Deferent experience. I like the idea of small portions per order, so we had the opportunity to try out more dishes.

Tons of options for gluten-free dim sum. Safe for celiac.

We had a pleasant dinner in this restaurant. It was quite crowded, but the table was ready in a few moments after the guests had paid. We had chicken noodles, beef gyoza, fried duck rolls and various dim sum dumplings and we have to say that the food was very fresh and tasty. My daughter had the pineapple coconut mocktail which was delicious. The service was also ok.

Service is very rushed, the restaurant was empty, and how to order from the menu was explained very quickly. Luckily, I've eaten at another branch before, so i knew how to select my choices. The food was incredible, very tasty, very satisfying. This restaurant is quite small and cramped, the South Bank restaurant is a nicer experience.

I come here all the time and it’s always great service is really good and staff is really nice and attentive.

The food was nice but the staff dianna and krasi were very rude. Krasi said she was manager but had so much attitude and spoke very rudely. Training with talking to the public is very much needed.

The most horrible unwelcoming female staff I’ve ever met. Literally wanted to leave after visiting. Please fire her, you can see clearly with the poor reviews here about service and it’s even worse in person. She just threw the food on the table with no smile or regards, she even put in our dessert first before our main was delivered. Utter nonsense service. The food was good I’ll give it to the chef! But the service was absolutely disgraceful that’s it’s bought the review down to 1 star

One of the worst places I have been sitting in, the staff completely unprofessional and rude, sat for a drink with friends, as soon as they realised someone else came and they were willing to spend more they came to us asking us to leave immediately saying the place was reserved when nobody told us once we sat down. that’s something to be ashamed of, that’s not the way to treat customer, apparently they said they were two managers in there, one curly guy aged around 40-45 with glasses, and a young lady blond hair, both absolutely with no shame asking us to leave not even after 40 minutes we sat, we also asked for an iced tea and they gave us the wrong order not even apologising for it, they must change their staff because I never experienced such unprofessional people, I never leave bad review but this place went all over my expectation, don’t ever come here because you will regret it. When I asked the names of the staff working they refused to give it to me knowing they will be in trouble, whoever is the manager or whoever is the responsible those two guys they need to be fired because they taking customers away. I heard was a good spot but I will never come back again, we live 5 minuts walk from there and we will definetly tell people around us to never step on that place again

Surly staff. Disappointing food. We booked for 4 adults and 3 children. I called to explain we were running 30 minutes late and they were kind enough to hold our table. Once we were seated- someone literally pointing to the table - not very welcoming- the woman who “served” us was impatient and trying to guide us towards spending as much money as possible. Her disdain was even greater when we didn’t offer lots of alcohol. The dim sum was sloppy, the grove was a cheap grade. The staff were clearly unhappy to have children and non booze drinking adults. Awkward and frankly rather unpleasant. Not a pleasant experience.

Wouldn’t bother, the service is really bad, clueless, hardly any spoken English. So very difficult to communicate. Food was very average and portions really bad for the price. Life is expensive now why would you spend your money at a bad restaurant?

The blonde lady meeting guests certainly knows how to speak English. Sadly she doesn’t know how to treat them. Either train or fire her because the way she talks to people as soon as they ask to sit downstairs is incredible. She told us that if we go sit downstairs, our food will take 20 minutes longer to come. I told her that am not going to talk to her. Thankfully there was Dixit who reassured us that everything is going to be alright and treated us perfectly. The man deserves a raise.

Good place for tasty dim sum Not great variety but well presented and suits a interesting quick lunch.

Rude staff who are clearly confused. The shop floor was left empty and I literally called out to no response. The worst ping pong in London.

