I really enjoy the food from Bento House, especially the tempura and maki rolls. Thanks guys

the girl who served us was really nice and patient. the food was INCREDIBLE honestly, the place might not be the best decorated but the food is banging. really recommend the aubergine. the sushi was so nice too, i got the prawn, crab and mayonnaise. the squid tempura was so nice too and it came a really big portion, the people eating while i waited ordered the prawn tempura and it smell and. looked banging too. price not be the cheapest but it’s not massively expensive and food quality ratio is good.

This is NOT the place to come for a high end fancy restaurant but it is so tasty. The decor leaves much to be desired and the lack of toilet was interesting but the food was immense. It is all made fresh to order and I can understand why people might think it tastes awful as a take away because I doubt it will travel well. However, the Duck Maki was amazing, tempura was slightly greasy (but it’s fried food so come on!) and the Bimimbap had a great kick to it- as it is made fresh you can make it as spicey as you like. Would recommend to eat in - as long as you don’t mind the strange decor and rustic setting.

Even before it was late, your restaurant said it will take from 60 to 80 minutes to deliver. Which was already insane late, and then it was delayed another 25 minutes or something. Horrible experience! i asked for money back, and I was told 'oh it's not our problem, the delivery guy got stuck in traffic '

Loved every dish I've had here! My friend and I visited twice and we loved it both times! I am vegetarian and was very pleased with the tofu teriyaki bento box I ate.

this food was deliciously fresh & crunchy & tasty, & the tempura batter, & kiriyaki sauce were just salty enough. delicious surprise. will definitely be ordering from here again.

Chicken Gganpoongi and Crispy Duck maki are excellently cooked and perfect portion sizes. They give so much chicken! Freshly fried, and great presentation. Highly recommend.

can’t get their tofu teriyaki off my mind. staff were really lovely too. food preparation time was 10 mins. big portion

Absolutely awful service. Ordered food at 6:00 being told 55 mins. Then told 30 mins more. Called at 7:25 to follow up and told nothing they can do as they can’t contact me, but I lived there more than three years. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Never using them again.

One of Bristol's last hidden gems - honestly one of my favourite restaurant and takeaways. This is my favourite place to support, they've kept their prices low and quality consistent for the past 5 years of visiting this place, can't say I've had a bad experience. Try the bibimbap, ganggpongi or katsu curry to name a few favourites - as well as the sushi which is really good value. Easily one of the best spots I've discovered in my 7 years here! The service is unpretencious and friendly, plus there's a discount for paying in cash.

Usually love Bento House but this time the fried tofu had zero flavour- all the Korean sauce had just been dried up in the batter and the tofu was just a bland texture in the middle. Was much better before. The chicken noodle soup also just tasted like very basic broth with veg and chicken. No flavour. Had to reheat and add our own spices and stock to it. It was reminiscent of school roast dinners but in slightly flavoured water. Disappointing this time. However, the sushi was good and they gave a good amount of ginger and wasabi so was happy with that.

Spoke to restaurant and they were polite and apologetic but ultimately the meal was inedible: salmon seemed barely defrosted. Sushi generally flavourless. Beef teriyaki were large strips of braising steak that were tougher than rubber. This meal ended up in the bin. Never had such a bad meal from a restaurant.

The sushi that we ordered was very tasty and the crispy duck sushi was still a pleasant warmth by the time it came even despite the distance, and the rest of the sushi was very good. The driver was very good and fast and overall it was a lovely experience through and through. Would/will order from here again.

Before ordering, the expectation was 35-40min. We ordered at 21:18 and received it at 22:55… A little delay is acceptable, but I think this time it was too long.

Nothing was as it should be, sizzling dishes were made up of un-marinated cold left overs from previous dishes, likely the day before. Not what was expected at all. More rice than main or veg. Sashimi was grey and slimy, unexpectedly warm. Expensive, bland, inexcusable. Inedible, Avoid.

Outstanding quality and service. This restaurant is my ‘go to’ treat, whether it be during the working week or the weekend.

Great chefs and food is great to eat in as always. Family run business and but not sure they should charge service charge....

The waiting time was unbelievable and it yet took extra 15mins for the food. Food was good, it wouldn’t give it a 5 but still good. I am probably not ordering from this place again.

My partner and I love it here! Always really enjoy the food and refurb looks great. Good value and very tasty.

They gave us the wrong main dish (with meat instead of without)

The pork fried rice has a lot of bones in. An unfortunate surprise for my teeth. The miso soup was very weak. Not enough miso to water. Sizzling, chicken with vegetable on rice, topped with an egg was delicious though.

I love Korean food. Unfortunately that wasn't Korean food. I ordered hot and spicy stew, it tasted like hot water soup :( and the teokbokki was bland. Such a shame because good Korean food is the best! I would highly not recommend ordering from here.

Sushi maki and sashimi was good, miso soup and tempura were really not great at all. Driver was friendly.

