Tasty food with two or three tasty vegan dishes! Quick friendly service!

We had an excellent meal and Ms. Eliz was very polite and helpful with the dishes. She explained everything and also let us adjust meals to our taste! We had Mae Goreng (spicy and mouth watering), jasmine rice, grilled chicken satay and exquisite spring rolls, crispy, light and tasty!

Was looked after really well by Yasin and all the staff. It’s always great to visit!

Had dinner here on a Sunday. It is very busy so better to make a reservation. We didn’t and we queued up and were seated in 1/2 hour. We had the table for an hour. Food came very quickly and was good. The waiting staff interaction could be better and we felt a bit rushed. Understand that this is a popular dining place and can get very packed but there must be a level of understanding that not everyone is familiar with the how food is served etc in the menu. There wasn’t a necessity to be abrupt. London prices so don’t compare to Singapore and Malaysia prices, you will be shocked! 😆 Would I eat here again? If I am in the area, I would. 🙂

Staff was very welcoming and friendly! Yasin helped us with our orders and made sure everything went smoothly. Food was great too. Har Cheong Gai chicken wings were our favourite.

Me and my wife dine there on November 14th, 2024. We ordered salted egg frawns and kangkong. Delicious! We're from Indonesia. And I can say that the taste is similar to the food back home, so it's not dissapointing. Dizzy and Rafael are helpfull and gave us good service while we dine. Lovely restaurant!

The food was incredibly delicious especially nasi lemak with curry chicken, the creamy of coconut milk was made the nasi lemak powerful, I thought only can have such delicious food in Malaysia. Last but no least, thanks for the waitress, Yasin warm & good service.

What can one say about Rasa Sayang that hasnt been said before! The food is absolutely mind blowing. This is reflected in the queue outside, which however is worth the wait, and moves quite fast! RIA is a gem, and ensures everyone gets in as soon as possible. Also, goes out of her way, as do the other amazing team, to ensure you eatvthe best food this side of KL!

Nik was great, helpful & friendly. The vegan / vegetarian nasi lemak was delicious too.

Food was great, we went at lunchtime and there was plenty of space. Staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Ria. She was very lovely and accomodating. Would highly recommend.

We were really lucky to be there early enough to not be in a queue as we didn’t book for a table. Nic and Dizzy were really friendly and gave great recommendations! Food portion was bigger than expected but unfortunately the taste was somehow lacking something. We had roti canai, hainanese chicken rice and nasi leak and thought only the roti and curry was up to par. But overall great experience!

La comida es pasable, nada del otro mundo pero lo PEOR es una trabajadora de pelo corto MUY MALEDUCADA, UNA BORDE PONIA MALS CARAS, porque aunque nosotros sabemos inglés había cosas que no entendíamos y en vez de explicarlo nos PUSO CARA DE ASCO. Nos hizo sentir muy mal e incómodos. Ojalá les esté comentario para que vea qué tipo de persona, maleducada, grosera y desde luego no recomendaría ni a mi peor enemigo pasar tiempo en ese lugar con esa persona. Los demás trabajadores encantadores. Ella horrible. Ojalá la echen por estupida

Honestly do not see the hype at all. Was very busy and well rated so had high expectations for this place. Food was very very mediocre at best. Wife got the Mee Goreng and it had a very weird smell to it. It was ediable, but the smell was too off putting. Also it only had like 3 pieces of shrimp :/ I had gotten the Nasi Lemak which I usually love but this one just didn't have that proper taste to it. The chicken itself was cooked well but the bones were massive with very little chicken on it which left me baffled and they gave like 2 pieces of time potatoes too. The chicken wings were decent. Nothing to boast about. Spring rolls were decent (would be hard to mess that up) Restaurant was kinda smal had everyone jam packed in but they did have l a basement seating aswell. If you don't book you only get the table for an hour :/ Food came relatively quick so that might be something to do with why it didn't taste that great either.

This place came recommended to me as an Indonesian, and honestly the food was alright. It’s not the best quality nor is it the most authentic, but as a quick and easy option in Chinatown, in what is a well decorated restaurant, this would be a good option.

0/10 I would not recommend at all! Non-authentic Malaysian food- bland, super greasy and unseasoned!

Nice place with delicious food and friendly service staff. Our waitress recommended me to try “Kon Lo Me” with Hainanese Chicken, chicken meat was so tender and tasty, many thanks for good recommendation. I also liked my Teh Tarik, which is a black tea blended with condensed milk. I love adding condensed milk to my coffee, but it was first time when I could order such mixture in a restaurant, very tasty. Great restaurant, an absolute recommendation for a visit.

A decent choice if you need a quick dinner and you're in London's theatre land, Rasa Sayang offers a good range of classic Malaysian dishes. The food was generally good but not great, with some flavourful curries but the noodle dish we had didn't hit the same level and the fried chicken was a bit bland. It's become a little pricey for what it is, maybe due to its location, but the staff are very friendly and the food is still mostly good. You could do far worse in the area.

It was a great experience eating Malaysian food for the first time. I loved the rice and the Quiet Storm-drink. Staff was very nice and asked how we did every now and then. Can really recommend this place!

Came here for dinner, the long queue outside is always a good sign! The beef rendang with Roti was definitely the highlight on the menu. Brilliant service from Rafael, Nick and Eliz.

I’m worried about the sanitation when we found leftover rice in the supposed cleaned bowl. Otherwise, good service and medium food.

