Es justo decir que cuando visitamos un sábado por la tarde, la diversión de fin de semana estaba muy avanzada! El servicio fue rápido, amable y sin fallas y la comida era tan buena como siempre. Sabes lo que obtienes con un alquimista y este nunca decepciona.

What a fantastic experience! The team was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, which really enhanced our time. The food and drinks were top-notch—everything tasted exactly as I expected, and the presentation was spot on. I especially loved the Bacon Pancakes and ultimate hot chocolate! Clean, vibrant atmosphere, and incredible value for money make this spot a must-visit.

We went here in the summer and the food was 10/10. A bit on the pricier side but definitely worth it in our opinion! I had the duck starter as a main course and it was delicious, my boyfriend said the calamari starter is the best he’s ever had. Nice music playing and it wasn’t super busy as we went for lunch.

I was blown away by my visit! The service was top-notch, thanks to Sarah, who really went above and beyond—she made us feel so special. The food was out of this world, and I can't stop raving about the incredible dry ice experience; it added such a cool touch! Even the Earl Grey tea surprised me; it was the best I've ever had, smelling divine. Everything from the atmosphere to the cleanliness was spot on—can't wait to return!

Overpriced meal came with no sides (charged extra). Optional tip added to bill total and made to look like this was your actual total.

We only popped in for a drink, as I've been into a London branch I knew what to expect. Everything is 10/10 never had a bad drink in an alchemist, worth every penny, absolutely delicious and more importantly no headache in the morning (don't know how but very impressive)

Lovely cocktails with professional bartenders making them. The bartender explained some things about the cocktails we ordered, which was a lovely gesture. Good atmosphere as well!

I always enjoy a trip to The Alchemist. It's also a birthday tradition to grab a smokey old fashioned or two. The staff are friendly, professional, and very skilled. There's no way I could learn to make all the drinks and I'm always impressed when watching them work. The food is always delicious and well presented too. I'm adore the low lighting as it sets a nice and calming atmosphere. Never had a bad experience out of the many times I've been there. Can't recommend it enough.

I cannot complain. We were served by the bar manager who was so nice and made really excellent drinks. It was a lovely atmosphere and a very nice bar. Music was a bit loud so make sure you are in a party mood🌟🌟There was also a DJ which is so cool. Big up my friends at the Newcastle Alchemist😌🤩

Great visit, friendly staff and excellent cocktails and food.

This may be a good place to go for normal food and drink but I wouldn’t recommend the bottomless brunch. The rule you can only have one drink at a time is fine and implemented in quite a few restaurants but when trying to order our second drink we were told we all had to finish our drinks before we could re-order. As the rest of the group were drinking cocktails in a small glass and mine in a long I had only half finished. I then had to down the remainder to the point I felt sick just so they would serve the rest of the group. Also the only drink apart from Prosecco is cocktails so when all having to order together it was taking some time for the waitress to return with our drinks as making cocktails can be timely, meaning we were all sitting without drinks a lot of the time. I have been for many bottomless brunches where the drinks are flowing but it wasn’t the case here unfortunately. There was a service charge of £12 added to our bill. When making the booking I asked for the cost and was not made aware of this.

Was quiet when we went. Food was gorgeous and the waitress was good.

Waited over half an hour for someone to take an order, which didn’t even happen, makes it even worse that it was our anniversary and didn’t even get a drinks order baring in mind the place was not busy and walk ins were served before a booking. Very poor service.

Marking this down due to bar charges, love going here as it's a show and drinks but prices already reflect this, no need for extra charge 😒 not sure I'll be back

Hadn't booked but they managed to find us a table. Love their signature cocktails especially the Dead Red Zombie 👌 Food was good and didn't take too long to arrive. Nice touch that they've partnered with a homeless charity and put an optional £1 on each bill for that.

Real friendly staff. Barman recommended a lovely whiskey. Some of Thier drinks are fancy & come in a variety of quirky glasses. Nice atmosphere.

Nice place but drinks are pricey bar staff were very helpful in choice for what to have,big bar and separate dining area it was quiet on a rainy Thursday afternoon.

If you know what you're ordering, it's a spectacular experience. If you don't it can be a bit underwhelming. Best to sit at the bar to see some of the flame / smoke / bubble effects as it's made. Lots of ooh factor! There's food and a decent selection of beers available too and the food looks nice, but the attraction is very much on the cocktails.

