The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

The most expensive greasy spoon ive had the misfortune of visiting, i have eaten in many places around the world with many great reviews, but this was something else, I entered the establishment and was placed with my partner at a table big enough for one or a family of borrowers. Very pretentious and had the privilege of paying ten pounds for a fry consisting of 1 piece of potato bread 1 quarter slice of soda 2 sausages, bacon, 2 poached eggs and the ass end of a tomato which wasnt edible, my wife's meal was served on a dirty wooden chopping board, and had the experience of the north wind blowing through the door due to no extractor fan in the kitchen, temperature outside was 6 degrees. Tea was served in a kids play set at 3.50 per cup. To finish off i had the deep joy of waiting to pay as the gent who runs the cafe was trying to be funny with three ladies, needless to say I will not return.

Lovely evening. The food was great. The service was warm, friendly, welcoming and non-pretentious. Thanks very much to all!

The food was perfect, the staff were lovely, we all sat in and the waitress went above and beyond, my favourite fish and chip shop won’t be going anywhere else .

Nice location with the restaurant in the grounds of a pottery. Very good food with a largely vegetarian/vegan menu but some limited meat options. Gets very busy on a weekend so a bit of a wait for food but worth it

A return visit to Memories, and we were so pleased to find it as wonderful as we remember. Naomi is perfect as ‘front of house’ and Brett’s culinary skills are inspiring. Amazing value, and amazing food. We can’t wait to visit again

Last weekend, we were recommended to try Vanilli’s Artisan 🍨at Harrogate– and it was incredible! We tried the Oreo & Vanilla and the Salted Caramel & Belgian Chocolate – which really amazed me because the combination of rich Belgian chocolate and sweet-salty caramel was magic. They also have dairy-free options, soya, coconut, sorbet.🍧 Vanilli’s is tucked away in a quiet corner, it’s a hidden gem you’ll want to find. Get there early though , especially on the European Artisanal Gelato Day on 24 March– flavours sell out fast! By fishenjoylife

A superb jewel in Newark, amazing food and wine. Food can be seen being prepared, lovely ambience, great selection of wines too. Super service, would definitely recommend.

We ordered food for delivery and it was delicious. Portions are very generous and the food is seasoned to perfection. We had pork gyros and the pork was so tender. Don’t sleep on this little gem, the food is amazing!

Being local, we've been many times to Scott's Bistro, and it's just superb. Consistently good, high quality, freshly cooked food. Great selection of drinks and the service is exceptional. Our go-to place for a meal out. Highly recommended.

Amazing cocktails and outstanding service

Had a long drive over the mountains and got detoured while there was still storm damage to clear. Came across this beautiful place which is everything needed for a comfy break. Gorgeously furnished and impeccable friendly service. The chocolate drink and BLT lunch were just amazing. Even the dog gets treats!

Definitely worth the very short detour. Lovely friendly cozy cafe. Good coffee - clean toilet.

We had a lovely meal here at the New Farm Restaurant, particularly the starters and mains. I would highly recommend. We didn't care for the puddings, but that was down to preference.
