The food was absolutely atrocious. I ordered the duck soup, the pieces of duck were just bones and fat. Would definitely avoid this restaurant, the dishes are pricey and just not enjoyable

Reasonable food, reasonable price, but mediocre service. Got charged for 2 beers we never had. My group was there until closing, so maybe an honest mistake as they were trying to close up. But other reviews cite similar issues with billing - be sure to double check yours....

Great place for dim sum and noodles. Love the black tea as well! Will come again!

Delicious food, delicious duck, although for dinner for 2 people and tea you have to be prepared to spend around 50-60 pounds. There is a rush, waiters are rushing as fast as they can because of the queue outside waiting for a table. The staff is very nice and helped me charge my phone. There is a toilet on site. I recommend this place.

We were seated quickly upon arrival, which was a good start. However, we were asked to add more items to reach a minimum spending amount per person, which wasn’t mentioned beforehand. The food arrived in a very staggered manner, with long waits between dishes, and we had to wait quite a while for the last plate to arrive. Then, as soon as we finished eating, we felt rushed to leave so they could give the table to someone else. Overall, the experience was not very pleasant due to the inconsistent service and pressure to order and leave quickly.

We had a very nice dinner here, all the places had long lines and the owner was inviting us to come in. We decided to trust it and were amazed. Very quick service and the food was delicious. Large portions too. Easy to share. Definitely worth a visit

Worst restaurant i have ever been. Food was tasteless. Im sure the waiter noticed but didn’t check on our table. Will not be coming back. Starters were okay. But if youre in that area i would recommend you get a big mac at McDonalds. Dont waste your money. And the waiter made me tip and i felt bad not too but honestly i regret every penny i spent.

Vaya taza de inodoro absoluto de un restaurante. Frío. Austero. Comida de calidad inferior servida fría. Fui allí para el almuerzo y quería la flexibilidad de un buffet. Se metió en una mesa en el halagador "restaurante" frío que era más como una extensión de cocina de 1960. Un tipo en la mesa a nuestro lado estaba comiendo directamente de su plato sin cubiertos. La comida era del tipo que no le daría de comer a mi perro. La próxima vez que tenga hambre mal comprar una bolsa de patatas fritas y sentarse en la cuneta bajo la lluvia y comer, ya que sería una mejor experiencia que entrar en esta absoluta cacería.

Almorzamos allí, buffet caliente (comer todo lo que puedas) , probamos otros buffets de la zona en el pasado y nos gustó este más por la variedad de comida. Sin duda volveremos a comer allí

The food was okay, but the portions in relation to the price, an absolute cheek. Excessively expensive even for London. Atmosphere like a train station toilet. The service tries to ensure quick processing: in, out, pay, go. Never ever again!!!

Very nice restaurant so far… I came there 4 times during my trips to London. Unfortunately, during my last visit, at Christmas time, the service was not at all the same! The waiters kept coming to clear things, giving the impression that we were in a hurry to finish to free the table. All this to make as much money as possible...

There are certain dishes that I did not enjoy but I’m sure it’s common to not like a few dishes out of a hundred. However, they have the BEST Fujian Fried Rice (福建炒饭) , and Braised Pork with Steamed Rice Cake (扣肉肠粉) and Kong Pao Chicken (宫保鸡丁）- very spicy. So with these 3 orders, you can feed at least 3-4 people. Average for these are 15 pounds per person. If you don’t know what to order, just order what I mentioned here. If you cannot eat spicy food, ignore Kong Pao Chicken and go for Braised Tofu with minced pork. Go get your food, now. Btw, don’t forget to order vegetables, go and order steamed cailan. We had dinner on 11/23; At the time of paying in the note itself they put a 12% tip, but when loading the card they added 10% more. EYE! with whatever they carry; I said it but it didn't matter. Total I paid a 22% tip. Be careful tourists!