Emma was the lovelies, most friendliest bar tender. Told me exactly what I would like and it was lovely!

Staff are always Great. So friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.

Massive compliments to the staff who were knowledgeable and brilliant their jobs. Had some unwanted attention from another customer and they were so responsible in diverting his attention away and keeping female customers safe. Felt very looked after and safe. Can't recommend this venue highly enough for female customers.

Quick lunch at the alchemist, we got a few sharer plates which were good, the only thing was there wasn't much duck to go on the pancakes. Really friendly service and nhs discount which was a bonus!

Best place for drinks in Newcastle, bar staff really know their craft, its a little pricy but well worth it.

Toda la comida sabía igual, sobre especiada... solo una persona terminó el plato principal de 12 de nosotros... Y los cócteles de £ 11 + cada uno eran viles, no sabía como un cóctel adecuado de las descripciones. No estoy seguro de quién estuvo en las tareas de cóctel ayer, pero realmente necesitan un poco de habilidad sobre cómo hacerlos. Nos fuimos muy decepcionados y todos dijimos que no volveríamos con el alquimista.

Super fun cocktails. Unfortunately my son was allowed. (Due to English law) no dry ice in his non alcoholic cocktail, but that was fine. Nice one named A.J. Nice meal. Chicken in a basket 👍🏾 and a "more luxurious" fish & chips.

What a fantastic evening! The food was incredible, especially the Bacon Pancakes, which were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The drinks were spot on too; the Screwball was a great size and tasted just as I hoped. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making the whole experience really enjoyable. I’ve already recommended it to my friends and can’t wait to return!

We came here last night on a whim as we have heard about this place but have never been. We went through the drinks menu and based our choices based off what drink looked the coolest, it was so fun! The guy who served us at the table was lovely and polite. Getting the drinks out was a lot quicker than I imagined it would be due to the complexity of the drinks. The actual drinks, aside from how cool they look, tasted lovely with the perfect balance of alcohol as someone who doesn’t like strong drinks. The music in there was spot on, good up to date songs but with a slight twist on the beat. I can’t describe it but I really want that playlist! In terms of atmosphere- yes it wasn’t packed, but I much prefer it that way. The staff behind the bar were all having fun laughing and joking with each, dancing with each other which added to the atmosphere and I loved to see it.

Was there for breakfast. As always food was great. Staff was very friendly as always but they now charge an automatic 10% service charge and that's unacceptable. It's already pricey (but on the top range of acceptable as lovely food) there is no need to add this charge, I'm there to pay for food/drink which is brought to me from literally 4yards away. I'm not there to pay the staff's wage. Will think twice about going back now.

We decided we loved this place summer 24. Second visit was amazing. I tried the salad with the cauliflower bites-excellent. The restaurant week menu was great value. Husband loved the burger and calamari.

I'm gutted I did t take any photos as the food looked as sensational as it tasted. We had the rump steak cooked medium rare and the chicken in a basket with the baked mushrooms on the side. All of it was cooked perfectly and tasted unreal. The server was super friendly and attentive. We happily paid the 10% service charge and added an extra 10% on top. I'll be remembering our experience here for a long time.

Great service but sizes of the meals were tiny. The 'smoking board' had 4 tiny wraps (kid sizes) with 4 /5 pieces of pork and a little bit of onion and that was it. For £17 you shouldn't be walking out still hungry. The chicken flatbread was a child meal portion and again was stil hungry after. It is probably a good place for nibbles but not a decent meal. Came to £60 and went to greggs after.

The dining experience at this place for the price is fantastic. £70 for 5 people before 10% tip is unbelievable for the quality or service, atmosphere and most importantly food. The food was amazing and the salt and pepper fries especially are literally to die for! Even the house fries are the best fries I've ever tasted. I got the vegan burger and it was incredible. My sister got a loaded flatbread, a side or fries and a side of crispy mushrooms which I even liked despite hating mushrooms for only £15. Our waiter was very nice and provided excellent service. Would definitely go again.

Love the cocktails, there’s so many options to choose from and they’re very creative; with one coming with a tongue and another changing colour. The food was good and fast (especially as it was busy), the staff were attentive and made sure we always had any drinks or food we asked for! Definitely going back

We have passed here many times but for some reason never gone in. Really liked the menu offered vegetarian food, not tasteless vegan Only options. Great cocktails too. A new favourite place to eat!

