The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

We caught the first ferry (turn up early, the ferry takes 12 people) and did the 2.x mile walk to the Bunkhouse for coffee and cake. Great cake… we had one of everything and the Rhubarb and Custard cake scored highly in our family. Filter coffee too. With a brisk walk we managed to make it back for the 1230 ferry. The ferry stops between 1230-1400 for lunch. For those with small kids, you could take a buggy - road is generally good but some bits are gravel track. The sun was out and Kerrera is stunning. Would highly recommend.

Always a favourite stop when we are driving north towards Tyndrum. On this visit we enjoyed scones and coffee/tea, but we've previously had nice lunches here too. The staff are really pleasant.

The restaurant was pretty average, the service a bit of a letdown. 3 of our 4 main nears arrived at the same time the 4th was another 5 minute wait. The same with our desserts, when 2 arrived, and again a 3 or 4 minute wait for the other 2. To top it off our teas and coffees arrived just as we had started our desserts. I had a nice curry, my wife's beef was tough.

Great pizza!!! Don't bother with any other fast food pizza places. The food here beats them all. Delicious, authentic, freshly made pizza.

We've enjoyed a tasty lunch following a lovely spa morning. Spa clean and welcoming, express facials were lovely, bonus for being able to have treatment in same room as my daughter. Lunch was delicious, freshly cooked and full of flavour. We did find it very cold in the restaurant, only 2 other diners in there at the time, possibly air con on but regardless we did enjoy and will be back!

Lovely wee family runned coffee shop. Tasty & fresh prepared food for cheap, class value for money. We'll defo be back next time we're in Berwick :)

What a lovely place for breakfast! The staff were really friendly and the coffee and bacon sandwich was yummy. There's quite a lot of choice in Orpington for breakfast, but I will definitely be going back to The Bakehouse. Great atmosphere and really clean. The coffee was served hot and was very tasty. The prices are really good too!

Found this little gem on the internet. Fantastic pub, foor was amazing and the staff super friendly. Mike the landlord is very friendly. Our dog was also spoiled by the locals with dog treats. Cider pub vitrd 2024. Well worth a visit.

Can't recommend this highly enough. We popped in for lunch one day and went back for breakfast the next. Great choice on the menu and all freshly cooked. Lovely warm and friendly welcome - not only from the staff but from other customers (mostly local I think). Oh and the view is flippin' gorgeous as well!

We went there a couple of weeks ago and must apologise for taking so long to post a review. We went there with our son & his wife. The meal was delicious, no other word for it. The staff were welcoming, very friendly & helpful. The meal was very reasonably priced. We have tried lots of eating places around the area when we visit our family and we would certainly go back to this one.

The two of us and the dog cannot fault the place. We had the ravioli- both types and it was lovely. The service was friendly and quick.

I had a private booking for my baby shower and it was lovely. We had the place to ourselves while we enjoyed afternoon tea. So reasonably priced, staff were always on hand to serve and the food was lovely. The place is so beautifully decorated that there was no need to bring my own decorations. From initial email enquiry to the day, Julie was so friendly and accommodating. Thanks for a great afternoon 💖

Erinn and I really enjoyed our first visit to the Horse Shoe. Nothing was too much trouble, despite the landlady and her staff being rushed off their feet. The roast beef Easter lunch was wonderful as were our puds. Will definitely visit again.

We stayed here Saturday night had an excellent Steak pie and Chips,the drinks were very reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and courteous nothing seemed too much trouble for them. One of best breakfasts we've had in the morning Alison was a excellent landlady.