Amazing food, but the ambience was okish

I highly advise you not to go to this place- Pure rip off and they will charge you 4 pound for tap water which I have never seen before- The wait to get your food is at least 30 mins - the food is terrible- so I 'm saving all of you out there to live this horrific experience

Firstly the service here was good, nice friendly waiters looking after us. The food was ok but not as nice as the last time I ate here. Chicken balls tepid, vegetable rice had an odd taste, dumplings slimy. Bao dish, the prawns were overly salty. Ribs chewy rather than meat falling away. I was taken here by friends so felt it was not my place to inform the waiter of the above, which of course would have been more appropriate. Just not as good as previous visits.

Below average food, expensive for what you get, very rude service

Ordered many vegetarian items as my friend and I don’t eat meat. We were brought some items including, unknown to me a chicken dish which I started eating. When I then asked the waitress if this was meat she said yes. First time I’ve eaten meat in over a decade, so thanks for that. The manager then came over to apologise and state ‘it’s not what we do here’ obviously you clearly do. The rest of the food was average at best anyway. Terrible service and terrible attitude don’t bother.

Stopped for a quick lunch earlier today. Busy Sunday afternoon as expected. Food was really good as usual however this branch has poor service. Staff are not attentive and just dump dishes on the table and walk away. Taking my order also took them along time and the team were just standing behind the bar talking amongst themselves. At the end they forgot to bring my bill so I just went and paid at the till. Interns of food I tried the giant soup dumpling from the new dragon year selection which unfortunately didn’t have any soup inside! The potato cakes and dumplings were good with really tasty dips. I tried the lychee black tea which was very refreshing and floral.

Our new favourite place to eat, the food is delicious, service immaculate and love how the managers are always around making sure everything goes well. Highly recommended and always ask the staff for brilliant recommendations for food and drinks.

Lunch deal is great! Dim sum quality is better at places like Din Tai Fung or Royal China

Absolutely dire service. Rude and bored waitress who needed prompting for everything including basic things like cleaning the table . Was filthy downstairs. Did the bare minimum. Placed the wrong order. Manager was also rude and pointless and made us wait out in the cold. Couldn't be a worse experience.

This is without a doubt the worst place I’ve ever been to in London. It completely ruined my day and it was because of the French waiter/manager guy. He SNATCHED the menu out of my hands in the most aggressive way possible and put it on the next table. He never apologised or used his words. I felt like an animal by him. So rude and disrespectful. Not only will I never go back, I will make sure this everyone in my circle and group know how horrible it it. That dude needs a customer service training. You do not treat anyone like that let alone your paying customers. I hope he rots in hell and the restaurant shuts down if they support him. It completely ruined my beautiful london trip. Food was also sub par. If you want to have that attitude the least you can do is give me good food. Disgusting and disrespectful.

The place had an amazing athmosphere, there was amusing music and the lightning was amazing. The waitress wasn’t good at all, the waiters were so kind. Asked a lot of questions from him and he was always ready to answer with kindness but the waitress was horrible… while we were eating she came and checked if I had finished my food before I even had time to say anything to her. Normally they come to pick your food up when you’re totally finished not while you’re still trying to eat. And when asking about the dishes she was so unwilling to answer and to co-operate. When it comes to food, I took buns and dumplings. They tasted like they were just some frozen food that they just warm up here and I’ve been eating both buns and dumplings many times to confirm that this food wasn’t freshly made.

Being a mixed race (part Chinese) foodie, I had been warned that once you go Ping Pong, you're never quite the same person again. Well I was fortunate enough to go with London's most gifted Corporate solicitor. She was beautiful, the conversation flowed effortlessly and the staff were very accomodating. Gentleman, should you need to impress... Make sure you order the tenderstem broccoli, the bao and obviously the chicken and cashew dumpling. I can honestly say I'm now deeply in love with London's most gifted corporate solicitor and Ping Pong deserves most of the credit for this 🫶🏼

Awesome surprise. fresh and wonderful food, perfect in the details. The dishes are small and made to share. Worth it. Excellent service by Dixit. I can say he is one man army . I have seen his making drinks as well as handling the restaurant single handedly. Appreciate it. Plenty vegetarian options as well and one of my favorite dish now days is vegetable spring rolls. I love it... Thanks for making our day fantastic. ❤️

