Full House Noodle Bar in Lancaster

Quirky hidden gem. Not from the area and holidaying in Heysham. Wanted a good recommendation for a Chinese restaurant. Found this online. Rear/upstairs in a Chinese supermarket. Think takeaway counter with dining. Very casual but very good. Staff friendly. Food a solid 9/10. All fresh and tasty. Yes they take card payments. Yes they serve a small range of alcohol. Remote upstairs location so a number of stairs.

This place felt really authentic as we entered via the co-owned supermarket on the ground floor. And it didn't fail to deliver. I'm always encouraged when Asian food establishments are frequented by Asian folk. I trust their judgement of authenticity over mine. The food was delish. The menu reassuringly overwhelming. I had tofu/pal choi, my wife had tofu laksa noodles. A couple of beers and we'd hit £40. Thoroughly enjoyable and the place was packed by 6.30pm on a Wednesday. Give it a go.

Apparently this restaurant is no longer 'Malaysian' in it's cuisine. I would say simple straightforward Chinese food. We tried the Laksa and fried rice which was quite average. Prices are reasonable.

Huge menu of classics and less known dishes. Very reasonable rates and good portions. Spicy deep fried chicken wing starter scrumptious.

The food was amazing very authentic and the staffs were really nice. Definitely recommend and will be back to visit for sure.

Charge extra fee when pay by credit card, poor service attitude

no one notified us that we need to give £2 extra for paying with a card for a bill over £50. They only had a sign saying that overseas cards need £1 extra fees. All because the owner does not want to pay the transaction fee to the bank by themselves. At the end we were forced to pay £2 extra. The staff had a really bad attitude with that issue and we will never go again.

Food is okay, but don’t expect the quality and services to be good. When I am paying the bill, the staff asked for an extra two dollars because I am paying by card. Even tho I asked her politely about the extra amount, the staff replied that it is the rule of the restaurant very impolitely. I honestly dont recommend anyone to dine in this restaurant.

I go here every couple of weeks .and sit on the high chairs and watch the world go by. Food is amazing. The very best in Lancaster. Top notch always fresh. Excellent and very friendly 👌

Always consistent here. The food is outrageously good. I can recommend the fried dumplings! Bursting with juiciness! We were mega hungover so only had dumplings, fried rice and szechuan yuxiang shredded pork. It's spicy, oily (in a chilli oil way, not just a minging 'floating oil' kinda way, it's all good!) Probably 2/3 spicy chili out of 5 I'd say! It's at the back of a Chinese supermarket, up two flights of stairs and past a door with 4 freezers 😂 appearances are deceiving! Open that door and walk in. Enjoy!

The best Chinese restaurant in Lancaster!!

The starters took around about 40 minutes to come and they were very meaty. To me this food wasn’t very nice but that is just my opinion

This is not your standard Chinese/Malaysian dine in/takeaway - it really is a cut above. Whilst the decor is basic, the food is excellent with many delicacies you will never find in a high street restaurant or takeaway.

The food is good but one of the servers or the boss doesn’t look friendly to the guest.

Guess we ordered the wrong thing? We tried wantanho & claypot chicken rice, supposed to be Malaysian food but it wasn’t very authentic! 😔 It’s not too pricey, so will be back to give a second chance to try other dishes 🙏🏼

Best beef rendang this side of Singapore. Great service. We arrived at 7:30 on Sunday evening and although they closed at 8, they invited us in and served us promptly with great food. Highly recommend.

We love it here, it's our favourite place to eat in Lancaster. The family who run it are very helpful and the food is consistent. Super quick and decent portions, they are kind and understanding about gluten free requirements in comarison to other Chinese places in Lancaster. Delicious yum yum yum!

We visited here while passing through and LOVED it! Our server was lovely and SUPER helpful as I had a food allergy that limited some of my choices. My meal was DELICIOUS and I would certainly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a delicious meal!

Good broad menu with tradition dishes

Visited this restaurant based solely on the Tripadvisor reviews. I have to say I was rather taken back when I arrived due to the horrific smell that smacks you in the face as you walk into the shop below. I actually thought Tyson had landed a left hook directly on my skull. Once I had recovered from the blow I continued my voyage up the stairs and passed the series of freezers & toilets. I was finally greeted with the restaurant. I was then sat next to the large fridge which wasn’t particularly pleasant. I have to say the constant procession of people collecting food from the freezers wasn’t particularly convincing. Saying that whilst I was there I witnessed a first date, birthday and even a bloody wedding so I think I must have missed something. I wouldn’t consider returning until the special day comes in my life where I say “I do”.

Great place to grab a quick meal, noodles are delicious and the staff are friendly. Really like grabbing a seat in the window and watching the world go by.

It is a lovely place to enjoy with your friends for any occasion.

