Wok Express in Lancaster

Tried for the first time in a while. Had special in honey and chilli sauce. Deep fried. Fried rice Won tons. Deep fried oreos. Sauce was tasty. Needed something extra but not sure what. Maybe more garlic. But I'd definitely have it again. Lots of meat. Only two prawns as usual. The rice was as you'd expect. Nothing special. The won tons we're not so good. For the size of the casing you'd think there'd be a noticeable amount of filling. I couldn't find any. The faintest amount of chew filling. Would not recommend these. The oreos are nice. First time I've tried them. Nothing on them though. No icing sugar or anything. Wouldve been 4 stars if the wontons were better. Would recommend and will be trying again.

Used this takeaway all the time Always been good food however last night we ordered chicken curry and beef satay as soon as I took a,few mouthful of the curry I knew the chicken was off so I threw it in the Bin my husband ate the beef and all day today has done nothing but vomit 🤢 so obviously something possible wrong with this dish too.i rang last night to let the takeaway know about the curry there response was "what do you want me to do " !!!!!

I ordered chicken chowmein and salt and pepper chicken on last Saturday I requested them to make it spicy but I think they didn't even put salt into it.i was very disappointed and its second time.salt &pepper chicken was nice but portion is very small.

Extremely unreasonable long waiting time for a fast food takeaway. Asking the one when will the food be ready and he just responded stay calm instead.

I’ve been living in lancs for 4 years now, and Wok Express is my go to. Is their food the best? Probably not. But are they consistent in their level of standards. Yes. They have never failed to deliver a decent chinese. They once got the mock duck order wrong by putting real duck in it, however, they replaced it at no extra charge which was great. Their service is very fast too. The food is usually ready between 30 and 45 mins (if living in town). However, I cant vouch for all the menu items but my go to order is the crispy chilli beef which is actually crispy, sweet and delicious. Their egg fried rice needs improvement flavour-wise, a bit bland but all in all it gets the job done. The seaweed is sweet but a little overpriced, but the free (over £25 order) spring rolls and prawn crackers are good. Their noodles are pretty good and anything from the salt and pepper section is a safe bet. All in all there’s only one thing I need to say; Thanks for your reliability. Wok Express.

Getting home with takeaway only to realise they had got the order wrong, not supplied sauce, food inedible without it. Poor service and probably won't use again

Have used wok for a number of years now, But today's order was the final straw. Last meal ordered bits missing and lacking in its usual high taste. Tonight's. Shambles from start to finish. Parts missing, wrong food sent, tasteless, Rang up to say what had gone wrong, Offered to send me out a portion off bbq sauce. Ordered a portion of water chestnut and bamboo shoots, well no water chestnuts in it at all, carrots onions,spring onions,peppers. Defo not a portion of water chestnut and bamboo shoots. I was told its a new type of bamboo shoots that they are using and they don't have any water chestnut??? Will not be going back there anymore. Wether they have a new chef or not but defo changed for the worse. STAY CLEAR......

I ordered as usual unfortunately i never had n complaints normal great still deliver quick as usual this tim i got a salt n pepper big box £12.50 so bargain for me as normally this place is quite good but this time my box was mostly full of onions rings and beef that completeley with no beef just biscuit bits , no beef and chicken not sure it was just rock hard in middle , unfortunately had to give 1 review sorry wok express your normally good

best boba tea in town my hand is 18cm tall for reference, £4 for a fat cup of boba tea (with red bean and pudding) is a mad deal i heard their brown sugar boba is pretty good too as for the food i don't really know tbh but i'm sure it's pretty decent

The best Chinese take away in Lancaster. Each meal is enough for 2 people. The quality is always excellent. The food arrives hot and is always delivered within the quoted time. Plenty of choice on the menu to cover all dietary preferences and needs. Always a friendly response on the phone. The quality of the food is always excellent. We have tried many of the meals in the last few years and have never been disappointed. The prices are good and not excessive for any extras such as prawn toast etc. Closed on Tuesdays.

Food was delicious and very reasonable prices .We ordered chicken curry prawn curry and salt and pepper chicken wings 2 fried rice chips and prawn crackers. It cost £19.40.

