First & Last in Waveney

What a truly fabulous old fashioned pub with very welcoming landlady Anni and her customers, especially Janet and Peter, when we joined in Quingo yesterday afternoon. It was thrilling to win the picture quiz. The room was warm and cosy due to its great wood burner stove. The complimentary sandwiches were an added bonus! Thank you so much for the welcome and will join you all again in the New Year.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch - the roast was amazing and we will defiantly be going back again.. thanks to Steve, Annie and the team

A place where the locals return despite the name The First and Last. I, as many others had more than one in this lovely public bar located in central Lowestoft, close to the only tower block in the area which I believe has fantastic drone like views. It certainly won't be the last time I visit and I hope to remember future visits and chat to more local Suffolk folk. Fantastic.

What a boozer!! Terrific place, friendly people, great beer and service. I didn't want to leave, next time I'm in Lowestoft I'm going to be a regular!!

Since becoming dog owners we have found that visiting many of our normal dining haunts has become rather more complicated, so we make a lot of use of the ‘dog friendly’ filter on TripAdvisor. Despite this the welcome one receives when turning up with a dog is very variable, ranging from ‘dogs just about tolerated’ right through to ‘dogs welcomed with open arms and well catered for’. The First and Last was very much in the latter category. On arriving for Sunday lunch we were very pleased to see that they featured a special ‘doggy dinner’ as well as the more traditional Sunday offerings. The meal we were served was truly excellent, as was the aforesaid doggy dinner which was superb, and kept our hairy companion entertained for the duration of our own meal. Everything was very well prepared and presented. The portions were very generous. My wife actually had a children’s meal which was more than enough for her, whilst I struggled and failed to finish the adult serving. This is a place for bit appetites! The staff were extremely friendly, and at the end of our meal the Landlady came over to meet our dog and have a very pleasant chat with us. We were made to feel very welcome throughout and this will become somewhere that we will certainly visit again frequently.

Friendly and lovely food....even bought a doggie food which she loved,I would highly recommend this pub, so anyone coming to Lowestoft please visit, you will not get better...so so great...x staff and management excellent so so friendly....

Sunday lunch was lovely... Staff so friendly.. Could not do enough... Chef came and asked us if there was any vegetables we didn't eat.. We said no pile it on... And they did... And for afters I had lemon meringue sundae.. And col had chocolate brownie with pouring cream... Yum... Seriously if you out that way... Go eat there... Lovely food and lovely friendly staff xxx

First Time Been To First & Last Pub in Lowestoft - Lady From The Bar Politely Said Choice Of Roast Lamb, Chicken,Beef - When We Were Taken To Table,Was A Short Wait & The Food Came Out Pipping Out Hot - Have A Choice Of A Adult Or A Smaller Meal - Worth The Visit - I Personally Advise Booking in Ahead Because Of Being Really Busy Especially On A Sunday's.

This has to best one of the best pubs we've visited, we where made to feel so welcome by staff and customers the atmosphere was great and all the locals where really friendly we will definitely be back here for a visit. Thank you

Absolutely great pub. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Steve and Annii (landlords) and other staff members make everyone welcome and provide the best service. Weekends are fun and really enjoyable and there is never any trouble. Oh and their homemade Sunday lunches are to die for. I cannot recommend this place more highly. I wish I could give them more stars.

We had my grandads wake here and it was all very last min food arrangements. And I couldn’t of asked for anything quicker or better! Lovely spread

Great local pub with good atmosphere, has local bands on most weekends and has some unusual decor all in keeping with a traditional English pub. Great staff and quick service with cheap prices and served with a smile. A good place to visit if you are in sunny Suffolk.

Lovely food in a friendly atmosphere. The staff are wonderful & can't do enough for you. Karaoke nights are good & you're encouraged to take part.

This is my (chosen) local. The staff are wonderful & very welcoming. After moving here from Essex i have made lots of new friends thanks to this wonderful place.

He pasado muchas noches aquí después de mudarnos a Lowestoft y sabiendo nadie.Pronto me hicieron un montón de nuevos amigos y nunca lamentarás mover tan grande ahora.Mi hija cumplió con su prometida aquí y ahora están esperando su primer bebé en febrero.Annii y Steve (los propietarios) son tan encantador y acogedor.Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar.

Con gente.... Mi favorito nunca noche, mucho ambiente. Se celebra noches de karaoke y hay siempre algo para disfrutar.

Como no soy de por aquí originalmente elegí este pub a ser mi representante. El ambiente es fantástico y el personal es genial. Tengo familia y amigos se alojan a veces, me he llevado allí y ahora les piden a volver cuando están aquí.

This is a lovely traditional pub happy hour during the week with all the sport shown... Staff very friendly and landlord/landlady very nice👍👍👍👍👍