Today is a memorable day and thank you for pingpong, we had our cousins gathering today there, i didn’t expect such a delicious atmosphere and service , especially amal, such a nice guy and he tried to make us very comfortable. I ordered all his suggested dishes and its really mouthwatering. I love today , totally it was marvellous

We had an birthday treat for my friend here. The staff provided us with exceptional luxury hospitality and service. Jeff, in particular, is worth mentioning as he served us with great attention and made sure our experience was nothing short of amazing. He helped us choose affordable drinks and the food was absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a perfect and memorable evening.

Over priced. Tiny portions, if I go again I’ll realise it’s A great place for sharing small plates. Not what I expected. Good taste.

Chinesisches Restaurant mit großer Auswahl an Dim Sum. Man kann entweder verschiedene einzelne wählen oder ein Set, vorhanden in Fleisch/Fisch Variante und in veganer Variante. Das Set war lecker, nicht zu groß und vielfältig. Der Service könnte etwas freundlicher sein.

My Mum brought me here for lunch in the week. I knew it was 'happy hour' and had been here before so I was quite looking forward to it. There isn't much available on the happy hour anymore and the food quality and portions are poor. They even overcharged us for some dishes. I took the receipt back a week later to inform them of the miscalculation. The supervisor took a picture of the receipt and said she will be in touch. This never happened and it was forgotten about. I won't be going back.

I was there waiting a very very long time for my order. I noticed all the customers eating in, were also waiting a very long time. I paid £15.95 for 3 tiny vegetable spring rolls and a main course of chicken noodles, which was the TINIEST main course I have ever seen. I couldn't see any chicken. Then I realised a few small things, I thought to be nuts, were in fact supposed to be the chicken! I will never go there again.

Popped by to try and get a table. Didn’t have a reservation but spoke to a server who was trying to be helpful, but she had to wait to check with her manager. The manager appeared behind us and very rudely asked us to move out of her way, and then when the server asked her about a walk-in she basically told her off in front of us. Absolutely appalling way to treat your staff. Terrible impression and we left to go somewhere else.

Food is very average but pricey

Received a very warm welcome. Good food, very good service and Halal Chicken and Halal Beef Gyoza always helps.. Took a friend with us.. didn't get dissapointed at all. Really nice with a superb service.

Tried to get you out as fast as they can.

Food was just okay - not better than competition and not worse. Service was terrible! The manager serving us first adds to our order prawn crackers without even asking us, than cleaning the table breaks the glass showing his lack of skills. Should leave this job for the waiters as clearly that can do I better. Than adds the service charge for trying to add item to our order without our knowledge and shattering glass everywhere? Something is wrong there and believe it was my last visit in this branch.

We went yesterday for dinner , very slow and disappointed service

No wonder this restaurant was empty on a weekday night at the peak of the tourist season while others were packed - Food not great and average service.

The only dish that was worth it was the spicy chicken. All the rest were ok at best. It is extremely expensive for what you get. Would not come back

Usual Ping Pong fare plonked on tables by staff who were very unfriendly. Extortionate price for what we had. Realise huge challenges for restaurant business at the moment but I would avoid this one at least.

Very bad experience. the food is lower than expectations. the tables are sticky for some reason. the service is slow. after all the sfickiness, they had no wipes. never comping back again.

Poor value for money, portions were really small, very underwhelming food. Also I noticed afterwards that they charged us for a dish that we never received. We certainly won’t be going back there again.

The food was ok, nothing special. The portions were far to small for the price. The service was ok, but we didn't feel that welcome. Still the biggest con was the price/portion ratio, far too expensive for what we got.

Excellent location, the food is freshly made. I used to take the menu but now I am enjoying buying the items Iike most.

Good restaurant. I recommend the duck Bao buns. Price was a bit high for the size of portions.