Have dined here a few times over the years and it has been lovely. Sadly the last few times we’ve been we have encountered rude staff and poor standards of food which will mean we won’t return. The prices have increased dramatically too (nearly £20 for a small Bowl of curry or a plate of stir fried vegetables) and is extremely over priced for what you get. Our waitress was very rude and left us for a long time before ordering. Real shame in the decline in service as we have enjoyed nice meals here previously

Out of the 10 days of exploring UK foods, this was the best restaurant we visited. As Singaporeans, our taste buds didn’t fancy the subpar fish and chips or steaks served at English restaurants. The Roasted Duck 烧鸭 and Stir-Fried Beef Noodles, and the Prawn Dumplings (HaGao) were so flavourful and suited our Singaporean tastebuds perfectly. I would suggest you ignore the outrageously low-star rating on this restaurant (as of writing it’s 3.8 stars), and come visit!

Cosy atmosphere & walking frame accessible. Lovely attentive service. Food 10/10. Deserves higher reviews honestly. We had the crispy mushrooms, soft shell crab with oatmeal, roast duck & the braised beef brisket with rice. Everything was delicious!

Ate here after a full day on our feet walking round London. The service was incredible, the waiter was really friendly and gave us advice on what to order, and how big the portions would be. He even said not to order two portions of rice, as the one from the set meal for two would be big enough for the three of us. The beef and broccoli in black pepper sauce was honestly one of the nicest things I’ve ever tasted! It cost £125 for three people, with *loads* of food, we couldn’t complain. Would definitely eat here again, wonderful place.

Great Hong Kong style food and atmosphere! We ordered a variety of food and each dish was superb! My favourite was the sweet n sour pork ! Service is excellent and they are very attentive! Highly recommend

Food is very well presented. Most disappointed with the honey pork, should have been in a clear coating of a sauce, not black sauce coating. However taste alright. Friendly staff and a clean restaurant. ********************* Re-visited New Young Cheng. Improvement with the food. Service is excellent as always, staff kept your Chinese tea topped-up. No wet tissue/mint after meal though with 12.5% service charge included. Got charge extra on bill as price on menu does not match printed bill.

Avoid this place. I am not exaggerating when I say that this was the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The staff are lovely. But I think that I would be lovely if I was raking in money whilst ripping people off. Honestly, the worst!

The food was reasonable but the overall experience was let down by one dish being cold and another much later than the others. In fact the starters also didn't turn up together either. Not particularly attentive service either. Update: the restaurant replied asking me to contact them. I emailed and was ignored. Feels like they just wanted to be seen to listen when in reality they didn't.

I loved the chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce. The beef noodles and prawn dumplings were great! The service was very friendly and you have to try it!

Knew we wanted to eat in Chinatown but no idea where. Greeted by a friendly member of staff. No pressure when looking at the menu. Sat outside. Staff lovely and attentive but not intrusive. Food was amazing and great portions. Nothing too much trouble. Thank you all and would highly recommend.

Usine assez infâme! - inconfort des tables type gargote - personnel beuglant sans cesse au talkie du rdc à l'étage pour signaler les places qui se libèrent, suivi sur un écran - dame qui casse de la glace dans un sac avec fracas pendant 10 min Oubliez les toilettes puantes et les tas de vaisselles dans les caisses en plastiques etc. La nourriture du coup, bien miserable, peu variée, grasse etc. Le tout pour 40 € à 2 avec 2 canettes. Soirée ratée, mauvais souvenir.

Don’t let these 5 star reviews fool you, the food was terrible. The food was cold, the place is extremely cramped. They have an upstairs seating area but you literally have to go downstairs to get food then go up. The food had absolutely no flavour, spring rolls were HARD. Never knew you could go wrong with Jelly but somehow they did. Absolutely terrible, cold flavourless food. One of the members I came with asked if we could be seated downstairs as I have leg issues and they said no, despite there being no one seated there at the time. 0/10, would most definitely not go back and anyone who says the food was good, is lying horribly!

