Super star for this restaurant, yummy food, relaxing atmosphere and wonderful sake! Highly recommended!

Has been a favorite of mine and my partner's for a year now. Every time the food is served fast and is exceptional. The staff are lovely, and the atmosphere is soothing and comfortable. Only wish I had more money to splurge here!

Little bit of a mix review.. we turned up only to be told no walk ins, the guy on the door was a little rude and more interested in chatting to a table of females. So I went online and made a reservation for 10 minutes later.. imagine his shock when we turned back up. He didnt look happy. Thankfully he wasnt our waiter and the young lad we got was really nice and friendly. He then announced as we were sat ina quiet area that more walk ins would be here soon to fill the place up! The food was nice (but the lobster mac and cheese is quite salty). I had a Non alcoholic cocktail and it was fab. Its not a cheap place but its decent.

Eat there yesterday and was served by Elzo. The service, food and atmosphere were outstanding. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Great place for a quick laid back lunch. It's no frills but I like that. Had the 3 meat rice bowl. Very authentic Chinese food. Light and pretty healthy, just meat rice and veg. If you don't like meat on the bone you can make a request for no bones.

Nuestra experiencia en este restaurante fue frustrante de principio a fin. Al entrar estábamos atrapados sentados en nuestros abrigos ya que la puerta permanecía permanentemente abierta a pesar de que era febrero. Esperamos 45 minutos por nuestra comida, sólo para ver a otros que llegaron después de que nos sirvieran, aunque muchos de sus platos fueron devueltos debido a errores o tenían lados que aparecían mucho después de que la red hubiera terminado. Cuando finalmente preguntamos por nuestro pedido, hubo una búsqueda frenética de nuestro boleto, solo para que nos dijeran que se había perdido y que nuestra comida ni siquiera se había iniciado y tomaría otros 30 minutos. En ese momento, nos hubiéramos ido, pero teníamos una película reservada en 45 minutos y no tuvimos más remedio que esperar. Incluso después de que confirmé nuestro pedido completo, todavía faltaba un plato principal cuando llegó la comida. Compartimos nuestro plato principal y nos sentimos aliviados de tener que pasar por uno solo debido a la falta de sabor. Para empeorar las cosas, no había un gerente de turno, por lo que nos dijeron que no se podía hacer nada al respecto. La falta de liderazgo era evidente. La zona de labranza estaba llena de platos sucios, reflejando el caos de la noche. Esta fue nuestra primera noche juntos después de un mes separados y fue completamente arruinado por nuestra experiencia aquí.

Fantastic Chinese food and great customer service. We had the lunch menu but all I can say is that the windows need cleaning.

The restaurant is a little shabby but the food is outstanding. We arrived 45 minutes before they closed so were told we could only choose main dishes. They gave us 2 separate menus - one of the "Anglicised" usual Chinese dishes that you'd expect to see; the other contained traditional Hong Kong dishes. We ordered from the latter & then discovered that the portions were huge! We had tomato & egg; lotus root, potato & sticky rice cakes in sizzling spicy pot then king prawns in a Typhoon Shelter sauce. Stunning. Can't wait to go back.

1 star Wouldn’t recommend – Read before booking! I WOULD GIVE -1 if I could ! If you’re planning a special night out or a group booking avoid ABOVE at all costs. We booked for a birthday party of 15 people, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was awful. Anna, who handled our booking, was rude and completely unhelpful on the day. On top of that, a “manager” (a tall, bigger man with long dark hair) was even worse unpleasant, arrogant, and disrespectful. We were promised certain things in advance, but NONE of them were delivered. If you do decide to book, make sure everything is confirmed in writing don’t trust a single word over the phone. The email communication was poor, and calls were made because of their lack of clarity, but even then, nothing was honoured on the day. It’s clear that this venue can’t handle large groups. If you can’t cater to them properly, don’t take people’s money and then treat them like they’re stupid. To make matters worse, when my partner walked me to the hotel next door around 10pm and came back, he was refused entry by security, supposedly because he “argued with the manager” earlier. There was no argument , just valid questions raised about the many issues with the booking. It felt like we were being punished for expecting basic service. Then around 6 security staff was called down. So over the top. Get professional people to handle the door and management not kids on steroids that can’t handle they work!! The staff are clearly inexperienced, lack professionalism, and couldn’t care less. The manager is stuck up and completely unapproachable. There are plenty of better places in Newcastle that actually care about customer service and value your money. ABOVE was a disappointing and unpleasant experience. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere that respects its guests. Would never return. Avoid.

Had the special takeaway and it was lovely

Visité con mi madre y me sorprendió lo ocupado que estaba este lugar. La comida es realmente tan fresca y deliciosa. Poder agregar tu propia pasta de chile y ajo encurtido significaba que podíamos personalizar fácilmente las sopas de fideos. Eryc que nos sirvió fue muy agradable y muy paciente.

Acabamos de recibir una entrega esta noche y es la primera vez que hacemos un pedido de ustedes, la comida fue absolutamente tremenda. A mi compañero no le gusta tanto la comida india y demolió el plato. Volveré a ordenar. ¡Gracias!

Larga cola esperando a que me atendieran lo que me hizo pensar que este lugar sería fantástico. Pronto me di cuenta de que la cola es porque sirven extremadamente lento. Había alrededor de 4 parejas / familias en frente y estábamos esperando más de media hora para llegar al frente de la cola. Entonces tienes que esperar la comida. Nos sentamos y esperamos otros 25 minutos para que dijeran que nuestra comida estaba lista. Fue nuestra primera visita, así que para la comida rápida no fue muy rápido en absoluto. Compramos base, con carne y salsa, así que nos sorprendió enormemente encontrar que toda la comida se mezcló en realidad no se colocó en la parte superior de la base. Mi hija tenía arroz y el suyo era como papilla. No parecía muy apetitoso en absoluto. Para decir que agregas una salsa deben poner el poco más pequeño de salsa ya que solo se podía saborear un ligero sabor. Solo tenía unos 4 trozos pequeños de carne también. Costó £ 22 por 2 comidas y no fue nada agradable. No volveremos de nuevo, absolutamente pérdida de tiempo y dinero.