Simply amazing little hidden away Chinese restaurant - also love the fact you have to walk through the Chinese supermarket to get to the restaurant.

The best Asian restaurant in town! They have a whole section dedicated to vegetarian/vegan food, and the vegetarian dishes can be easily veganised.

Food very tasty and value for money ,it's very basic in side and basic low cost utensils ,no plates to dish food onto or to put bones off ribs on. When asked for a plate it was cold. Food was great so will do take away next time.

Absolutely love noodle bar, we try and visit for lunch a couple of times a month. Working our way through the menu. Staff are amazing. Always friendly and welcoming and always give us a big table because they know how greedy we are and that we order about ten dishes between the two of us! Food is brilliant, a large menu with loads of great stuff. The chicken feet, honey ribs and the crispy pork belly are always go to items for us! We’re always on the lookout for new places but find ourselves coming back to noodle bar all the time because nowhere else is as good!!

This place, real good portions, very tasty, nice staff, don't even get me started on the shop below, even with a full belly I spent a fortune on the way out.

This place serves amazing authentic Chinese cuisine. Walk through the Asian supermarket and up some stairs and you'll be in one of the best Chinese restaurants in Lancaster.

After finding this place when browsing the supermarket downstairs, Full House Noodle Bar blew me away. The food served here is fresh, tasty and will leave you wanting to try every single dish. I left feeling stuffed beyond belief but I will be rolling back for more very soon. The beef dishes are a highlight as are the warm custard buns. I almost don’t want to draw any attention to this place and keep it for myself!

Excellent food, friendly service, excellent prices. Been here several times and it never disappoints.

Amazing authentic Asian cuisine

The service is good, quick, and friendly. We have visited a few times for lunch and have found it to be excellent every time. The food consists of genine Asian dishes as opposed to the Westernised vesions served at some establishments. First impressions are of a plain cafe but don’t be fooled by the sparse decor or the fact that you walk past the freezers etc on the way upstairs and into it. This is one of Lancaster’s hidden gems and is well woth a visit.

It is a decent asian restaurant for Lancaster. Probably we will come back again.

Just Okay. The restaurant was freezing, food was served on cold plates so felt like we had to rush to eat our food before it went cold. Ordered the chicken chow main, very hard to find any chicken in it, probably 10 very small pieces in the whole thing. Staff had poor attitude. Overall disappointing experience after hearing good things.

The best Malaysian Noodle house I have ever experienced. Visited 4 times in 3weeks. Maybe squeeze in another b4 home to OZ. Gourmet food, unbelievable Asian stock..well supported by Uni student. A paradise..

Everything was good EXCEPT from the attitude of staff, soooooo bad , they literally ruin my day!! Me and my friends were wishing to split our bills through the card machine, but the cashier lady started to complain that we waste the printing paper for the receipt in a very negative tone. We were just trying to sort things out, why being so unfriendly? Better stop being so arrogant or else no one will come to urs, cheers.

A mighty selection. Service has been always pleasent and efficient. I once took friends who lived in Hong Kong and it ticked their boxes big time. My tip, if you can handle your sichuan peppers, have the £8 cabbage main dish.

Food is great and served in no time.

Their drinks were good, and food might be good, but unfortunately vegetarians beware, I tried their vegetarian pad Thai, it was smelling of fish, they add fish sauce and or shrimp powder/paste into vegetarian food. I am not sure but last time I checked vegetarian means no fish or meat. So didn't have a good time, but thankfully my sister is non vegetarian, we just took it home and she ate it the next day.

Amazing Chinese food, consistently delivers. Decor is a little limited, but if that doesn't bother you it is without a doubt the best place for Chinese cuisine within lancaster.

Really lovely place. You have to access it via the Chinese supermarket (stairs are straight ahead when you walk in). Food is piping hot and comes really quickly. Great value for money and very delicious. First time visiting and will definitely be going there again. Can see why everyone gives it such great reviews - it's a real hidden gem.

The fact that they continue to advertise themselves as a Chinese Malaysian restaurant despite the fact that both the owner and the chef are originally from Mainland China is extremely disappointing and also a bit misleading. If you, like us, are hoping to try some authentic Malaysian cuisines, then you should definitely keep this in mind.

The restaurant is quite hidden as you have to go into the supermarket and then up the stairs. Their food has great value for money and tastes very home-made. We ordered their Stir Fried Hor Fun with Beef (干炒牛河) and Claypot Stewed Beef Flank with Rice (瓦煲牛腩饭) which both came only 7 minutes after being ordered!

Always have great food here, very relaxed laid-back atmosphere, the staff are always attentive and polite, the food is always fresh as it is based above the shop that has all the produce, it's always full of Chinese and Malaysian etc customers, which tells you straight away it's great, I have been going for the last few years and I am yet to find fault with it, compared to other Chinese type restaurants in the area, this is great.