I won't come again. The staff was terrible, the food was ok but the portion was small . They don't accept cash. I think it's too expensive for what it is, I don't recommend it.

Service was polite and we didn't feel rushed. Food was okay, nothing particularly brilliant or terrible. We sat outside which was nice but very small tables for all the dishes. However, I was very glad we sat outside as inside looked very cramped. Be prepared for a looong trip to the toilet that is not accessibility friendly at all, lots of stairs!

This afternoon I went for food here and I was really enjoying my food until I realised there was a grey hair on the dumpling. I complained and then received a new main course however I was told it was hay from the basket I’ve eaten with you man times and never seen this before I paid for my food but I didn’t think it was acceptable ? So I endowed in to ping pong where I was told no one had grey hair in the kitchen but it was definitely a hair I even attached a picture Avoid at all costs poor hygiene standards

We have previously been to the St Katherine's Docks restaurant and a lovely meal. However after the visit to the St Christopher's Place restaurant we would not be returning. Service was extremely slow but the biggest problem was the really poor value for money with the portion sizes of the dishes. Would not recommend.

I had a great catch up with friends and really enjoyed the festive cocktails and banquet . The staff were very professional and the food was excellent

Luckily my wife and I are big fans of Ping Pong, so we knew we’d be happy with the food. We ordered a few of our favourites, including the char siu bao, plus a number of different dumplings. Service was good on the whole, but one member of staff was a little slow and vacant.

Visited for the first time today, was slightly overwhelmed with the menu but the waiter (I think his name was Josh) very kindly recommend dishes and gave us guidance on what to order and how much. The service was quick, food was delicious. We were later also served but what I believed to be the manger and overall the great customer service on top of the delicious food really made our visit. We will be back again soon!

We took up the offer of a lazy sumday over at Ping Pong and left feeling extremely disappointed. We had a large booking of 8 and we're ushered in their seating area downstairs. Upon presentation of the menu we were disappointed that half the options were not accessible for the lazy sumday option and a significant proportion of the food was not available on the day itself. What was most puzzling and annoying was an interview with a prospective new employee taking place on the table next to us. It was loud, disturbing and simply put in our opinion quite a disappointment when we were trying to enjoy a family meal. One should conduct such meetings outside seating hours, which seems reasonable. Later the gentleman being interviewed was being showed the ropes and trained to serve . Unfortunately needless to say, it was a disaster as he was clueless and not helpful at all when it came to service . Rather disappointing visit to Ping Pong and questions how they go about their business and impact the atmosphere for customers.

Used to be a favourite spot now Painfully slow service you need to expect 1.5hours for some basic items. Drinks take forever as we. Please get more staff. Wagamamas is better.

Truly appalling, shocking service. Felt discriminated by the our waitress. Who constantly showed attitude, never explained what was what and forgot part of our order. Worst still never apologised. Management was not much better. Dumplings were ok though!

Love ping pong, but so disappointed with our visit yesterday evening, it’s my first bad experience at a ping pong, usually its fantastic hence why I am a return diner. But this was my first visit to the st James street branch, First and definitely last! Service was poor, half of the veggie menu wasn’t available and we weren’t informed of that until we actually came to place our order. The branch was dead quiet we ended up being the only people in there and yet we were refused to be seated at a 4 seat table because they may “get busy” the way we were spoken to was quite rude too. So we had our meal cramped on a tiny table. No apology for half the vegetarian menu being unavailable. It was just such a disappointing visit. 2 stars was awarded just because I usually love ping pong, but this branch doesn’t really deserve 1. Higher powers of Ping pong please bring back the hibiscus spritz cocktail please.

