Great place. Excellent prices, and staff too.

Came for a christening. Upstairs bar was closed, so had to keep going down for drinks. Toilets need a makeover.

We booked the function room for our wedding reception. Cannot fault it. The room was beautifully decorated and the staff were lovely. Angie was fantastic, really went the extra mile for us, and the buffet was enjoyed by all. Thank you for helping make our wedding day special!

Celebrated my 50th birthday here with over 80 guests in the upstairs function room- a fantastic venue and great staff. Angie the landlady is the real gem- going that extra mile to ensure the whole process from decorating the room to sorting the buffet was smooth and easy. Friendly, helpful, real value for money, we couldn’t recommend more highly! Thanks everyone!

We had our (delayed) wedding reception here. Lot’s of problems kept cropping up which the landlady Angie came up with solutions. The room was decorated and it looked lovely. All the staff were superb. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

My twin brother Stephen and I were in Lancaster for a four day break ,we hit most every pub in this beautiful town ,one that really stayed in my memory was The Park Hotel. This is a superb pub,traditional interior, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a really good pub to chill out. We were here on a Tuesday evening, pub was busy with a great atmosphere ,we were greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the bar team, we ordered an ale each from Thwaites Brewery, these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced pale ale, hints of toffee and a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew. We really enjoyed our ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Park Hotel we had a great time. The Park Hotel is easy to locate along St Oswald Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, Open from 11am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area .

We went here on our way to the Lancaster brewery and went here for a few beers.An excellent pub which was busy even on our visit early in the afternoon.When we visited we had a Thwaites brewery beer each that was superb and really well priced.This is a superb pub and well worth a visit and very easy to find from Park Hotel bus stop its a minute walk. Popped in (outside!) for a couple of pints today and the welcome was as friendly as it was when I was a student over 20 years ago. The beer was still the same, Thwaite Smooth and it was great to reminisce. Looks nice inside and when back open that it'll have a good selection of beers. Hopefully won't be another 20yrs before I'm back again. Thanks for the friendly warm welcome.

Went to a party upstairs but spent a bit of time in main bar downstairs. Enjoyed both. Good service, well kept cask ales and fabulous meat and potato hotpot. Place was busy which is always a good sign. Well run pub, friendly service and tasty grub. What's not to like.

It's got a great atmosphere and it's venue for the super league darts is also great. The only bad thing is that the bar upstairs could have been opened so that we could get drinks there instead of having to go downstairs to get them

Grew up in this Park... Not biased but the most gorgeous park in the UK

Just got back from attending my godson's christening at The Park. Spent a lot of my youth there at various raves where it was always very welcoming but a little tatty. It was lovely to see it refurbished and looking great. The staff were brilliant and the drinks were very reasonably priced. I thoroughly recommend.

Went to a friend's party here - the lady behind the bar was terrific, she was on her own but managed to sort everyone's orders quickly and even remembered what drinks we had ordered before, amazing! Great venue for a function, highly recommended.

Really good quality drink and food here, the best risotto I've ever had.

I had one of my birthdays here. Lovely spot to hang out with my friends, and also watch some Premiership Football Games. Lovely place and animal friendly so you may have your dog in too, and you will not be discriminated- at least the last time I checked

Very nice pub. Lovely staff. I played pool there and it's free to play, which is brilliant. It was in the afternoon so nice and quiet.

I quite like The Park, a well-run Thwaites boozer which is a local but not 'just' for locals, if you understand. Absolutely rammed on a Friday night and a far better atmosphere than the trendy foodie/ale snob establishments nearby.

The pub itself is perfectly nice and cosy inside. My main concern is that the only real ales are the boring Thwaites Original and Thwaites Wainwrights. They should stock some better quality, non Thwaites ales.

Good local pub with reasonable food. Clean and well maintained. Good atmosphere especially on open mic nights. Shows all main sporting events on a projector. Reasonable variety of drinks unless you like cider... The only option is strongbow.

Visiting family and this was nearby.Landlady and landlord very pleasant.Thwaites beer was very good. Clean and tidy. Service was prompt and friendly. Function room with own bar upstairs.Did not eat but menu looked good,will eat next visit as we will return. Free wifi,quizzes and meat raffle. Good place if you do not want to go all the way into town(or struggle uphill afterwards)Several buses stop very nearby.

The Park is very smart and comfortable following a recent refurbishment. It serves a couple of ales, all from Thwaites. The Burrito's were popular with the friends I was with. There are a couple of bar games as well.

We booked the function room here for the second year running for our karate club Christmas Party. Never again! We have been let down twice now. We have booked it only to be told later we couldn't have it. Poor service! I like to support local business but don't book your functions here. They will let you down

I've eaten at the Goburrito in Lancaster many times, and I've been meaning to give The Park a go. The two of us went today (a Saturday) at lunchtime at around 1 o'clock. It was fairly quite but not dead. The decor is lovely and we both had a pint of Wainwright which was really well kept. I ordered a pulled pork burrito and my husband had nachos with chilli beef, we also ordered a portion of fries and slaw to share. Altogether, with the drinks, it came to a very reasonable £18 and we were stuffed afterwards. The food was excellent quality, really tasty, and my burrito was stuffed with meat. I will certainly be returning, this place is fantastic!

The Park is a fantastic pub. Great land lady and land lord - they care a lot about their customers. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and drinks are super cheap. All round a lovely place!

