I came here a while back but didn’t get round to leaving a review. I’m from london, and I went to Bristol to visit family. We came out to eat and we chose this place. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. It was a nice and chilled vibe and a very relaxing experience. This place is good for a meal for two or even a meal for the family. I enjoyed my visit.

The food here is terrible and the employees are not respected at all. The chefs change a lot because the employees do not get paid. The bosses are very rude and do not pay the employees. It is very bad.

This place is boarded up as from 19th August 23. It is permanently or temporarily closed.

Very friendly staff , service and food excellent, would definitely visit again.

As i was working there and i chased them couple of times and requested to get my wages.I tried to speak with their boss they gave me just an excuses all the times. They don't respect their workers. They are not paying the wages of their workers on time and behaving very rudely. I used to work over there but for some personal reasons and i left the job but still struggling to get her wages and they are not listening.

It was one of my best experiences I’ve had in a long time the staff were very helpful and lovely and the food was amazing for very reasonable prices we will definitely be back .

A great place to go for an excellent meal and good service. My wife and I were unexpectedly seeking an evening meal in the Gloucester Road area on a quiet Monday evening and happened upon the Wusar Turkish restaurant. We received a friendly reception and enjoyed an excellent meal. My wife had a vegetarian moussaka and I chose Chicken Shiah with Yoghurt. Both meals were excellent and the total cost with wine and coffee a very reasonable £53.

Biggest waste of money and time I have ever seen in my life we how a wusar plate for 3-4 people the quality was really bad 😞 we where very hungry after a hard day at work and we couldn't eat it 😔 PLEASE STAY AWAY for your own good 👍

See this place on Google thought it would be good but the platers where very bad chicken and lamb kofta was under cooked which made my freind be sick and unpleasant not comming back again!

I ve had several meals at Wusar . After a couple of management changes the portion sizes have got less and less and the quality of food not as good. Last night we again went to Wusar, my partner ordered a mousakka. What arrived was a dish which looked like all potatoe and no meat . She pointed this out to waiting staff who took the dish away and brought back almost the same dish. Very disappointing .

I've been a regular for the last two years visiting about every six weeks. It has always been good quality and enjoyable. Over our last three visits things have changed. Lots of those little touches have gone. The jug of water has disappeared as has the bowl of salad you'd get with your meal, as well as the little touches like roasted peppers and tomatoes on your main dish. The complimentary breads and dips were actually really good last night but the quantity of the dips and olives reduced. The staff were friendly and helpful as usual but when I asked on my last two visits if the restaurant was under new management, I was told no !! Clearly it was because as a regular there had been a complete staff change !! I've since read in the local paper there has been !! I ordered a prawn cocktail last night. This consisted of a huge bowl of very cheap tiny prawns that look as though the sauce had been added before they'd been defrosted, very runny and flavourless. The prawns were tasteless and far too cold. This was served with no salad or bread as standard. I then had ordered the meat mousaka which I've eaten many times there. I was given a slab of mashed potato with a tomato sauce. I asked for a replacement to be given the same again. They did kindly deduct this off the bill and give us complimentary coffee. There's really no excuse for this, it should never have been served. Neither is it fair on your waiting staff to expect them to service this at £16 to paying customers. I've always loved this restaurant it's such a shame.

One of only a couple of proper Turkish restaurants in Bristol, this is a spacious place on the Gloucester Road. Exceptionally friendly service, including elaborate interest in the one-year old member of our party. We had a terrific array of starters - falafel, Hellim salad, Kleftiko, taramasalata - and mains including shish kebab. With two bottles of excellent Cankaya Kavaklidere, baklava and coffee, the bill came to £196.36 for four.

Really good atmosphere, great food and friendly team working, visited on 24th and 25th May for wedding dinner. Looking for the same in Southampton. Thank you for making my visit to Bristol really good looking forward to visiting again.

Comfy chairs, nice atmosphere, and friendly staff.. Those are the positives. The waiters were not well trained, they didn't know what some of the sauces they put on our table were and brought us wine but left without opening it. We ordered the meat platter for 5 people but its about enough for 3, it was £95 but we were all hungry afterwards. Lots of salt doesn't hide low quality food. A table spoon of rice per person was not enough. The olives were the worst I've ever had. Probably won't be back unfortunately but has potential

Best spot in bristol yet!!! Service on time, staff immediately attended our needs. Takes me back to days being in Turkey. Much recommend to anyone looking for a dining experience.