We have been to Ping Ping Soho, St. Katherine’s Dock, and South Bank many times…. And thought why not visit a different restaurant location. Bad decision. It’s a very small, crammed in venue, we were seated downstairs in the basement with no vibe or atmosphere initially on our own. Also seated near the entrance to the toilets, and various panels missing from the ceiling was our view. We were looking forward to many dishes on the menu in particular the Ping Pong Fried chicken and Char Siu Pork Buns, which were scribbled off the menu. We had to ask to confirm why this was, rather than be told items were not on the menu. Additionally, Edamame beans were also scribbled out, as well as many other dishes. The service was not the best given it was not particularly busy. Really disappointing, will not be visiting that branch again. Food was great though. Venue and service not so much.

Average dim sum dishes, bright and nice environment. Seating is a bit of struggle - lack of space. Dishes are ok nothing standout. Good staff services! Good for a quick meal.

Amazing food, large variety of gluten free and vegan options!

This the most mediocre Chinese food/ dim sum I’ve ever had. The egg rolls were great, everything else was either salty or bland. The soup dumplings had no soup in them and I mentioned we where celebrating my birthday twice and the staff did nothing. Would never come again

The food was Ok but the 2-person tables are literally next to each other, pretty extreme even by London standard. It was difficult to squeeze in to the tiny space between next table's bags and jacket and I could barely hear my friend during the meal because the next table was breathing and talking to my ears. Food portion was tiny, not only the dimsum but also the rice and noodle dish which supposed to be a main. The service was weird too. Only had one set of plate/chopstick/napkin on the table, had to chase for another set twice after food arrived. Chased twice again for another piece of napkin....I was so ready to leave after. .

The vegetable sticky fried rice wasn’t even the size for a kid and tasted like boiled veg with no flavour, would not recommend, and we had to go inside to get our order through and ask for menus, not great service, and food took a long time when we only ordered 2 small things.

Poor customer service and portions sizes are outrageous for the amount they’re charging. £6.55 for 3 duck spring rolls! My mum finished her food before I got mine and when the waitress got it, it was sitting on the countertop the whole time and was cold. We also had to ask twice for our drinks. It wasn’t full and they had plenty of staff so no excuse. The final disappointment is when they had added service onto the bill (there were only 2 of us) and we ordered 1 dish each and 1 drink between us. Although, the food quality was good. I won’t be coming back.

Me and my fiancé visited ping pong James street for our anniversary trip in London. Can’t thank enough for the lovely staff and the waitress Crasi who gave us complimentary glass of champagne to begin our holiday.

Food nice enough, and cocktails were delicious. Front of house staff were pleasant. We had issues with the speed of service. There were only two of us, and it took 1 hour to be served all our dishes. We ordered about 7 things and we pretty much got one dish every 5-10 minutes. Such a weird experience. I’m not exaggerating in the slightest about the timings. All the while we saw Deliveroo riders coming in and grabbing huge takeaway orders.

If I could put zero stars I would , we were waiting 58 minutes for the food to arrive which when it did arrive it was cold , they completely forgot about our drinks we had to remind them 3 times , when we went to pay we asked Casemira ( the worker) could you remove service charge and she got so offended and we explained the reason for it and she started acting rude towards us my friend wanted to pay by cash but no one informed us that it was card only even though apparently it’s on the website but we personally didn’t look at it , there was no problem I do understand that most shops are card only but she was extremely disrespectful to the point where my friend had to say to her listen I’m speaking to you politely so you should act the same, she tried to tell me and my friend that they have a party of 22 people and as much as I understand they are busy but as a restaurant they should know the cover amount they can be able to handle and not blame the customers for it, I honestly felt disrespected the whole time I was dining.

We previously visited here around 10 years ago and had fond memories. Unfortunately our visit this time wasn’t great. It was a Friday afternoon and the restaurant wasn’t too busy. We had the vegan dim sum which we found really gelatinous. It was difficult to pick up from the basket with chopsticks as it was sticking to the basket and breaking. We ordered sake when we first arrived, no other drinks. We had to remind the staff twice that we were waiting for our drinks. It then arrived after our starter. The bigger issue with the sake is that it was boiling hot, and we both ended up slightly burning the end of our tongues. Not a great experience.
