Five Guys York in York

Well over priced for what it is didnt taste that great at all. Also was sat eating and a mother popped in with her little son(about aged 8-10) for the toilet but couldnt poor lad was desperate and she said i cant i dont have a code she asked the staff if she could borrow it and they said you have to by something first. Sorry but thats not fair the poor kid cant control their needs. Strongly disagree with having a code for the restrooms

Only went for milkshake as they are the best around for me.

Five Guys Burger, fries and their milkshakes are always my favorite.

Hamburguesa insípida, patatas fritas que eran una broma! Orden incorrecta enviada, pobre zona de estar incómoda y el exterior que parecía un barrio de chabolas tapiado!

Was the only customer. Got my order wrong. Gave me bacon in a tray to make up for it. Cremated! I like bacon crispy but this literally shattered when touched, you can see the state of it on the photo. £13 or so for a burger. Terrible service and food.

Really friendly guy and the food was lovely and hot! Quickest delivery we’ve ever had from Five Guys!

Not busy when we got there,maybe one or 2 customers but the tables were absolutely filthy. We ordered the food which was tasty but couldn't believe the price. Almost £5 for a self serve soft drink. Toilet needs a code to go in but while I was using it, a lady just barged in as once inside, doors don't lock. Mayonnaise satchel was out of date -dec 2024. Not good for a first impression. Sad as I had really high hopes! Rip off. First and last visit.

no sauce on 1 burger, no jalapeños or sauce on the other burger... disappointed

Tengo el BLT el tocino estaba muy crujiente / demasiado cocinado. Me gusta mi tocino crujiente pero no hasta el punto de romperme los dientes. También hacía frío. He tenido BLTs en el pasado y los hago yo mismo Siempre los he tenido calientes. Las patatas estaban bien. Me gusta el hecho de que Dan beba recambios gratis como Burger king. El restaurante estaba limpio y la comida se servía rápido. No era servicio de mesa se sentía más como un McDonald's, así que esperamos su pedido y recogimos. Vino en bolsas como para llevar. Aunque nos quedábamos. Lástima que no pudieran hacer lo que McDonald's hace con bandejas o algo así.

We received the wrong order completely and even read out the number to him I spent 35 quid on some nice food and received the completely wrong order I want a full refund.

0 rating. Food very disappointing, chips cold and undercooked. Burger underrated. Nowhere near the standard Five Guys experience I had at designer outlet, York. Toilets absolutely disgusting! Won’t be back… Would have given no points for anything but that option is not available.

We went to five guys in York yesterday.it was very overpriced and it cost £44 for 2 adults to have a burger, a small fries and a milkshake each. The five guys was very dirty, with dirty tables and overflowing jobs. We both had the bacon cheeseburger and the bacon was cremated as if it had be stuck on the flat top and just scraped off. The fries were black and burned and had just been thrown in the bag and there were 2 small cups that the fries were supposed to go in. Overall a very poor experience and very overpriced.

Always good quality food from this restaurant, but it was cold, even though it was on time. Also, the entire principle of tipping the drive before the order has even been placed is quite frankly ridiculous.

As Five Guys goes this was probably the most disappointing one I've ever visited. Food was ok, chips were terrible. can't say any more than that. Waiting time felt like hours 😴 will I be returning........no.

I visited this venue on the Sunday just gone and found myself as a customer to be disrespected by what I believe to be a manager or supervisor. While ordering, the service was well presented and seemed genuine, but as I received my food and while I sat in the store, the atmosphere was disrupted by this one lady in a black shirt. She was seemingly rude to not only her staff but those of us in the store and it made the whole experience utterly unenjoyable.

Considering that it is a fast food the burgers are very good. For the same reason, I think it is a bit expensive.

Food was good quality and nice but took just about an hour to come when it said 35 mins to 45 mins and chips were cold and soggy. Apart from chips being hotter, food was delicious as usual and delivery driver very friendly (it wasn’t his fault it took longer)

We went for milkshakes and then returned for another. No scrimping on ingredients. Many use ice to bulk the volume but not here. These were thick and lovely. Very quiet when we visited.

My daughters all love Five Guys, me less so. Although I've enjoyed each time I've visited, I really fail to see why the bill is more than double what a similar trip to McDonalds would be. I have very basic tastes and prefer a plain burger without cheese, lettuce, sauce, etc. Without such accompaniments, a McDonalds burger patty tastes far superior to that of Five Guys, which is basically flavourless. Five Guys fries and milk shakes are excellent but awfully expensive. £28.95 for 2 hot dogs, 1 cola, 1 milk shake, and a small fries is too expensive. I'd struggle to carry £28.95's worth of food at McDonalds.

If you've been to a Five Guys before, you already know the quality to expect as well as the over the average prices. This York franchise is nice, very clean and the quality matches as usual, very delicious burgers and fries made to order and very quickly. Have visited a few times for a treat-lunch with different levels of busy-ness and have always been seen to and had my meal in less than 15 minutes.

I was highly disappointed with the food. I paid almost £50 for 2 meals and the burger buns were squashed and soggy I won’t be eating here again very expensive and not impressed. Feel robbed

Quirky establishment in that it’s split level and different offshoot areas. Toilet situation is a bit strange, you need the code off your receipt. Food was good and staff helpful

I ordered 2 different burgers and 2 chips. The burgers had no label to know which is which plus bad packed. And the chips have been thrown in the paper bag, so I have a massive portion of chips not 2. Check the picture. First and last time buying from,,five guys,, I wish I refused the order

Disgusted - ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries for delivery on Uber eats. Food was cold, the burger was just burger, cheese and bacon which was overcooked. Have added photos of what I ordered and what I got. Will not be ordering from here again, you get better quality from Mac Donald’s

My burger arrived looking as if someone had done 10 keepy ups with it, which I would of been happy to overlook had it not been caked in mushrooms - which I did not order as I cannot stand them. There was that many mushrooms on the burger (which were mashed into the bottom bun) I could not eat it. First and last five guys, would not order from here again.

