First time dining at Shish Mahal and I was impressed with both the service and the food. The waiter when made aware of my dislike of dairy made sure that my food was dairy free. The portion of food was good and the food was delicious. I'd definitely return when next time in the area.

Ordered a takeaway from here took over 2 hours and 3 phone calls to arrive, after arriving the chicken chow mein was bland and hardly any chicken was in it and the chicken that was in it was not cooked in a wok it was pure white taste of nothing so I assume that this was out of a frozen bag and microwaved and thrown in afterwards, the BBQ sauces at £2.50 a pot was only half full, been ordering here for a year but over last 5 month it has gone down hill food taste of nothing won't be ordering from here again

always get food from this place but this will definitely be the last. ordered a delivery at 17.30 specifically to arrive at 19.00 i got a call at 17.55 asking if he turned right or left to my apartment obviously he was close by so i said to him i’m sorry but i’m not at home and the food was ordered for 19.00.he hesitated and said ok. roll on 19.15 food arrives and guess what every single thing had to be out in microwave it was stone cold. the filo pastry chicken for starters we cldnt even heat up as the chicken had went hard.as for the rest of the food it was abs awfull. very very dissapointed for the fact that they kept the food probably under the heat holding lamp for an hour and sent it out again which is most certainly not within the law of catering. it’s abs disgusting what they have done and we definitely will not be getting from there again

My friends daughter was celebrating her 12th birthday and asked if she could go to oxy oriental. We arrived at 2.45 to be told there was hardly any food and to come back in 2 hours the person was downright rude and said you should have come earlier and shut the door on her even though there were people there eating. The children were mortified and upset as they had been bowling as part of the birthday treat earlier.we had to take them to Frankie and bennys instead which was way expensive and food choice wasn’t that good,it states that oxy oriental is open until 3.30pm. Would have thought they would have made sure enough food was cooked to last until the end of serving.it spoilt her 12th birthday as she was so looking forward to going there.. We won’t bother trying ever again

The worst Chinese food I've ever had. Very bad quality food. I couldn't eat most of it. I asked the waiter what they recommended and ordered a pork chop with rice dish and a drink. The drink was icy and had beans in it. The main meal was terrible, it seemed like pre-prepared egg fried rice with very fatty pork on top, and a sugary sweet and gloopy yellow sauce on top. It all tasted like it had been cooked way in advance. One table nearby that I started a conversation casually before eating asked the waiter what the dish contained when it arrived and she said she didn't know. She invited the manager over who told the people near me it was not cheese but a not spicy curry but couldn't give details about the ingredients. It gave me the impression they didn't even know what it was made of. It was so bad I couldn't eat most of it and couldn't finish my drink either. I spent just over 22 pounds on what appeared to be preprepared or microwaved food of very low quality. Chinatown is a tourist trap in my view, the restaurants here invest most of their money in rent and not much money in food quality and amount.
