The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

It was a lovely setting with a very good view of Scrabo Tower. Bright and airy with a great atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious we really enjoyed our breakfast. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Definitely returning perhaps next time for afternoon tea.

Had a meal with kids this weekend. I ordered pad Thai and special chicken fried rice with stir fried pork. Excellent taste and calm ambience. At the centre of the city shopping complex. A free car park after 6 pm. Overall a good experience.

Had our first meal today at 27….Sunday lunch was pretty outstanding. So much excellent food, served beautifully. Service was hit & miss, slow & inattentive but I’ll put that down to it being very busy & will definitely go again. Totally recommend!

Proper cracking breakfast. The mix of items I wanted wasn't on the menu, so I asked if they would allow freestyle, which they did. My plate (pictured) arrived in about 2 minutes, and was perfect. Less than a tenner including the coffee, cannot go wrong.

While looking for where to eat in Oban , I saw that this establishment had only very good reviews. It's 4 km from the city but it's definitely worth it. Nice little place where we ate really well away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I highly recommend it and what's more, the team is very nice

A very warm and friendly welcome from Kim. Great choice of homemade dishes, she told us the favourites and explained why they were so popular. Three had the Thai Chicken curry, big chilli hit, but delicious. One had the award winning burger, meaty and with a spicy chilli jam, again delicious. I had the slow cooked steak pie, fantastic and lots of gravy! Generous portions at very reasonable prices. Brilliant atmosphere, karaoke started around 9:30,popular with regulars. Cash preferred to pay for food, pay separately for drinks at the bar. Very good selection of soft drinks, for drivers! Spotlessly clean. Parking a little tricky, arrive a bit early. Definitely a place to visit again.

Got here early afternoon, the sun was shining and the selection of drinks is great. Took me a while to find the entrance (before drinking) but once I was in the staff were super friendly.

You aren't able to access 90% of the house but the garden is well worth the visit.

we stopped for lunch on Saturday and the food was outstanding. We eat out a lot and thought we would give the place a try... I had panfried skate with tenderstem brocolli, sliced new potatoes and a veloute of mussels. It was superb as was the slow roated belly of pork with plenty of crackling and the cumberland sausage with creamy mash. We will defininitly return as soon as possible. Best meals we have had for months! Pudds was lovely and prices were reasonable. Service was excellent too!

Definitely the best in Penzance and certainly west Cornwall. Lovely people.

Being a dog owner we regularly use Google reviews to check if dogs are allowed in, especially when we are visiting an area for the first time. We therefore checked The Riverbank out and saw, in the Gemini generated summary as well as several reviews ( one 2 months ago) that it was dog friendly. On turning up earlier today we noted a 'no dogs' sign on the door so I popped upstairs to check....and apparently the answer is 'it depends!', ie whether busy, how they feel on the day. This is completely unhelpful to customers as it either is, or isn't and should be up front about this. If you let dogs in it will appear in your reviews! Anyway your loss and another cafes gain as there are other lovely dog friendly places in the town (Lime Bothy, Belted Galloway) so I'd suggest you take your business elsewhere if you have a dog.