Myself, a friend and my girlfriend were on holiday in London and while walking through Chinatown we found this restaurant after many visits and it seemed excellent, both in terms of atmosphere and location. The restaurant is welcoming, clean and the waiters are friendly and courteous. The food was truly excellent, truly plentiful and full of flavour. I would stay here again on my next holiday in London. Highly recommended

been here so many times but always forget to do the review. firstly the people are so friendly even under pressure from being a very busy restaurant food is so tasty and portions are very generous indeed in probably the six times i have been its never been less than 100%. fully recommend this restaurant

The best chicken wings I have ever had! (Salt and pepper wings). The service was so friendly and attentive and all the dishes we tried were delicious. There was so much choice in China Town but I'm glad we chose here. I highly recommend a visit!

Wish we were in London longer, we’d be there every day. We will tell the Hotel Concierge how great the restaurant is, and hopefully they’ll direct more guests to your wonderful restaurant.

Food was average at best but worst of all my 16yr old the had won ton soup has been vomiting for the last 3 hours. All has eaten is a croissant for breakfast and this Chinese meal. He told me afterwards the the prawns were crunchy. Be careful what you order!

Traditional Chinese restaurant, located in said neighborhood of the city of London. It has a very diverse menu. Extra costs usually apply to the prices listed on the menu outside. The dishes are abundant and well prepared. I suggest accompanying the meals with the Chinese tea that they offer in a teapot.

Went for dinner with friends, overall the food was delicious and well portioned and staff were friendly. However the waitress serving our table gave average service, nothing bad but not great either such as reaching over right in front of you whilst still eating to clear plates without saying “excuse me” or the like. My friends didn’t want to pay the service charge, so after working out how we’d spilt the bill and paying for our food and drinks, the waitress claimed we had no choice but to pay the “gratuity” charge and said it was stated in the menu that 12.5% would be added to each bill. In the menu itself it clearly states that a “discretionary” gratuity charge is added to the bill, meaning it is not mandatory to pay it. Whilst I appreciate it is very common place in London for service charges to be added on and I’m usually happy to pay it, my friends didn’t want to pay it and we explained to the waitress that it’s not mandatory to pay it as stated in the menu. Eventually we ended up paying the charge but it is unethical and clearly a tourist trap to insist the service charge be paid. I have lived in London and worked in a pub and know you are not obliged to pay the service or “gratuity” charge. So beware and stand your ground

We ate here and were happy. The French beans spicy were really delicious. The shao mai were good and up to standard. All the other dim sums we ordered were also good. It is worth coming here. Service was great, our young waiter was friendly and helpful. Worth coming.

When you go pay the bill includes a 13% gratuity but the waiter will still insist you pay a large tip to them. I call that a scam and deserving of one star.

honestly the worst place to eat, the atmosphere was making me feel anxious because of how loud it was and i felt very uncomfortable, the food hygiene was not good i found a piece of hair in my food which was a big red flag for me 🚩, the service was alright i guess but i dont recommend it and i went home which a sick tummy!

This is a nice small eatery on the quieter side of London Chinatown. We ordered four dim sums between two of us. Quality was good. The standard quality bearer prawn dumplings were smaller than most, but delicious & fresh. The fact that it’s not standard size might also indicate that the dumplings were made in-house rather than bought. Shredded duck spring rolls were great. Skin a bit burnt but very moorish. Beef cheung fun & glutinous rice were not bad though there was no surprise. Just one snag is fillings in glutinous rice which can be a bit more generous. Service was good. Waiters were all professional, prompt & helpful. We weren’t shuffled a bill straight after we finish. My main criticism is probably deco. All seems a bit too plain & bland.

We had a fantastic meal here on Friday night and we will be back next week, the portions were large and everything was super tasty, we could not finish the crispy aromatic duck and we asked for it all to be delivered together which made it a quick and delicious meal! Fantastic experience

Food and portions in this restaurant were good. Although we wont be returning because we received the bill and requested politely to the waitress that we would like the OPTIONAL service charge removed as it was almost another £10.00 extra on top of the bill. She refused and said it states this on the menu and it is compulsory for you to pay so refused to remove it. Another member of staff intervened and told us the only place you do not pay service charge is McDonalds - oh please don't insult my intelligence - I am from the UK and very intelligent might I add!! We told them by law you do not need to pay this charge as this is optional but staff continually refused. We wont be returning.

