Rasa Sayang in City of London, Westminster

Had a fantastic time. Food was lovely (super yummy + good portions) and staff were super friendly and professional. We did reserve a table and still had to wait 20/30 mins due to how busy place was, but staff was very professional about it and even gave us free drinks (which they didn't have to). We were served by Yasin, who did an incredible job. He was waiting tables, taking orders and managing tables all at once. Incredible service!

Came on a friends recommendation. Arrived just before 5pm (on a weekday) and food arrived by 5.10pm. Restaurant was half full when I arrived and quickly filled up by 5.30pm with a couple of tables reserved. Hainanese chicken was beautifully soft and reminded me of home cooked flavours as a kid. Was at the back of the restaurant and the back door kept getting opened which kept bringing in a cold draft

Small, but fantastic restaurant. Friendly staff, and outstanding Malaysian food. The Roti Canai with Chicken Curry was one of the best I have ever tasted. Beautiful falky paratha and the curry was spiced just perfectly with a lovely thick gravy to soak the roti into. My wife had Mee Goreng, which was also just spot on. Washed down with some Rose wine and the house brand beer - both really good as well. We were there @ 5 p.m. on a Monday, and easily got seating, though by around 6 p.m. onwards it started getting really busy. Small clue to how good the Malaysian food was? Full of Malaysian diners, so there's your answer!

Laksa wasn’t very good. Wrong noodles used. Not spicy enough. Service was good though. Vy was lovely to chat to. Agreed that iphone users are superior hahah jk. Atmosphere is nice too. But laksa could be better

Service from VY was great attentive, nice and an exceptionally customer service. The food was ok I had the ribeye beef horfun, great tender steak but would have loved the noodles to have more flavour. But overall great. Will come again.

Nice vibe, big portion of food and great staff! The only thing i would comment on is the "intensity" of the laksa. I think the broth can be a bit more flavorful. But for the portion size and price, i would say it's really good! The roti was very good too! Thanks to Ria for the service.

Yasin was great. Went above... we were waiting outside before open time, and when he noticed he signalled for us to come in to sit even though restaurant wasn't open yet. Attentive to both ours and our 3yo son's needs. Humorous. Food was good as always. Wat tan hor this time though could have had more wok hei but otherwise good food.

I had pleasure of dining at Rasa Sayang Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! The flavors of Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine come alive in every dish. I tried the Beef Rendang, Raffles singapore laksa, sambal long beans, sago gula melaka, Ubi kayu and the rasa sayang beer and it was bursting with authentic flavors and perfectly balanced spices. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy, traditional vibe. The staff were friendly specially Himal and provided excellent service, making the experience even better. Whether you’re a fan of Malaysian food or trying it for the first time, Rasa Sayang is a must-visit. Highly recommend it for anyone craving delicious, authentic Southeast Asian cuisine!

Food was really basic not sure why i expected the food to be really amazing maybe cos i read so many reviews of this place and got what alot of people recommend lack of seasoning in the food the staff there weren’t very friendly wasn’t attentive as we would have liked as a group of 4 people.

Rasa Sayang delivers! We had roti canai, nasi lemak, teh peng, and chicken curry—every bite was 10/10. Flavors were rich, authentic, and absolutely slapped! Shoutout to Ria (host) & Tammy (waitress) for being super friendly and making space for our baby’s pram—service was top-notch. If you want delicious Malaysian food with great vibes, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

Serious good Excellent discovery of Malaysian cuisine My cousin (banker) felt so unwell that it was good 😉 I had to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (mouth to mouth) The food is honestly very good However, the employees seat you first near the window even though there are plenty of comfortable and free seats downstairs (probably to give the impression to passers-by that the restaurant is busy and coveted... just a guess ⚠️) Brief I don't feel uncomfortable (😉) recommending this restaurant

Booked ahead and glad we did, place was packed. Seated on time and staff very very friendly and helpful, stopping us massively over ordering! Laksa was incredible as were the prawns.

We were craving our Malaysian/Singaporean fix in particular dishes like Hainan chicken rice and we had a delicious meal overall! Originally we were seated on a table by the door and it was cold so we requested to move and they were really accommodating. The food came quickly and hot, staff were very friendly and we were served by Vy! Thank you we will definitely be coming back!!

Food is unbelievably good tasted authentic and had a homely warm feel to it. Service is great we were struggling on drink options at the End but Vy helped us make a decision she explained each one and made a great recommendation. Make sure to try their teas and coffees

Elegimos este lugar ya que es uno de los pocos restaurantes halal en Chinatown. El servicio era bastante lento. Pedí un plato que debía ser dulce y mi amigo quería algo especiado. Nuestros platos parecían ser al revés, así que cambiamos. Mi amigo no disfrutó de la comida. Lo hice, creo que es caro por lo que es. Desafortunadamente también había un niño pequeño en la mesa junto a nosotros gritando (sospecho que la familia del propietario) y en lugar de llevarlo fuera o decirle que deje de gritar, simplemente parece ignorarlo. Realmente arruinó la comida para mí y me gustaría tener una comida para llevar

We ordered beef rendang, roti, coconut rice and roti canai with chicken curry. The mains we ordered might not have been the best out of the options. Sadly, the roti canai with chicken curry did not come with any chicken at all, just the curry sauce for dipping. The curry sauce was delicious but it wasn't what I was expecting at all unfortunately.

I have been meaning to go to this restaurant as love Malaysian cuisine. My friend and I arrived earlier than our booking slot and the front of house staff were very helpful and welcoming in getting us a table. We ordered the roti canai starter to share, the beef rendang and the Raffles Singapore laksa as main. Roti was soft and flaky and canai was decent. The beef rendang was recommended as we wanted the spiciest item on the menu - although it was flavoursome and tasted authentic, it wasn’t spicy enough in our opinion. The additional sambal wasn’t spicy either. Ordering the laksa was confusing, I was told by the staff that although the laksa is seafood based, a chicken version was also available. I’ve had laksa at other restaurants where poultry and seafood are mixed so I requested a mixture of seafood and chicken…they said they couldn’t add chicken and if I wanted chicken then i’d need to order the hainanese chicken and be charged for that additionally. I was fine with this as was happy with the seafood broth and how it came but just wanted the addition of chicken. The staff did say that adding the chicken into the laksa would change the taste of the laksa and consistency of the chicken so I asked for it to come on the side. The laksa itself was disappointing, it lacked seasoning and depth of flavour, the noodles were really soft and not easy to swallow without a feeling of choking, I’ve generally had rice vermicelli noodles but there was no option to change the type of noodles. The hainanese chicken came as it says on the menu “still slightly pink”, didn’t enjoy that at all, too strong a flavour for my liking. So I should have stuck to their recommendation of having the laksa as is, but in my opinion still not as flavoursome as I’ve had elsewhere. We did get an NHS discount which was good.. even though they charged us full price and then had to reimburse us.. mix ups happen. Venue is ok, sticky floors downstairs to go to the toilets, and no toilet paper. Prices are reasonable which is a positive but food needs a bit of an oomph!

The girl who took my order was haughty and very sure of herself and completely screwed up the order. I asked for the chicken to be thigh meat and got breast meat and it had to be returned. The laksa was not hot and had to be sent back to be reheated. I still paid the tip but wish I hadn’t. It was overpriced and I urge you not to dine here. It’s expensive and awful and they don’t listen to your instructions
