nowadays that more often than not, more and more restaurants/eateries don't treat lunch service like a dinner service with little staff and everyone still in 1st gear. Such as shame as an extra staff member, maybe a supervisor/senior member of the team would have made such a difference to my meal, the staff wouldn't be so complacent and little things like serving an order at the same time and being more focused and not dropping food on the floor wouldn't happen.

Came here with a big group and was very impressed. Friendly, attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. I had one of the vegetarian burgers and have to say it was the most delicious I have ever had. Will definitely return

Great burger & beer, something for both adults & kids here, more importantly when my wife asked for a tester of the beer, they couldn't have been more helpful with a generous tasting!

What a brilliant place to eat and be with friends, The burgers are cooked to your choice, this place is a must if looking for a good burger.

I stumbled across this place whilst out shopping and what a find !

Everything about this place is great! The mozzarella sticks and the burgers were delicious and service good. The only downsides were that it gets loud when there are many people inside so you kind of have to yell at each other and some of the triple fried fries were not crunchy but more soaked in oil, still we could eat a big part of it and hope it was just a one time thing. Will definitely return and try the skinny fries then! Recommend to anyone looking for a gourmet burger

Took my wife & daughters last Friday evening. Friendly, helpful staff & a good atmosphere too. Perfect burgers, onion rings & fries, we were all genuinely impressed. To top it all off Estrella on Tap, we will be going back (very soon)!

We had very delicious Chicken Burgers hot and spicy and very yummy. Value for money in the town centre too. Excellent friendly service. Great ambience, will definitely return.

We've got lots of choice in Bournemouth for burgers now, but the best is definitely Monty's. 7Bone is proper tasty, but it's quite greasy and you go home stinking of beef. Monty's is our favourite by far! We first went last year, and probably go about once a month, it's that yummy and it's excellent value for money too. Their Tuesday deal is a burger, skinny fries, and a soft drink for £9.95! The staff are super friendly too. Can't wait to go again!

My SO and I admittedly come here at least once a month. We think the burgers are absolutely fantastic and whenever we head to a movie or something we always agree that a trip to Montys is needed haha.

Montys surpassed all expectations!

We haven't had a really good burger in ages and decided to give Monty's a try. We weren't disappointed - they were delicious! Really well cooked, tasty sauces inside and excellent crispy fries. The menu selection was great, with some good veggie options too. Our server was welcoming and friendly and talked us through the choices. We went for the meal deal £9.50 for a burger and fries. This Bourne Ave branch is sister to the Boscombe one with similar funky decor. Will definitely go again.

Came here to eat recently after spending the day a few doors down. Place looked OK, but honestly ate here based mainly on convenience. Wow!! Burger (Ragin' Cajin) was absolutely incredible, cooked to perfection, and complemented beautifully by exceptional Rosemary Fries, My other half had the Italian Stallion and was equally impressed, if you have one night to eat in Bournemouth, get yourself to Monty's Lounge, you won't be disappointed!!!

Excellent value, top quality burgers in a friendly accommodating atmosphere. I would highly recommend it and you have t have a shake - maybe between two though! Will definitely be back.

Bournemouth has loads of burger bars now. This isn't the most premium of he lot but it's not trying to be. Great quality burgers, well presented, great service and very well priced. Always a great place to drop in for lunch. Two for Tuesday is also a bargain.

Visited this place today, it was a busy lunchtime but the food came out quick hot and tasty burgers. Nice tunes playing in the background. If you want a good tasty burger come here.

Visited with our children and all of us were impressed. The guys here are attentive & friendly, the restaurant is light airy and comfortable.

Absolutely top notch burgers, with high quality accompaniments, friendly staff and a nice easy-going atmosphere. The huge shakes are almost a meal in themselves and not to be missed. Good choice of music and relaxed decor add to the experience. All in all this is as good a burger bar as you will find and on a par with some of those I have visited in NY and London. A much better bet than the burger chains. Highly recommended!

Lovely retro 50's surfing feel to the restaurant, especially liked the pompom burgers hanging from the ceiling, Hadthe ragin Cajun chicken burger that was delicious, none of us had any complaints.

As massive fans of the Pokesdown Montys we decided to pop in for a burger before a movie at BH2 - we were not disappointed. Same great food, service and atmosphere!

Went here prior to movie at BH2. turned out to be a good choice as restaurants in BH2 were heaving. We were seated quickly in the restaurant which was quiet but it soon filled up and became busy. Service was really friendly and prompt and the burger was good. Pulled pork was really nice. Would return here. Nice atmosphere.

Popped in by chance after a good walk along the beach. We all had a different burger I had the Cowboy with skinny fries delicious! Everyone said the same about theirs. Cannot wait for the next trip too bournemouth just to go to Monty's!

Visited Monty's with my family on a Sunday lunchtime. When we arrived at 1.30 all the tables were occupied but we were told a table would be available probably 15-30 minutes. There was a lower ground restaurant area but this was not open on this occasion. We reserved a table for 2pm and had a nice walk around Bournemouth Square in the meantime. When we returned our table was ready for us. Very welcoming service staff. The menu choice is only burgers but there were two veggie options available. Between us we had cheesy burger and pulled pork. Absolutely delicious and for once I could not manage to finish it. Nice side of chips shared between two of us. Also had Uh-oh Orio shake. These are massive but gorgeous but only once in a while!