I have tried many Korean restaurants/take aways but but far this is the best in Bristol. The food actually tastes like the chief cares about the food that is served, it tastes just like home made food that has been made with love. The restaurant decor isn't as glamours as many other restaurants but the food shines above all the rest. End of the day its all about the food and the auora, if u want to eat healthy, quality good food you will not find another better in Bristol.

I’ve had bulgogi dishes many times. They have been delicious! Today I wanted to try a new one. It has squid & pork together. Im struggling to eat it. Its way to salty. It had bacon, pork & squid. Possibly anchovies. Its a thick red soup of salt and spice. It’s not edible to me. Sorry to say 🤷🏻‍♂️

The food was not what I was expecting at all. The katsu curry tastes like a curry from Chinese, the Korean food tastes very mediocre. Overall lots to improve.

Sooooo disappointed!! Just awful!! I’ve eaten here once before and it had been really good, I don’t often get take aways as I can’t afford to. I decided to treat myself as I’ve had a really bad month. I was really looking forward to it and I ordered 3 items which cost around £30, which is a lot for me to spend £30 on a meal for myself. As soon as I opened it I was shocked to see the vegetable dumplings/gyozas were black. I actually took photos as I couldn’t believe a restaurant could send food out that burnt! I tried to eat one but it was so burnt and over cooked it was inedible. I’ve eaten them loads over the years and I’ve never received burnt gyozas from any restaurant before. Then I tried the teriyaki salmon it was also massively over cooked so that it was dry and hard to cut, not only that but it smelt really bad as if it wasn’t fresh or was off. The California maki was the only thing I ordered that was edible and the avocados in it were black. I was so incredibly disappointed to treat myself and then not actually be able to eat it. I honestly could not believe that any restaurant could send food out like that. You could clearly see through the container that the dumplings were badly burnt and could smell the fish wasn’t right and was over cooked. Very disappointing costly mistake!

Food was amazing and will definitely order again

This was the worst take away I have ever had! The chicken katsu sauce was HP brown sauce! The prawn nigiri tasted of mould!! I literally threw up after one bite. The sushi is obviously frozen and was disgusting. The ribs were so fatty and chewy they couldn’t be eaten. Worse still, my partner phoned them up to say how disappointed we were and to ask for a refund please. They started questioning him about what percentage we had eaten of it! He said we would be throwing the entire thing in the bin. They said you must have eaten some of it though and that they might do a refund but only a percentage based on how much was eaten!!!! My partner said we’ve eaten a few mouthfuls literally nothing more and that if they were that bothered they could come and collect it! He said it would be in the original boxes in a black bag outside the front door. They kept phoning back saying there wasn’t anything wrong with the food. And that yes they would come and get it but not in a black bag (as this would apparently be them collecting our rubbish!!!!). So they demanded we put it back in the original bags it came in. We did this and when they arrived they got it all out and put the boxes on the front step and started photographing it all. I have never had a more revolting take away nor worse/bizarre customer service!

To be honest, this time around the food wasn't so great from Bento House which was really disappointing. The Korean style tofu had no flavour whatsoever so had to put loads of soy sauce on it to eat it. The vegetable dumplings were also pretty bland, burnt in parts, cold and also chewy. The sushi was nice but there wasn't a lot of ginger to go with it- and the rice, although it's meant to be sticky just felt stodgy as if it had been there for a while. Have to be honest about it because it was disappointing. I've had MUCH better from there before so I would order again but if it came like this next time I probably will find somewhere else to order from in future.

the noodles and dumplings were excellent. the set meal options were measly, really disappointing for £16. the squid did not come with any dipping sauce. the batter was too soft and tasteless. overall some good items but ultimately disappointing.

The beef stew spilled to plastic bag, barely can’t eat and it costs £10! Request refund.

Delivery was really fast for a Saturday night. Glass noodles looked more delicious than its taste. Not much beef in it either. Gan poong gi and chicken katsu curry was okay.

Not sure why my review was deleted so I'll post it again. Poor quality food and very small amounts of meat in the dishes. Some of the order was inedible. Nothing fresh about the food and even the miso soup was watery. Avoid.

Still waiting for food. When food was ordered it said estimated time 30-45 mins but after order placed the estimated time was 60-70 mins. After 1hr40mins still no food. Called the establishment and was told driver went to another address first which is further away when I am just 4mins drive. Still no food in sight, dying of starvation now and who knows where this food is.

Arrived hot and very tasty after an hour and ten minutes (within the app delivery time). Chicken katsu curry, chicken teryaki bento box and the nigiri were all delicious. Have used before and will definitely use again.