We ordered two drinks and two mains. Homemade lemon tea was ok. Syrup bandung run out of grass jelly. I saw how they made syrup bandung, a little bit rose syrup and condensed milk (I think) plus tap water and ice mixed them together in one glass charge me almost £5. Singaore chilli crab, crab's flavour fully covered by the heavy sweet and sour gravy. If you dip the crab meat into the gravy you couldn't taste it is crab. If you taste the crab meat alone it just taste like boiled or steamed crab, the gravy taste wasn't into the shell although the shell was cracked. (I have taseted good Singaore chilli crab before the gravy was full of crab roe flavour). Hainanese chicken rice, the chicken was tender but nothing special.

Had my Special Fried Rice. Big portions. Value for money 💯

ordered desserts with the starter and main, and they brought desserts out first. laska is too sweet. the rest were nice. it get very crowded.

My second time here and on both occasions the food and service have been exceptional. I recommend the roti canai, which is slightly spicy and delicious.

The portions were extremely large! The food needed a pinch of salt but that can be a personal preference. The food was amazing and I really liked the Firecracker Popcorn Chicken.

The food here has gone downhill along with the service. We came back after 2 years as we really enjoyed it last time. The lady told us it'll be a 10min wait and we can only have the table for one hour and then told us to go downstairs. We went downstairs only to be shooed to our seats by a waitress who wasn't very accommodating. Food itself was not good and way too oily. It came at different times with no mention of this prior. They also didnt give us an itemised bill at the end and just waved the card machine in our face. Overall we were disappointed and will not be coming back again.

The manager, Ismail was horrible. He’s got a lot of attitude and doesn’t know how to speak to customers. Customer service is really bad. I don’t think anyone should try this place.

Not sure what people love about the food here. Being Malay I can tell you that it’s not authentic as I’m sure some sort of chilli powder is used. The Roti Chennai was so hot I felt like a dragon with smoke coming out of my ears. The King prawns had hardly any meat on them and how on earth do you get Te Tarek wrong???? Why does the food here have an after taste?!!!!! Disappointing and the waiter wearing the t shirt ‘should I satay or should I go?’ I say GO!!!! So upset about this place as I wanted to come here for years.

It was nice, but I didn’t think it was the best. The Mee Goreng was a bit bland though the fried chicken that accompanied it was perfect. The Nasi Goreng was very good but not the best I have had. We took a soup that was 3-4 star... The Roti Canai was very excellent. Very friendly and quick service.

Delicious! We especially loved the salted egg prawns and beef rendang.

The service is terrible. After paying the bill, he automatically returns the change to the customer. When the customer asks for it, he looks unhappy and asks why do you want the small change back? Of course, the customer didn't say he didn't need change. How could he automatically collect the remaining small change and then ask the customer why he needed change? It's outrageous.

The food was very enjoyable. I have allergies and the staff were able to take this into consideration. Eliza was a great waitress and made sure i understood the allergy information. She also recommended more dishes to try. The other staff were also very friendly. Overall, i had a great experience and will definitely be coming again.

I found it a bit off how u was greeted at the door, asked if I had a reservation and when I said no they said I could have max one hour - even though during our whole time there, there was tables free. There was one lovely waiter, a man who always smiled, but the others seemed like they didn’t really care. I had the Laksa which in my opinion had a bit too much noodles - but that is purely personal preference. The dish as a whole was top. Drinks are a bit pricey, most non alcoholic drinks were £4-£5 but they were happy to give water with ice for free. The food did come quickly which was a massive bonus as we were in a bit of a rush.

Great time at Rasa Sayang. Nick and the team were very attentive and ensured we had a good time.

It was a last minute decision and we wasn’t sure if we could get in as it was a Friday dinner. We were there just before 6pm and we were lucky we got a table. And right after that, this place just started to get crowded. The service was fast, most of the staff were friendly and the food was delicious. It meet our expectations of authentic Malaysian/Singaporean food. Apart from the delicious food, I also like how creative they are on using the name of the dishes to quote on the staff t-shirt. It’s very cute and funny. We were only in London for 2 nights before heading home but we had visited this restaurant 3 times (2x dinner and 1x lunch). And all our family members already have their favourite food. We definitely will come back here the next time we visit London.

The worst Malaysian / Singaporean food I’ve had in London. The dishes we had ranged from disappointing to crimes against food. I was so excited to see keropok and sambal tempeh goreng on the menu. The “keropok” was the same prawn crackers with a sweet chilli sauce out of a bottle that you’d expect to get at a provincial Thai take-away. The tempeh was half-heartedly stir-fried with another sweet, cloying sauce. No sambal in sight. The gado gado at least had most of the expected ingredients but was under-seasoned, watery and, like everything else, a washed out facsimile of what it was pretending to be. The Nasi Lemak was served with steamed rice - which I think is actually a crime in Malaysia - and the most embarrassing excuse for achar; some raw carrots that had been waved near some rice vinegar on the pass. The Mee Goreng was comparatively serviceable. Although monotone with rubbery squid it’s hard to completely mess up fried noodles. Go to Dapur, go to Melur, go to Laksamania, go to Roti King, go to Old Chang Kee. Singaporean and Malaysian food can be everything that this isn’t. The service was fine.

Honestly.. best Malaysian place I've been to. Definitely recommend and definitely will be coming back. Super busy but didn't have to wait long. Portion sizes are generous and very filling. Beef was beautiful. Has halal options!

We had Singapore Wat Tan Hor, Char Kway Teow and Singapore Chilli Prawn. All delicious and good portion size for the price. The service is a bit poor as we asked for green chilli and sambal sauce and both not available. Tax applicable. Street parking may be tricky. Nearest Tube station - Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus Station.