Well only problem was ordering when 1st opened,it took a while to get here but not disappointed with the food at all. The ribs were the hottest I've ever had 👍👍👍my sweet 'n' sour chicken huge & my lad thought his was that big & good he couldn't help but leave half and demand he gets the rest Friday nite which is not him.well done

Ordered our usual. Chop suey mixed oderves and a prawn dish. Mixed observes missing. Chop suey was like something left over when you have washed up. (Slop) very very disappointed as we always eat from there. Will give it another go but only because it was the first bad thing we've had. Fingers crossed for next time.

Ordered takeaway at about 9. Took only 1/2 hour to get. That’s the only good bit. The meal was absolutely rubbish. Bland, cold over cooked chips. Soggy sticky rice. Would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Never ever again

sorry wok express but tonights meal has been a big let down. firsty I had to chase up my order over an hour late coming then I ordered boiled rice for a change it was totally tasteless and sticky the veg rolls were not up to standard also tasteless and the sweet and sour chicken did not taste right all gone in the bin. You have lost a good customer wont be ordering from you again

Chicken satay skewers were delicious, huuuuuge portion. Chicken chow mein was also yum. Ordered and collected food in person, 10/10 would do again.

No apology given, no refund offered. Waited half an hour for the driver to come back, look at the food and then tell me I had the right food already. Driver refused to exchange my food. Called up AGAIN, to explain I still didn't have the right food and was told the chef had just made the correct food for me. Didn't want to hear the fact that I hadn't had any new food delivered. No apology, no refund and left with cold food I didn't order.

Very good food, large portions, and not swamped with MSG, however the folk on the desk always look so sad! I know English isn't their first language, but please give us some banter, along with a thank you, have a good evening etc!😀

The food used to be much better in the past. I am not sure if I have been unlucky, but the last two orders I got from this establishment were not as good as they used to be. Far from being terrible, this is still a decent place to order food. But in my opinion it used to be much better.

I've only ever had 3 dishes from their menu but they have always been excellent! I always have the beef satay skewers with plain noodles. I've also tried the chicken satay skewers but much prefer the beef. The only way that I can describe the beef satay skewers is "beef doughnuts". Once you've tasted them you'll understand. They're amazing! The staff are helpful...not the friendliest but they're far from rude. I won't be going anywhere else for a chinese take away!

Great Portions. Never made me disappointment ever. The girl who answer the phone had a fabulous voice. Nice and sweet. Rec!

Absolute disgrace. The gentleman who answered the phone had the charisma of a tea spoon. Was told food would be 45 minutes, called back after an hour only to have the phone immediately put down. After another 20 minutes of trying a busy line the gentleman told me " it'll probably be another half an hour" which would have been more than twice the amount of time stated when the order was placed. When I stated that this was ridiculous and that I'd waited nearly 2 hours ( 10pm by this stage) the gentleman didn't even apologise. Order cancelled, thoroughly disappointed and I can assure you I shall not be editing from here ever again. Terrible.

In my opinion the best value for money Chinese in Lancaster. Been ordering here for three years now and they have never got my order wrong. Only taken one item back which was a black bean rice dish as it was very salty.

Got the set menu C for 2 people which was sweet and sour chicken ,beef with mushrooms and spare ribs,and prawn crackers.....and egg fried rice and chips.

When ever we have family stay we order Chinese. Simple reason. Portions here are huge and when it’s two of us we struggle on two mains and a rice! Very good value for money, so when there’s 4/6 of us it’s better as we can share more things. The chow meins are lovely and tasty with the specials having a fiery chilli bite but not too much. Never had a bad meal, always get piping hot food delivered. Only complaint would be sometimes delivery is a bit long. But we order earlier on peak times to take this into account.

Tasty and great value for money! Cheapest I've seen in Lancaster and you get good portions. I'm surprised its a 3 star at the moment, i order frequently and late deliveries will occur with any takeaway every now and then but most of the time its on time. I recommend it

This is your average Chinese takeaway. My meal was completely tasteless while my daughter's vegetarian meal was too her liking and she enjoyed the fake duck. Not sure I would bother a second time.

I often stop here for chips, fried rice and curry sauce, something of a Lancaster tradition. Big and cheap and good. I have no idea what their Chinese food is like, but this is good. The staff are always really friendly.

