Rasa Sayang in City of London, Westminster

We visited for lunch on a Sunday. Booked a table which was the right decision as the place was busy. We shared Roti Canai and Prawn Crackers to start and then had Beef Rendang and Black Pepper Ribeye Beef for mains. The food was very tasty, especially the Beef Rendang. We felt a little rushed and this is not a place for a relaxed leisurely meal experience.

Went to Rasa Sayang recently and had such a great time. The food hit the spot, super flavourful and just really comforting. But honestly, what made it even better was the service. Sam and Nick were both amazing, so friendly and on it the whole time. They made us feel really looked after. Just really good vibes all around. Will definitely be going back.

A very busy place but excellent halal food. Had the hainanese chicken and rice which come close to the ones we had in Singapore. The cold teh tarik was nice and sweet. The hofun noodles was really tasty. Would recommend for anyone in the area looking for halal food be warned it can be busy where they expect you to have your table for an hour.

I understand that it is a cultural thing, but since not everyone is used to it and many are tourists, I think it is worth informing customers that the food is spicy, because it is not just a little spicy, it is really strong and can be unpleasant for some people, like it was for me who could not finish the dish. Even the spring roll was spicy... I have never seen that. At least the dessert was good.

Delicious food, good portion sizes, and great atmosphere! Our host Eliz was so helpful and made our night. Really recommend Rasa Sayang for a fantastic meal out in Chinatown.

Still the best Malaysian restaurant in London. Food is authentic, competitively priced and full of bold flavours. Staff are usually a little rushed but that's because it's always busy whenever I go there. Be patient the food is worth waiting for 😀

Fabulous flavours, great ambience

Had a delicious Malaysian meal at Rasa Sayang in London. We ordered the salted egg prawns—crispy, rich, and full of flavour. The Hainan chicken was tender and comforting, and the nasi lemak brought all the familiar tastes of home. I washed it all down with a refreshing iced Milo and Teh Tarik—perfect combo! Great service and cosy atmosphere. Will definitely be back for more.

When you go to China it is always the luck of the draw a bit, even if the place has good rating ( we know the fake ones), but this one was legit amazing. The food was so good, I could have ordered several options. Prawn laksa and roti on the photos, word of advice is that it gets busy. I am unsure if they do reservations either, but so so good anyways.

What can I say about Rasa Sayang- it’s like a delicious loving hug on a plate - each time I come here - I’m happier than the last time . We were served by the lovely Eliz this time, I explained I like my Ho fun saucy - she was happy to comply. Food is flavoursome , delicious and authentic - and the service is second to none! Thank you rasa sayang!

The food was delicious and Eliz, the lady who served our table, was super attentive, knowledgeable about the dishes and made sure we are happy with everything. She’s the best.

My third time going and always a pleasure. It can be very hard to get a dinner walk in so try to reserve ahead of you can, but spots go fast. The food is absolutely delicious and a good drinks selection too.

The food has always been great here. It comes out extremely quickly (we were done within 30minutes). The flavours and are great and portion sizes are fair. This is not one for a leisurely hang out - space is tight so naturally you’ll likely need to stick to their 90min table allocation. You may also be required to wait for your table even if you have a reservation,

Might be the best chicken curry and roti in London, amazing. Ria was nothing but lovely as my server, didn't hesitate or complain when she needed to close the door after every customer forgot to, just a smile on her face and back to work.

We had a lovely meal here tonight. Fresh and tasty food as always together with speedy and friendly service, particularly from Eliz who gave my friend great advice on the best cocktails! We will definitely be back.

Love the kwetiaw. If choi sim is added, I would give 5 stars lah. My problem is the queue. I think people should be limited to stay. A lot of them just finished eating and keep hanging around whilst many people are starving outside... Other restaurants limit the time spent and people do not mind.

The food was very good. Since I don't eat spicy food, Rafael directed me to a very delicious shrimp and noodle soup.

Ria and Zaina were brilliant. Super patient, kind and explained the menu to us because it was our first time here. Roti Canai, Nasi Lemak, Nasi Goreng were delicious. Defo recommend.

A really warm experience at this malaysian/singaporian restaurant. The team really strive to offer a perfect service to each customer and regularly check on them. My own dish (beef rendang) was a bit too spicy for me but it was still very much enjoyable. Bonus appreciation to their authentic Malaysian drink milo and warm thanks to host Ria !

Appaling appaling service, we queued for more than an hour!!!! One person came and said it will take 20 mins, we were there for over an hour without any update at all. They have a downstairs sitting area so i don’t understand how no one entered or exited the restaurant. Very disappointed , it used to be my favorite malaysian restaurant in chinatown but this service was so horrid.

The food is very tasty. It is a small shop and sometimes there is a line outside but it moves pretty quick.

I enjoyed my meal so much. It was my first time and a friend who had been here invited me over. I had the nasi goreng, spring rolls, milo peng, har cheong (popcorn chicken) and their calamansi mojito. It was all equisite. Our waiter Himal was super attentive and polite and so were the other staff. I will definitely recommend and it’s not only filling but tasty and worth the price! 10/10. Kudos to you guys and hopefully see you soon! There were also super kind to swap one of our starters when we realized we had it in our main meal so they are also Accommodating too!

Me and my friend we really enjoyed our dinner at Rasa Sayang. We were looking for a place where we could have a delicious meal but halal. Food was absolutely delicious. Portions are very big. Service is also very good. Waitress was very helpful in recommending to us what we could order as we have a nut allergy. It was our second visit to this place and not the last one.The experience was very good and positive.

The food was very tasty. It was our first time trying this restaurant. We went due to the positive reviews and was a close walk to the theatre. We had to wait about 40 minutes for a table as we hadn't reserved. So reserve to avoid waiting. The waiter Yasin was super attentive and kept the waiting customer's updated regularly.

I had an absolutely amazing experience. I am thankful for the great service and the exposure I got to Malay cuisine. Now I know that this is my favorite food by far 😂 We ordered so many dishes yet they all came out quickly. In addition, the food was delicious and the restaurant had a friendly atmosphere. Definitely get a reservation though; The restaurant is fairly small and I would expect it to get busy quickly. Our waiter Himal was also very accommodating and they were good with allergies. The only negative thing I have to say is that the tables are pretty close together but there is nothing wrong with that! It’s just not very common in other places. Please go!

Thought it would be better than it was. Beef rendang was very salty. The meat was very tender though. Roti canai was basic. It was all ok.. Very expensive for what it was. It is also very noisy!

I went to Rasa Sayang with a group of 4 and everyone loved what they ordered. The food was plentiful, well spiced, and arrived fast. The staff were friendly, especially Vy who gave us a dessert on the house for my friend’s birthday. I definitely plan to go back to try more! It was quite popular though, so I recommend booking in advance, especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

Had a fantastic time. Food was lovely (super yummy + good portions) and staff were super friendly and professional. We did reserve a table and still had to wait 20/30 mins due to how busy place was, but staff was very professional about it and even gave us free drinks (which they didn't have to). We were served by Yasin, who did an incredible job. He was waiting tables, taking orders and managing tables all at once. Incredible service!

Yasin took care of us while we were there, he was so nice and funny, the food was peeeerfection, and the service was fast, will be going back