The food was excellent, the quality and taste of the ingredients were fantastic, and the price is so reasonable for what you get that this would have been a 5 star for me, other than the clientele that were in when we visited. Now don't get me wrong this is a pub (first and foremost) but I will definitely pick and choose my next meal time. I visited with my better half and friends on Saturday before a theatre excursion at The Grand in Lancaster, so it was a Saturday tea time. Which means that fans of Saturday Afternoon drinking were in there and by there behaviour and language had been in there for several hours. I like a drink and I have been known to utter the odd obscenity but one or two of the patrons were almost unable to stand unassisted, and this had a negative effect of the overall experience. GO Burrito do the most amazing food in the centre of town, and this will be a success because the quality of the food and the cost are so good, but there needs to be a clear delineation between the drinkers and the eaters (or at least a choice!!). So to drill down a bit- The food I would rate a strong 4.5 out of 5 and for the type of food possibly even a 5!! The dogs were very good, the onion rings amazing and the flavour combinations both plentiful and interesting. The prices were very good, a 9" hot dog and bun with a range of topping were from £5 to £8, with an extra 'dog' only £2. And you have choice of onion rings or seasoned fries (both excellent). The extra (although untried on this night) looked interesting. the décor was good and the place was clean so that is a minimum 4 out of 5 , and the staff were friendly and polite so 4.5 for them!! But I won't go on a Saturday Tea time again because the atmosphere was down to a 3 MAXIMUM!!! So in conclusion, do try this, the food is worth it and the prices are great, but try when it is not full of idiots who cannot handle their drink and don't have a large enough vocabulary to not swear in every sentence, and to the Park- please utilise a quiet space (if available) for diners that are there for something to eat and not to party!!

We were very pleased with the Park Hotel as a venue for my daughter’s 21st Birthday celebration. The location is near the centre of Lancaster so the kids continued the celebration in the City Centre clubs after midnight. Mandy, Ian and all the staff were really helpful from the outset. We had the buffet provided by the pub, it was excellent and got a lot of compliments. There was no pressure we did have the choice to provide our own food or get outside catering if we wanted. With a few of our helium balloons and banners on the tables the room looked really good. There is a overhead projector which we managed to connect to our laptop to show embarrassing photos!Although guests were coming and going through the evening, we had around a hundred at one stage, it accommodated them comfortably. Equally it is compact enough to not appear empty in the early evening with fewer guests.With a good location, a bar in the room, a small dance area and a separate room for serving food the Park is an excellent choice for a low cost friendly venue.Thank you to Mandy and Ian for helping to make it a special occasion for our family.Best Regards,John

Visited The Park for a meal with family and the service and food was excellent. The Go Burrito food was also fantastic and amazing value. Overall a wonderful atmosphere and fantastic staff!

With GoBurrito now doing the food the Park Hotel really is a great place to eat, I am one fussy eater but can recommend everything on the menu as the food is just that good! Brilliant service and a good atmosphere, well done.

We attended a Christening party at this venue on Sunday. The place was spotless and the buffet most enjoyable. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. One negative would be the lack of tables and chairs in the function room - however this was quickly sorted out and an extra table added. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

We had our daughters christening in the new refurbished function room at the Park yesterday and we had a lovley day the buffet was a real bargin and plenty of food for everyone plus the staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble would thouroughly recommend the park for your private function. Visited the Park for a Christening party.The room upstairs was ideal for the event with around 80 attendees.Management and staff were very helpful and pleasant and the buffet food was plentiful and of good quality.Would recommend for this type of function.

I was very disappointed by the meal served to me at the Park Hotel - particularly because it is almost impossible to eat tacos served in a plastic basket! I don't mean a plastic bowl made to look like a basket, but an actual basket with holes through it.We dropped into the Park Hotel for a quick lunch and were surprised to see that the menu was quite limited - if you don't like Mexican food, there seems to be no alternative on offer. To be fair there are lots of dishes listed on the menu but on closer examination, they are basically variations on about 8 things...the same dish with chicken, pulled pork, beans etc. I had ordered spicy chicken tacos, and they were not attractively presented...the tacos were filled with ragged-looking bits of chicken and very wet tomato scattered with greenery, tucked into the basket on top of a thin paper napkin and the whole thing was handed over without even a plate underneath.We had to ask for knives and forks as these were not provided. Tasting it didn't make me feel much better - the chicken seemed to have been shredded and the only evidence of spice was in what tasted like tomato salsa from a jar. My friend had ordered pulled pork and was served what looked like chicken. A tight schedule meant that we had to eat at least some of the food but frankly wished we had gone elsewhere...service was friendly enough, the pub is quite attractive both inside and out but I won't be going back for food.

Went for the Fish Tacos special and a King Pig. Absolutely excellent, tremendous food now GoBurrito are doing the catering. An absolute bargain at twice the price, both the tacos and King Pig are highly recommended. Can't wait to find an excuse to go again - its within very easy walking distance of the White Cross Business Park, so if you know anyone working there, tell them to give the place a try!

It's a nice pub but not particularly exciting or cheap. There is a well-sized venue for hire upstairs but they charge quite a lot of money for it's use. Several events are held here that make the pub more lively and perhaps the recent addition of GoBurrito to the venue will add some atmosphere to an otherwise 'perfectly okay' establishment.

Just bobbed in here for an early doors pint and a snack. Nachos with cheese and home made salsa. Chunks of red onion pepper and fresh tomato. Best nachos we have ever had for 3.95. Menu is a really good mix of meat veggie and vegan with some interesting ideas. Nepalese dumplings meat veggie or vegan. But also chicken salad and coq au vin on the specials. Yum! Hearty food without being too worthy. Just dead good home cooking. Reasonably priced. Going back for a proper meal next week.

Lovely decor; TVs positioned where the football fans can always have an unobstructed view. The beer's not so good, though, Wainwright tastes like battery acid, but maybe I've just caught them on a bad day.