Tried for the first time on Saturday evening. Phoned order through, delivered on time as promised. Quality of the food was very good. Free delivery in Lancaster as order was over £10. Friendly delivery driver. Will certainly use again.

Quite good food, been three times. The set meals are especially good value and the student discount is useful. Found some hairs in my most recent meal which I was not impressed with. Other that it is worth going to.

Buena comida, dependiendo de cuando lo dan, algunos días es increíble algunos días es una decepción. Esta noche y después de un pedido hora de espera decidí llamar para preguntar por nuestra comida. Antes de terminada mi pregunta la chica en el otro extremo se ve interrumpido y dijo 'está en camino 'sin siquiera preguntar quien era yo. Luego tomó 30 minutos más para venir y cuando fui a coger la comida el chico ni siquiera salir de su coche me hizo salir a la calle en la lluvia. Muy decepcionado. Si la comida no era tan agradable que no volvería.

Definitely the best Chinese in Lancaster! Never had any complaints about the food from here. The meal deals are well priced and gives loads of food. Delivery is usually quite slow but they tell you that when you order so can't really complain about it. The food is salty but it's a Chinese so nothing unusual there!

Cuando yo estaba aquí el personal no era muy amable y parecía un poco molesto cuando pedir información sobre los platos. El lugar es un lugar donde llevar sólo me pregunto por qué no me dan un tenedor y toallas de papel cuando me dieron mi comida. Tuve que correr para cogerlo. Creo que también olía un poco extraño en el restaurante.

Ordered food, half was either wrong or didn't turn up, the other half was cold and stodgy. Poor effort, must try harder guys... Really. Pancakes were alright though. I say 2 stars but others say 1 so im going with the majority.

Had another takeaway from here on Saturday 23rd.Estimated waiting time for delivery was three quarters of an hour to an hour.Well,my order arrived in thirty minutes!Each container of food was full to the brim,piping hot & tasted sensational!Absolutely love the food, fantastic service & the prices are very,very reasonable!THE best Chinese Takeaway in Lancaster.

I have been here a number of times now and have always been served by the same person. Who has always been rude, unfriendly and standoffish.It is a shame as the food quality is good. But the service is terrible.

Very poor customer service. The lady at the front desk was very unfriendly that you feel unwanted as a customer. I'm not a willing customer to part my hard earned money with that kind of service! Plus, they don't accept cards which I think is ridiculous.

GUNG HAY FAT CHOY ( Happy New Year) Just had a takeaway delivered this evening. A very polite young lady took thephone order. Within forty five minutes it had arrived.Had ordered three main dishes plus a half & half (chips & rice) I think this half & half is a great idea.The food had very colourful garniture,which to me makes all the difference.It was absolutely delicious & there was plenty of it.We also got a big bag of prawn crackers for free,plus two fortune cookies,which was a lovely gesture.I would definately recommend Wokexpress for the good value & delicious food.

We order from wok express atleast 3 times a month and have done for the past 3 years, the food is amazing and freshly cooked, the portions are literally huge and the prices are so cheap. Can not recommended it enough, We love it. It's my favourite Chinese and I have ate at a lot of different Chinese restaurants and this one beats them all.

I went in coz they were quiet.there was my first mistake. The food was quick. Enough being served but it was dry and horrible. The salt and pepper chicken was so hard to chew I gave up. The chicken balls were greasy and un paletable. The rice was nasty too. It was very very cheap but I binned this half way though.wouldnt recommend to ay one u less you were really nasty

We order from Wok Express on regular basis aswel as Happy Chop Suey House, i think these are the 2 best chinese takeaways in lancaster by a long shot. Large king prawn curry with egg fried rice & salt & pepper chips, you cant go wrong, large portions and a good price. Delivery is always quick too. I would highly reccommend Wok Express.

Food was brill and lots of it. The time we waited about 35 minutes was not too impressive but would use again.