First time in 5 Guys. Thought the grilled cheese sandwich would be a safe bet. It was inedible. It's not cheese as you or I know it. It was like a melted down traffic cone. Disgusting. And ridiculously overpriced. Took about ten minutes to make, despite being practically the only customer. It went staight in the bin.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and asked questions about my hometown and how I found York. This was a lovely personal touch. The downside was lack of ice in the drink machines, it was a rather warm day and a cold drink would have been good. But staff were reasonable about this and apologised the inconvenience.

Yummy soda fountain. Great place for a break from the walking with clean bathrooms and nice staff. Burgers and fries were as good as the ones over here.

Ordered chicken burger chips and a coke. Chips didn’t arrive. £22 for just a burger and tin of Coca Cola is a bit on the heavy side.

Food is quite reasonable, really, a little expensive as you can get chips and bits with a burger in almost most other places. The only real negative I have is the toilet setup. Having to use a code to gain access, but you don't know is there's space or not, as only one has a noticeable lock on the door

Walked into the restaurant. First impressions. It’s very cold. Ordered my burger. Nothing fancy. Just a cheeseburger. Best part of £12 Added onions lettuce and tomatoes. Went to eat upstairs. The place was so cold The food didn’t hit the spot either. While the burger was ok. The taste sensation was not. For £12 I’d expect to have a smile on my face at least after eating this. Would question if the price was worth it

The cheeseburger was very tasty but the photos are misleading as they show it with lettuce and tomato. The fries are very salty but that could just be me. I also thought it was quite expensive.

Horrible service 0 star rating and will never go here in future. Extremely rude and unprofessional staff I have no words to explain the experience with Five guys for the first time we had this experience from the staff who was cooking and preparing the food for the customer. As my friend had ordered 1 sandwich and extra fries 🍟 it takes 30 mints to get the order. When there is no waiting for any customer. The staff intentionally didn’t prepare her order on time and they are doing gossip about her it’s due to because she is from India. We have mentioned the time and order number and date everything in the picture. Please take appropriate actions towards your staff behaviour on customers. My friends get her order after they service to 29 number and her order number was 21. We are very disappointed with the services and the behaviour of the staff. Just because we paid money and we all are hungry we did said anything to the staff as they already doing gossiping about to give order to her or not. For more information check your camera recording on 30.03.2024 at 2:24 pm to 2:45 pm. This is unacceptable behaviour. The food is okay not bad we don’t complain about food but the behaviour was terrible. Don’t want to remember again. Not recommended to anyone because they don’t take customers seriously.

Visited late in the evening on Easter and the service was exceptional, very friendly. Keep up the great work. Food was brilliant too.

I strongly urge management to address these issues promptly and prioritize the health and well-being of their patrons. Until significant improvements are made, I will be taking my business elsewhere. My advice to  customers would be to stay way . How can you trust eating there  when you can clearly see from the photos that the meat is raw.  Yet customer service claim it’s cooked !!

Not your average burger in any way shape or form. It's my first experience at Five Guys, and was not disappointed. If you're used to a big M or royalty burgers, then prepared to be blown away! Expect restraunt prices, but it was well worth it! You choose your burger and then select what toppings you want - and there are lots to choose - and as many as you want, for no extra cost. Their fries are fantastic too, proper thick ones with the skins still on. You get the option of plain or Cajun spiced, and these are amazing. Milkshake machine appears to have a dedicated person operating it - and unlike that other place - was most definately working extremely well, with much more of a selection as well, including bacon, if that floats your boat! I chose strawberry and banana, which included actual fruit, topped with cream, and was just amazing!

I reviewed this a year ago and was left feeling very let down. I believe in giving places a 2nd chance so went in for a takeaway burger and fries to see if I was wrong to be so harsh the first time. Sadly nothing had changed. The burgers were OK - but certainly not worth over £12 and I can think of 5 other places in York now that do burgers light years better that 5 Guys. The fries came overdone again and so salty that I had to throw them in the bin at home. No 3rd chances - this joint is off my list permanently

This was my first visit to Five Guys as our son was keen for us to try it. The bacon cheese burger with all my chosen toppings was perfect and the bespoke milkshake combo was delicious along with the skin on fries- I'd definitely visit again

Burgers and chips are very tasty.Milkshakes are really nice. But overall the price is way too much for what is an upmarket macdees to be honest.

Had a great dining experience at Five Guys - although somebody mistakenly took my order, the man (apologies I don’t know his name but he was tall, I’m guessing he has long hair as it was in a bun and he was wearing a cap, he looked around 27 y/o+, he was on shift 22/02/24 at around 20:20) working in the kitchen was great in getting my order done as quickly as possible and was apologetic for the issue. He is a credit to your team, kind, quick and great customer service! (Also, the food was amazing!) please pass this on to him 😄

I went in to get some fries, the collection system was a bit chaotic as people stood in front of the counter meaning no one could hear their order number getting shouted but in the end I got my food and it was good. There are 3 restrooms but don't get lost like me they are up the stairs near the front doors.

The staff was very unpleasant and with 0 friendliness in their attention, as they did not speak English well, they did not show any interest in repeating things or trying to understand the conversation. Unlike other Five Guys locations where everything was perfect.