The lamb liver, chicken wings and lamb kofte were well seasoned and tasty. However the value for money of the sharing platter for 4 was not worth it especially compared to other alternatives in the area. The portion size of the platter was small for the price (with very small amounts of rice and bulgur), under seasoned, and the restaurant was only half full but the service was pretty slow.

Went here for lunch today. Was very, very pleased with the service and food. Had a Lamb liver & hummus starter (with complimentery bread and dips) and the lamb tava. They were delicious 😁 And I've saved it on my liked ones so definitely will come back again when I'm in the area 😊

Over priced for Non Turkish food .more like from macro and heated up!

I made a reservation and it was not respected, we are sitting outside!

I can’t say nothing about food but the staff is really bad we make a reservation from 7 a cloak and when we arrive all was full, group of 7 people come from Taunton 1 hour drive and spend 1 more hour outside for a table!

Firstly I was driving and sober. I left my friends at 8pm to find a place for takeaway and go home. This looked great. That’s where it ends. I had a lamb and halloumi wrap with fries. £10. Reasonable. As I waited for nearly 35 minutes I witnessed the utter carnage of this restaurant. I lost count of the people that came up to complain, from missing food, drinks, something not right…. An utter circus. The tension and frustration in the place was palpable. I firmly believe that chickens with their heads cut off would’ve done a better job. The fear for my food began. Eventually I saw a ‘person’ prep the 2cm wide wrap and then left said wrap on the side. I had to remind various members of staff that my food was sat there getting cold. Only to be told ‘CHIPS’. Another few minutes passes and the ‘CHIPS’ arrived. Gotta say I left not holding out much hope, but hope I had. Hope let me down. This utter shambles let me down. The wrap was laughable. No flavour, in fact my bad, you can’t have flavour when there is barely anything in it. I did experience something I never had before, I could actually taste the starch in the ‘CHIPS’. They were so undercooked I could still see the mud on them. By this point I was some distance from this utter sh*thouse and was so hungry I began to eat. Not much passed through my mouth until it was disposed off into a bin. I wouldn’t of even left it for the vermin to eat, that would’ve been cruel. Now I hear you say why didn’t you go back. Quite frankly I didn’t have the energy to argue with the clowns.

Absolutely amazing Turkish restaurant situated on Gloucester Road in Bristol. The service was amazing and the food had great flavours and cooked to perfection. A little on the expensive side but we'll worth it

tiny portions, really slow service eventhough there wasnt alot of people. food wasnt bad but it was cold. 2 of our platters came and the other platter took another 15 minutes. they brought something else instead of what was ordered, slow service but nice waiters

I ordered for two people, and I was surprised that the price was higher than it was in the order list, so you have to check before paying.

One star just for the waiter who tried to be nice, informing food might be a little long as it’s New Year’s Eve and giving bread olives and salad ‘on the house’ We ordered a wusar set meal for 2, and compared to Lona and any other place that does platters. It’s literally 7 small pieces of meat with a table spoon of rice and bulgar. Took an hour to get food and about 30 minutes for drinks. The meat was so salty, god knows how you’d eat it! Anyways at the end, went to pay and she almost charged me double until I corrected her. Even then it was still wrong (about £5 more as they charged for the ‘on the house’ items lol. I couldn’t be bothered to argue, so paid as I won’t be coming back. Good luck if you do go, don’t expect the best.

The service was pleasant but the food was tough and chewy I was originally going to go Lonas which is up the road but thought to try something different. When explained to the woman she said her boss was there to speak to so I ended up paying full price for food I did not enjoy and didn’t eat! I would not recommend!

Very dear compared to Lonas where their platter for three people is the same price 50 pounds and you get what you pay for in terms of quality and quantity of food where as Wusu are a joke. I was shocked when I opened my food to see what 50 pound got my family. Will never order from them again! Lonas every time!

Amazing place to enjoy your time with your family. I would recommend it to everyone to try. My family is very fussy about food, I was very nicely surprised to see that the food was to my family's taste. The atmosphere is relaxing, and the service was excellent. Thanks to the waitress who served us, and the management.

With new staff and a new chef. The decor and the menu are the same, but neither the cooking, the portions or the service are as good as they used to be. One of the waitresses seemed to speak hardly any English. Sorry, but Wusar, sadly, is no longer on my list of favourite places to eat.

New staff all the time it’s like they drop like flies. There’s something weird going on here maybe needs new management.