Good quality food with pleasant staff and no frills

First time going here, omg the food was amazing and it's not overpriced like most places, you can even get a container to take your left overs home

Arrived 30 minutes before they closed and were made welcome. The vegetarian chicken Szechuan was full of pep and tasted great. My partner's Malaysian vegetable laksa was plentiful and flavourful. Great prices and a reward for seeing past the supermarket access and unremarkable stairs.

The hot and sour soup was absolutely delicious! And the sliced chicken with curry sauce pretty tasty too! I would definitely recommend the place, and though I depart Lancaster on Monday,I hope to be able to find the time to return beforehand!

I visited the Full House Noodle Bar with a friend at the weekend after not being for some time. As always the food was tasty, fresh and good sized portions. Between us we had Spring Rolls, Prawn Toast, Salt and Pepper Chicken for starters followed by Sweet and Sour Chicken and Chicken in Black Bean Sauce. Also had egg fried rice and boiled rice. The staff are always very friendly and attentive throughout. It was all delicious and will continue to return here again in the future.

I need to take photos of the food the next time I'm here, but I seriously doubt I'll be back, unless I'm really desperate for some "Malaysian" food. The first time I was here I had Hainanese Chicken Rice, which was maybe 2/5. The second time I was here I ordered dry wanton noodles, and it was terrible, 1/5. The wantons had no meat in it, and they used the wrong noodles and the wrong sauce. The char siu was like cardboard.

wanted to try the dim sum, after reading this review. however, was on a meter, whilst parked in lancaster and there is a wait for dim sum. so ordered takeaway of noodles, curry and a spicy beef dish. all well spiced, and very flavoursome. had we lived in the area would have returned.. not the cheapest takeaway but would return also liked the eating in options but not possible with pooch with us

This place is such a good find. So affordable, which is very much needed as a student and there’s a crazy amount of choice. The food always comes quickly as well. I’d recommend to anyone!

Family meal on a Monday night was amazing and menu very intensive. Good fresh food, polite service and clean.

Shop downstairs with restaurant upstairs.  Very friendly and helpful staff. We were seated straight away with menus. 5 minutes later they came back for drink order without being prompted and took our food order at the same time. Food came out quickly at each point. We asked for a chilli oil dip to go with the prawn crackers and they were more than happy to oblige.    We ordered the following: Prawn crackers £1.80 Pinot grigo bottle - I think it was around £12.00 Assorted dim sum - cooked to perfection , great variety. £6.50 for 8 pieces  Pork dumplings with Chinese leaf - beautifully cooked and a great portion £4.30  Thai ham rice with pineapple - My friend loved it. £7.50 Chinese bbq pork noodle - Pork was cooked to perfection,  the bbq sauce was really nice and the noodles were cooked to perfection. Beautiful meal £7.50 Stirred fried King prawn with rice stick- My friend that isn't a fan of spice absolutely loved it. £8.90 We all loved our food, the service and everything. One of my friends had never been before and she left very impressed. Prices are reasonable , portions are good , food quaility is high and very good service. It may look like a cafe but its got restaurant quaility food and service. 

The portion is huge but everything taste bland. I ordered Malaysian dishes and they don't taste anything other than chili oil. Not authentic Malaysian at all.

the food tastewise was very good. the chow mein was a little plain and far too large a portion but the rest of the food made up for it.

Full House Noodle BarLancaster Chinese Restaurant This restaurant is offering deliveries to the Lancaster area at the moment and are cash only. The menu is on their Facebook page. I used Facebook messenger to place my pre order for tonight at 6.30 and it was accepted pretty quickly. My order arrived 20 minutes early. The menu is very varried with starters , dim sum , noodle dishes , rice dishes and Malaysian dishes. I pre ordered the following: Char sui buns (chinese bbq bins 3pcs) £3.50Crispy roast belly pork £8.50 Egg chow mein with beansprouts £2.60 £14.60 for the food and £1.50 for delivery so £16.10 in total. The portion sizes were good. When I ordered crispy pork belly I was not sure what I would be getting. It was a nice change to have a dish not dripping in sauce with a small pot on the side and it was served with Chinese cabbage. The pork was sliced up well and had a lovely crisp on. The pork had great flavours which would of been lost if it came with a alot if sauce. The noodles i found interesting as they were fried with pieces of egg and they had more flavour than I have got from other places. The char sui buns were soft, fluffy but a little but sweet. My only complaint would be that the filling was not much at all , dont get me wrong it wasn't bland but it wasn't amazing either. On a whole I enjoyed this meal and the buns weren't awful , just didn't live up to the rest of the meal. The picture looks like not much is going on but the meal really was lovely.

Tried the Sweet and Sour Crispy Chicken. All i could taste was crispy batter with no chicken inside it. Disappointed.
