The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

A party of 17 attended who had various meals. Found service slightly a bit slow but put it down to numbers of clientel. I did not have a starter as nothing was on the menu that I liked the look of. Main was flat iron steak. Was a bit tough. Noticed there was only one toilet for everybody. Not what you can call hygienic.

Have to be honest, not a massive fan of the concept of small plates but the food quality was mind blowing at a pretty reasonable price too. Also dog friendly.

We were directed here from a sales person in St Ives he told these were the best pasties in Cornwall It didn't disappoint

A fantastic find a stones throw from the A38. Excellent homemade great value pub grub with friendly staff. Would very much recommend to break up a journey! The pie was fantastic! Will go again!

A truly excellent Hake and chips for a very nice price of £8.60. Great value these days! I did mean to take a picture but forgot the moment I started shovelling it in my mouth. Tasty chips, perfectly cooked and not floury or dry. Fish, thick and flaky with a great flavour and not swimming in grease. I definitely recommend this place

Wow .. We just dropped in for fish and chips, and they were amazing ! We ate in, it's very cosy and friendly ! We chose the meal deal for just £9 . Great size cod, chips and peas. All beautifully, freshly cooked. The cod was perfectly cooked in light crispy batter. The chips were lovely and crunchy and the mushy peas were yummy with just right level of salt.. best in the area in my opinion. Lovely, friendly and always very warm and welcoming. Thankyou so much We'll see you again soon .

Great breakfast. All homemade by one chef, Been coming here for years and never once had anything to moan about. If you're in Brighton and want a solid breakfast or lunch in an Old school cafe, this is the place.

Wandered in here planning to grab a coffee and was so impressed by the menu and service we stayed for dinner. Superb smashed burgers but the rest of the menu offered enough choice to satisfy everyone and yet was limited enough for the chefs to do everything really, really well. Offered gluten-free bun. Really friendly and helpful service; superb food.

Visited with a friend’s recommendation and ordered a latte to-go. The first sip blew me away—the foam on top was incredibly velvety and rich! Definitely coming back to try more next time. 😋

Came here for lunch with my husband and had the best mushroom stroganoff I've ever had! It was delicious! The staff here are lovely and it has a great relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Feel very lucky to have such a fab place like Figaro on our doorstep.

The food is amazing here highly recommend it. In fact I've gone two days in a row before it's that good! Haha Top recommendations that's I have had - Chicken chunks Fish and chips The sausages, are by far the best sausages I've ever eaten in any chip shop. We booked Sherry and her team to cater for our parents funeral in April 2025. They provided their catering service at a separate venue to the Old Farm House tea rooms… and catered for 200 people. After booking their service we visited the tea rooms and discussed what food we would like included in the buffet. They were happy to cater for our requests, and some of my parents old favourites were made and placed amongst the buffet. The food and presentation were wonderful, we had lots of comments from people attending about the quality of the food, with several people saying it was the best buffet they had tasted….. From a personal point of view Sherry was excellent and we did not need to worry about anything on the day or the lead up to it. Thank you so much for being part of the wonderful send off for our parents.

Super cheese burgers! Excellent food in general. Full English breakfast is highly recommended. Great service.