The best Turkish Meal we've had outside of Turkey. Large range of dishes reasonably priced. Complimentary bread, dips, olives and salad came out whilst awaiting starters. Everything cooked to perfection. They have white and red wines from Turkey as well as more global drink options. We couldn't manage all the sharing platter so the waitress was kind enough to bring out a takeaway box - which we'll devour tomorrow. This a place we'll revisit time and again.

I went for dinner at Wusar with my boyfriend and we both loved it! The food was great and the staff were amazing! The atmosphere of the place is also very nice and relaxed and the food portions were huge and very reasonably priced! We'll definitely go back!

Absolutely fantastic food. Somehow from the outside it seems an unassuming place, maybe the understated sign or something. The food is an absolute explosion of taste and colours. Expertly balanced. I regret not coming here sooner. Will definitely be back soon. I’m probably going to struggle exploring the rest of the menu as I enjoyed what I had so much so it will be difficult to order other things. But I’ll do my best.

Wow they need a new chef. My prawn starter smelled very fishy. I bit into it and spat it out. Then the main wasn’t nice and on top of that had a hair in it. First and last time for me.

This restaurant is lovely. The waiters and manager were really friendly and welcoming. My husband and I ordered a platter for 2 which was really tasty. Complimentary fresh bread, salad and sauces were given before any of the food was served which was delicious. After the food, complimentary Turkish tea was served. My overall experience was a 5/5 and would definitely come again.

We came here as a previous booking in Westbury Mezze and Grill village failed to materialise. The staff were fantastic and we took some of the food home for supper. Two pensioners one disabled and we were treated superbly well

This restaurant is amazing. Great food with complementary starters when u wait for ur mains , staff are so welcoming and kind. Good for kids as well. Food portions are great and the flavour of the food is amazing.

Wine with ample choice and a good selection of other drinks both alcohol and soft.Card payments accepted on our visit and with regards to parking, it is on a very busy road so no, it's not easy but it is also on a bus route for several services so easily accessible.Would recommend HIGHLY

We chose this based on convenient location given our plans for the evening. We are delighted we did. My wife, son and I enjoyed fabulous food and warm service throughout our meal. The hot starter platter was excellent with sausage, falafel, the best calamari and scampi among others. We had mixed shish, salmon and chicken beyti and couldn't fault any of it. If you are around Bristol I would thoroughly recommend Wusar.

RUBBISH!! Experienced a 3.5 hour wait for my food and when my salad arrived I found a hair in it. The manager was rude, aggressive and very unpleasant! I will never come back here again!

I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!! This was the WORST experience of my life. Waited 3.5 hours of food, found hair in our food, experienced racism and got aggressed by owner. We had booked our table and paid a deposit as we were a large group, but when we arrived we were treated like we were invisible. After waiting 2 hours for food we were going to leave as we had not been served but owner promised it was coming and agreed to discount our bill by 50% BUT instead, after 3.5 hours of waiting to finally get our food, when we came to pay all we got was the owner yelling at us to pay the bill in full and when we said no he got VERY aggressive and violent. This experience had been booked for someone’s birthday and all we got was DISAPPOINTMENT. I will NEVER come back here again.

Food is pricey but worth the money as really tasty. We went on a Saturday evening and they were understaffed, food took ages and mistake with orders. We were made aware before ordering that they were busy but they should bring in more staff during busy days.

Booked a table for 12 people during a hot summers day. The service was good, attentive staff. The food was OK, there are better Arabian/Persian restaurants in Bristol. The platters were smaller than expected. There wasn't any air-conditioning in the restaurant which made the experience rather uncomfortable.

Trip Advisor states that this restaurant is closed until January 2023. That is incorrect. It is open currently. We had an amazing meal today. Very flavourful, good sized portions. Friendly staff. We will come back soon.

Couldn't disagree more with the last review. Three of us had had a fabulous lunch yesterday. Shared the Wusar 2-3 people platter and we could not finish it as it was so generous. Very quiet at midday, so a relaxed take-your-time social lunch for three was perfect. The service was aimiable, with on-the house Turkish dips and bread to start with. We had two lamb shish, one moussaka, one pudding and three coffees. Plus a bottle of Turkish white wine, recommended by the waiter and very good, well chilled. This is not cheap but good value at £78. Came away well satisfied and will go again.

Very poor and dark interior design plus poor quality cutlery. Starter bread was oily which was a surprise to us all. Starter sides were extraordinary spicy. We ordered kofte which was very salty. The rice was so oily that we couldn't finish. I guess they had pour lots of oil on top of the food after serving the dish. They don't accept card, so i had to draw cash from a cash machine from somewhere else nearby. Finding a parking in that area was also not easy. Staff were friendly and food hygein was OK, that is why I score them 2.