We order from Wok Express every month or so. The reasons we still order from Wok Express far outweigh any small, trivial or extremely infrequent hiccups we've had in all the years we’ve been ordering from them. The staff never fail to be polite, lovely and seem genuinely apologetic and eager to rectify the 'issue' when something does go a bit wrong. They have always accommodated any specific wishes we've had (e.g. to have bean curd added to our chow mien) and they make an effort to build a rapport with their customers. What's more, as a vegetarian household, we all enjoy the amount of choice they offer and the fact that they have always tried to accommodate rather than suffer us when we’ve asked if certain dishes can be altered so that they’re ‘vegetarian friendly’. All in all, the portion sizes are generous, the food actually has flavour and the prices are very reasonable. So, as far as ‘take away’ goes, I think they do a great job.

Got a take away twice here during my recent visit to Lancaster. Good value, good menu. Ordered too much the first time, but still not expensive. Obviously used to Southern prices! Would recommend them, I collected so can't comment about delivery.

Ok so my Partner and I decided to order from here last night I'd just finished a late shift at work and I was starving! My local Chinese where I usually order from was closed! So after reading the good reviews about Wok express we decided to give it try! Anyway orderd are food and it arrived cold,, exactly 1 hour later....BUT despite The food being on the cold side it was still very very tasty and thai sweet chilli sauce was delicious...if the takeaway had been deliverd quickly and had arrived hot I would of given wok express an "Excellent" Rating! I think I will try Wok Express again because even though things wasn't spot on the first time I do think they are capable of providing good food :-) so watch this space............

Over the years we have used several Chinese Takaways in the area but in our opinion this is the best with really tasty, hot food deliverd on time. Portion sizes are quite large and there are various complimentary sundries depaending on the value of your order. We had a set menu for four a few weeks ago which they allowed us to customise a little to suit our taste and our guests were very impressed too!!! Delivery in the area is free over a preset value.

Love Wok Express - We always order from here, friendly service, good food :) Best prices as well in Lancaster and good quality for what you pay, plus we tend to take full advantage of the student discount! :)

Had the set meal for one, very good value and good portion size. I enjoyed most of it, however the quality of the pork balls was poor.

Best Chinese in Lancaster. Now under new management with much better Chinese Chef. Food delivered hot and good portion size. Fast delivery. I can't fault them. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my Chinese. P.S. If you want Thai food then order from a Thai takeaway, unless of course you don't want to spend the extra money!

Shockingly awful takeaway, ordered half a duck with pancakes & the majority of it was duck fat! Average chow mein! Won't be ordering again in a hurry!

A pleasant experience from ordering to enjoying the last mouthful. The food is well cooked and tasty. Delivery was reasonably fast and all in all a great deal. Meal for two is highly recommended.

They do a good veggie meal for two (and similar deals for meat eaters). You get to pick a couple of main courses and they add in starters and rice etc - all for around ten pounds. Have been a number of times and the food is consistently good. An all round good take away.

I really enjoy the food from here, the prices are good and the egg fried rice is the best I've had. I like the beef in black pepper sauce and there is always a lot of meat. The lady is also really friendly behind the counter. I recommend!

Always friendly in there, the portions are ample and are always piping hot. Had a slip up with the wrong order once but these things happen. Recommend the special chow mein. Has proper "chinese" chips, and is fantastic value for the money that you pay.

i love this Chinese take away it in my opinion is one of the best in the area . the prices are reasonable and you get BIG portions ..the food is lovely and the range of food is good . they are always time efficient and doesn't take ages from when you ordered and has a good hygiene rating . they have always been courteous and they have no step so perfect for my wheelchair .

Delivery is usually 45mins to an hour so best to order early. The portion sizes are very reasonable, and the prices are the best in Lancaster. Took a long time and i mean a long time for the order to be taken, didnt feel like a customer felt more like an interruption. Asked for a chicken breast curry and chicken breast it was not there did not seem to be a lot of chicken in it. Would not go again.

i visit lancaster often & probably tried most of the takeaways there. I can honestly say Wok Express stands out from the rest. It could be i am usually very hungry after work, but my mates love their food as well. Crispy king prawn + hot & sour soup extra hot = delicious. A++ highly recommended.

I've tried several takeaway Chinese in Lancaster. While this lacked in speed of delivery approx 40 mins the food seemed fresh. I had a large special chop suey and my partner had cantonese style pork sweet and sour with egg friend rice. Very tasty!