I pre-ordered for 12.45 and it arrived at 13.15, not helpful as my 3year old was over-hungry when it arrived and then refused to eat. I also want to complain that the avocado was as solid as wood and inedible. The California rolls were advertised as having crab meat but it was just a seafood stick. Those cost pennies compared to crab meat so I’m less than impressed. Finally the sashimi was a disappointment - clearly they’d run out of tuna because they’d just cut the pieces in half to make it look like they’d provided the right amount. The Just Eat “contact us” function on the website is laughable, this is literally the only way I’ve found to make contact with you!

The foot was absolutely incredible, the sushi is amazing and the beef terryaki was so good!! 100000% recommend this place, thank you ❤️

The food was disgusting totally vile I’m so glad I was given my money back from Deliveroo otherwise I’d be crying about the the thirty quid I spent it would never ever happen again with this restaurant and o truly do not complain but no this was bad

The salmon was almost still frozen, it was not only super cold but also the consistency was the one of something which is still defrosting. Also, i was shocked when i saw that no sushi sticks were delivered with my order. I had to eat with my fingers which was not nice at all.

Called again at 9 and was told they only have 2 drivers on (how is that an excuse when they said they could deliver in a set timeframe when they knew that at the time) and when I said that's not good enough when I am lied to and they say they can deliver within a set time so demanded a refund I was hung up on. Genuinely worst customer service I have ever experienced. Never using them again.

It was OK. The sushi was too cold and had obviously been in the fridge for hours. Prawn tempura maki was soggy. Seafood udon had a reasonable flavour but very light on actual seafood. It was a very western effort at sushi but it was OK for a takeout

Personally I'd prefer the miso soup to have a stronger miso flavour but as a whole extremely delicious.

Mediocre and late (and in a Thursday). Quality of ingredients was fine but not the best Korean I've had by a long way. Tteokbokki was disappointing. Rice was nicely cooked. Do not assume tofu means veggie. Won't go back

It was tasty and beautifully presented as normal but the Sashimi, especially the tuna, was quite thin and didn't feel like value for money.

The food was lovely, however.... our three meals were delivered in three plastic containers. Considering this was delivered in a car, with no real harm of spoilage, why are you using so much single-use plastic? Eco-friendly alternatives are readily available.

Friendly person delivered it and it was delicious! First time ordering from this place, would definitely recommend it.

Great food selection, and very tasty

Ordered a take away on line. Food ready on time. The quality was not as good as my family had previously experienced. The tempura batter was heavy and not cooked through, the salmon teriyaki and chicken teriyaki was overcooked and dry, the miso soup was almost tasteless. We shall not be returning.

Great food. The tempura vegetables are delicious and a big portion as well.

We really enjoyed the teriaki salmon which was delivered slightly early which was great. As usual, there was a call to collect from the door for safe and quick delivery. Sushi was made perfectly and tasted delicious as always - the sealed containers mean I can always keep some for lunch and even the avocado stays fresh.

Placed the order at 21:42, and received the food at 22:55. If I was in the restaurant and had to wait over 40 minutes for food I would not have paid - I would probably have walked out. The rice was a congealed lump by the time it arrived and the squid tempura was cold and the Ten Don was not only cold but really greasy. The rice and the tempura would've been much better if the order hadn't taken so long to arrive.

BLAND AS HELL! Had to add a lot of cupboard ingredients to make it taste of anything. Sushi came with the most rubbery octopus and squid (?!) that was so incredible I had to check it was real and not some weird packaging!! 🙃 overpriced and super plain. Will never ever order again 😵

Bento House cancelled our delivery around 1 hour and 30 mins after we ordered (which is when they closed for the night) they accepted the delivery but there was no warning that it would not arrive. The app updated to say it had arrived but it never did and when we tried to call them it said they were closed, such a shame a warning would have been nice so we could have ordered from else-where - just be careful if you are doing big orders an hour and half before closing time. My ratings are from previoius experiences I've had with them

Food was a bit disappointing. Over priced for what it was - especially the special salmon set meal which was over cooked fish with a lot of rice, a soggy salad and two gyoza dumplings for £13. The squid was pretty decent but the other meals were disappointing.

One part of the order was missing

Awful. Over 2 hours between ordering food and receiving it. They use Uber as their delivery service (and not via Uber Eats, just because they don’t have their own service). Rang to chase up the order and they didn’t apologise or offer any substantive feedback on why the order was so late. Appalling.

Our first order from Bento as a treat & it was great! Fresh & tasty. The miso soup was still hot enough to need cooling.

Food missing from order, food arrived after 1hr40 and cold, didn't answer phone when calling, hung up on me when I did get through. My last (also late) order here the delivery driver swore at me because apparently my house was hard to find! NEVER ordering from you again.

This was the first time ordering from Bento House and we are so glad we did. My daughter and I both had the the Japchae, which was delicious and a portion of perfect pork dumplings to share. We were notified our order was going to be slightly late due demand and it arrived piping hot at the stated time, by a very friendly driver using proper contact free methods, so we had no issue with the any aspect of the service or order. We look forward to ordering from you again.