Turned up after 10pm on a Monday night with two elderly people in tow. Happy to accommodate and staff were so caring and warm throughout. Special mention of high quality service to Shaz and also to the chef who knocked up an absolutely delicious platter...

Good food let down by poor service. Couple having dinner around 8.45 on a Saturday night, restaurant half empty, seated immediately. Drinks arrived after starters after prompting waiter, one starter missing and never materialised but was on the bill. Mains arrived, had asked for Greek salad with no olives. Salad arrived, complete with olives. Waitress removed and brought second salad which had olives but no onions. Mixed grill was nice, meat nice flavours and all cooked well. Rice disappointing. Salad issue mentioned when we asked for the unseen houmous to be removed, but waitress stated salad would still be charged. Overall for £47 not ideal but mostly due to front of house not kitchen - seems that wait staff also man the bar, pot wash etc. In need of a manager to run things smoothly, checkbacks etc. We tried Wusar first time after being long time LONA fans, we would not return to wusar and would recommend you walk 100yds down the road where we have never had a bad meal

Fantastic restaurant. Quiet Saturday evening, so it was nice n quiet. Lots of space. Nice ambience. Great food, great service. Great portions. We shared a main with a side! Will be back! 5*

We were served by the lovely Bushra. She was so helpful. The food was nice. Then we were served complimentary Turkish tea and dessert and it was like the cherry on the cake after the nice meal. I am going to come again and try more dishes. الاكل لذيذ و كانو كريمين جدا بالخبز و بالاخير ضيفونا شاي تركي و حلى.

We went around late afternoon 4:30. We had adana kofte (minced lamb on skewers), fries, Turkish bread, chilli sauce, white dip, cous cous, Coke Zero and blue lagoon mocktail. adana kofta was on point as well as the fries (slightly older oil which you can tell by the yellow colour, but the taste and quality of the fries were excellent), amazing thin fresh Turkish bread with some kind of kebab spice flavouring (was awesome watching the Chef prepare it too from the open kitchen), nice white dip (could only have a small amount as I am lactose intolerant), the best Turkish chilli sauce, expected Coke Zero which fills up their large glass, and blue lagoon mocktail (non-alcohol) which according to my fellow diner tastes like a lemony sprite and was very good. Only downside was the cous cous which according to my fellow diner did not taste as fresh as the last few times we have visited. All in all, freshness, flavour, portion size, value (£41 only!), service (the waitress was really attentive and they have a little button on the table to call the waitress over which is such a handy and polite way, both ways, of requesting and receiving service), was all excellent. I wish I could have given it five stars (would definitely have given it 4 and a 1/2 if the option was available), just the cous cous held it back. Otherwise, I hope management takes this review well as I believe they will receive many 5*'s! Would definitely recommend to fellow eaters visiting Bristol.

We frequently visit this lovely restaurant. Last night was no exception. My husband, son, daughter in law and I were impressed by the friendliness and attentiveness of the waiting staff. The quality of the food, the ambiance created by well chosen background music. The manner in which the staff addressed my husband's meal was appreciated. I highly recommend this restaurant. I could literally order anything from their superb menu!

VERY BAD FOOD AND SERVICE!! I DON’T RECOMMEND AT ALL!! Not well cooked grill meat, very poor service, small and expensive portions!! I visited this restaurant with my family today in Gloucester Road. We chose Wusar 2- mixed grill for 4 to 5 people that includes Mezze, grills and salads. He took ages to bring the Mezze with small amount of bread! The mixed grill plate was small, meat not well cooked- some of it raw, same applies to Butghul wheat, and expensive: £85!! I usually eat in Turkish restaurants in London: Bigger portions in meat and rice and burghul wheat, well cooked, generous, cleaner, and I pay less- about £75! Gokyuzu is one of them. They forgot to bring the salad which was included in The bundle Wusar 2. They forgot to bring the chips that I ordered for my kids. They don’t give you enough hand towels. And then when u tell them about all these things, they say they are too busy, though there was bearly 10 people in the restaurant!! They tried to bribe us with some sweets to take home, which of course I refused! All in all, Very Bad restaurant and service!! I don’t recommend!

Superb food, excellent service and great value. Kids meals were fantastic and we all ended up with plenty of food to take home. Turkish wines were lovely and felt like we were on holiday for the whole meal. New neighbourhood favourite :)