My second time in this fun restaurant in the middle of Newcastle. Also this time a really friendly and knowledgeable waiter. I had a Spanish dessert that was really good.

Only ever really been in for drinks but today I Popped in for a bit of lunch to get out of the heat and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much, but was absolutely blown away with how nice the food was.. granted it’s only a duck salad, but it was probably the best I’ve ever had, prawn lollipops were 10/10 and the truffle tots were also a solid 10/10! Will definitely be back to try more

Please come here! This place is almost magical with the vibe and the music. The decor is quite gothic and mysterious adding to the vibe here. The cocktails are fantastic! So much choice and with some of them there are freebies, such as a hip flask that can be refilled for a cheaper price. Such an interesting place that it is more like potions than average drinks. It is expensive here but I think worth it for what you experience. Highly recommend a visit and I will be sure to come back!

Lovely halloumi wrap and salad with avocado as an extra. My partner got the dip-steak sandwich with fries which he said was really tasty. We did laugh though that he ordered Applewood Cheese as an extra and it was literally one cheese slice 😂 staff were nice and friendly

Had a lunchtime meal here recently. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Very caring, unrushed service. Good range of drinks on the menu (my soft drink was delicious). Slightly more restricted food menu, but appeared to cover most tastes. Well presented and cooked food,(the chef slightly altered the cooking of my chosen dish to account for my (medical) dietary requirements). Only criticism both my companion and I had was that the chips were too heavily salted.

The Alchemist is a really interesting and friendly restaurant/bar 🤩Near Grey's monument, but inside Eldon square it is very easy to get to. Very friendly waiter, giving us great cocktails and tasty food😋

Had an amazing family meal service 100% food 100% atmosphere superb highly recommended we will be back very soon best burger ever by far our table staff were tremendous as was a very busy evening with england lionesses playing and girls aloud at the arena but got table straight away can not fault it one bit absolutely amazing from start to finish well deserved to all very friendly staff too

Absolutely superb, ordered an espresso martini and it was probably one of the best I've ever had. Special mention to Faye who made it very quickly and with a lot of charm.

The service was really slow. After we ordered we were sat for 30 minutes waiting just for our drink. The food took even longer and we were considering leaving. Just before we got up the food arrived. The food was ok, definitely not worth the wait though. I ordered a cheese burger and it was tiny. Still left the venue hungry and this was after having a starter and a main. Ended up having a few cocktails and one of them was in this bong called ' the legal one'. Little did I know that on the end of this bong is a plastic cap which I realize is to allow you to drink from it. Well, it was loose and the drink spurted around the outside completely soaking my jeans and top. After spending the next 20 minutes under the dryer in the toilet, somebody else came in funny enough commenting how the exact same thing happened to them earlier. Staff were friendly enough but there was times where they walked past loads or cleaned tables next to us but we just could not get their attention which made the whole experience somewhat frustrating. As a result I asked for the service charge to be removed off the bill as I did not feel the service was good enough to warrant a tip. Going forward I would advise staff to be more attentive and aware of customers waiting to order drinks / food.

Amazing service from the team at The Alchemist in Newcastle. Visited with friends on a weekend away as one of us had a voucher - we had hoped to get some drinks and food, but as I have dietary requirements, we were unsure what options would be available. Our server asked for management support, and between the two of them were able to talk us through the menu and offer to amend some of the dishes. They were so thorough and we ended up having a fantastic meal and delicious cocktails. We were so looked after, I would have no problem recommending to friends and will be back!

Loved the setting but as it got busier the service deteriorated. The service charge far exceeded the service. We spent £80 and the service charge was £12.20. I’ve been for better bottomless brunches and not had to pay a service charge. I enjoyed the experience but will not return

Came for birthday drinks and it was amazing, food was good and drinks were good and our server LIV was absolutely amazing she kept checking we were okay and every-time one of us were thinking about getting another drink she was there. Would 100% recommend and liv is the absolute best!

Went in for drinks on a Saturday night. Cocktails where amazing and the atmosphere was really good. There was a DJ in the bar area. The staff where friendly and very helpful so where the door staff.

Popped in for a Saturday afternoon for a bite to eat before meeting friends. Yakitori chicken was really tasty and well presented as was the Ribeye steak. Expresso Martini was excellent, service from Dayna was brilliant. Thankyou
