The best restaurants serving American food in England

The way I have just been spoken to by not 1, but 2 of the staff is absolutely disgusting and I will not be returning. 1 individual in particular, Lilly. After standing and waiting for 15 minutes at the bar to pay for my food, all 5 members of staff (besides the manager) came tottering out of the kitchen to which I said "ive been waiting here for 15 minutes can I pay", she began to shout at me whilst in the restaurant, telling me the had an issue in the kitchen that they were sorting, even though the manager had asked them twice to come and and help. After speaking to me like a peice of dirt, I asked "excuse me who are you talking to like that?" Which she responded "you, im staff and you need to respect me, I was busy sorting stuff that has nothing to do with you". I asked her "whats your name?" As her name badge was covered, she looked me up and down and turned away. I then asked one of the other members of staff "whats her name?" And she said "sorry im not allowed to share that information with you". I asked who the manager was, she pointed to the man who was quite clearly very stressed with the staff team and their level of incompetence. I asked "whats her name?" In which he told me "lilly". What is concerning to me is how she so comfortably spoke to a customer like this with absolutely 0 repercussions. It is disgusted.

We have been three times to this restaurant first time we were told we hadn't booked and couldn't get in fair enough. Second time we went inbthe restaurant was empty but was told there would be over an hour wait for food as they were expecting a large party to come in. I asked we were there first surely they would take our order first but told they wouldn't? Last chance was yesterday went in stood at the door waited to be seated this was just after 7:00 p.m. to be told that the kitchen was closed They were no longer serving food? Don't bother wasting your time they obviously don't need your money or want your money Go to a restaurant that actually wants customers.

We had a great meal tonight. Everything was cooked perfectly and the cocktails were spot on. Lovely atmosphere and even accomodated turning the air con down as we got a bit cold. Lillie was our server tonight and she was so lovely and attentive, had a little giggle with us and nothing was too much trouble. Her friendly disposition and professionalism really added to the dining experience at M&C. Thank you Lillie.

On a family visit to England (we live in Canada) We didn’t get the time with family as planned due to my father suddenly passing. We decided to meet our family at their local for a fair -well drink. We didn’t book as emotions were high so honestly didn’t think about it. On arrival I was greeted with “ did you book?” I replied no sorry then i was told well we don’t have room. We asked if we could just have a drink at the bar Of which just got an eye roll. Yes it was busy, but no-one acknowledged us to serve us a drink. And we kept getting shouted at to move as they were running food. “No excuse me” I asked where best to stand and she shouted at the other bar area. I hadnt been before and didn’t know where that was. I asked for direction she just said “there “ Zero customer service Zero smiles Zero Manners I appreciate we had arrived on quiz night but if the staff just said i’m really sorry we are fully booked. We have a bar area over here if you wouldn’t mind standing here so we can run food clearly & and we can serve you a drink. Or even tell us unfortunately we are full and not able to accommodate you this evening . Nothing just blatant rudeness. . Top tip….. Never arrive to the Rodmill without booking as you will not be treated well. My brother, mum & mum in law live in walking distance and use the pub for lunch. Sadly that was their last visit as they were completely shocked with the rudeness! We ended up leaving without ordering and going to the wheatseath who were busy but so friendly, fantastic service and food and made room for us to laugh & cry and say goodbye to each other after the hardest & unexpected week. Im totally shocked at the rudeness we received for having the ordacity to walk into a pub for a drink not realizing its quiz night.

Llevó a mi madre a la cosechadora para una comida del día de la madre en la calle 1 de abril. La Dama de la cola de caballo negra no fue de mucha ayuda! ¡Esperábamos que nos atendieran y esperábamos casi 15 minutos! Y entonces una pareja entró y la Señora los mostró a su mesa y comenzó a servirlos. ¡No estábamos contentos! Eventualmente vino y nos sirvió. La comida era fantástica y el hombre con el pelo largo era muy servicial. Nos preguntó si todo estaba bien

Had a great experience, we was served by Laura she was amazing. Couldn’t help enough she was so ok the ball and so helpful!

Excellent service today by josh Ashley and marj. Food was of high quality and arrived to the table promptly. Was given helpful info when sat down at the table. Would recommend taking children as plenty to choose from and staff was very friendly with my child

Wouldn’t recommend to anyone, tables were dirty and full of left food for the full two hours we were there. People waited over 10-15 minutes to be seated in a restaurant that had about 4-5 tables in use it was completely dead. Staff were only seen every 10-15 minutes, nobody checked if our food was okay or if we wanted drink refills. Everyone around us kept leaving due to the poor service, 20 minutes someone near us waited without even having their order taken to only be told what they wanted wasn’t available alongside many other things on the menu. People kept walking out and telling others not to bother going to sit down. The food was completely average for how much you pay. Tasted re heated and microwaved, not what you’d expect for such an expensive restaurant. Will not be returning, or recommending, looking at the other reviews it seems this place has a lot of issues and a lot of people aren’t happy, probably why it was so dead when we went in.

Shame it's gone, we loved eating here. What a loss. Beefeater used to give great value meals and such friendly staff. Sorry to see another great chain disappearing.

Been going for years, but progressively getting worse. Nachos dry, less cheese, less meat, less of everything really. And upping the price. Portions generally smaller but with increased prices. Quality not as it was.

Nicole K was amazing, customer service was brilliant and she made us feel very welcome! Highly recommend!! Really pleasent visit and we will definitely come again!

Visited The Bull, Wheathampstead for a meal and catch up with friends. We had a lovely meal with everything delicious and cooked to perfection. Our waitress, Belinda was attentive but not intrusive and was very knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. I couldn’t decide which cocktail to choose and Belinda recommended the Disarrano Blush which didn’t disappoint and I highly recommend too. The Bull is well worth a visit, lovely location especially if you get to sit outside by the river on a nice summer’s day.

Visitó TGIF para una bebida, tenían 2 por 1 opción / oferta que funciona todo el día. . Compra un cóctel y consigue 2 (igual) , fuimos por un té helado de isla larga, estaba bueno pero no tan fuerte, por alguna razón en Reino Unido el porcentaje de alcohol es menor en cócteles en comparación con Bombay. Bonito lugar grande, pero no mucha gente incluso en un sábado por la noche. Se estaban preparando para Halloween, espero que el evento ilumine el lugar. .