Amazing restaurant for Chinese food lovers! The staff sit you down quick and orders don’t take long either. Food was excellent quality - I recommend the Beef noodles, peking duck rolls and the radish spring rolls. I enjoyed the food so much. I recommend this place if you visit China town.

**update** We finally got back although it was an entire year later! The place was just as good as I remember if not better! We tried a couple of different menu items this time 😍 amazing! We will be back nearer Christmas. Added another photo but it’s not as good as we just wanted to dive in and nearly forgot to take one 😁 Our first time trying this place on our trip to London. It was so good 😊 the flavours were good the staff were polite and friendly. This is going to be our go to place every time we visit London. Can’t wait to go back in a couple of months!

Lovely lunch spot in China town - have no complaints. The food was so fresh and light which left us with a nice feeling and not feeling heavy and bloated, even 6 pancakes down! The crispy aromatic duck pancakes were gorgeous and the mushroom chow mein was perfectly done. Highly recommend for a quiet lunch spot.

Had a wonderful meal here, really fast service, food was delicious & a vast selection of familiar dishes on the menu along with some house specials. Bit pricey (+12.5% tip auto added) but by the time we'd enjoyed our meal, we were happy to pay what we were charged. We ordered: Chow Mein, Chilli Green Beans, Satay Chicken, Crispy Pork Belly, Crispy Chilli Beef, Crispy Seaweed & Prawn Crackers. The chillis in the green beans were hard & inedible but they were easily avoided & everything else was perfect. Can't believe we didn't get any photos of our food but it all looked so fantastic, we just got cracking as soon as it arrived & didn't give it another thought! We ate outside so can't comment on atmosphere or cleanliness inside. Would definitely recommend & seek out this restaurant next time we're in the area.

I came here for the first time with my boyfriend,I have to say all the staff there was EXTREMELY friendly, one of the lovely lady gave us the mango dessert to try and it was THE BEST DESSERT I EVER HAD SO FAR. Besides it being very delicious it shocked us that the portion size was very big and worth it.

The food was ok, not particularly good or excessive. There's a different way to be sustainable, I don't think you have to use (Cola) cans in a restaurant. But what really bothered me was that someone from the service staff kept reaching over the table and the plates during the meal, for example to shake the stupid Coke can and see if it was empty and could be cleared away.

Superb food. I'm very happy. We were warned that not all Chinese restaurants serve the food we enjoy in Soho. Especially having lived in Malaysia for over 30 years. But wow, the food was amazing. It really hit the spot. We will certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Chinese meal.

Food was delicious and the service were really nice, I went with friends and they kindly set up the table outside. They added 12% service and there was transparency with the payment. We paid separately.

Tasty and reasonable portions. 3 stars given due to scummy and deceitful billing practices. We were brought our bill, which the server deliberately tried to hide from us, and presented with a card machine on the screen requesting a tip. We always tip 10% and despite the bill being a bit higher than I was expecting, we tipped 10%. I then asked the server for the copy of the bill she was holding and, after initially trying to walk away with it, she gave it to me revealing that a 12.5% gratuity had already been applied to the bill, and we had tipped an extra 10% on top when presented with the card machine. If you're going to add a 12.5% tip to your own bills, don't present card machines to customers that also ask for a tip while hiding this from them. Really scummy.

2nd visit to new young Cheng, service was perfect food was fantastic highly recommended egg fried rice was one of the best only downer was given the bill seconds after i eaten with my daughter apart from that it was very clean and like i mentioned food was outstanding

Visited here again after it has undergone renovation and serving personnel were too quick to request cash payment up front, before we had the opportunity to get our food. This was very bad practice from the management. Selection of food was very good ,lots of choices of meat dishes and veggie ones which were very freshly prepared. Buffet was £15.00 each
